Whoa! This book is amazing! I loved all the danger and the drama (you know how teens are). This one is a bit different from the previous stories. A Slower pace and more depth. We get a ride with the grizzled Grumbler who is knocking on sixty’s door. He is gruff but fair. Even though he is older I liked his outlook on his life and the club. I also enjoy his attention and kindness to Alicia. I love the relationship they build enough that she can smart mouth him on some things. I can’t stop smiling during the scene near the end. Alicia get told some information from her mom and Grumbler comes in.

The characters are well written. They are full of honesty and fire. From the teenager all the way to the older biker. I enjoyed being brought into their worlds and learning what makes them tick. We get more insight into the Devils members also with this story. Plus we get a bonus of a couple characters from Utah (which I thoroughly loved).

Overall this is a wonderfully written story. I couldn’t put this one down and read late into the night. That’s last few scenes at the clubhouse i enjoyed immensely and make me feel young again. It does have a few dark elements but nothing I haven’t seen before pertaining to MC’s. The characters are written with depth and feeling. They just make me want to know more.

Grumblers Ride by Manda Mellett a five-star read that won’t leave you grumbling. This is number two in the San Diego chapter, this one is my favourite of this author and I have read a lot, so that’s something, as I don’t usually have a clear favourite. This one does have triggers and one short part really made me catch my breath and need a extra drink. But it was a part of the story and did add something to it, and that’s why this author always writes a compelling story, as they write difficult in a great way, its gritty and hard but so well don’t that you get sucked in and really feel the emotions. Grumbler was such a lovely character, watching him grow and become the man you knew was under the surface and watch everyone realise what was there all along, was amazing. Do pick this author up and do fall in love with a Grumbler.

I don’t always get to read stories about older people. I was really surprised at how it turned out. I shouldn’t have been Manda Mellett is a really good author. I found this story to be refreshing and believable. We all think that with age we are settled and there is no worries. In this story or lead Pasty is anything but settled. Her life hasn’t been easy. She is tired and ready for a change. I really understood Lost character. He couldn’t really find his way. There are days when you just don’t know which way to go. Liked that they both weren’t looking for it and yet they found each other. Being Lost is how most people are feeling in 2020. You just get up and do because there is someone counting on you. I really enjoyed this first book I am betting book 2 will be even better. I am happy that I got to read such a great story. The character great and the plot good. The author has a great flow.

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Grumbler’s Ride is the 2nd book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego Chapter. I first started reading Manda Mellett’s work with the original Satan’s Devils MC chapter and have been a huge fan of her Satan’s Devils MC books ever since. It totally amazes me how she can come up with new and amazing stories each time.
In this book we have the story of Grumbler and Mary. One thing I loved so much about this book is that Grumbler is in his 50’s and Mary is 47. On my next birthday I hit the dreaded 50 and I love that Manda Mellett has chosen to write a romance for the older character. It makes such a change from the usual 20 and early 30 somethings that we get in most romance novels. I loved that we get characters who no longer have perfect bodies and can still be sexy. It gives hope for us oldies who have far from perfect bodies.
I think I say this in every review I write for Manda Mellett’s books but I love that in addition to the romance there is always a fantastic storyline running through the book that has the reader hooked just as much as the romance and this book is no different. The storyline running through this book is quite dark at times and can make for difficult reading but Manda Mellett does an amazing jobs as always for making it such compelling reading. I was totally hooked and did not want to put this book down.
I absolutely adore the men (and women) of the Satan’s Devils and can’t wait to see what Manda Mellett has in store to delight us with next. I will definitely be reading it.

Grumbler’s Ride is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series by Manda Mellett. This particular story is about Grumbler, the sergeant-at-arms of the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devils MC, and Mary. Grumbler has given his life to his club, as most do when they are part of a motorcycle club. He doesn’t have an old lady or any kids, it seems that his bike is his only companion. Things change for Grumbler when someone wants to feature his bike and his path crosses with Mary’s. Mary is a single mother to her seventeen year old daughter. Like many seventeen year olds, she wants independence but acts like a child at the same time. Mary tries her best to stay ahead of her daughters pursuits, but this time she wants to model and refuses Mary to chaperone. Mary’s motherly instincts kick in but it might be too late. Thankfully Grumbler is there to help. Like many other novels by this author, she does an amazing job walking the fine line of heavy subject matter. She does so in such a tasteful way that she is able to bring awareness to some controversial topics. This story did not disappoint one bit and I look forward to reading other stores in this series.

I never get tired of reading books by this author, I often wonder how she can write so many books and never repeat storylines but she doesn’t. Every character is different and they always have a way of making you fall in love with them straight away. I really liked Grumbler, he was a little more mature than I first thought he was going to be so I really liked that about him, I really liked this connection he had with Mary, they were both great characters to read about. This is the second book in the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devil MC and it looks as though it’s going to be a great division to read about.
I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series! This is a highly recommended series.

Grumblers Ride is the second book in the Satan’s Devils San Diego Series by Manda Mellett. The story follows Grumbler, who is the chapters Sargent at Arms, when he by chance meets a photographer who wants to take pictures of his bike. Little does Grumbler know that this chance meeting will mean meeting Alicia and her mum Mary. Who will soon become important fixtures in his life. As with all the Satan’s Devils books, this book has a strong alpha main character looking out for his “family”. What I liked about this book is that both the main characters were older (50’ and 40’s) and wasn’t just a first love, happily ever after story that you can find with some romance novels. I really enjoyed this book, and as an avid reader of all the Satan’s Devil MC books I am looking forward to the next one.

I was once again transported into the motorcycle club world and boy I was not disappointed! I really like how the author brings the characters to life. I feel as though I am truly there part of the action. I also like how the romance is subtle. I really like how there is a mix of action and drama.

I really like how Grumbler and Mary come together. It is the very definition of opposites attract. I really like how the characters are believable and down to earth. I like how the author is able to bring the romance and drama together. The author has a very refreshing writing style that just hooks the reader from the first page. I really cannot wait to read more from this author in the future.

Grumbler was no different. He thought he was too old to settle down and he was content living his life with his brothers and his bike. Until he met Mary. You will not be disappointed with this book or better yet, this ENTIRE series!!!! This is one author that I wait on pins and needles for new books to be released! I definitely can not wait to see who is next!!! I am hoping it’s Dusty and see what happens after he catches the bouquet!!!

5 +++++ Stars

Whew! Took me a bit to get my thoughts together on this newest installment of the Satan’s Devils. Started a bit slow for me which was a shock because normally I’m done and hooked after the first page, but I’d say an eighth of the way in I was completely invested. Then by the end I realize this is now one of my favorites from the many books in this series that spans a few cities and charters.

Not gonna lie, there was a scene that had me putting my kindle down and having to walk away for a while. It made me need to focus on something else to get my mind off of what I’d just read. By the time I picked it back up I was plotting and planning right along with them to have a few people meet Satan. Serious respect for this author’s ability to get through that part of writing this story.

I loved Grumbler, and equally loved Mary, and Alicia became one of my favorite people towards the end. There were so many things I loved about this story. The family aspect of the club came through loud and clear and bringing in Utah was genius and I feel absolutely needed in that ongoing storyline. I feel a building of that open storyline coming and can’t wait to see how that plays out.

I wanted an epilogue a few months ahead at the end of this so bad, I kept trying to turn the last page and nothing… I so hope we don’t have to wait very long, I need to know how it all turns out.

Once again I finish a Manda Mellett book and wonder who is next, what charter will it be and realize I don’t care…I just need it now!

Awesome story, awesome characters, there are so many books but reading them all gives you the whole of this amazing MC…That is my goal someday to start and go all the way through rereading every single one!

I love MC romances, the rougher and dirtier the better. I found a new MC author that kept me intrigued and wanting more. Being Lost, the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC – San Diego by Manda Mellett was so good that I need to go back and read her other books.

What a powerful couple to lead this MC. I will say that I’m not a huge fan of the older couple romance but Manda’s writing has me rethinking that. I can’t wait for more in this series.

I’ve come to enjoy Mellett’s works that stem from her imagination. This is a plot-driven narrative with a blend of romanticism and love with a mix of lust. The characters seemed easy to see through your mind’s eye. Their interest gets deeper as Grumbler helps Mary with a child who is not even his own but he’s the perfect hero for the job. This is yet another favorite going into my vault from this author.

5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Grumbler’s Ride (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2) by Manda Mellett. It is a story that grabs your attention from the very beginning, and I was hooked. I love the characters of Grumbler and Mary. They both know that there is an attraction and chemistry between them. Will they take a chance with each other? What will happen when a situation blows up? Will she be able to lean on Grumbler? This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I grew to care about Mary, her daughter, and Grumbler with each chapter that I read. I could also see that Mary and Grumbler would be wonderful together and rooted for them to find happiness. I enjoyed reading about many of the additional characters as they have been brought forward from the first book. There are heartwarming moments as well as moments when I was wondering what was going to happen next. There is romance as well as suspense. The author does an amazing job of making both the story and the characters come to life. Don’t miss out on the awesome second story in the San Diego chapter of Satan’s Devils. I highly recommend reading it.

5 stars!

I am loving this series so far with the older generation! Grumbler never really seems like a rough guy to me, I guess his appearance is rough but every exchange he had with anyone, he seemed sweet. I love him and Mary together, and he finally found himself an old lady. It is fun to see what situation the boys will get themselves involved with, that ends up with them meeting their destined partner. This story made me so sad and disgusted with people that would steal children and make videos. I was happy to see the Utah chapter step in and help fight this ring. When Swift shows up to help, and has the honor of leading the torture, the guys find a new respect for her, and I think they finally see why she was patched in. The story was beautifully written, I loved every character and was very pleased with how Grumbler and Mary ended up. I love Manda Mellett’s MC series because the story is so much more than a hot biker hooking up with a woman, there is so much depth to each book. I can’t wait to see who comes next.

This is the second book in this series and I loved it just as much if not more than the first one. I was pulled right into the story from the beginning. I highly suggest reading the previous book to get to know the characters better. I had no problem connecting to the characters as they bring the story to life. Who doesn’t love hot, steamy bikers, right! In this book we get to see Grumber. He has always felt that he doesn’t need a woman or family in his life until he meets Mary. She is a single mother of a seventeen year old who likes to push boundaries. Her daughter manages to get herself in a situation that something just isn’t right about it. Just when Mary thought she couldn’t take more and not sure how to cope until Grumbler. What happens next you don’t want to miss. They have such great chemistry together, I loved them. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Grumbler’s Ride (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2) by Manda Mellett
GENRE – Romantic Suspense
Page Count – 400 pages
Grumbler
I’ve given this club more years of my life than I care to remember, most recently giving them my all as sergeant-at-arms. My life is settled and just the way I like it. I’m too old to change now.
I’ve never had a woman to call my own, nor fathered kids, and never felt I missed out. My brothers sometimes joke my motorcycle is my old lady, and I can’t argue.
So when a photographer wants to feature my baby I can’t resist showing her off. It should have been simple, instead it brought complications that I never dreamed off.
Mary
I’m a frazzled single mom of a seventeen-year-old girl whose life seems to revolve around challenging me. She’s not quite adult, but doesn’t see herself as a child, constantly pushing at boundaries.
I spend my time trying to keep one step ahead of her, but if I give an inch, she takes a mile. Her latest endeavour? To model for a perfect stranger. Oh, the battles when I said she wasn’t going without me as chaperone.
I was right, something was off about the situation, but what it was took a while to emerge. I can’t imagine how I’d have coped if it hadn’t been for the gruff biker called Grumbler.
Note: This book is dark in places and may contain triggers.

Manda’s life’s always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman?

There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected.

Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.

Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

This is a story about one of the Satan’s Devils MC members, Road, who has a task to carry out that has been requested by the president of the group.
He had to make his way to Utah and look into other chapters, he had specific instructions to look into what goes on behind closed doors with the gang, making sure they are following the Satan’s Devil’s rules and regulations.

Road makes the journey with Drummer, and through this route, they did not know the mishaps that would happen along the way……

The twists and turns in this is brilliant.. This is really is an action packed ride but I find all the Stan’s Devils stores are a great read, the author really brings out a great story with each character.
Really enjoyed reading this and looking forward to reading more.

Wow! This book! This story! If anything could go wrong it does. It’s full of twists and turns as well as emotion. I’m going to try very hard to not give anything away. Utah certainly is a different sort of MC. But what they do have in common with all the others is their want, need and ability to trust their brothers and have each other’s backs. This story takes us in a trek through uncharted territory with this Utah group.

I loved learning, meeting and greeting all these new characters. As with any great storyteller, the author left enough unanswered questions that those with curious minds will want to know more. I will say my notes on this group have already been written over more times than I can say.

Swift is a different sort of female lead. She is strong..physically and Mentally(most of the time) She has confidence in spades (again most of the time). I liked her because she portrays a tough exterior and thinks she doesn’t have the normal female thoughts and emotions. She has had to fit herself to live in a mans world. Then Road come along.

Road hasn’t been a fav character usually because he is a background guy. I am glad he got his own story. He impressed me as i watched him grow and change in here. I can really fell the emotion and loss that Road feels throughout the book. The author does a great job with that.

Of course we get to see the boys from the Mother Chapter (so excited!). I loved seeing Drummer get all riled up throwing his dominance around. It’s been a while since I have seen him in action. (Smiling fondly) i love seeing how his brain works not discounting all the actions of the brothers he brought with him as well. It’s great seeing them all again.

Overall this is another great book by this author. I love all the interweaving she has done in this book..as well as the others. As always I look forward to more

Ok, these stories always suck me in and I abandon my family until I am finished. This one of course was the same way, but I have to say, Road’s story had me hooked but also screaming at him because we ALL know how Drummer is and knew it wouldnt end well.

I loved getting to see the secretive Utah crew and all the different dynamics here, which I promise you’ll want to hang on tight because this was not a ride I expected to be on!
I really am not one to hold much back but this is 100% a story you need to just dive in and read it because it has so many things happening you have to find them on your own.
As a new series for a new chapter of the MC, this can be read as a standalone or your first ever book by this amazing author. But I promise you, you will be binging everything she’s ever written after starting one.
Can’t wait to see where we are taken next here in Utah!

What a great way to start a spin-off series! Road Tripped is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC Utah series by Manda Mellett. In this book we start off in Tucson with Roadrunner aka Road. Drummer, the President of the Tucson chapter sends Road on a little road trip up to Utah to visit that chapter to clear his head and see what they are up to. Road was at the point of tasting victory when one accident cleared him of that. That one accident took every bit of his dream, so where does he go from here? Now, the Utah chapter is pretty different from all the others. Here he meets, Swift and boy does she take him for a loop. Not only does she take him for a loop, but so does the entire Utah chapter. Will learning about this club put him in danger of life or will it be just what he needs in order to find his way again? This book was better than I thought it would be. I was pulled in from the get go and couldn’t put it down. There was this constant mystery of who this Utah chapter really is and whether or not Road will leave alive. Not to mention this attraction to a woman that he has no business being attracted to. All of the characters and their back stories were amazing. There were so many twists and turns to make me want to continue to read the book. I cannot wait for the next book to come out!

In Road Tripped, we are introduced to the Utah chapter of Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils MC. Wow! I had been a bit sceptical – were there not enough Satan’s Devils chapters already? – but Utah really adds something new to the series and a whole new family of characters to get to know.
Swift is fantastic! Possibly my favourite character in the series so far. She is so cool and skilled and strong, but the thing that sealed the deal for me was when she reveals that she has Yorkshire Tea shipped over to America by her British parents. As a resident of Yorkshire, I have been known to bring a few boxes of our superior tea to relatives across the pond!
Something that really stands out in this book was the representation of disabilities. There are multiple characters with different disabilities, and these are represented sensitively and consistently. Road, for example, has a damaged knee from an accident. He can’t ride for more than a few hours at a go, so when he’s riding a longer distance it takes a few days as he needs to stop along the way. But over a short distance he’s faster than any of the other bikers. If he’s been standing for too long, someone usually notices and offers him a chair. We see him taking painkillers, using a walking stick, strapping his knee and doing physio exercises. Mostly, this is peripheral to the story and the action but it feels realistic and representative.
This book definitely gets five stars from me! I cannot WAIT to read more about the Utah chapter. Is it a good place to come into the series? I feel like I enjoyed it more having read some of the main Tucson series in particular, to get to know people like Drummer and Blade. You absolutely could jump in here though, as we get enough background for everything to make sense.

Road Tripped (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #1)by Manda Mellett

5out of 5 stars

Road Tripped is the first book in the Satan’s Devils Utah chapter written by Manda Mellett. I have really enjoyed reading Ms. Mellett’s MC series and I have read quit a few of them. The characters are strongly written and I loved this Utah chapter with their quirkiness and the way it played off each other. The plot was awesome with a few twists and turns and some secrecy.
Road has had dreams and now they will not come true due to another rider’s misjudgment, and his trial bike competition days were over. One split second and something that wasn’t your fault, stops you from participating in your chosen sport just when you are nearing the top? He was angry and he knew and nobody understand yes, he could still ride a bike but he could not ride in competitions.
Now his president asked him to go visit another chapter and see what is up with them yes, they are nice enough but his president thinks there is something fishy going on in the Utah chapter. The road should help him clear his head when he gets their he finds things you would never imagine.
Will Road get the answers for Drummer? Will he be-able to keep Utah’s secrets and go against his president and lie? Will Drummer understand when everything comes out or will he kick the Utah chapter out.
You will really need to read this story to find out.

Manda Mellet has gone and done it again, and has written another masterpiece! As with every book I’ve read from Manda, I was absolutely hooked from the first page of this book, clear through to the end! Manda has truly outdone herself with this one, Road Tripped is an absolute emotional roller coaster with so many twists and turns you won’t know what hit you! This author’s work is amazing, and i recommend it to everyone, even if you haven’t read any MC books before. I hadn’t read this genre before i picked up one of Manda’s book, but this author is extremely talented and i cannot wait to get my hands on another one of her books!

Road Tripped (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #1) by Manda Mellett was a good motorcycle club read. I enjoy the genre and really enjoyed wrapping up some previous questions. Like the other books, it’s really easy to dive into, not for the faint of heart if you haven’t read the genre. I enjoyed the pacing and plot points. Would definitely recommend!
