The Divided Twin (The Divided Series Book 2) by Mary Billiter – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur

The Divided TwinThe Divided Twin by M. Billiter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

We are back with Aaron and Brandon Kovac, the twins are now seniors in college and have their lives together, although hundreds of miles apart, they have jobs, a way with the ladies and are nearly finished getting their respective degrees, but nothing is as simple as it seems.

Their mum is diagnosed with cancer and they are finding it hard to deal with it, as are their other siblings. Branson is still learning how to deal with his mental health and Aaron is still dealing with it too, albeit by keeping his distance and leaving his brother to do his own thing.

This is where we meet David, David is the third twin. David is different and has more dark tendencies than the other twins, but he is the life of the party when he is more encouraging. He voices the things that should stay hidden, but also says the things that people want to hear.

With all the emotions which need to be worked through and the more details that come to the fore, the more the problems start to arise, but who is David talking to and what will he say? These are the million dollar questions!

Prepare for another emotional rollercoaster that takes ups and downs in its stride leaving you not knowing how or what to feel, but sure you want to feel more.

A Divided Mind by Mary Billiter – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur

A Divided MindA Divided Mind by M. Billiter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Meet Branson Kovac, he is a senior in his final year of school and that’s what everyone thinks he is too, but Branson hears voices and that is where this story begins.

We start with Tara, Branson’s mum when he tells her over the phone that he is hearing voices and to say she is in shock with this announcement is an understatement. She goes on a brief trip down memory lane and tries to see what she could have gone wrong and justify what she has heard.

We next see Branson as he starts to realise that these voices aren’t heard by everyone else and also, that these voices are becoming clearer and making more sense. He is in with the office counsellor trying to make sense of what happened earlier on in the day and why this incident has him sitting in this office with someone he doesn’t even know.
As he tries to begin to explain his situation and get some advice, he finds that he may not be as alone as he thinks he is.

As the book continues, we meet Branson’s twin, his girlfriend and his other friend Trevor, but what you find out about them doesn’t quite tally with what you want to believe.

This book is an illuminating look into a tough subject and takes you on a journey from two different perspectives, it will have you on an emotional rollercoaster, but one you will not want to get off.

The Changeup (Resort Romance #6)The Changeup by Mary Billiter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Changeup by Mary Billiter is the sixth book in the Resort Romance series, I have to say this is one of my favourite series. This story follows Rebel Roberts who has a rough past but with the help of some people she has turned her life around but something happens that changes her life forever.

Rebel is in hiding after being in witness protection and is enjoying a great life in Long Beach, she is working at the Long Resort as a Conference Services Manager and is supposed to keep a low profile so when she discovers a dead body it could not be worse for her.

Ryan McHenry was the local college sport star, who is the process of training to become the Deputy Sheriff but while he is in training he is a deliveryman part time. So when he stumbles across Rebel and a dead body he can’t resist to help her get to the bottom of the reason of why he was murdered.

This story is full of twists and turns with a dash of intrigue and chemistry that will have you turning the pages to find the conclusion to the story. This is a great stand alone book but I do recommend the whole series as there are great characters and stories which will have you re-reading them time and again. I can not wait for the next exciting installment in this great series.

The Changeup (Resort Romance #6)The Changeup by Mary Billiter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Changeup is the 6th book in the Resort Romance Series by Mary Billiter. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. I had previously read one of the other books in the series, Wine Thief, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The Changeup was also a really good read and I’d definitely read the others in this series too.
The changeup is a murder mystery with added romance. Although it’s a murder mystery, I also found much of the book to be light hearted. I really loved the characters in this book, not just Rebel and ‘McHotie’ Ryan, the 2 main characters but also Rebel’s workmates who have a large part to play in the story.
When you’ve just moved to a new area under the witness protection programme the last thing you want on your first week at your new job is to find a dead body but that’s exactly what happens to Rebel Roberts. Her knight in shining armour is delivery guy Ryan McHenry, a trainee police deputy, who is there when she finds the body of former police deputy Bernie Thomas.
What follows is a great story in which Rebel and Ryan, with the help of Rebel’s colleagues, try to work out why Bernie was murdered and also what dodgy dealing are going on at the hotel they are working in.
I would definitely recommend The Changeup, and the rest of this series to anyone who enjoys a good romance with a little intrigue added.

Four Stars

The Changeup is filled with a lot of mystery and drama. It wasn’t really exciting but it did have me wanting to know what happened. Rebel really got my interest. She is living two lives and is have almost an identity crisis. I liked how she had no filter about what she thought and how she wanted to be treated. Rebel said what she thought and it was refreshing. McCutie was also a favorite he plays a great knight in a delivery uniform lol. I would’ve like to see more character development and background. The side characters were great I like Da Nise lol. I couldn’t get over that part. Ria seems like a very likable but insecure character. Over all I enjoyed it for what it was.

The Changeup is book six in the Resort Romance series by Mary Billiter. This author always goes that bit further when releasing the next story in a series. It is evident the work that goes into making the next book edgier, racier, more dramatic, more soulful, more arousing. Engaging with each character is unique with each addition.

Each story affects me differently. Each story makes me feel varied emotions. A LOT of emotion. Rebel and Ryan provided entertainment, love, humour, intrigue and never ending theatrics. All these characters take a little piece of my heart when the final word is read, and these stories are ones I cherish. 5 stars.

This story combines mystery (solving a murder) and romance. The main characters are Rebel and Ryan. They have great chemistry that really pulled me into the story. Rebel is brave and tries to do the right thing. However, she can be frustrating. Ryan is patient and driven. He was my favorite character. The supporting characters were great! I recommend this story.

The Changeup by Mary Billiter is the sixth book in the Resort Romance Novel series and I really liked this book. I loved Rebel and her co-workers at The Point. I would have loved to see them a little more involved at certain parts of the story.

Ryan was a great guy, but a little too good of a guy for me. But I guess since he is studying to be a sheriff’s deputy he has to be good.

Ms. Billiter’s stories have more than just the romance aspect, there always a much deeper story involved and I really do enjoy that. Hope to see more books in this series!

I cannot find them, so I cant speak to them, but I give this book a 4 star. I really enjoyed it, it had a good mix of drama, suspense and romance. I would read more books by the author, and hope to find the rest of this series. Rebel and Ryan at first glance should never work out, but they develop an instant relationship and must quickly learn how to trust each other, when there is so much at risk.

She was forced to change her name, job and location. At least the newest location is at a swanky resort, in Long Beach. Never mind the fact she is still working in the basement.
Ryan is a former baseball player that didn’t make it to the big leagues He is now in training to become a sheriff deputy. He has memorized the handbook, and knows all the rules. But that may not be enough, when he stumbles across a dead body. Despite being an official cop, he finds himself in the middle of solving a murder mystery.

Mary Billiter has done it again. Her series continues in a new town, new resort and new characters. I love Rebel and Ryan’s story. So many things that could jeopardize this couples lives. Yet the truth shall make them free. This is a fast paced page turner. I was drawn in in the first chapter and kept there till the end. Job well done Mary Billiter! The Changeup by Mary Billiter is the sixth book in the Resort Romance Series. Though it is the sixth book, it can be read as a standalone. The Changeup is a whodunit mystery with romance thrown in for good measure. This is a story about a woman who trying to hide from her past and a baseball pitcher who is planning his future. Will there two worlds collide? Can it work out for the two of them?

The Changeup is another great book in the series, you will not be disappointed. I recommend reading the series because they are all so good. The twists and turns keeps you engaged, because you never know what will happen next. The characters are very believable and well developed. The secondary characters are just as good as the main ones. Looking forward to reading what comes next in the series.

The Changeup (A Resort Romance Novel Book 6) by Mary Billiter is another great read. Mary has done a fantastic job with this story and I fell in love with the characters from the very first page of the first book. The story is told from a duel POV which gives the story much more depth and perspective. I found myself laughing at the antics of the characters as they try to get to the bottom of who did it. It is a murder mystery, romance story and this is one of my favourites in this series.

Rebel is in witness protection so the last thing she needs is a murder, but to find out who did it, she finds a lot more than she bargained for.

Ryan wants nothing more than to be blue blood and is training to be a deputy sheriff but what he stumbles across in an alley is more than he ever imagined and may just place the one thing he wants most in the world in jeopardy.

There are secrets and mysteries, lies and loss that will keep you glued to each and every page.

The Changeup, by Mary Billiter, is a romantic suspense. This sixth novel fit perfectly within the A Resort Romance series. I adored the character names, they were fun to add in with the hilarious, suspenseful, intriguing and drama filled moments of the story. Rebel’s character was, by far, the best in this novel – something about her character shined thoroughly through. It could have been her witty nature or her personal set of morals/ethics, but it was unique. Then Ryan! Oh my goodness, the nickname he is graced with, its fabulous nickname! There are memorable characters in this book that just make it so good, entertaining and a must read! Not only do you get suspense within this story, the author gives you a bit more and delivers.

The Changeup (Resort Romance #6)The Changeup
ByMary Billiter
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Changeup (Resort Romance #6) by Mary Billiter was a light hearted, mystery filled, cheesy romance, that had me hooked.

Not my first read by this author or in this series, as in I have read every book in this amazing series and when I seen this one I quickly snached it up. Every book reads as a standalone so this is a series you can read out of order. There isn’t much of overlapping in past characters, the only connection, really is the hotel chain. So no worries about spoilers.

I will say that the towards the end the mystery got a little slow and choppy. As something that was a driving plot point, and as something that added a nice intensity to the plot, as things seemed to be winding up, it dropped. There was a time skip and everything just concluded itself. I don’t know if it was done to keep the page count down, but I feel like I was jipped on something that could have been phenomenal.

Outside of that, I very much liked this story, it was a good addition to this growing series. It has all the elements I love from the other books, with a little, added slower burn romance, then I have seen so far. Our female MC isn’t your average woman, and that darkness in her past adds that extra layer, making the romance that much more special. Almost right away we get to see both our MC’s true colours, and that in itself adds a much needed layer to this already interconnecting series.

Overall this was a very enjoyable read, it hits lots of good points, solid writing, witty dialogue, great MC’s and supporting characters. I hope to see more from this series. So please take my super high recommendation and stamp of approval that you will get lost in this unique gritty love story that will leave you wanting more.

Happy Reading

The Changeup (A Resort Romance Novel Book 6) By Mary Billiter. While this is book 6 it can definitely be read as a standalone without any questions or confusion, but do yourself a favor and read the others because they are great also. I loved this story and how the author makes each one unique, this one had suspense which I love in stories. I love a book that has me trying to figure everything out. This story is in both main characters point of view and I’m a fan of that because it makes for a well rounded storyline. The characters are easy to connect with even when I wanted to smack them a bit. It’s well written and paced nicely although a bit rushed in the ending but still a great read. I’m giving this book a four star review and recommend it to everyone. Excited to see where the author takes readers next.

The Changeup (Resort Romance #6)The Changeup by Mary Billiter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Here’s a cute story with a little mystery. Mary Billiter is the author of the Resort Romance novels. Each book is about a different set of characters. Each story is based in a hotel within the Point Resorts. While this is book 6 there is no need to read them in order. But you will definitely want to read all of the books.

Rebel Roberts is our leading lady and is trying to save herself with the help of the FBI. But trouble seems to follow Rebel no matter where she goes. Ryan McHenry is a soon to be sheriff’s deputy in Rebel’s new town. He can read Rebel’s lies across town, but when they discover a dead body together, he knows that there is more going on, not just with Rebel but with some of the locals in town too.

I liked reading about these two characters and their little adventure. Billiter has an easy style to read, which makes for a quick read. She writes about characters that are real but in such a way that the reader can escape into the characters world forgetting about their own problems.

Another Mary Billiter recommendation.

The Changeup is the sixth book in Mary Billiter’s Resort Romance’s series! I found the series when the fourth book came out and I have been a fan of her writing ever since. One could think that it is some flimsy easy reading when seeing that it is “Resort Romance” but it is far from that! Mary’s books make you feel, deep, and they make you think and I promise you that you do find yourself thinking of the stories now and then! AND you can read each story as a standalone so it means you have not missed the train!
The Changeup is the story of Rebel Roberts who is trying to keep a low profile as a hotel conference services manager/ being in Witness Protection, and Ryan McHenry who is a former college baseball pitcher/aspiring deputy sheriff. Add to this a dead body and what do you have at your hands? Chemistry that leaves you blushing and reaching for a fan and … suspense/a mess of gargantuan proportions … sort of … They will take you on a ride that you keep wishing that ends in Happily Ever After AND let’s not forget about all those great supporting characters, it is another bunch of great cast and it is something that I have enjoyed with each of the book in the series!

The story The Changeup (A Resort Romance Novel Book 6) by Mary Billiter is an action/mystery/romance book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very first chapter and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. It has questions that are raised and need to be investigated/answered. I found myself trying to put together the clues like a puzzle. I loved reading about the characters of Rebel Roberts and Ryan McHenry. Rebel is a woman who is part of the Witness Protection Program. She has to be kept safe so that she can testify. She finds herself with a job at the Point Resort in Long Beach, CA. She also finds herself very attracted to Ryan. Ryan is a man that wants to become a deputy sheriff. There were officers in his family and that is what his goal is. He soon finds himself in the middle of an investigation that starts when he and Rebel find a dead body. They begin a search for the truth behind the death. Both Rebel and Ryan have an attraction to each other. While Rebel knows it is not a good idea for her to become involved with Ryan her heart is telling her otherwise. There is energy when they kiss and a passion for each other. Will these two find out the reason behind the body that they find? Will they give into their emotions and feelings for each other? Will they get a chance at happiness? What would happen if Ryan finds out the secret that Rebel protects? Read this book to find out. I enjoyed reading about how Ryan and Rebel banter back and forth with each other. I also enjoyed reading about the other characters that they interact with and the part that each one plays in the story. This is a wonderfully written book that I would highly recommend reading. This is a series that I have loved since I read the first book and I also suggest reading the first five stories.

The Changeup (Resort Romance #6)The Changeup by Mary Billiter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Changeup is the sixth book in the Resort Romance Series by Mary Billiter. It is a bit of a whodunnit mystery with romance, suspense, and intrigue. It can be read as a standalone, but the rest of the series is also really great, so you would be missing out by not reading them all and getting the full experience.
I have been really enjoying this series, so I was really pleased to get my hands on this book and see what Ms. Billiter had in store for us this time. Once again this Ms. Billiter gives us something a bit different from the other books in the series. This book definitely has its own identity, flavour and tone- but still blends in well as part of the overall series. I liked that this was a mystery with a whodunnit feel to it, and the mystery itself was quite intriguing.
Rebel Roberts is the conference services manager at the Point Resort in Long Beach. But, her whole life is a cover- as she’s been placed in Witness protection by the FBI. Rebel’s meant to be keeping a low profile, so the last thing she needs is to stumble across a dead body. She can’t bring that kind of scrutiny on herself, because that may blow her cover completely. What will she do?
Ryan McHenry is known around these parts as McCutie. The former college ball player is now training to be a deputy sheriff, while working part-time delivering office supplies. Chance has him on the scene as they stumble across the body. Contrary to his better judgement he finds himself agreeing to help her. What ensues makes for some very entertaining reading as we follow along on this investigation and try to get to the bottom of it all.
This book was a great read, but it did feel a little rushed at times, especially towards the end.
The characters are great, especially Ryan (and his father). I did like Rebel, but she really frustrated me at times with her choices.
The story is told from a duel POV which gives us a really balanced perspective.
I am looking forward to Ms. Billiter’s next book!

Thank you, Ms. Billiter!

Wine Thief (Resort Romances #5)Wine Thief by Mary Billiter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wine Thief by Mary Billiter is the fifth book in the Resort Romance series and follows the life choices of Chloe and what reasons has caused to her to rethink her life and move to the Napa Valley with her sister.

Chloe has had a hard year, but she decided to leave what she knew behind in Southern California and moved to the Napa Valley to work in the Wine Industry as a Wine Educator. Her sister decided they need a trip on the wine train to get Chloe into role before she starts her job for real, but all that changes when they arrive at the train and are welcomed by Tony and his group for his friends Bachelor party. Chloe realises she has a instant attraction to Tony and as they go forward on the train she becomes more attracted to him, but she royally embarrasses herself.

Tony is using the trip with his college brothers as a cover for the real job in hand, as Tony works in the world of Corporate Intelligence he needs to find the mother vine to be able to go back to his employer, but Chloe has thrown a curve ball into the mix as he is having strong feelings towards her and is feeling guilty dragging her into this mess.

I have read all the books in this series and I have to say this was my favourite book out of the series, the character of Chloe reminds me so much of myself, clumsy and awkward in certain conversations and situations. I always love the dual point of views which the story follows and the internal struggles both characters had with the relationship and partnership in the task ahead. The story is well written and is always a page turner, the characters are rich and you feel like you are part of the story which I always love to escape.

I can’t wait for the next book in this great series and I love that each book within this series is a different story with a different twist. Thank you Mary for these great stories.

Chole and Tony are great characters and this was a good modern day romance with a little mystery mixed in, like keep me turning the pages. You will learn a lot about wine that I want to go on a wine train now. But unfortunately, there might have been too much information that it overpowered the story a little. Mary Billiter writing is well written but at times maybe a little too descriptive. I hate to say that because I wish some author were more descriptive in their writing. What she doesn’t expect is getting caught up in a web of deceit and lies much deeper than she ever though. What she didn’t expect was meeting someone who needs her just as much as she need them.

Mary has once again created another great story to in this series and suggest you pick them up and enjoy the read.

Escape Clause (Resort Romances #2) by Mary Billiter – Review by Jenni Bishop

Escape Clause (Resort Romances #2)Escape Clause by Mary Billiter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Escape Clause is the second book in the Resort Romances Series by Mary Billiter. It is a contemporary romance that is lighthearted, funny and refreshing read along with the right amount of drama and intrigue. Mary writes from dual POV and that is one thing I love when I am reading a story as it gives it so much more depth and and insight to who they are.

Kelsey is a young single mom who is relatively new to town after being cast aside from her family. When she is called upon and assigned to take part in a special night for the good of the town, who is she to say no. Little did she know that this one night would turn out to be the rest of her life. One night shared with a stranger that made her think there could be more to life. But will secrets and lies keep her from her HEA?

This is one book that you are rooting for the HEA from the get go and I liked how this story played out. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Do Not Disturb (Resort Romances #1) by Mary Billiter – Review by Jenni Bishop

Do Not Disturb (Resort Romances #1)Do Not Disturb by Mary Billiter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Do Not Disturb is the first book in the Resort Romances Series by Mary Billiter. It is a contemporary romance that was interesting and intriguing and is a light and refreshing read.

Katie Flanagan is not only sassy but she is also smart but lacks faith in herself. She is quick to jump in without thinking of the consequences. When she stumbles upon something she is not supposed to she is faced with a problem that she can not ignore and wants to do what she feels is right if only she can get others behind her. When she takes it to the one person she believes she can trust, her life is changed forever, now if only she can convince him she is not who he thinks she is.

I really enjoyed this story and the the characters that we meet along the way. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
