When I picked up Nessie and the Celtic Maze I expected a children’s book, with lots of pictures, what I received though was a middle grade, short, novel, that didn’t have pictures. Although not what I expected I still really enjoyed the story. This is book number 3 in the series. I love Lois’s imaginative, engaging story writing.

Hay Goes Home is another wonderful addition in the Adventures of Cray childrens book series. This specific story is about Hay taking Cray home for her mother’s birthday. G pa talks about struggles throughout the journey, how it’s ok to ask for help if you need it, how you can rely on your friends, how to work together, and being brave. I enjoyed the beautiful illustrations along with the storyline and lessons that were able to be learned.

This was a very enjoyable book! Young readers who are learning to read in small chapters will love this story about Dylan and his little sister Emily. They are going to baseball practice and when they arrive, their coach explains that all the bases have been stolen. Dylan thought to grab his Youth Sleuth kit prior to leaving home so he and Emily are on the lookout for the stolen bases. They come across various groups of people in the park before finally locating the missing bases.
A super fun, adventurous book that features Theodore, who is Dylan and Emily’s dog. He’s also a part of their sleuthing team! It’s short enough to keep the attention of an emerging reader and would also make a great bedtime story!

Murder at Music Hall is the first book in the True North Murder Mystery series. I enjoyed it, and look forward to reading more from this series!
Trueman North has channeled his tragic past into a determination to find justice for victims of murder. He is focused and diligent, never taking the easy way out. Now retired as a detective and working as a PI, North has been hired by a man who believes that the wrong person was accused of his son’s murder. Now North must find the real killer, and why they did it, as well as proving that the man who was accused is innocent.
As North seeks insights into the victim’s life and death from a variety of sources, we get drip fed bits of information that may or may not lead to the murderer. Many characters have secrets, but not all of their secrets are clues. Some of the secrets are quite dark and may be triggering to some readers.
This is an engrossing read for mystery fans who enjoy a story that will make them think. I particularly enjoyed the orchestral setting as it’s fun getting to see behind the scenes at the orchestra. It gets four stars from me!

We were so excited to pick up another book by this author! I haven’t found anything I disliked about his books yet because he has such a way with words. Rhyming is great for kids, but I find myself bouncing along with the rhythm as well. Somehow, he created something that is part rhythmic fun and part valuable life lesson. The list of courage builders at the end was something I hadn’t seen before and made my kids add more ideas to their own courage lists! We all experience these big feelings like fear, panic, relief, and bravery, so to learn about it in a children’s book was fascinating! It should absolutely be focused on more with earlier development. The illustrations were icing on top of a delicious cake as well. I highly recommend sharing this with kiddos in your life whether that’s in your family or in your classroom!

This has been the cutest series we’ve read in a long time! This is the third book in the Nessie’s Grotto Series, and it is quite an entertaining adventure. Lois Wickstrom is one of our favorite authors, so my kids and I read this together with excitement. The way this world is portrayed is so magical and makes me wish we were part of it. You’re grabbed from the very first page and your attention is held throughout the entire book. We follow as we try to find Princess Sheona, who is Nessie’s Daughter. She’s stuck in a maze, and it seems like all hope is lost. Can Linda and Craig get to her in time? I highly recommend picking this up and enjoying it with the younger ones in your life!

This is the first book I have read by the author, K. Rose, and it was a pleasant, quick and fun read. While this is book 9 in the Silver Springs Pets Series, it is a standalone and the series can be read in any order.
The book has an unusual take on vampires that is quirky with a side of romance (reverse harem). Have you ever heard of a VEGAN vampire? No, I didn’t think so. On a horrible date, the FMC, Basil, is turned into a vampire and ends up in a supernatural sanctuary called Silver Springs. The FMC is a brilliant biomedical engineer and puts her skills to use to create a synthetic serum, so she does not need to drink blood – hence being vegan. I loved how creative this book was in every aspect, the plot, the world building, and the characters. At times it did remind me a tad bit of Twilight, specifically that the vampires are sparkly. I do wish that the FMC had more character development, but it was enough to still enjoy her character thoroughly.
This book will take your emotions on a rollercoaster – laughing out loud to crying. If you are looking for a quick quirky read that is drenched in spice, fated supernatural mates, glittery vampires, and full of adventure then I recommend you definitely pick this book up and read it! You will not be disappointed.

Wow! I just LOVE these stories! This was just as thrilling as the previous in the series have been. I read this in a couple days. The story is action packed with a suspenseful side. This just Wowed me! I loved how we dive right in and the story really entranced me. The main characters are nothing short of extraordinary. Finlay is so confident and strong! She won’t let another push her around or treat her poorly. She is not afraid to stand up for herself and the way she finagles her way in and out of tight spots is impressive. Drake is one of the team we learn a bit about in here. He basically has one job to do but does not realize who he is up against. Then he has to reassess the whole situation.
Secondary characters are plentiful. They all had a purpose and they served it well. My only issue is it seemed that once they were off-page they disappeared to either never be heard from again or until their purpose was served. I get the main storyline is about whats going on between the MC but a line stating they made it to safety or something would have sufficed.
Overall this is an exciting and thrilling adventure we tag along on. I look forward to more in this series!
This is the 2nd book in the House of Valdis series and we get a little more of Xenobia’s backstory. You really do need to read the prequel and the 1st book in order to fully understand what’s going on as we pick up roughly 6 months after the 1st book ends. I love the multiple POV’s we get in each chapter as it really allows you to relate to the different characters and gain insights that you otherwise wouldn’t have. This is a quick read and I can’t wait to see what Valkyrie has in store for Xenobia in the future.

This was a really intriguing and interesting read. It is a mixture of a crime, mafia, and romance all mixed together to create a unique story that I couldn’t put down. The author does an really great job with the characters as well. I loved Harriett. My heart went out to her as she struggles with things from her past as well as struggling with losing her father in the line of duty. She is on a mission to find out who murdered her father and knows she has to infiltrate the crime family to find the answers she is looking for. With her background and experiences she thinks this will be a walk in the park what she doesn’t expect is Trey.
Trey is part of the crime family and is set on working his way to the top. The chemistry between Harriett (Harry) and Trey is sizzling and could end up getting them both burnt. Harriett really wants him to change she believes it’s not too late for him to change but is she right? Could she be placing herself into a dangerous situation emotionally as well as physically?
This is a story filled with twists and turns, danger and intrigue. It is fast paced and I couldn’t put it down. I had to know whether Harriett solves the mystery of her father’s death and saves the man she is attracted to or if she will end up losing everything. This is a great read.

This was a good read. I particularly connected with how life unfolds as you are facing down turning 40. This was an emotional book packed with lots of things that trigger tears. The amount of depth the author put into creating a woven plot without being cumbersome was impressive. I enjoyed the characters and felt their relationships to be authentic.

This book is…different and not necessarily in a bad way…it’s just ehh. I liked the premise of it and the set up of a variety (and I mean variety) of supernatural beings living in a warded village together was fantastic. I think the biggest thing holding me back with this book is the plot development, character development, and writing. I liked the premise but there were so many plot hole or places where all of a sudden things just happened (or didn’t happen) and it didn’t really make sense or it felt really rushed. And I loved the characters. Basil, Jo, JJ, and Theo make for quite the interesting reverse harem BUT their development (or lack thereof) really hinders my overall feel for the book and in turn them. They weren’t developed much past their initial introduction and there are quite a few holes in their stories…especially Basil and she’s our main character. There are also some side characters that I would have liked to see have more development but were just kind of there or just got completely cast to the side by the end of the book. As for the writing…it was tolerable in the beginning but as it went on I just felt that it got more and more juvenile and it was hard for me to finish. I found my self rolling my eyes and sighing quite a bit at what was happening and what was being said. I really think this could be a great story with more development and it’s not a horrible book as is. It just wasn’t really my cup of tea. But it is a quick, definitely spicy read that would be great for in-between those longer books.

These books by G Pa Rhymes are always full of beautiful illustrations. I absolutely love them. I read these with my son and we enjoy them. They always have a great lesson too. This one teaches about courage and that it’s okay to ask for help sometimes. Cray and Hay are great friends going on an adventure. They also meet some new friends along the way.

Author Fletcher has written another beautiful love story and a perfect ending to a great series. This heartwarming, entertaining story about Sara, James and Noah is well worth the read and while it can be read as a stand alone, reading in order will fill your heart entirely.
Sara and her son Noah are adorable. Looking for a place to call their own, a place they don’t have to look over their shoulders, a place where they fit in and can settle down. As a traveling nurse that is hard to do until Sara lands a job in Langston Falls, home of the Bennetts! While not really looking for love Sara also finds James Bennett…”He felt like coming home…It was a sense of peace and joy, better than any fairytale or dream.”
James Bennett is fresh off an unexpected break up. He has decided to just live his life and enjoy his father and siblings. He would be fine. With his father just released from the hospital after a heart attack that shook the entire Bennett family, James gets to meet the traveling nurse that will aid in dad’s recovery, but first he gets to entertain her child, Noah.
Sara and James meet under special circumstances, a momma bear protecting her cub. Such a cute and endearing way for these two to finally meet. And knowing this author and this series, happiness won’t be far behind…but first there is the little thing about Noah’s birth father. While I am sad that this series has ended, I am looking forward to other stories this author will bring us.

Fox has had his ups and down, now the CEO of Havelin he is settled and the boys since his divorce, but his luck changes when he is seated next Bailey Grant one of his VP’s and a woman he has admired from a far. As the conversation flows and the chemistry is discovered between the two of them, Fox braves to ask her out which she accepts.
Over the weeks and months the relationship grows and gets stronger with feelings of love but when it comes to the crunch can they both overcome there histories and the stares of the company they will get.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a lovely romance novel about two people having bad histories to then finding the one person they should be with. Straight from the first chapter you get to see in the world of Bailey and fall in love with her instantly. I loved the way that the book had both POV’s but you had a fair few chapters in that persons mind which I think in better than swapping each page it sometimes gives you whiplash.
The character of Fox was brilliant just enough sweetness with the punch of being a strong alpha but not too much. The whole story is just a feel good story and with the secondary characters makes this book a great read. His interaction with his sons is warm and shows he is a great father, also the care he takes with understanding Bailey’s point of views is lovely to read.
I can’t wait to read more from this brilliant author.

Outcast is the first book in the “Her Royal Harem: Ember series by Catherine Banks. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Banks, So I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories- but I do love a great fantasy, and a well-woven RH is right in my wheelhouse- plus, just look at that gorgeous cover! I didn’t need any more convincing, so I grabbed a copy and set off on the adventure. This is a superb paranormal romance, with reverse harem, magic, curse, action, adventure, agendas, chemistry, tension, mystery, drama, danger, and emotion. The story pulled me in from the very first chapter and kept me immersed the whole way through. I must say right from the get-go that Ms. Banks has a wonderfully original take on the whole ‘shifter lore’- which gave her story an extra element of intrigue for me. Her world-building is richly textured, making for vivid reading. The characters are really well developed, crafted with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I loved how they continued to develop and grow over the course of the story, especially Ember. The story is set to continue in the next book- Outnumbered- so bring on Book #2! In the meantime I will spend some time exploring some of Ms. Banks’ extensive catalogue of books because I now have a taste for more of her stories…. This book is different! I mean how different can a book full of supernaturals be. Well throw in a vegan vampire. Which is exactly who Basil follows through the story. It’s her story and she unexpectedly became a vampire. Her biggest obstacle being she’s vegan. The author offers an interesting perspective as her character continues one with her life. Not the first time I’ve read a book with a synthetic blood substitute, but it’s definitely the way to go for Basil. Basil’s new life brings a whole new sense of life and confidence. As well as multiple suitors claiming to be her mate. Jo, JJ, and Theo all say she’s their mate. To this she doesn’t understand how that’s possible but is willing to explore where it goes. Jo and JJ are Jolly Green Giant Shifters. Who ended up being experiments gone wrong. Always feeling like they were meant to stay together, it comes as no surprise to them that they end up wanting the same woman. Theo is a snowman shifter(first for me, definitely intriguing.) And he’s run for her even though he knows he shouldn’t have. Unfortunately his past may very well put Basil in trouble. Can Theo keep his past at bay? Can they all share Basil as their mate? Those questions and so many more come about while reading this quirky story featuring supernatural beings. And a woman finding who she is while be granted a second chance.

This book was so funny and steamy! Let me first say, that I haven’t read the others in the series, but I still loved the book and can’t wait to grab the others!! This book made me laugh a few times out loud! The glitter comment being one! I might have even talked a friend into reading this series over that conversation!! Basil wakes up to find herself a vampire. Only problem is that she is a vegan and she doesn’t eat anything that had/has a mother. Not so good for a newly made vampire. Luckily she formulates a plan very quickly. She makes a serum that helps with the hunger, she buys a store with an upstairs apartment, and she leaves town. She moves to Silver Springs. A heavily supernatural town. She opens up a smoothie juice bar with a tanning salon. Opening night is a big hit. Her life has been a world wind of changes and the biggest one yet is all the men! Has she found her mate? And what is a mate? She is so new to EVERYTHING that she needs to do some research! Unfortunately, she’s kidnapped and no one knows by whom! Such a great story! Like I said, I can’t wait to read the others in the set! You can read it as a stand alone, but trust me, you will be just like me running to get the others! If you love a good supernatural romantic comedy with lots of angst, banter, and some steamy parts then this one is for you!

This was an interesting story! I liked Ember and her guys. They had a bit of a slow start building the harem, but it picked up after a bit. Ember was a live in the moment kind of gal and I enjoyed her sprit and drive to help those that were dropped at her door step. The MC’s were interesting and I liked the chemistry between them and Ember and their story was a unique one. Overall I enjoyed this Fantasy/Paranormal reverse harem and I am looking forward to reading more by this author and more of this series in the future! Happy reading!
We didn’t realize this book was the third in a series. We picked it because of the title and the cover picture. Plus we have read other books by Ms Wickstrom. The book is easy to read for my kids and the magic of Nessie’s story kept their minds wondering and asking questions. They really enjoyed reading about how Craig and Linda helped Princess Sheona who was stuck in the maze. The story is beautifully written and the characters were relatable for my children. I kind of wish I could have read this book as a child too. So much imagination to keep children dreaming!

This is a new-to-me author but I really enjoyed her style of writing in this story. She has a way of making story well-balanced with adventure, mystery, and comic levity.
Characters in this story were of a huge interest to me. The ones I loved initially, I didn’t think so much of by the end and vice-versa. There were several times I found myself falling out of love with someone that I thought was pretty cool at first.

This is another super cute story by this author. It teaches lessons on friendship and bravery while keeping us adults interested. It’s a beautifully illustrated story that can be read and enjoyed by anyone.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book as I hadn’t read any of their previous work before, but I was blown away! I am a huge fan of anything paranormal, vampire, or romance, so this was right up my alley. Little did I know that I was going to find myself actually laughing out loud at multiple points. I loved the character development, the flow of the story, and the plot. I really don’t have anything to complain about in this book other than I wanted more! I am absolutely going to pick up the rest of the books in the series because this author has crafted an unforgettable story here. The quirkiness here went straight to my heart, and I can’t wait to pass it on to my friends. I highly recommend picking up this book even if it doesn’t seem like your jam!

The first book in this series was amazing, but this book somehow topped it! It’s just as fast paced as the first book and entertained me from the very beginning to the last page. The theatrical production was incredibly accurate and felt like I was there. Getting to know Marcy and Mike was such a fascinating journey because he is such a Grumpy Gus and she can read auras. The character development is top notch, and the story flows very nicely. While you can definitely read this book as a standalone, you really won’t be able to stop there so go ahead and pick up the first book now. A fun book with romance, great chemistry, mysterious happenings, and unpredictability will certainly keep your attention for the day!

Really fun story with great characters. Very enjoyable children’s book, read it with my friend’s son and he liked the story. We will be reading more by her together.
This was the first book I had read by this author, and it was an amazing start! It’s a historical romance but with a healthy dose of mystery involved as well as some ghostly encounters. I feel like I’m pretty good with predicting where a book is heading, but this is one that kept me on my toes the entire way through! Just when I thought I had it figured out, it snapped me a different way. I loved it! The romance has some steam to it but doesn’t rely on it for the base of the plot. The chemistry between Tess and Trey is out of this world! The scenes were described with such craft that you feel like you’re experiencing the story firsthand. I highly recommend picking this up if you’re looking for a fast-paced read with a dual timeline, this should be your next book without a doubt!

Critical Care is Book 6 in the Chase Care series….and I have to say this is my favorite book in the series so far. The intensity, edge of my seat feeling with drama, danger, action, romantic suspense..I really enjoyed this book very much. This story ran high on my emotions…and I am looking forward to what is in store by this author.
Tim Holland is part of the Chase Care team as facility director and also was in the Navy…Tim knows all about putting others first. When he meets Willow, who is a traveling nurse, there are definite sparks between them. When Chase Care suspects tampering with chemotherapy drugs, Tim and Willow will have to find out who is behind this and also with Willow’s past coming to be part of the fight to find out why this is happening….definitely makes for an interesting team. Will they be able to solve the mystery whom is behind this tampering…..when Tim is faced with a medical issue….will Willow be able to be there for him when he needs her the most…
Definitely read and find out…..this is a great book and I do not want to give away any spoilers :).

Nessie and the Celtic Maze (Nessie’s Grotto) by Lois Wickstrom and Jean Lorrah. These are the best kids books. I love everyone of them. In this installment Craig and Linda’s parents have decided to go to Canada for vacation and stay away from the Loch Ness. The kids do find a maze and get caught up in it trying to find their way from Canada to Scotland. Navigating this maze is all in hopes to save the Princess! Will they succeed? Read this cute kids book for ages 7-12. My 11 year old nephew loves these stories and we’ve read them all together. This story touches on being unafraid of the unknown and doing brave things. This book is the perfect addition to your families library and a teacher’s classroom!
