No Way Out (Mafia Elite, book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Vanessa Watts

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amy McKinley has proven once again that she is one of the best romance writers out there today. The way the characters interact gives the reader the ability to perfectly imagine them in real life. The scene set up is so realistic and thought out that the events seem to be happening right in front of your eyes.
Arranged marriages are a way of life in some cultures especially for those with daughters looking to increase their family fortune or power. So, it is no surprise that Benito Brambilla only keeps his daughter around for just that purpose, after all the mafia is a dog-eat-dog kind of world. Though enter Max who comes in with a suspicious background looking to mess up whatever plans Brambilla and is dad Antonio have in the works. At first it was a save Liliana scenario and reconnect her with her grandpa on her mother’s side and bring Antonio down for what he did to Max and his mom. As the tangled web starts to unweave more secrets slip out and more truths come to light. After all who really is Max? Who killed Liliana’s mother? Are Max and Liliana destined to be another casualty of a long-standing mafia war between two of the five families? This is a must-read book that will answer all these questions and leave you hungry for more. I cannot wait to dive into the second book in this series, they are that good!
