We knew the bloodbath was possible, just not when or how our enemies would strike. In a heart-wrenching minute of blazing guns, the responsibility of getting retribution for the savage Italian Crime Family falls to me, Salvatore Larussio.

The fair-skinned beauty should focus on doing as she’s told and been trained to do. Suture and bandage quickly to stem the flow of Larussio blood. Instead, Natasha boldly defies me, trying to appeal to decency that after today no longer exists.

A man surrounded by fear and deception can sense it, feel it, and smell it in the air. There’s far more to Natasha underneath that icy exterior than she wants me or anyone to know. Despite that, she calls to my tainted soul as though she were put on earth just for me.

When I force the hot-tempered beauty to reveal her secrets, it can be our undoing, or a means to an end for a newly appointed Larussio King.

Or a revelation that will kill even the deepest of love.

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so sad this series is over! I felt like I knew every character in the series personally, this book is no different. The way the author writes is exceptional. I was kept engaged from the very first page and kept that way throughout the entire book. I really enjoyed Mia and her fierceness; she’s been my favorite character to date. While I’m sad the series is over, I am so glad I got to enjoy every book, and I can’t wait to see what the author has for us next.

Mafia life… Always having to look over your shoulder and dodge everything coming for and at you everywhere you turn. Mia is a smart cookie and seems to have a good head on her shoulders despite the life she was born into.

The amount of stress anyone would have to survive in that life would bring any weak person to tears. All Mia ever did was fight back. The strength of her character in the midst of abuse and the Mafia life is amazing.

I’ve always enjoyed a good Mafia story with good characters and relationships, and this one does not disappoint!! I loved watching their relationship grow and defeat all odds. Absolutely beautiful!

Rivals is the last book in the Mafia Elite series, and I found by the end of the book I wanted the story to keep going.
At the eginning of the book there is a breakdown of who’s who in each Mafia family, which is great if you’re not familiar with this type of crime drama, or haven’t read the provide books in the series. Rivals can be read as a stand alone novel.

The chapters written from the two main characters, Mia and Nico, point of view written in first person. This makes the story interesting as The reader can see how the story unfolds from each person. I found this technique pulled me into the plot and wondered what was going to happen next. The story is a fast paced romantic suspense novel with just the right amount of romance thrown in the action. I will be going back to read the other books in the series!

If mafia romances are your thing, you need to grab not only this book, but the entire series to read. You could read this a a stand alone if wanted but if you want to be able to relate to the characters, you need to read the other books in the series, this is book seven. As usual the author reels you in quickly the suspense and then with a bit of romance mixed in between. This book didn’t disappoint and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next mafia family

Mafia romance at its finest! I have not read any of the previous books in this series, and though I’m sure it would have added to the storyline I did not feel like I was missing any information! I loved the relationship between Mia and Nico, this author did a great job making you feel like you know the characters. I was drawn in from page one and could not put it down. I definitely feel the need to start back at the beginning and read the rest of these books!

Rivals: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 7) by Amy McKinley – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is most definitely for those over the age of 18.

In this instalment of the Mafia Elite series, it is the turn of the quiet brother, he may not be one of the loudest in the family, but he is just as deadly as his other brothers, he is able to blend into the background, which is useful when he needs to glean information and he is extremely observant, because of this, he is underestimated, but not by Mia Tucci. Mia is a New York Mafia Princess who turns up in a place she shouldn’t after escaping from her own Mafia family, they only want her as a bargaining chip, but she wants more, she wants one of the Chicago Mafia brothers and she will do everything to get him and the safety she do desperately craves. So Mia offers a deal he cannot refuse, but first he needs some more information and calls his family to help, but as he waits, he considers her offer and what ramifications it could have on the Five Families.

When he and his brothers have explored all the angles to the offer, it is accepted, but only on the condition that she helps to take her family down, this is something Mia readily agrees to and so a bargain is struck, so Mia is whisked away to Chicago to meet the rest of the family and cement the deal, but she isn’t just wanting a business deal and so she tries to get to know this elusive brother. Mia’s attraction is mirrored, with violet eyes and midnight coloured hair, she is beautiful as well as dangerous, but as the two get to know each other their walls start to come down and it becomes harder to keep things on a slow path for the two.

Meanwhile, plans are being made to take down the Tucci family, but will the information she has to give them be worth it in the end and will the Five Families come out of this intact, or will the danger be too high and consequences to dire? This is another dark romance with a thrilling side as two dangerous individuals come together to create a pairing which could burn the world down, but only if they let it, as they play a dangerous game over two cities and a high body count.

This is my first book I have read by Amy McKinley and all I can say is WOW! There is a reason I read this in one day. I could not put it down and I kept telling myself, one more chapter! Is it 3AM and I need to be up in 2 hours? Yes! Do I care? No, because I am almost done! Thanks to my caffeine addiction and Amy’s wonderful writing I didn’t get any sleep. But hey, it’s okay, because now I get to binge read this entire series!

I was a bit confused by all the different characters, let me tell you, there were a lot. Thankfully at the beginning of the book there is a list of who is who, and who married who, etc. But I am more of a picture person, so a big family tree of everyone would have helped me more. It’s okay though, because I got through. This was labeled as a standalone book in a series, and yes it was, Amy did an excellent job explaining the past to help you as the reader, and Mia as the main character catch up and know what is going on. I feel that I would have been a bit more interested in the beginning if I had read the first 6 books of this series.

I will admit, I was a bit jealous that Nico had such a big family and how every character had each other’s back. That made me wish I had something like that! Just another thing I get to daydream about. Alas, I still have to remember that there is a real world outside of Amy McKinley’s wonderful books.

Nico, oh Nico! He is the man of every woman’s dreams. When Nico and Mia made eye contact for the first time, you knew it was meant to be! I love their story, the character growth, how they would do anything for each other. Let’s be honest, Nico is just a big Teddy Bear with a tough outer shell. Mia’s father and step brother? They deserved everything that happened to them, and then some.

Do not mind me, while I buy every physical copy of this series, and all of the other books by Amy because she is such a good author and this book is so well written, descriptive, funny, full of adventure, and of course romance! Thanks Amy!!!

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you have been following along with the Mafia Elite series you will know that this series needs to be read in order and that all of the books are intertwined with the others. This is book seven and the action begins in the very first chapter, so hang on. This author really knows how to get things started:

A tsunami of dread rose, and I balanced precariously on the crest of the giant wave…

Mia is one tough cookie and has been a Mafia princess her entire life. But in the mafia, princess does not mean what you think it means. No birds singing, no rainbows. Mostly death, blood and betrayal.

Nico is a Mafia prince, son of the La Rosa family boss, Robert. His destiny is with the family. Life is not easy when you are in a Mafia family but happiness can be found. Sometimes in the unlikeliest of places.

This story is not for the faint of heart as there is Mafia mischief and sweet sweet revenge.

Collateral Damage (Mafia Elite, #6)Collateral Damage by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Trey is one of the best surgeons around and for all outward appearances is a saint. Everyone who meets him is instantly smitten with him and his charming demeanor. The nurses he works with, both young and old alike, swoon over him and fight to get his attention. Trey, however, is not interested in anyone since losing his one and only true love. This, along with his involvement in the Mafia, are things that Trey does not openly share with many. Then he meets Hailey at a charity event for the hospital and he finds himself attracted to her. Feeling as though he is betraying the memory of the love he lost Trey puts Hailey out of his mind. Hailey, feeling hurt after being rejected by Trey, also tries to put him out of her mind.

All of that suddenly changes when Trey’s boss at the hospital asks for Trey’s help to save his stepdaughter, Hailey, after she is abducted. He is aware of Trey’s involvement in the Mafia and feels that having Trey help is the best option because of Trey’s connections. He also does not want to risk police involvement for his own sordid reasons. Before long, Trey has found Hailey and when she explains what her stepfather has done Trey and Hailey decide to team up. Together they follow a trail of money that leads them farther and farther into danger as they unearth dark secrets that put both of their lives at risk.

Trey is the ultimate blend of good guy and bad guy mixed perfectly together in one sexy package. Hailey is a girl on a mission to stop her stepfather from his self-serving ways. Together Trey and Hailey make a great team as they fight evil and corruption together. I really enjoyed reading to see what would become of them and if they would realize their feelings for each other. I was intrigued by the secrets they unravelled and completely thrown off guard by the twist at the end. I highly recommend this book!

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nico is content with his life within the Mafia and at peace with who he is. He is happy to be alone and not allow any woman to penetrate his heart or get close to him. Then along comes Mia, who has sought him out to enlist his help with her father, a well known and feared New York Mafia boss. She has known Nico for a long time and feels as though he is the only one she can trust and the one person who can help her. Mia asks Nico to marry her and offer her protection in exchange for information on the underground sex trafficking ring that her father and stepbrother are running. Mia wants to expose them and take down their operation. She also wants her father out of her life for good and will do anything to stop him. Nico is reluctant at first to help Mia, but he finds himself strangely attracted to this beautiful woman. He also feels the strange need to protect her from the horrible things she has had to endure at the hands of her father and stepbrother. Mia was reluctant to ask Nico for his help and unsure if she can trust him but is desperate for love and protection, things she no longer has since her mother passed away. Tired of being abused and used as a pawn in her father’s sick games she feels there is no other option.

Although Nico and Mia come together in one of the most unlikely of ways the attraction between them is undeniable. The author does a great job of unfolding the story of Nico and Mia as she builds up from that initial attraction they feel for one another and how that attraction builds into love. It seems Nico has finally found a woman who can penetrate the thick armour he has built up around his heart and Mia has finally found someone to love and protect her. As their story unfolds the reader is drawn into a world of crime, danger, suspense, action, and romance. A must read!

Dominik, who is in the Bratva brotherhood, tries to steal from Leah, but it gets botched. Now he needs to find out Leah’s history in order to have leverage over her to keep her quiet. Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This entire series is full of intrigue, passion, violence, loyalty, love and family. Each book has shown a budding relationship between the men of the Five Families of the Chicago Mafia and their incredibly loyal relationships between each other. As the families have continued to grow, there is a quick rundown at the beginning about who is who, and who they belong to – I always appreciate those.

This book focuses on Mia Tucci, a New York mafia princess who holds no love or loyalty for her own family – as they never had any for her. She was a tool, a pawn – her entire life. Used to make men feel stronger. On the plus side, she was always well taught to protect herself and trust her instincts – as well as ignored in most instances, so she can witness the horrors her father and stepbrother have been committing. They run a sex traffficking ring and Mia has finally decided she has gathered enough information to take them down, assuming Nico accepts her offer.

Nico is the “last brother standing” in regards to meeting the love of his life, and he’s ok with that. When he turns on the beach at their family safe house to find Mia Tucci pointing a gun in his face, he doesn’t feel afraid for his safety so much as he feels interested in what she may have to say. When Mia lays out her plan, which includes marriage to Nico, he accepts the responsibility of protecting her but they have ground rules to set.

Together, they realize they are attracted to one another, drawn to one another, and care for one another. There is danger, romance, drama, violence, family and love from all fronts in this book of the series. There are also some darker topics, so trigger warning for those. I couldn’t put ANY of the Mafia Elite series down and have reread them several times. Do yourself a favor and read these books!

I have loved every single book in this series and I loved this one just as much. I’m sad that this series has come to an end, it’s like losing friends. This author writes in such a way that I feel connected to the characters and become completely engaged in the story line. This book had action, romance, suspense, twists and turns, and amazing characters. You don’t need to have read the previous books to read this one but it’s my opinion that you should not only because they are amazing but also because you have a better back story of the characters. Nico and Mia are very strong, stubborn and intelligent people and I enjoyed reading their story. This is a must read.

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley

DAAAYYYUMMMMMM! What an ending! I have been a fan of this series since I picked up the first one. Each additional book only made me love these characters more. I wondered how to become a member of one of these families. I am still willing.

Nico is quiet and thoughtful. Most would overlook him as just another meathead enforcer, but he is so much more than that. He is a tech-wiz. He is loyal. He is brutal when needed. When the missing Mia Tucci points a gun at his chest and makes him an offer he wants to refuse, Nico becomes so much more.

Mia has been on the run for a while. She is trying to outrun a fate worse than death for her, marrying a man she despises to better her father’s standing. Most of her life her father had her studying the other families and Mia developed a crush on Nico, even stealing intel photos of him. Now, she sees Nico as her only option not only to escape her family and the awaiting fate but to help her correct some wrongs her family has committed. The only gamble in her entire plan is getting Nico to agree.

This chapter fantastically rounds out the series. And, nicely segues into the spinoff brother series. I love these characters, their fierce loyalty to their family and friends, the strong female badass characters, the devotion to their spouse, and the laughter they enjoy. I would join the Verretti family, too. I am already hooked and awaiting that series. Although I think you could add one more to this one by giving Tony a love interest. Think about it. Mostly, I just don’t want to say goodbye to these characters. I love them.

This last installment was magical and intense and ahhh-mazeeee-zing. Thank you, Amy!!!!

This book is book four in the series and can be read as a standalone. I’d recommend a reading age of 18+ as there are some adult situations and lots of steam. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I have some catching up to do.

Dominik just has to do a job, which has never been an issue before, but now Leah steps in to prevent him from stealing a car and now everything is upside down. This interaction causes a rollercoaster of emotions and lots of drama. Leah has secrets and Dominik is learning that some rules should be broken.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The chemistry is off the charts and I couldn’t wait to see what the next page would bring. It was not hard to dive into this story until the end!

Wow, this plot…it’s just fantastic! I mean we have a mafia princess, a human trafficking ring, and a marriage of convenience. What’s not to love? Mia is taking charge of her life. She decides to get away from her father and the human trafficking, but she knows that will be the ultimate betrayal. She needs protection so decides to go to her family’s rival. She approaches Nico with a proposal of marriage. One that will benefit them both. Nico is the epitome of quiet strength. Their arrangement may be of convenience but their chemistry is undeniable. The author’s grasp on this subject is absolute. She is queen of mafia romance.

Romantic Suspense is probably my favourite trope to read and this is a great example of a thrilling romantic suspense novel. This author was new to me but I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to try a new author. I can certainly say that I will now be reading more of this author’s work. In particular, I want to read the other books in this series.
This is the 4th book in the Mafia romantic suspense series but each book can be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel that I was missing any necessary information to enjoy this book but I’m now intrigued by the other couples who appear in this book and want to find out their stories.
In this book we get the story of Dominik Popov, car thief for the Bratva. He’s never had any issues when stealing a car until he tries to steal the beloved Audi R8 of country music sensation Leah Hart. Has he finally met his match?
I loved both Dominik and Leah as characters. It’s very much an opposites-attract story as well as a romantic suspense. The story is action packed from the very beginning and the author does a great job of keeping you gripped and entertained right up to the end. It’s very much a page-turner.
I guarantee you won’t be disappointed with this book.

Mia. Nico. She is a force for sure and he is her equal. After being used as something to gain power Mia took her life into her own hands and sought out Nico. This book brought me to tears because of Mia’s story. She has never known unconditional love and continues to fight for what she deserves. She’s fierce. Nico is the underboss of the La Rosa Family Mafia. He is a computer nerd and is the only one that hasn’t found his other half. There is love, action, comedy and so much more in this book and I didn’t want it to end. Nico gives Mia everything she’s ever wanted and what she deserves and Mia shows Nico that she can be trusted in ways he never thought. They come from rival Mafia’s and neither of them trust each other from the start.

Thief (Popov Bratva #4)Thief by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am part of Bratva royalty, good at my job nothing fazes me, until one car, one red head and my world may come crumbling around me if I don’t not do something about it. Although I live my life in the shadows and she is a celebrity who thrives in the light, can this be anything more than attraction?

Leah Hart is the country’s sweetheart but what lies beneath the surface are secrets which if anyone found out would ruin her, but when she tries to stop someone stealing her car, she is not prepared for the rollercoaster of emotions and feelings that are brought to the surface within this encounter. The only problem is he is not the type of person she should be with but when have emotions ever been easy.

I have to say this book had me griped from the first word to the last, the writing was brilliant, and the story flowed with chemistry and action which kept your interest throughout. I must admit I am a sucker for a bad boy especially a Mafia bad boy and the character of Dom does not disappoint, with his broody, hidden in the dark persona just added to the mystery of him and learning about him enhanced the story along the way. The character of Leah was a great half to him, I loved the sassy nature of the character and that she was not afraid to push against the boundaries that Dom has stacked up for his self which added another layer to the story.

Although this is the fourth book in the series I read this quite easily as a stand alone book, although I can imagine that the secondary characters within the story have either there own stories or are getting there own stories in this series and to be honest it does not take a lot for me if I really like a series to add the previous books to my every growing TBR list lol. I can’t wait to read more books by this author and thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Wow! I can’t wait to read more of this series! I loved every second of it! Leslie Georgeson creates an immersive world full of danger, fast cars, steamy romance, humor, and wonderful characters in this enemies to lovers mafia romance. I suggest you pick up her first book in the series and join The Popov Bratva from the beginning, but if you dont you can definitely read this book by itself too. This book gave me serious fast and furious vibes with the sexy fast sports cars and the fast paced action. From the first moment we are introduced to her I fell in love with Leah’s character. She is determined, strong, and a little bit reckless especially when she is flipping her kidnapper Dominik the bird. Their relationship is complex and steamy! Georgeson’s vivid descriptions, especially with certain characters’ looks, made this story so real and interesting. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series and catching up on the ones I missed! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hot romance series to sink their teeth into!

Thief (an opposites attract, enemies-to-lovers Mafia romantic suspense) (Popov Bratva Book 4)

Both the author and series are new to me and all I want to know is how did it take so long for me to find Both of them?

Leah and Dominik’s story grabbed me from the very beginning.  I have read tons of books and never have I had one start quite like this and I enjoyed every second of it.

There was so much suspense and danger all the way through and it kept me on the edge until the end.

Leah has quite the past. She left her old life behind, but it wasn’t as far behind as she expected and it was much more than I expected.

Dominik feels a little restless, or at least that is how I interpreted it.  Still reeling over the events from the past year has him making decisions he never would have in the past.

I am so glad I have found this book and now the series,  will add the older ones to my never ending TBR list and plan on looking for the next in the series. I really like this group of characters and I’m looking forward to catching up with them.

Thief (Popov Bratva Book 4) by Leslie Georgeson – Review by Chelsea Foster

Thief (Popov Bratva #4)Thief by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was way, way, more than its title. Thief was action-packed and full of two characters who had walls up for days. Leah had secrets buried, deep. Dom was grieving and taught himself from a very young age not to allow himself to get close to someone or care, people die. The chemistry and the story that unravels between these two is heartwarming and I loved every second of it.

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7) by Amy McKinley – Review by Colleen Noyes

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sadly this is the last book in the series. I have loved the series as a whole so much and the final book did not let me down. Mia Tucci and Nico come together in a rather crazy way, but watching as their story unfolds will leave you excited and satisfied.

All of the usual character are back along with new ones and the secrets uncovered set you up perfectly for the next series this author has revolving around the Verretti crime family.

This authors writing style keeps you on your toes and engaged from page one to the last page. I’m never left hanging or disappointed. You are always guaranteed romance, suspense, and a happy ending. I enjoy how you can tell she does thorough research and writes for the love of it. You always feel like you are reading the people you know and that makes every story connect to me.
