Lily is one of those characters you are immediately drawn to. You can relate to her and you are constantly rooting for her. The love story slowly unfolds and ends in a HEA. I can’t wait to read the next one. Love the way this author draws you in from the beginning and keeps you wanting more.

The first in the Bluestone Series and my first book by this author, but it quickly became one of many in both categories! Lily is a fiery heroine with a past and Jake is everything you want in an alpha male – strong, working with animals, caring, fights for what he wants… I could go on!
The writing style keeps you reading late into the night and the plot line keeps you guessing! Highly recommended!

Oh my gosh I’m just loving this cover !!!! The dedication made me chuckle and think of my peeps when I’m reading because I’m forever sharing ❣️📚😉

Lilly inherits a hardware store from her estranged father , there’s an apartment above so her home is also sorted but is this English rose going to survive Montana !? 😉

“ Malbro man “ aka Jake and Lilly ( sweetheart ) get off to a rocky start but entertaining I must add but having said that I see the attraction small town living will have as opposed to city living and I’d like to quote a little bit of perfection “She wasn’t completely sure why , but she knew in her heart that Bluestone was where she needed to be “

Lilly makes friends with Sam and I just adore her I wouldn’t mind having her as my friend ❣️

Sam is Jakes’s sister so when Lilly gets invited to the weekly barbecue their paths cross again and let’s just say there are more sparks than in the fire 😉🫶🏼

I loved the people of Bluestone and Lilly and Jake kept me on my toes , we laughed and we cried and we had the most beautiful time together ❣️thank you guys for letting me part of you , see you soon 🥰

Lilly’s mom grated my nerves a bit

Love Tools
By: Isobel Reed

This book is freaking fantastic. This is the first book in the Bluestone Series and I definitely cannot wait to read the other books. Bluestone is a small, rural ranch town and this book definitely gives so many good feels of a small town. It features two of the most amazing characters. Lilly is running away from London, from the life she knew. She is running towards … Well she isn’t sure. She knows that her father, that left her when she was little, has left her a hardware store and an apartment in Bluestone. She knows that she maybe wants to know something about him, but she also knows that she isn’t happy in her real life right now. Jake is working on a ranch with his sister. He has never had a real, serious relationship and the new girl in town has caught his eye. What he doesn’t know is that his sister also has caught the new girl’s eye and they are about to become the best friends that the other needs. This new revelation complicates things, because if he wants the new girl he can’t do what he has always done. But he is also the first to admit that Lilly (the new girl) has a different effect on him. He definitely feels things that might seem like this relationship might last.
Lilly and Jake have an amazing relationship. Their banter with each other is amazing. Each is very flawed in a very relatable way. I know I related to Lilly on so many levels. And Jake he just seemed so genuine. I also liked that Jake knew Lilly’s father. I feel like that really helped add depth to the story. I love knowing that this is a series as there were so many characters that were introduced that I really want to know more about – Sam and Duke, Lilly’s sister, Teddy at the bar. I love the small town feel and it made me want to up and move to Bluestone, it seems like a place that would feel like home.

Yes! I love the story of Lily and Jake! This is a quick love story that I lost myself in for the afternoon. There are plenty of emotions, but the main theme is romance with a western, ranch vibe. The author does an amazing job weaving the funniest quips throughout the story, and I was laughing out loud at some points. I love anything to do with cowboys so this was right up my alley. If you’re looking for a feel-good, contemporary western romance, pick this one up! You won’t be disappointed.

At the beginning of this story, we see a girl who is lost and hates the life she is living. I think everyone can relate at needing a change of scenery. I found this to be so relatable. It made me feel for Lily, and I was cheering her on as I read. The romance that blooms between her and Jake takes off, and they have great chemistry. I also love the secondary characters. The characters and the setting really grow on you in this novel and it continues thru series. My only gripe about Lily is that sometimes she acted childish and naïve like when she turned away from Jake’s kisses twice, but was upset when he did the same thing. I just found it unrealistic. Other than that – great plot, great characters, great romance!

Love Tools by Isabel Reed is book one in her Bluestone series. This book was a fast small town enemy to lover book. Lily inherits her fathers hardware store and quickly decided this is just the distraction and get away she needs. She picks up and moves away from her mediocre life from London. After pushing every button she has, Jake tries everything he can think of to get her to like him. He was a friend of her fathers, and even if he gets on her every nerve, she just can’t resist that cowboy. The interactions between the pair are super cute. The story itself was a little predictable but there were a few surprises the author threw in. Looking forward to book two!

This is the first book in the Bluestone series which focuses on Lily and Jake’s story.

I was a little worried at first that this would be like a lot of other cowboy love stories I’ve read before but I am so glad to have been wrong. I thought the characters were really well written, they really shone through and found a place in my heart.

I loved Lily, she had the strength to start over somewhere new, away from everything she knew, and I admire her bravery in doing so. I loved her attitude and found her fun and entertaining, especially when around Jake. The chemistry between them kept me rooting for them to get together.

In addition to the great characters, I enjoyed the author’s writing style, it was clear and simple without being dull or patronising; it really increased my enjoyment in reading this.

I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Love Tools (Bluestone Series, #1)Love Tools by Isobel Reed
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love Tools is Book One in the Bluestone Series. Lily has recently moved from London to the small town of Bluestone County after inheriting her father’s hardware store. Although Lily was estranged from her father and had not since him since she was a small child, she took the move as a fresh start. She needed to escape from the life she had in London. The city was too busy, her apartment was cramped, and she felt like she was going nowhere in her job. Plus, she found her mother to be too overbearing, and she found herself in one bad relationship after another. The excuse to run her estranged father’s hardware store clear across the country came as a welcome excuse to flee from the life she was hating and start over.

When Lilly arrives in Bluestone, she throws herself into cleaning the hardware store and preparing for it to reopen. Lily is wrapped up in cleaning the store when a drop-dead gorgeous cowboy walks into the store. She finds it hard to take her eyes off of him, but as soon as he opens his mouth the attraction rating drops drastically. Lily refuses to get into any sort of a relationship, especially with a man as annoying as Jake. Besides, she figures that nobody that good looking would be interested in her anyhow. Jake cannot seem to help messing up every time he opens his mouth but finds he is intentionally saying things to get a rise out of Lily. Although he has all but sworn off relationships, he finds Lily not only sexy as all get go, but he loves her sassy attitude.

Lily finds that she cannot seem to escape Jake who seems to be everywhere, including at her new friend, Sam’s, place. The two begin to spend time together as Jake helps her with prepping the hardware store for the reopening. As they spend time together Lily lets her guard down a bit and opens up to Jake about her relationship with her father. She is seeking answers about why her father abandoned her and what type of person he was. Why did he move across the country to run a hardware store in the middle of nowhere? Jake and her father were close so he may be able to give her some answers. As they spend more time together the chemistry between Lily and Jake intensifies and the attraction becomes undeniable.

This book was well written, and the characters were lovable and relatable. Lily and Jake both have trauma from their pasts that have left them feeling a bit broken. Both have all but sworn off relationships and have chosen to focus on other projects. For Lily it was the hardware store and for Jake it was the ranch. Jake did not know what love was and had only wanted casual relationships until he met Lily. No woman had ever made Jake feel like he could not live without her until Lily came along. Now he needs to convince Lily that he is serious about her and will not treat her like her exes had in the past. Lily has had one bad relationship after another and is scared to let her guard down for fear that Jake will also end up hurting her. The hurt, drama, angst, and betrayals from their pasts must all be worked through before either can be fully capable of having a healthy relationship. This was a wholesome love story with sexy cowboys in a small-town setting with a bit of sass, humor, and witty banter sprinkled throughout. A fantastic read that immediately made me want to read other books in the series.

A beautiful love story between two people who were not looking for love, but have been missing it their whole life. Jake is a cowboy rancher who has never been in love. Lily is a lovely English woman who moved out to a small country town in the US from London to find herself and her past. With Jake’s sister in the middle as Lily’s new BFF, this story is so fun, loving, and absolutely enjoyable for everybody to read.

What a lovely small town romance, with added dashes of sisters’ friend angst, and bad boy older brother vibes.
Lily moves from London to Bluestone after the death of her father. Her aim; to be happy, find some answers and run the hardware store that her father left her.
The added family issues bring this book more into reality than some romantic fiction, what a mother and father will do after a relationship breakdown, and how they protect the children, which can be seen in the emotional issues that Lily (and Jake) have to deal with later in life.
Jake knew Lily’s dad, and wants to help her as much as he can to come to terms with the man she never knew, he finds himself wanting to get to know her too.
Emotions roll up and down as this pair struggles to come to know themselves, and each other, and Lily struggles to get the business running whilst coming to grips with the past.
A great read that I hope will be the first of many by this author.
I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful book filled great characters! Lily has a history of always picking the wrong men and Jake has always kept things very casual having never been in love before. They are an interesting combination and reading them sort through their feelings was totally enjoyable! My heart broke for Lily when she found out about her mothers lies, not that I will say any more about that because I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone still to read the book yet. This is the first book in this series and I definitely am looking forward to reading many more!

This is a beautiful novel that goes from London to the wilds of Montana. This is a tale of family and romance, heartbreak and heartache. A woman seeking both her own roots and a place she can belong, finds far more than she could have hoped for. She leaves everything she’s ever known behind in London and moves to Montana to take over the Hardware store left to her by a father she doesn’t remember. Could this small town in nowhere Montana be what she’s looking for and even better, needs?
A well written novel with beautiful world building and characters that make you feel like they’re sitting right beside you. A believable story that makes you want to throw caution to the wind and run away to Montana yourself.

Love Tools (Bluestone Series #1) by Isobel Reed

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Love Tools is an amazing first read. The author has a way with the words written. I finished this within an hour so that should say something. This is the first book in the Bluestone Series.

Jake goes in to check on the store his friend owned when he was alive. He runs into someone new to him. He’s shocked to learn that his friend was a dad and his daughter is hot. The quote I chose for Jake is: “Um, he was a good guy. Quiet. Liked to keep himself to himself, but he had a good heart.”

Lily moved to where her dad lived to find out who he was. She didn’t expect to run into someone on her first day in town. Montana does their guys right. She doesn’t know how to react to him. The quote I chose for Lily is: “You have a dad, Ali, a real dad. I have a stepdad and a dead biological father who left and never said why. If you were me, wouldn’t you want answers?”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Love Tools (Bluestone Series, #1)Love Tools by Isobel Reed
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novel follows the story of Lily, on her quest for the truth of her past and new beginnings. After she learns of her father’s passing, she learns that she has inherited his tool store in Bluestone County, Montana. Even though she has no clue about selling tools or business, a new beginning from her London upbringing sounds quite appealing. She ends up connecting with Jake and his sister, Sam, who own a nearby Dude Ranch. Sam invites her to their ranch to learn firsthand tools to help her with her new business endeavor while Jake starts developing an attraction towards Lily. After Lily’s many failed relationships, she seems a bit hesitant on Jake’s advances and shies away from any of his attempts.
Reed has such an immediate way of writing to enthrall her readers into this great story. It is such an enjoyable and quick read that readers can fall in love with the characters and story line presented. When it comes to romance, attraction comes into play when there is something eager to be known about those you are attracted to.

When Lily’s dad died and left her his hardware store in Bluestone County it could have come at a better time. Lily didn’t have any regrets about leaving London for Bluestone. However, Lily had no clue how to run a hardware store she needed to make it herself. She needed to find herself and find the answers as to why her dad had left. The last thing Lily needed was to fall in love with a local cowboy, let alone her new best friend’s brother.
Jake was the local ranch owner. Hot, steamy, and a bad idea. Jake had a bad reputation with the ladies and her best friend’s brother. But Jake might actually have the answers to some of her questions about her dad. Jake’s past will come back to haunt him causing Lily to run.
This was a great read. I truly enjoyed this read. The big city girl falls for the country cowboy, what better storyline! I can’t wait to read the next book in this set!

Miserably unhappy, Lilly, a young lady from London, moves to the states to takeover a tool shop that was left to her after a father she barely knew passed away. In a search to connect and discover more about her father she discovered Jake who is more than willing to give her the answers she seeks. Jake, a playboy cowboy who runs a ranch with his sister doesn’t quite know if he’s experiencing love for the first time or if what he is feeling is something else. Love Tools was a quick, sweet, fun romance that I was delighted to read. I read it in about two days only stopping because of adult responsibilities and I didn’t have a choice. Love Tools is a romance story about a lost girl, Lily, from London who tries to rediscover herself in Bluestone County, USA. Lily’s estranged father left her his hardware store to run. Lily wasn’t happy in London lately so the change came at a good time. As she is trying to adjust to her new life in a small town, she runs into a gorgeous, cocky cowboy named Jake. There is an instant banter that stirs, but there is no denying the attraction they have for each other. They are forced to become closer when she befriends his sister. However, Jake has a reputation of a playboy who can’t commit so is warned to stay away. Due to her never running a business, she runs into a little bit of trouble and Jale offers to help. This is the start of a brewing romance. However, can the two of them figure out their own baggage to appreciate the connection they have found?

I enjoyed this romance novel. Both characters were very loveable. They had great banter and chemistry. She was portrayed as a strong independent woman trying to find her way, while Jake was the cowboy gentleman with an edge. The build of the romance seemed natural, not rushed, and really developed on the page. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this romance story. The author does an amazing job with the characters and I really enjoyed how at the start Lily and Jake seemed to hate each other but the teasing and barbs they threw at each other was all building up to an attraction that neither of them could deny.

Lily changed her whole life, leaving her family behind to take over a tool shop her father left her when he passed. She has nothing to lose, she hates her job and her dating life is non existent as she always attracts the wrong guys.
What she doesn’t expect is to meet a guy and not just any guy. Jake is a guy with so many red flags she should run in the opposite direction screaming.

Jake has never had a serious relationship. He’s known as a bit of a ladies man and he’s happy with that. Until he meets Lily. He’s never felt about a woman the way he does about Lily but how can he prove to her that he is the man for her and not the womaniser she thinks him to be.

This is a slow burn romance where the attraction is there but both Lily and Jake need to work through their past relationships and pains to be able to full let the other person in. Their connection is fun to read as they constantly push and pull each other.

Jake and Lily are both trying to find their way and making amends with their troubled pasts.

Lily is not going anywhere in her miserable life in London. Her estranged father left her a little hardware shop in Bluestone, Montana. Lily wants to make the store successful and learn more about her deceased father.
Jake is a local cowboy who has always said ‘no’ to love. He’s content with life on the ranch.

Love Tools is an emotional roller coaster of romance, heartbreak, and drama in a rural romance. I loved both Jake and Lily. This story is an easy read with great characters.
