Told from the alternating perspectives of Max and Liliana, this book tells the story of an American mafia princess whose father only sees her value in how he can marry her off for his best financial gain or benefit. Max is her father’s newest hire with a secret agenda of his own.
When the two decide to become allies against Liliana’s father, things get explosive. Sprinkled with cartel interference, a commission with the Sicilian mafia, and figuring out who can be trusted in the other four American mafia families running Chicago, the pair have their work cut out for them while a romance blossoms between them and a marriage contract looms overhead.
This action-packed novel has a little bit of everything, with smart characters, original writing and a story that’s nearly impossible to put down. Can’t wait to see what’s in store with the other books in this series.

Another heart stopping story in this series. It is filled with everything I come to expect from this author and a mafia story. Undying love, devotion and of course some blood, war and backstabbing between everyone. We dive deeper Into the life of Sofia and her thoughts of Enzo. The relationship between Sofia and Enzo goes back years but has recently faltered. Their connection is electric and can easily be felt coming off the pages. Her family is the best and seemingly the most “normal”. They are a joy to watch between protectiveness and family changes. I love seeing all the families again and smile at all their secrets!
I enjoy how this author drops tidbits of possible future stories interwoven into each story. I read this quickly and look forward to the next in the series!

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley is a mafia romance with a tad bit of suspense.
Tragic events brought them together, and tragic events separated them. Enzo Vitale, the heir to the throne of the Chicago Mafia, would go to any length to keep Sofia safe, but his presence in her life makes her a target. He must safeguard the love of his life at all costs, even if it means keeping away from her, which goes against his entire nature. Sofia La Rosa, a young fashion designer, has been in love with her closest friend for years. Even when a wall of secrets grows between them, she’ll sacrifice anything for Enzo. Secrets, on the other hand, do not remain hidden indefinitely. When Sofia’s role in a previous cover-up is discovered, the adversary is out for blood, leading her to the very guy who promised to be her rescuer at any cost.
. I loved this story and the concept of it as well. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This author has quickly become my favorite and I can’t wait to read more.
Amy McKinley, what am I going to do with you? You have me hooked! I enjoyed Lil and Max’s story, however I don’t even think it compares to Enzo and Sofia’s story in Blood Oath. As children Sofia and Enzo made a blood oath to one another to always keep each other safe. Now as adults that blood oath holds a lot more meaning. Love for one another that they dare to act on. I get it, in a sense been there done that but at the same time, that man is now my husband. So I can relate to how she wrote the characters in a way. When love is involved secrets can threaten to destroy the whole thing, especially when those secrets are now what has Sofia’s life in danger! Sofia has to choose the best way to go about those secrets, because she could lose everything she holds dear. Get ready for a wild ride! Passion and connection to one another neither can deny. There’s so many characters in these books, when’s book 3 coming out? If that’s very much so, I can’t wait for who and what Amy McKinley writes about next in this series.
This is the second book in the Mafia Elite series and it was just as gripping as the first. The author does an amazing job with her characters making their stories grip you from the beginning. I love how are leading lady Sofia is a Mafia princess however she is determined and strong willed and can handle herself.
This is Enzo and Sofia’s story and it carries on from the first book where they were support characters. Now that Enzo is free from his arranged marriage the connection between him and Sofia becomes stronger than ever. However Enzo thinks that by being around him will put Sofia at risk like his sister and he doesn’t want to do that. Little does he know that Sofia is hiding her own secrets.
Sofia’s secrets are what is now causing the Russians to come after her and if the secret gets out it will have a bad impact on Enzo’s life. Can Enzo protect Sofia when he doesn’t know the reason why they are targeting her? Will Enzo and Sofia finally give into their love? And what will happen if this secret that Sofia holds is revealed.
To start this off, I would like to say that I absolutely loved the way the title of this novel is incorporated into the story surrounding Sofia and Enzo, it just makes what it stands for so much more! It’s no secret that Amy McKinley has quickly become one of my favourite authors, and I will be setting out to read all her of her adventures. Typically, my problem with this genre is that there are so many people that you must keep track of, that it takes away from the enjoyment of immersing one’s self into a literary work of art. This is not an issue with Ms. McKinley’s writing at all, especially since you get to know different members within the Five Families of the Italian American Mafia in the first installment.
Overall, Sofia and Enzo’s love story, gave me chills. You cannot help but root for them after all they have been through together, the secrets, the fear, and the hesitation they’ve both held onto for so many years. All this impacting not only their chance for true happiness and love together, but for their friendship that they’ve had for as long as they can remember. Her writing and her ability to allow you to connect with most of the characters that make up the novel, as well as making your mind work, is out of this world. I’m going to be racking my brain until our next adventure, fingers and toes crossed that we find out who the rat is in the Five Families sooner, rather than later. As always, highly recommend and will be reading the third installment “Born in Darkness” ASAP.
Book Review: Blood Oath Author: Amy Mckinley FIVE STARS This is the second book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy Mckinley. This story follows Sofia and Enzo. Sofia is a fashion designer and a Mafia Princess in one of the five families. The connection between Enzo and Sofia begins at a very young age during a tragic time in both their lives, they have endured so much in their years and the things Sofia has to tell Enzo now are heartwrenching. Will this change everything even more or will they find a way to overcome? This series is fantastic. I have never been a Mafia romance fan before but this series is really changing my mind on that. There is a fantastic mix of romance, suspense, action, drama and even murder. KLH
Yet again Amy McKinley had me on the edge of my seat from the very first sentence to the very last word. I just couldn’t put it down. I wanted to hurry up and read it to find out what on earth was going to happen next to these gorgeous characters Enzo and Sofia, but at the same time I knew if I rushed it then it would be over way too soon. Gotta say Sofia is a Badass! I just love her. There is so much action and suspense but at the core of the story is Enzo and Sofia and the love they have for each other. At every turn it seems there are obstacles in their way but if they can band together and face these challenges, then they truly can have everything they have ever wanted. The most important of all of course is each other. I can’t wait for the next books in the series….I have some hunches and I just need to know if I am right or not!!! the suspense is killing me!!!!

No Way Out: An Arranged Marriage Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 1) by Amy McKinley. This author never fails to leave me missing her characters. I’m very much in a mafia type of story frame of mind these days. And As always this author delivers everything I was looking for. The main characters in this story had my heart from page one but what really makes this story above the rest is that all the characters have something unique to bring with them to the storyline. I’ve read tons of books this year but I’ll be honest Liliana may just be my favorite female main character yet. Her and her relationship with her best friends is perfect and I loved my time with them. She’s totally kick butt and I just love her. If you’re looking for a story to get lost in look no further! Five huge stars and highly recommended!

Blood Oath is book two in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. This story kept me on the knife’s edge. Loved everything about this book . The names I loved. The complexity of each personality was individual and eclectic. The unfolding of their love story was a constant tantalising of the senses. Enzo and Sofia’s passionate feelings for each other was evident in each word the author shared. Their connection was enviable and beautiful. Secrets, danger and all.
These types of stories are an insatiable craving. I can never get enough. When Amy McKinley releases a mafia romance, you know you will be swept away by the creativity and blown away by the descriptive substance and rough edged characters. I am forever drawn to the dramatics and suspense. 5 stars.
Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley is another explosive romantic suspense story in this series. It’s a no brainer when I see Amy’s name come up I just know the story will be outstanding. I have been patiently waiting for this book and I wasted no time flying through it once I had it. This romantic suspense story is dark and dangerous and full of action, revenge and violence but that is what makes it a great read. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time and the intensity and suspense just pops of the page. The characters are complex and have a lot of depth but you can’t help but love them. He is the heir to the throne but his enemies know just where to hit him the hardest and that just maybe their biggest mistake. Reviewed by @jennadb
Blood Oath was a thrilling 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. I love the connection that these two had and you could feel it coming off the pages.
Sofia is getting ready for her first fashion show when danger rears its ugly head. It also brings someone back to her she hasn’t had a connection with in years. When they were younger they had made a blood oath and he vowed to always protect her until a nasty twist of fate changed things for them.
Will Enzo be able to protect her? Will they be able to keep their hearts out of it?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. You get some steamy scenes, danger, suspense and so much more. The secondary characters added a great element to the story, I loved how protective her brothers were. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.
Second book into this amazing series and Ms. McKinley has hit it out of the park again!!! Blood Oath is the second fantastic book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. As with the first book, this is a brilliant mafia romance- a romantic suspense story with an action-packed plot, secrets, dramatic developments, mafia politics, intrigue, tension, chemistry, steamy encounters, emotion, and more… This book continues what we started in book one, but this is Sofia and Enzo’s story (whom we met in book one as supporting characters). I loved all the interconnected details and intriguing threads that Ms. McKinley is weaving through her stories, and series. It makes for riveting reading. I have a new addiction and I can’t wait for my next fix!!! Seriously, if you love mafia romance, and/or romantic suspense, then you definitely won’t want to miss this exciting story/series!!! Enjoy!

What a great second book!! Completely love this series! Ms. McKinley does a fantastic job of making her characters realistic and personable. Enzo and Sofia’s lives are entwined by tragedy from when they were younger. In response, Enzo takes a blood oath to protect her no matter what. When someone from the past comes back to haunt Sofia, demanding answers about a cover up, it requires Enzo to uphold his end of the oath. Will Sofia be able to confide in Enzo or will more tragedy strike before he can save her from the past?
The Mafia princesses and their men are fascinating! The world that they live in is dangerous and the men even more so to their hearts. I was instantly drawn in to the story of these families and at this point, I feel invested and cannot wait for the next one!
Blood Oath by Amy Mckinley is the second book in the Mafia Elite series. This book is every bit as exciting as the first book. I knew I had to make sure I had time to read all of this book when I started it because I would not be able to put it down and that is exactly what happened. The chemistry between these characters is unreal. It is evident in every page and completely believable. I was drawn into it and could not stop reading about them. Every single book by this author is just as good as the last. I never hesitate to pick up a book by this author and this book highlights exactly why. I would highly recommend this book and every book this author has written.
This is the second book in this series which is just as awesome as the first. I think this series just keeps getting better and better with each book. I highly suggest reading the first book before this one to help your enhancement of this series and the characters. This is an author I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are well written and they pull me into her stories right from the beginning. This book is no different. It is fast paced and hard to put down. The characters not only are relatable but also give life to the story. Enzo and Sofia have struggled with their relationship through tragedies and are about to learn that secrets won’t always stay secret. As enemies are out for blood, Sofia finds herself turning to the one man who vowed to save her. I really enjoy these two and what they bring to the story. Their growth and chemistry throughout the story just adds to the plot. This is a must read book and series. I highly recommend this book.
Amy McKinley has proven once again that she is one of the best romance writers out there today. The way the characters interact gives the reader the ability to perfectly imagine them in real life. The scene set up is so realistic and thought out that the events seem to be happening right in front of your eyes. Arranged marriages are a way of life in some cultures especially for those with daughters looking to increase their family fortune or power. So, it is no surprise that Benito Brambilla only keeps his daughter around for just that purpose, after all the mafia is a dog-eat-dog kind of world. Though enter Max who comes in with a suspicious background looking to mess up whatever plans Brambilla and is dad Antonio have in the works. At first it was a save Liliana scenario and reconnect her with her grandpa on her mother’s side and bring Antonio down for what he did to Max and his mom. As the tangled web starts to unweave more secrets slip out and more truths come to light. After all who really is Max? Who killed Liliana’s mother? Are Max and Liliana destined to be another casualty of a long-standing mafia war between two of the five families? This is a must-read book that will answer all these questions and leave you hungry for more. I cannot wait to dive into the second book in this series, they are that good!

This amazing author has done it again! I loved the first one in this series, and this one was certainly no different! I was so excited to read this novel, and I could not contain my excitement! The first book in the series I found shared a lot of back story and certain traits and those very traits came to light when reading this one! I was so hooked and the suspense as well as romance was real and truly addictive!
This one we follow mainly Sofia, (I loved her character by the way) she is living what she always wanted and that is to be a Fashion Maker/Designer. I mean this girl worked hard for it right, I mean nothing is going to come up that could potentially get in her way now would it? Throw in Enzo, very close best friend, who has the affection for Sofia as she does for him. Best friend, but dare not be lovers as they know their places in life, and that is a rule that must not be broken. Enzo is her protector though and will stop at nothing to keep her out of harm’s way. As the past resurfaces from the ground, Sofia is pushed into Enzo’s arms. Sadly, will he keep her safe even when her past comes up and stands between them?
For me it was not only the main characters, as well as the side characters that made the story. It was the suspense and how everything you want is here, but what did you do to get where you are? Was it worth the spot light knowing you still could lose it all? The passion was very real as much as the suspense, and this novel with the dangers and fighting to live, fighting to love, and fighting to see another day was a strong appeal for me in this novel. I was completely engulfed as I was reading and I wanted to know more and more and I could not stop reading seriously! It was very much well written! Amazing read!
In conclusion, I could say I was breathless as if I was running from a crime scene myself. Fear of what would come of Enzo and Sofia not only for their lives, but also for the very possibility of them being together with all surrounding them was constantly at stake, and I kept hoping for a positive outcome! I loved the writing, the story was amazing. Defiantly a must read and high recommendation from me!
The story of Enzo and Sofia. What an action-packed story! I can’t give away any of the story. You MUST READ THIS book. Starting from the beginning,, you are pulled into it by the memories of the childhood they went through and then through the trials and challenges they have when Ivan comes into town. Man, these two have been through so much together. If you read BLOOD OATH (book 1), Max and Lil will pay a visit. Enzo and Sofia have go through so much and they did a blood oath when they were younger. This is a true power couple. This is one of my favorite authors because she writes all her main characters so strong and capable. The writing is so well-developed. The action never fails to suck you in and hold you captive until the end. Give this series a shot. This is the second book and it is so worth reading. Highly recommend.
Tragedy brought them together, and tragedy tore them apart.
Heir to a throne, Mafia underboss Enzo Vitale will do anything to keep Sofia safe, but his presence puts a target on her back. No matter how hard he tries to stay away from the love of his life, the blood oath that binds them demands otherwise.
Up-and-coming fashion designer Sofia La Rosa fell in love with her best friend. She’ll sacrifice anything for him, even as a wall of secrets grows between them.
But secrets don’t stay hidden forever. When the enemy learns of Sofia’s involvement in a former cover-up, they’re out for blood, driving her to the very man who vowed to be her savior no matter the cost.
Amy McKinley is the USA Today bestselling author of the romantic suspense thriller Gray Ghost Novels, Deadly Isles Special Ops, Covert Recruits, Mafia Elite, Moonlit Destination series, Five Fates paranormal romance series, and several stand-alone titles. This author has done it once again. I love how each book I’ve read by her not only gets better but she does a great job of balancing just the right amount of action, suspense, and romance. No way out is the first book in the mafia elite series and is focused on Max and Liliana. The circumstances that bring them together are not ideal in any way but told through each POV you’re able to grasp how each one feels. I love that the author does a great job of giving each character a tragedy that motivates their part of the story. You can tell that each character including the sub characters are a little broken but the journey to the end is well worth all that makes you feel distraught. Max is what I like to call a man’s man meaning he’s tough, he is strong, and I view him as the kind of man you could just feel safe in his arms. Liliana is a strong female character who is very no nonsense. She knows what she wants and is willing to do whatever it takes even if it means her own peril. This author does not tell a story with a ton of fluff or extra unneeded hoopla which makes it 100 times easier to get into the story and the characters which I greatly appreciate. If you enjoy a good romantic suspense book, then you will want to pick this up immediately. The characters are strong, the action is immense, and you will immediately feel as if you’ve been transported into the story. I’m looking forward to book 2 in this series.

I just finished No Way Out. Wow. How so many families intermix and become enemies and allies. Lilianna is the daughter of mafia boss Benito. She is property and nothing else. She is to be used as a pawn to ensure alliances and power are gained. In the background forces from another side are trying to bring Benito down and save Lilianna in the process. This book had so many twists and turns. Just when you thought you knew what was going to happen, you get turned in a different direction. Author Amy McKinley did an excellent job bringing you into the mafia world. Going to be reading book 2. That’s a guarantee.

I fell in love with the two main characters and I’m sure you will too! I was surprised how quickly I dot hooked on the book. By chapter 2 I was unable to put it down.

No Way Out is the first novel in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley.
To protect the granddaughter of his mentor, Max, under disguise he invades the Chicago Mafia. His plan is to get revenge on those who have wronged him, but once he sees her, the plans change.
Under her father’s control, Liliana, has no escape and is only a pawn in her father’s quest for power. Meeting Max may take her from the prison of her father to another prison.
I didn’t think I was going to like this as much as I did. I do not read Mafia storylines all that much but when I do, I do enjoy them.
Liliana was a force to be reckoned with and I loved her strong character. Her relationship with Max as well as the progression was great to read.
I look forward to reading more of this series. I hope the second book releases soon.

No Way Out Love loss constantly, right? What can go wrong in the mafia life? Well everything. It’s a gamble who you love, who you lose and who you could be sold off to in terms of a better foothold in the mafia life. What does Max get out of this. Who is Matt? What is going to happen to Lil? Can’t something happen to this piece of crap Benito because he’s just no good for anyone. This book had me entranced and I read it in less than a day. The author Amy McKinley wrote this book so well you can’t help be pulled in. I be reading the next in her series as this is only book 1.

This book pulled me in immediately! With lots of engaging characters, No Way Out will definitely keep you on your toes. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing, as well as some romance, so there’s a little bit for everyone. Of course, there is also lots of action to be had. Even though I’m more of a sci-fi/fantasy reader, this easy read was a page turner that I would highly recommend to anyone!

Amy Mckinley is starting to become one of my favourite authors. This book was brilliant I could not put it down. Liliana is the daughter of the Mafia boss and Max is assigned to be her bodyguard. But she isn’t allowed to choose who she wants to be with, her father has a marriage arranged for her but it is only for his gain. Maybe yet she can’t fight the pull towards a certain sexy bodyguard.

Well this is the type of love and care I now need in my life. Liliana is a strong independent woman that carries some heat. What gets me is the mystery and the wonder what can happen next, and they did amazing with the cover art Max is yum! This is a story about an abused child that finds protection with a sexy man and his cousins. If you are a fan of mafia, crime, romance and wonder then read this. Five stars all the way and this is just book 1 I can’t wait to read more. I was completely immersed into this book, read it in one sitting and your still going to want more. This is the best so far by Amy McKinley. This writing has you truly visualizing the characters.

No Way Out is a riveting Romeo-Juliet type tale about two Mafia members. I’d heard a lot about Amy McKinley, so I had high expectations going into this book, and let me tell you- Yall. She does NOT disappoint! While it did take a second into the book for me to fully get a grasp of everything that was happening as all the characters were introduced, once you get past that part, it’s hard to put the book down! I absolutely loved it, and loved the way she wove the story around. 10/10, will be reading more of her books!
