The cover is absolutely gorgeous! That was probably what got my attention. But the story had a hold on me from the first page. The author did an amazing job with world building and the characters, you just get so attached! There’s so much going on in this story but it doesn’t feel rushed. There’s magic, shifters, steamy romance and so much more. I highly recommend reading this book!
Bailey and the CEO is a sweet second chance at love type romance. The author gives you two characters who are single parents for different reasons, making them easily relatable. With character growth displayed without. If it be in the present or in a flashback, you can see how they’ve matured, especially with what they’ve been through. Bailey is a widow with two teenage girls in her life. She loves her daughters and her job. Yet at times she still feels like she’s coming up short. Though she lost her husband to a freak accident, she’s never moved forward with her life. Stayed out of the dating scene because it was easier. Until one morning flight to Detroit changed it all. Fox is the CEO. He’s also a divorcee with two well rounded teenage boys. At the same time he also feels like he is falling short in the parenting category. Running a company doesn’t give one much time for a life outside of work, but it also allowed him to notice Bailey. However after everything he has been through he’s hesitant to break his walls down. Even though he feels something for Bailey he can’t explain or has ever felt before. Unfortunately she’s not some random girl but a VP is his company. These two characters have so much going for them. But together it’s the fear that’s making itself known. Will they get by? Will they let their fears go and nosedive head first? Unfortunately there are some obstacles along the way that could derail them, including their own children. The author has you rooting for them to work out. You get invested and want what’s best for them. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I look forward to others in the future.

Unique new twist on a classic genre. This is not only the first book I have read by the amazing K. Rose, but it is also the first book I have read in the Silver Springs Universe. Primary perspective Basil, but also glimpses of JJ, Theo, and Jo. Basil was just a normal human until she woke up in the hospital after a fatal car accident and everything felt different, especially her body. Quickly discovering she was no longer a human but a vampire, her main fear was that she was a vegan, and she wasn’t about to change that now. Successfully becoming a truly vegan vampire, she starts over in the supernatural town of Silver Springs. Immediately after she meets her first employee and best friend Lainie. Soon after that she meets JJ and Jo, the owners of the local farm she got most of her ingredients from for her smoothie bar. They call her their flower, their mate. Still confused at the implications, enters Theo all in one day and is told again that she is his snowflake and mate. She never thought it was true vampires, shifters, clones, everything seemed out of a fairy tale, but the emotions were real and quickly she couldn’t resist the need and pull to claim them. Things were going great until hunters showed up and only saw her for the fangs and nothing more. Can Basil succeed in surviving and living out her new life? What will her mates do to protect their queen? This town honestly sounds amazing and the new twists on supernatural’s brought a refreshing outlook on a highly enriched genre. While I haven’t read any of the other books in the Silver Springs Library (yet), I loved the little cameos by previous characters such as Amber, Violet, and Sugar. I look forward to going back and reading each of their unique stories as well as looking more into this amazing author’s personal works.

This book was so cool and different! I loved the whole story. This is something I need to read my 3 year old! I think he would love this story and I might have to start doing this with him too! It’s super fun and a quick, happy read!
I really enjoyed this book. It is book 6 of the Chase Care series, but even though I didn’t read the others prior to this one, it was not a problem. The relationship between Tim and Willow is well developed and does have some spicy romance parts, but the majority of the book is a very captivating storyline with lots of twists and turns and lots of great characters. I appreciated the medical and military/security jargon to give the reader a deeper sense of the story. I did really enjoy this book and will more than likely go back and read some of the others in the series.

What a cute story. I love the new knowledge of culture, tradition and the Lunar New Year. The story is so full of adventure as well as siblings working together. While the girls are looking for their red envelopes, the reason behind the ergency is wonderful. A great story for our children and families alike. But even better for our children who are starting to read chapter books. The story is fast paced yet very interesting. The author for this story did a great job writing this book and I look forward to reading more from her.
Bailey and the CEO: A Corporate Love Story (A Better Man, Book 1) by Amy Q. Barker. This is the first in the A Better Man series and I can’t wait for the next one. Its a pretty clean, fun, second chance romance. Its the story of Fox who is the CEO of a company that Bailey works at. She is Vice President of her department and never lets anything come between her and her job except her 2 daughters. After her husband passed away she focused on nothing but work to get thru and she worked her way to the top. Fox has 2 sons and is also working his butt off to save this company but he has made it more than clear his boys are priority. When they meet on a plane ride they hit it off immediately and feel like they have known each other for years. Fox has always known that Bailey was beautiful but once he’s gotten to know her he’s smitten. This is such a pure, fun, love story that will keep you flipping pages until you are done!

Critical Care (Chase Care Series Book 6) by R.L. Dunn. This is such a fun series and this book was no different. Its finally Tim and Willow’s story. Tim is Facility Director for Chase Care in Washington D.C. and he is usually always on top of everything. He has taken ill with a mystery illness and Willow is determined to stick with him throughout. During Tim’s treatment its discovered that meds are being tampered with and contaminated. Having met in Maine in a hospital Willow has recently reached out to Tim in D.C. and has moved there. She has a bad past history with a very mean Doctor and she continued to be a travel nurse to not have any ties but since she met Tim she wants to place some roots. When Tim begins to get worse instead of better, his friends and Willow being to really investigate the contamination and find who is behind it. Will they find out in time? This is a great romantic suspense. It can be read as a standalone but I really enjoy reading them in order to get to know all the characters!

Family Ties Family Lies by Jacqueline Boulden. This is my first book by this author and it will for sure not be the last. I’m hooked! This is a great family drama filled with lies, secrets, sickness and facing your mortality. Its the story of Rose who is living her life in Philadelphia as a photojournalist doing just fine until she gets the call from home to come and care for her ailing mother. When she arrives home to Lake Amelia she is sucked into the small town drama. Realizing her mom is much sicker than she originally thought she is going to be here for a while. She decides to do some snooping and goes to the attic where she finds a whole secret box about a life her dad had that she never knew about. Being the journalist she is will she be able to let old secrets stay hidden or will she expose them and risk destroying lives of people she loves. The characters in this book and all the small nuances of the small town make this book so good and I can’t wait to read another book by this author.

The Missing Red Envelopes by Yobe Qiu is a sweet story about two sisters, Lorie and Weina, who are excited about the upcoming Lunar New Year. They are looking forward to the parade, food, and collecting lucky red envelopes that contain surprises. When Weina realizes that she has lost all of her red envelopes their celebrations turn into an adventure/mystery. I thought that this was such a cute and fun story. It is a great introduction to chapter books. The adventure with the sisters engages kids easily. I highly recommend this book.

When Tim begins getting worse instead of better, the Chase Care group sets out to track down the source, and hopefully the cure for their friend. This is the only book I’ve read in the series, but I really enjoyed the fast-paced mystery/romance.

This is the first book in The Better Man Series. This author has a way of writing stories that are beautifully written but also relatable. The characters are likeable and you can’t help but feel drawn into their story. It is a woman’s fiction story so it full of emotion which keeps you engaged in their story. This is a story about finding love in a unlikely place and realising what is in front of you. I loved Bailey’s character. She is so down the earth. She is a single mum to teenage girls so she has a lot on her plate already as well as a high powered position at work. Since her husband passed she has juggled it all by herself and in my eyes has done an amazing job. However her marriage wasn’t all sunshine and roses as her husband came across as being a little cruel always putting her down and making her feel like she is failing all the time, so when he passes this is her opportunity to find herself again, to rediscover who she is and what she wants from life. As she does that she catches the eye of Fox the CEO of the company she works for. Every women breathing is attracted to Fox and Bailey is no different but why would he look at her? There is nothing about her that’s special or attractive. But boy how wrong she is. Fox feels an instant chemistry with Bailey and is amazed that she doesn’t know how stunning she is both inside and out. Fox will stop at nothing until she sees herself has he does. This story is a really beautiful read. I feel a connection with Bailey as I’m a person who also doubts myself constantly and doesn’t see myself as anything special so I understand her confusion and apprehension when this stunning man who could have any women he wants chooses her. It is a sweet read and I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Detective Dylan and the Hunt for Home Plate is the second book in the A Youth Sleuths Chapter Book Series. This is a fun addition to this cute series. Its aimed for children ages 5-9 and is a good introduction to chapter books. The illustrations are wonderful and bring the story to life. My son absolutely loved this book and was trying to help solve the mystery. Follow along with Dylan and his sister as they solve the mystery of the Missing home plate. I highly recommend reading this book. My son and I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Outcast is the first book in Her Royal Harem series and I love the interesting take on this paranormal reverse harem with drama, secrets, shifters, magic with some twists and turns along the way. This is a new author to me and I am excited to see what is in store for Ember and the hybrid shifters that come into her life.
Ember, a powerful mage, lives alone in the woods far away from family and the city as she tends to wounded hybrids that come to her door. Ember’s parents do not want anything to really do with her, so living in this solitude she finds purpose. Strange occurrences come into play and Ember does what she can to help the wounded and cursed. When Ember discovers there is more to the cursed and her own powers, the hybrid shifters whom stay to help her with the mystery on why so many are being curse and whom is behind it all. Will Ember be able to solve this issue and will Ember be able to navigate finding out there is more to why her parents do not want anything to do with her….there is so much to this…
I am curious how this will all play out….as from the start of this story I was turning the pages to see what happens next and how the story plays out…..I cannot wait until the next installment comes out!
I have loved this series so much! Now you do not have to read the books in order but I highly recommend you do to get the full story of the Bennett family. This has been the best series. It has everything from sweet love to drama and some steamy scenes. This is the final book in the series and it has been a great ride. In this one we get to know more about James and he has such a compassionate heart. I laughed every time I read his nickname that Sara gave him, like out loud so that my household looked at me funny. This book really took everything home and made it complete. Of course I would always love to read more about this family but am good with how it ended. I cannot recommend this series enough! This author has a way with writing that feel good romance.

This book is a brilliant collection of short and steamy stories by an author that really knows how draw you in. I loved reading each and every one of these stories. The characters were interesting and well developed, with great chemistry. There weren’t any that I didn’t enjoy reading about. All the stories were easy to tell apart, with distinct stories and great plots. I enjoyed being able to read one in a single sitting, using any spare time I had to finish the book. Overall this is a fantastic collection of stories. My only complaint is that I could have read them all for so much longer!

Outcast is the first mouthwatering book from the Her Royal Harem series. I’ve never read a book like this before, but I loved it. Catherine did such an amazing job balancing plot, Character, and relationship development. I ate this book right up, and couldn’t get enough of waiting to see which bond would strengthen next. This book is centered around adult themes, and really helps make relationships like this become more widely common and accepted. I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book, because i have a lot of questions that I look forward to hopefully being answered!!

Fearless Love is a story about Sara, a single mom and traveling nurse coming to take care of a new client in Langston Falls. Sara is “running” away from her past, especially her son’s (Noah) father. Noah’s father never wanted him, but she was always worried about what would happen if he found out she never ended the pregnancy. However, she didn’t realize that by moving to Langston Falls, this may be the last running she would do. James Bennett, who owns and runs the farm with his family, is the son of Sara’s client. James first meets Sara because he yelled at her son about making his dogs sick. However, both quickly realize that there is an attraction and Sara recognizes the great man that James is. The two of them end up moving in together because she can’t find a place to stay. This “adventure” turned into a budding love, that just continued to grow. However, can Sara trust him since she has never been able to trust men? Can James trust that his heart won’t be broken as in the past? Can they trust that the ready-made family is the real deal? This was a cute romance story. Sara was a good character who was loving, caring, level-headed, and open to possibilities. However, James was my favorite out of the 2. He is a strong, loving, caring, cowboy type. He loves hard but is gentle and understanding, and a great role model for Noah. I loved his character and how he handled everything that came to him. I have read other books in this series and they were good so I am sure I will read others.

These books are such sweet reads and I love to see what Caspian is going to get for his ‘unbirthday’. This year Grandpa is making Caspian search for his present. I love the magical themes that run through this story – they certainly get children’s imaginations going. Children will enjoy following Caspian and helping his solve clues to find the hidden present. The story is short and easy to follow – perfect for children aged 4-6 in my opinion and it is accompanied by lovely, bright colourful illustrations.
This was another great read from this series – one that I am really enjoying. I loved Tim and Willow’s story – the author has done a great job with this series and cleverly intertwined all the characters but also allowing the stories to be read independently. The romantic suspense element to the story was great and I was certainly left guessing a few times. Tim and Willow definitely had a great connection and I loved watching their relationship evolve across the book, they definitely had some moments where they were up against things and it was interesting who they called upon for help! This was definitely an exciting read and one I would highly recommend.

I really do adore this author – she creates such wonderful, relatable characters that you can’t help but fall in love with them. Fearless Love is just another of those wonderful books that you love from start to finish. James and Sara’s story was a sweet read. There were so many elements to it though that I felt like I was on an emotional roller-coaster at times. This talented author definitely knows how to get you invested in her characters. I did like James, I know he was a little grumpy at times but there was just something about him that made me like him straight away. I though the chemistry between him and Sara was great, it felt genuine and believable. They had a great connection and that really shone through. I would 100% recommend this story.

I can’t help but LOVE a historical romance read they really are my absolute favourite to read. I was really impressed with this book and loved every second of it. The author did a fantastic job with the descriptive language and for me that is so important I this kind of story – I need to be able to imagine what I am reading in order to be transported back in time. I really felt for Payden – what a journey he has been on. I could really feel hard everything had been for him and everything he had endured. Clarice really wasn’t what I expected but I loved her. She was just so perfect for Payden and I felt like she was everything he needed to help him heal. This book could be read as a standalone however I’d recommend reading the whole series to understand the family dynamics! A fabulous read and one that I would highly recommend.

Another wonderful book for young readers. Again, as with the first book it’s such a great way to introduce younger readers to chapter books and continuing series books. The characters in the story are really relatable and the plot was easy and clear to follow. Dylan and his little sister, Emily, are on the case of missing bases. This book is great for capturing children’s imagination as they will be able to find and try to work out clues along with the main characters in the story.

Murder at Music Hall is Book one in the True North Murder Mystery Series. I love a good murder mystery every now and again, brings back memories of my grandmas murder mystery dinner themed parties she used to throw. Murder at Music hall was engaging, well-written, and had me hooked to the point that I had to get to the end to find out what really happened. I did feel, like some other readers, it was a bit wordy in some places which slowed the overall pace of the novel. I would still like to continue this series to see what else A. J. Ullman has in store for the reader.

I do not give 5 star reviews often but this book is well worth the 5 stars if you like fantasy adventure with a touch of horror aspects. The story has a lot of detail into the world the author created. There are vampires, archdemons, magicians and images, humans, and so much more in this fantasy story. My favorite part is how long the book is. It may take longer to read but it is worth the time it will take you. Enjoy!

It is summer time and Craig and Linda are on another adventure, however, this time they are not at Loch Ness in Scotland, they are at another place in Quebec, Lake Memphrémagog, far away from any monsters. Meanwhile, Angus, a seven-year-old boy, and his older sister Haining are holidaying at Loch Ness, and they are staying at the same place as Craig and Linda did.
One day Craig and Linda are talking to one of the people who live around Lake Memphrémagog and are asking about the lake and what lives there and in the end, they start talking about Nessie, so they make a plan to explore, after they have learnt how to properly do this.
This is how they find out about Princess Sheona who they find stuck in an underwater maze, but how will they be able to get her out and can Angus and Haining be convinced to help? This is a fantasy adventure which grips you from start to finish and teaches us all about bravery and being kind.

I am currently in my romantacy phase so this book fit right in with the types of books I am reading right now. It has a great story that builds as it progresses which it does quite quickly. I definitely liked the story and the delving into character backgrounds. I recommend checking your triggers before reading but it is worth a read especially if you like shifter romance novels. I did have favorite characters I liked being in the story even though they were not main characters so I do hope there is more about them in future books.
