Spring’s Calling: A Seasons of Magic Urban Fantasy Novel by Sarah Biglow – Review by Faith Jackson

Spring's Calling (Seasons of Magic, #1)Spring’s Calling by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Boston Police Detective Ezri Trenton is about to reconcile her past by trying to save the future with a case deep in dark magic and an old prophecy.
Ezri has by choice isolated herself to not only do her job but solve her mom’s murder.
As the only prophet Savior of the magical community, during a time of both light and dark, the order of Samael works to keep the Druidic demons at bay but that leaves the Savior to be put to the test to save the community.
An unknown force is out on a murdering rampage. Ezri attempts to stop this force without revealing her true identity but it also throws into question more about her mother’s murder.
In a race against time, will she put who she is on the chopping block to save the community and the world as a whole?
This book is a multi-layered trip on the mind as you travel between fantasy and the real world (in book form) but it’s entertaining from start to finish. Quite the page-turner as it keeps you tuning in to see which way Ezri goes, great action and suspense, unpredictable and great world building between two worlds of fantasy and the regular world. This book was nothing short of incredible.

Grace’s Ghosts by Stephenie Wilson Peterson – Review by Faith Jackson

Grace's GhostsGrace’s Ghosts by Stephenie Wilson Peterson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

12 year old Grace can see ghosts, lots of them along with her best friend, a cat named Midnight. After hundreds of years, she’s the only person with this secret ability to view ghosts in Tansy, her hometown. She loves her ability, the ghosts she’s befriended and would prefer their company to those of the cliques at school.
The ghosts soon unveil to Grace a hidden centuries old secret that the town is cursed unless Grace can do something to change it. 300 years ago, a witch cursed every person to set foot in her town, made them ghosts and Grace is down for the cause. Grace soon unveils the truth her family hid for generations and a world a magic that surrounds her.
Will time repeat itself with the curse happening to a new generation or will Grace lose all her ghost friends to break the curse?
I love the beautiful back story of the ghosts, the curse and I fell in love with Grace from the beginning. She’s so sweet and her personality is adorable. Great read!

A High Price To Pay by Cynthia Hamilton
Four Stars

A High Price To Pay is the second book in the Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton. This series should be read in order because of the backstory you learn in the first book. This book grabbed my attention from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. The characters grew and the writing was smooth. Madeline’s catering business turned into a job for her and Mike’s private investigation business. This book is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end. I can’t wait to read the next book.

A High Price to Pay (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 2) by Cynthia Hamilton

This book did not disappoint me. I had some higher expectations of this book since it was the second book and inwas familiar with the author and she delivered and then some.

We pick up with Madeleine and Mike three years after the last book. They are official Private Investigators and ready to go once Madeleine is done with this over the top birthday party.

I’m usually pretty good about figuring out things before it’s revealed but this one had me stumped with a lot of changing of my mind and I loved it.

You can read this without reading the first but I would suggest you start at the beginning for background.

Not So Far (Love Grows series Book 3)Not So Far by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not so Far by Renee Regent was a great read. The book had me hooked from the very beginning. Silas has to return home to get together with his cousin and sell off their grandfathers property / home. While he is there, he decides to meet up with a friend who currently works with a woman he spent a summer with about 20 years ago. She was always the one who got away and she felt the same about him. I absolutely love second chance romance books and this one was great!
Silas doesn’t know if she will even see him. When they meet up, the chemistry is still there. They both have feelings for each other even though there are secrets….soooo many secrets! What will happen when all the secrets have been exposed. Will they be able to see past them and move on once they have the answers? I love the characters in the book! Cannot wait for more from this author.

Designing Love (The Calderone Family Romance Book 3)Designing Love by Victoria Grant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Designing Love by Victoria Grant is the third book in The Calderone Family Romance series. This is a fun, romantic read about architect Caroline Winters and Charles Calderone VP of his family business, Calderone Industries. When she is hired to design for the Calderone’s will, the two of them be able to work together. I really enjoyed this light romance of opposites. Caroline is the one who work always comes first while Charles is a creative type. The story is nicely written and I enjoyed the characters. I had not read other books in this series diving in the middle of the series, but the good news is these can be enjoyed as a standalone. I look forward to catching more of the books in the series and more from this author.

4 Stars!!!!

What more can you ask for with a supernatural romance with action and adventure. I was very much hooked to this book from page one. The author has such a refreshing style. The reader is grabbed and dropped right into the thick of it. The characters come to life and one feels as though you are right there in the adventure with them.

Vivienne and Aiden just have such an electric connection. I loved seeing how they each discover themselves as well as each other. There is just the right amount of drama and romance to keep you entertained. I really like how the author leaves it open for the series to continue. Fantasy type romances are my favourite especially with shifters and witches in them. I look forward to reading more from this author and this series.

Love the Way You Dance follows the Princess Kara, who was adopted, as she struggles to find her place within her new family and reach the belief that she belongs. Allison Boot is an author people should check out. She not only writes great novels, but also offers inspiration to those individuals who feel they are different. The message in her novels and especially Love the Way You Dance is that everyone is special in their own unique way and everyone deserves love.

Not So Far (Love Grows 3) by Renee Regent is the third book in this series, it follows Silas and Audrey after fate has them reuniting after 18 years. Both of their lives have changed during this time but neither of them has ever forgotten the time they spent together. However, will the secrets that they both keep be too much for either of them to accept? Or will the truth set everyone free? This is a lovely second chance romance novel, both main characters are deserving of a second chance. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I will certainly be going back to read the previous books in the series.

Satan’s Devils MC Boxset Books 1-5 (Satans Devils MC Series) by Manda Mellett – Review by Juls Dick

Satan's Devils MC Boxset Books 1-5Satan’s Devils MC Boxset Books 1-5 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Satan’s Devils MC Boxset 1 Books 1-5: Brothers protecting their own by Manda Mellett is an anthology of exciting and fast paced biker romance novels.

Turning Wheels tells the story of Wraith, the clubs VP, and Sophie, a young English lady under the protection of the MC. Sophie is the victim of a tragic incident where she is left with life changing injuries but when it seems that the orchestrator of this crime is after her again, Sophie is whisked away to Tucson and thrust into a brand new world. The Satan’s Devils MC takes crimes against women seriously and when another threat to Sophie comes knocking at the clubs door, they do all it takes to protect her at great cost to themselves. This is an excellent introduction into the world of the MC and I couldn’t wait to start the second one! Fans of Son’s of Anarchy will love this series.

Drummer’s Beat is the second book in this series and follows the Sam, a young woman who shows up at the club with a big announcement, and Drummer, the Clubs President. Initially hesitant to let Sam near the club the Prez changes his mind and then when a threat is made to her safety, they club have no choice but to take steps to protect one of their own, even if it means working with the enemy. These stories are quite hard hitting and although they show the bikers as strong, protective alphas the women in these books are also strong, determined and brave. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters more in this book.

Slick Running is Slick and Ella’s story. Ella was first introduced in book 1 when she done a massive favour to the club at great personal risk, she didn’t walk away unscathed which also meant leaving on bad terms with Slick. However, when Ella needs help with a family issue the club are more than willing to step up and help her. Especially when it turns out that there is a child grooming ring on their doorstep. The club have to fight to clean up their city while also dealing with a tragic situation happening on their own doorstep. This book was very emotional as you develop a bond with the characters over the first two books.

Targeting Dart is the tale of Dart, a confirmed bachelor and Alex, a young mum who is down on her luck and in need of a job. When Alex starts to dance at the clubs strip club no one thinks she will fit in however her talent and determination have the customers shouting for more. Unfortunately, Alex is in danger from her past and as much as Dart tries to fight it he can’t let her go. This story was slightly different from the others as a lot of the action takes place in a different chapter of the club, I am really looking forward to getting to know more about the San Diego MC.

Heart Broken is Heart and Marc’s story. Heart is devastated after the death of his wife Crystal, he cant stand to be around his brothers or his daughter, Amy. After an incident at Satan’s Angels, the strip bar owned by the club, Heart is given the option of leaving in bad standing or going Ronin, out on his own for 6 months with no affiliation with the club until her turns his life around. He choses the latter. During this time he gets to know the detective who has been investigating his wife’s death but he doesn’t expect to ever be able to have feelings for another woman again, especially a cop! The Satan’s Devils MC is a fantastic series. Each book gives you more insight into the dynamics of the club and I cannot wait to keep reading the rest of the books in this series.

Night Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel Book 1) by India Kells – Review by Naomi McDonald

Night JusticeNight Justice by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Night Justice is the first book in the Chicago Vigilantes series. It leaves things in a bit of a cliffhanger so be prepared for that.

I liked this book a lot. The characters are well written. I appreciated the female lead, Orla. Her character is strong, yet feminine, very well balanced. I also loved that the male lead is an anti-hero. The fact that he is attracted to Orla because she’s strong and not because she needs to be “saved” is a plus too.

This story has romance, of course, but it is also full of intrigue and danger as Orla and her masked vigilante try to keep the city safe from a new drug. Overall, a great read.

Book 1Denial: The main character Friday seems to follow her own drum and is finding out that strange things are happening around her. The secondary characters and the main character are interesting, and I enjoyed the interactions and their quirks.

Book 3 Bargaining: This is Friday Fitzsimmons story and is set in the near future world of Icon City, a place filled with powered one-percenters, She finally joined the gold team, the producers even like her now, but it feels like she has abandoned everything that makes a good hero, in order to be a good hero.

Eat Me (Mayim Merman series Book 1)Eat Me by Amber Dark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first book by Amber Dark. I loved the characters and the way they mingled so well. This is the story of Mayim who is sexy as all get out, handsome, and a dirty talker. Summer is a teacher who has been told by her ex boyfriend different body shaming ideas about her and been guilted into not wanting to try her wild side and enjoy sex. If anyone makes you feel this way- leave them. You are better than that, and they do not deserve you. That’s ultimately what this book is trying to make us women-folk understand. We are beautiful and sexy and deserve to have our naughty time 😉
*This book contains smoking hot sex scenes, plenty of swearing, and a whole lot of titillating pleasure. All sex is consensual, and you must be aged 18+ to read it.*

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It is a romance story that is written with heart and soul. This author’s attention to details made me feel as if I was part of the story. I enjoyed being pulled in right from the beginning and it kept me turning pages. This is a story about love and hate. From the moment Bailey meets Cooper her attraction to him is off the charts. Problem is she can’t stand him. But her biggest problem is that her mother is now engaged to Cooper’s father. Is Cooper out of bounds for her now? This is where the story was hard to put down. They are great characters that I had no problem connecting with. They took me on an emotional roller coaster which I enjoyed every minute of. I highly recommend this book. You don’t want to miss the chemistry between these two for sure.

The book The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2) by Luciana Cavallaro is an exciting and entertaining read. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a book that has action, danger, and Greek gods. I loved reading about the character of Evan. He has been ripped from his life in the 21st century and now has a new one in ancient Greece. His father is Zeus. The only way that Evan can get back to his time is to collect sacred relics. Along with those he travels with he finds himself facing mythical creatures, fabled warriors, those who would see their mission fail, and those who would do all in their power to help. Will Evan and his companions find the sacred relics? What does their future hold? Read this book to find out. This is a fast-paced story that had me turning pages to find out what happens next. I loved the Greek mythology. The author does a wonderful job of keeping my interest in the storyline and the characters. The book made me feel like I was right there with Evan and the other characters. I would highly recommend reading it.

Stepbrother (Step Dilemma Series Book 1)
By Stacy McWilliams
5 out of 5 stars

The story Stepbrother (Step Dilemma Series Book 1) by Stacy McWilliams is a book that had me hooked. It pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. The story is one of love and hate, passion and desire, disappointment, and romance. The characters of Bailey and Cooper are both interesting and at times hard to understand the reasons for their actions. Bailey is a character that I had a lot of empathy for. Her life has been turned upside down and things never seem to quite work out for her. She is intelligent and strong. She also is kind and thoughtful to those she cares about. Cooper is a character that I never was sure of what his motives were or if he had a method to his madness. While there are moments that I had empathy for him there are others that I didn’t know what to think and was left with my mouth open at the things he did. What does the future hold for Bailey and Cooper? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. There are additional characters that interact with Bailey and Cooper. Some of them I had a hard time liking while others grew to care about just like I did Bailey. This is a book that includes forbidden feelings and there are heartbreaking moments as well. The author does a wonderful job of making the characters and story come alive. I would recommend reading it.

Deleted by Ruth Mitchell – Review by Angela Hayes

DeletedDeleted by Ruth Mitchell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Deleted by Ruth Mitchell is a fantastic futuristic YA sci-fi story that whisks us to a possible future and gives us glimpse of what could be. There we meet Lucy and Marco, and get swept up on an adventure where tech addiction is gripping the planet, and how she discovers that it is now possible to delete another person’s memory, and rewrite their history. She ends up in a cat and mouse game in a race against time, and memory- to outwit and outplay a memory hacker who has her in his sights. Who will win out in the end? This is well worth the read to find out.
Even though this is a Young Adult novel, it can be enjoyed by all ages from young teens through to the vintage years. It has a bit of a techno-thriller feel to it, that is full of mystery, drama, romance, danger, humour, and superb world building. It is a thought-provoking, highly imaginative, and wonderfully original read.
Ruth Mitchell paints a fascinating, and entirely plausible future picture that intrigued me from start to finish. I read it in one sitting, as I didn’t want to put it down. There were times that the story was a little predictable, but that didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story- and there were enough twists and dramatic developments to keep me turning he page to find out what would happen next.
Deleted is my first read by Ruth Mitchell, and I am happy to say that it definitely won’t be the last! This appears to be her debut novel, so I am looking forward to seeing what else she can/will do.
Looking forward to more!

Thank you, Ruth Mitchell!

Drummer's Beat (Satan's Devils MC, #2)Drummer’s Beat by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Manda Mellett can do no wrong when it comes to writing about MC’s. She gives us wonderful characters, suspense, action, romance and the best ride of our lives. This book is the second in the series and continues on from the first so I suggest you read them all in order.

Drummer is the boss, he is the head of the MC and he will always do what is best for his club, his family and anyone that is under their protection. However he doesn’t need a woman, the club has enough of those to meet his needs. But everything is about to change when he comes across a woman stranded and with a tale that no one believes.

Sam is looking for her past, the one person who can give her the answers she desires, or so she thought.

You can never go wrong with Manda and the Satan’s Devils

Turning Wheels (Satan’s Devils MC Series Book 1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Jenni Bishop

Turning Wheels (Satan's Devils MC, #1)Turning Wheels by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Turning Wheels is the start of the series that I absolutely love. Manda’s writing is so vivid that you get lost in the story and fall in love with each of the big bad alpha bikers. Brilliant and not to be missed.

Sophie is still reeling from the wounds inflicted from helping her best friend when she is once again put in the cross fire of a dangerous and completely insane past. When unexpected help turns up she is not sure if she is trading one bad situation for another. What she comes to realise is this group of people will do anything they see as theirs to keep them safe.

Wraith is the VP and he has no time for women other than to take the edge off but when a broken creature comes into his world she brings out the protective streak in him.

Targeting Dart (Satan’s Devils MC Series Book 4) by Manda Mellett – Review by Jenni Bishop

Targeting Dart (Satan's Devils MC, #4)Targeting Dart by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Targeting Dart is the fourth book in the series and it gets your heart pumping. I cant find enough words to compliment Manda and her inborn writing talent. She is very clever and weaves so many threads while keeping all together with so many characters that you absolutely love.

Dart takes one look at the tiny creature who just walked in and could not believe his eyes but when she takes control and let go, she is magical, she is all consuming. When things go pear shaped he can not believe what kind of monster could do such things and vows there and then his last days on earth are guaranteed.

Alex knows she is no looker but she knows her craft and her craft is spellbinding. However when her past finally catches up to her she is left for dead and can only hope that the MC find her before it is too late.

These books must be read in order.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC Series Book 3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Jenni Bishop

Slick Running (Satan's Devils MC, #3)Slick Running by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Slick Running by Manda Mellett is a five star read that will leave you yearning more each and every time. This is book three in the Satan’s Devils MC series and is a powerful and emotional rollercoaster.

Ella decides to help the Satan’s Devils but she never could have imagined the price she had to pay. How do you tell the one person you can’t get out of your head, who you are sure will never want you after he learns the truth, what happened?

Slick thought he had found what he was looking for but that was never real, however when he finally learns the truth he can’t believe how stupid he was and just what was at stake.

Heart Broken (Satan’s Devils MC Series Book 5) by Manda Mellett – Review by Jenni Bishop

Heart Broken (Satan's Devils MC, #5)Heart Broken by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG, WOW, just wow. This is the most beautifully heart wrenching, heart breaking and emotional read I have read in a long long time. I am not going to give you any details of the book as it is one that you need to read for yourself.

Heart Broken is the most apt name for the story that Manda has given us. I still come to tears when I think about it hours, months later after finishing it.
