This book was an absolute addiction from the get go! Before I knew it, it was one in the morning and I still couldn’t put the dang thing down! It’s a great forced proximity/marriage of convenience romance, and the way the two main characters just connect with each other is amazing. I love this series, and I love this author so much. These books are high on my list of fantasticness, and I cannot recommend them enough! If you love a nice little cowboy romance, then this is the book and the series for you!!

I have read book one and book three of the Bluestone series and I have loved them both! I enjoy the town that the stories are set in, the characters, and how the story unfolds. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything with not having read book two, although I will because I love Reeds writing, and the series itself, but even though the characters are in all of the novels they are each focused on a different couples story. They also all have a happy, fulfilling ending, so no need to worry about any cliffhangers. If you into quick, fun, fully fleshed romance stories, with some snark, spice, with real world troubles I can confidently recommend Isobel Reeds Bluestone series!

This is a cute story, a reimagining of Jack and the beanstalk. This series by this author is really interesting as it provides new perspectives on old classics. The story is one that many children will enjoy. I enjoy this author and recommend her to anyone with children who love to read.
Every now and again I will come across a book that must be consumed in one day. This book was one of those books.
From the moment they meet Ivy and Ace are attracted but refuse to act on it. They are thrown together for business purposes and it ends up being so much more.
Seeing Ace recover from his both his physical and mental scars was great, when he finally made the leap he went all in. When you have the right person with you anything is possible and that showed in both Ivy and Ace.
Ms. Reed did a great job keeping me interested and wanting more.

Anticipation. Having read two of the previous Popov Boys books, four (Thief) and five (Beast) I was very excited to read the next instalment in the series. This book takes place a few years after the previous book. Thanks to Efrem the Bratva is no more, and the family businesses are now all legal ones. Told from a dual perspective, we have Efrem Popov and Miranda Patton. Efrem is the youngest male in his family and while a hopeless romantic that was picked on by his cousins, he is the last to find his happily ever after. Punk, his alter ego of sorts is the local vigilante of L.A., capturing criminals of all kinds and leaving a note for the police of their crime always signed “Punk”. Miranda is a record label CEO, after catching her husband cheating with three groupies, she files for divorce that gets nasty quick. Her previous bookkeeper was a friend of her ex-Mick and when he quits, she has no choice but to hire a new one. Efrem, being a genius with numbers like his father shows up in her office with an offer she can’t refuse, she accepts if only to have a little eye candy for the short trial period. Quickly the chemistry between them is evident and hard to deny, both giving in briefly before pulling back, trying to keep professional as boss and employee. Without realizing they share a similar secret, Efrem is Punk and Miranda is hunting for him. Will Miranda allow herself to enjoy being wanted and forget about the superficial excuses? Can Efrem find redemption for his past sins? Knowing the book has a happy ending, the best part of the book is learning the journey the characters must endure to reach it. Once again, I love seeing this world and getting little updates about the previous books’ characters. Also, the author’s ability to introduce characters so early in the series but then show that it was only scratching the surface and that no amount of guessing could have prepared you for the story to come.

Obedience (Ties That Bind Book 1) Audiobook by Liza Snow – Review by Jessica Stone
This book… was wonderful, let’s just start out by saying, I had no idea what I was in for with this book and author. It was complete and utter torture, the slow burn is real with this novel and it made the climax ten times more wonderful, I loved every second of it.
The relationship that blooms between our handsome french man and his student makes my toes curl, the attraction between the two being almost instant and having to wait to see how things played out built the narrative between them seamlessly. Chandler and Cassandra relationship is what my dreams are made of, their age gap, sudden attraction, will they won’t they, fierce protectiveness is all a girl can dream to have. Chandler is a dream boat and a wonderful male lead even through all of his attempts to push casa away and fight his undeniable attraction to her. And Cass was just a lost girl, who’s become a woman who knows where she belongs, and always has and that’s next to Chandler.
This is my first novel from Liza Snow but I can say it will not be my last.
The first chapter or two was a little slow for me, I had no idea that by continuing to read I’d be thrust into this intriguing world of love, sex, betrayal, games, mystery and more. Be warned though, before getting hooked like me, this story will leave you on a cliff grasping to hold on. This book has a awesome amount of suspense and intrigue to it, not just some sappy love story to swoon over( though it is completely swoon worthy) and though the suspense and angst between the two main characters had me face palming more than a few times, I couldn’t help but fall in love with them.
Anyways, I highly recommend giving this book a shot, you might be pleasantly surprised like I was, and unable to put the book down, you never know.

What Do The Plants Say? By Lois Wickstrom is a cute story about Alex the inventor. Alex believes that the plants are talking to her so she invents a translator. She then talks to the plants and find out that they want to fly. The story is completely adorable and shows how young children can be so creative. Many of the stories I’ve read by this author are scientific related and while this was not, it is still important to allow children to be creative. I would say this is more for ages 5+, I typically read these to my 2.5 year old but she didn’t really understand the imagination just yet, she did try talking to her plants through!

This was my first read by this author and it will not be my last. The story was well written. It keeps you wanting to turn the page to find out what happens next to the boys. The book is about a group of boys in a juvenile detention center. The boys are referred to as the boys of Alpha Block. It follows them in their struggle to escape to freedom. The experiences they go through pull at your emotional strings. Will they find freedom or become trapped in the abusive system?

Fee, Fi, Fo, Grow: The Real Magic of Beans by Lois Wickstrom was a very cute adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk. I love reading these adaptations because they each have a little bit of science in them that is easy to explain to my 2.5 year old. My daughter loved this story. We talked about beans and how they grow. How we can plant seeds to grow more plants/beans and so on. I think it’s important to talk to our kids about this so I’m very glad that Lois has taken some old favorites and added in just enough for young minds!
I’m already captivated by this book and that’s just from reading chapter 1. So if that doesn’t convince you to read this, i don’t know what will. I knew I was going to be obsessed because every other book in this series I’ve LOVED so much. Please read the other books in this series before reading this one, you won’t be disappointed. Okay back to finish the book and I’ll be back to let you know my thoughts…okay I’m back and I only read the second chapter 👀 lmao. I didn’t expect that twist but wow, I’m in for a ride! Okay back to reading. But I’m going to tell you to read this just based off the first 2 chapters! I’m already invested! I LOVE EFREM! That man has a way with words and you can’t help but feel weak in the knees. If you want a book full of drama, angst, SPICE 🥵..this book is for you. This was a very cute story about how animals possibly see us humans. How we live must really be very peculiar to them and even rather scary. My 4 year old granddaughter found the story amusing. She really liked the illustrations too. I would definitely consider purchasing this book for gifts as well.
This was a interesting retelling of Sleeping Beauty. Retellings are stories I enjoy because I like to see how authors make a well known story their own. The main characters in this were names Ayo and Yi. They had a sweet MM romance that was very angsty more times than not and just an fyi this story isn’t written in the 1st person so it was a little harder to connect than my normal stories but you got more sides of the story besides just the thoughts of the two mc’s. I thought the characters were good and their overall story was interesting! Happy Reading!

This is the 6th book in the Popov Boys series and can be read as a standalone however after discovering the author in December reading the previous 2 books, I highly recommend you read from the beginning of the series!
Once again, the author has proven why they became a fast favourite. They’ve created another set of characters to fall in love with and root for and hooking me from the very start.
I’m once again left with a longing for more of this series and an impatience at not being able to dive straight into another new read in the series.
I though the age gap was written well and made believable. Given everything Miranda has going on in her life, she proves herself to be a strong and independent mother. I love how she was written and how things build between her and Efram.
It’s not just the romance that keeps you reading either, there’s more to it than that. The secrets and suspense were incorporated so nicely, it really came together well.
I’ll be honest and say I had my doubts as the blurb didn’t seem like the rest of the series, but I was blown away by how much I loved this instalment.

One thing that I have come to expect when I see that Lois Wickstrom has published a new book is that this book will be one that I will want to share with everyone that I see. This is such a fun look and twist on the classic fairytale Jack and the Beanstalk. It contains some of the same elements but adds new and whimsical twists. In this story the giants are in trouble and only Jacqueline can save them. This is such a fun twist on this story and it definitely shows kids the importance of sharing what you have.
Wow! Each and every book in the Bluestone series is better than the last. They definitely all can be read alone, as they each focus on different people in the small town, but I won’t recommend doing this because you miss the charm of Bluestone by reading them in isolation. In this story we meet Ace who is a former Marine who has come to Bluestone to start over. He was injured very badly in an accident and wants somewhere small where he can feel hidden. He starts living in a cabin on the property of Ivy. Ivy inherited a ranch from her grandparents and she wants it to continue to succeed. He brother helps financially but he does not help out physically. That’s where Ace comes in. He is working to stay in a cabin. Ivy thinks she can handle anything that is thrown at her, but she didn’t expect the old boys club that is ranching. Ace comes to her rescue and the rest is well its found in this amazingly written book. I loved this book so very much, Ace and Ivy definitely were great characters who were flawed and who really needed each other. I found myself rooting for them at every turn. I also cried like a baby throughout this one as each keeps thinking they are doing what is right. This book is fantastic and I can only hope that there is more to come in Bluestone!

Bound by the Hinterlands is a fantasy romance tale and is an intriguing read. The development of the story was done well. Her world building and her vivid words make the world seem real. The journey is full of darkness, panic, tension, turmoil, danger, and drama this story gets more interesting as things unfolds. What is within the oppressive darkness in the forest? The characters were well written, crafted, developed and real. There are those you will love and those not so much. If I came face to face with some of them, I would give them what for a taste of their own medicine. Cressida longs for a life of her own. To be free of the constraints placed upon her. Unfortunately, that is not in the cards. Cressida is one of those characters that you become invested in. So much so that you want to grab by the hand and help her get to where she wants to be. Will she find what she is looking for? Will she be seduced by the secrets in the darkness? Will she lose her way? I am looking forward to seeing what Bree has in store for us next and where she will take us.

This book is freaking fantastic. This is the first book in the Bluestone Series and I definitely cannot wait to read the other books. Bluestone is a small, rural ranch town and this book definitely gives so many good feels of a small town. It features two of the most amazing characters. Lilly is running away from London, from the life she knew. She is running towards … Well she isn’t sure. She knows that her father, that left her when she was little, has left her a hardware store and an apartment in Bluestone. She knows that she maybe wants to know something about him, but she also knows that she isn’t happy in her real life right now. Jake is working on a ranch with his sister. He has never had a real, serious relationship and the new girl in town has caught his eye. What he doesn’t know is that his sister also has caught the new girl’s eye and they are about to become the best friends that the other needs. This new revelation complicates things, because if he wants the new girl he can’t do what he has always done. But he is also the first to admit that Lilly (the new girl) has a different effect on him. He definitely feels things that might seem like this relationship might last. Lilly and Jake have an amazing relationship. Their banter with each other is amazing. Each is very flawed in a very relatable way. I know I related to Lilly on so many levels. And Jake he just seemed so genuine. I also liked that Jake knew Lilly’s father. I feel like that really helped add depth to the story. I love knowing that this is a series as there were so many characters that were introduced that I really want to know more about – Sam and Duke, Lilly’s sister, Teddy at the bar. I love the small town feel and it made me want to up and move to Bluestone, it seems like a place that would feel like home.

I have read a few of this authors work. I like her dark stories and Twisted Proposal does not disappoint. She entices you into worlds easily imagined due to her strong word building. I enjoyed the story premise and Victoria’s writing style. Victoria’s vivid narrative paints a picture that is seductive and draws you in with to the BDSM lifestyle that is hot and sexy. Twisted Proposal is a book in the Central Florida Stories series. Each book can be read as standalones but why not start at the beginning as characters do cross over in some books. Lured into a world of Submissives, Dominants, BDSM where the game of seduction plays to the Elite. Mistake in identity is all it takes for revenge to take hold. Slipping under his skin was not on the agenda. If you like to dip your toes into BDSM then you will like this story.

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which kept me captivated throughout by the wonderful characters and heartwarming storyline. Ivy is desperately trying to save her ranch, but her clients are sexist, and so to placate them she pretends to be engaged to retired Marine, Ace. Meanwhile, Ace came up with the idea of a fake relationship to get to know Ivy better, thinking that he would never stand a chance with her. After all it’s not just internal battle scars that caused him to be medically discharged from the military, but scars on his face too. Ace has trouble looking at himself in the mirror and so believes Ivy would never find him attractive. However, Ivy is very attracted to the handsome ex Marine, but wishes he would get over his ‘hero complex’, and trying to save her all the time! Although they both want to turn their fake relationship into a real one, they are also both wounded in their own ways. The wide open spaces of the ranch and ranch life was brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in the story. I loved Ivy and Ace and felt invested in their romance, and was hoping they would get a HEA. A lovely read, and one which I recommend.

I love reading this author’s books. Her stories are always informative and you will always learn something. This book didn’t veer in that direction but while you didn’t learn anything per se, it is an extremely imaginative story. It is fun to imagine what plants would say if they could talk. This book could lead to many interesting conversations with the little ones. Filled with colourful illustrations and adventure, this will be a hit with the children.

Told from multiple points of view the past and present mix to make an incredible picture of this dystopian world. I enjoyed the complexities of the story and the way the author presented the information about it to the readers. The story flowed in such a way that you get pieces of the larger puzzle slowly and keeps you intrigued throughout. I found that I didn’t immediately love each of the characters, for various reasons, but came to understand their circumstances. The idea of a caste system and fantastical elements of powers gave more to the story than I’d originally hoped and definitely held my attention and kept me engaged in the story.

Obedience is about a girl named Cassandra Blackstone. Cassandra is a silk aerialist who has always wanted to be mentored by one of the greats, Chandler Moreau. Cassandra auditions for the school that Chandler’s family owns and receives a full scholarship, mentorship, and a job as a teacher assistant. I won’t go into too much detail because there is a lot of things that happen in this book. Long story short, Cassandra is borderline obsessed with Chandler and he seems to have similar feelings once he saw her perform. He is quite older then her and recently divorced so he is seen as a little bit of a grump (not to mention he hates his father). While infatuated with each other, this is not a love at first sight type of story – they each have a lot of baggage and secrets. They do end up falling for each other, but at what cost. Chandler’s family is evil from what we have seen so far and Cassandra is trying to rid the evil from her former life. That doesn’t really bode well for falling for a guy who has evil in his blood. There is this back and forth of information throughout the entire book and is left on a cliff hanger. Overall, I enjoyed the book. I think it provided something a little different then what I am use to reading so that was refreshing. However, there is a lot of information to pay attention to so I had to make sure that I wasn’t too tire while reading. As for the characters, I thought they were interesting. I didn’t love them but didn’t hate them either. Chandler seems a little overbearing and overprotective, but I am sure there is a lot of reasoning behind it. However, I do think he is a little controlling as well, and while I normally love that in a male character, for some reason it just wasn’t hitting the same for me with Chandler. As for Cassandra, I thought she was smart, elegant (in her craft) but a little naive. However, there is a point where she just says what needs to be said and does what needs to be done. I do love that when came to the love story there wasn’t too much build up – however, there was always another secret around the corner. The romance built up so good, but then at times I wanted more. I will read book 2 because I now need to at least know what all the secrets are!!

Obedience (Ties That Bind Book 1) by Liza Snow. This book is a emotional roller coaster and its so good. Its the story of Cassandra who has been obsessed with aerialist Chandler since she was 13 and her parents took her to a show. When her parents died not long after in a fire she became even more infatuated with him. She has one goal in life and that is too become a silk aerialist just like Chandler and work with him. At age 25 she auditions for his company and he is a judge. She makes it and she inspires Chandler so much even after his divorce and a injury she is just what he needs to motivate him. They soon become more than coworkers and it is a very fast and furious love affair. Will they be able to continue to work together and have a relationship or will their past come back and mess it all up? This is a fast paced, hot romance that is very emotional. Can’t wait for the next book!

Truly Unfortunate by C.A. King is the first book to the Welcome to Knollville paranormal series. The story begins with Truly as a child, and one can quickly conclude that she is being brought up in an extremely toxic and abusive environment. As the story continues and Truly has become a young adult, it is evident that some sort of event has caused her to lock out the memories of her past. She has been working to try to regain the memories, but she could find that the memories were better off left suppressed. I quite enjoyed the writing and felt the paranormal aspects and plot were very fresh and exciting enough to keep the pages turning. I would certainly be interested in reading the next book.

WOW! This is Sky and Damon’s story. Sky has her work cut out for her. Her friend wants Damon before the year ends. Only Sky has crushed on him forever. Damon, on the other hand, is more interested in Sky. High School is such a struggle to get through. The bullies, the cheerleaders, the nerds and the jocks. This story deals with many teen issues. That’s what makes this author’s story so believable. It is well written, fast paced and easy to follow. All teens would agree this is like high school all over. Enemy’s to Romance is just how this story reads. So many emotions will be challenged, so many secrets will be opened and somebody is bound to find romance. This is a fantastic story for New Adults as well as adult readers.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites for sure. I found this fantasy story easy and entertaining to read. It is a well written story about how far and what are you willing to risk to save someone. What has instore for these characters you don’t want to miss. This is a hard to put down fantasy story that is fast paced and engaging. The characters pull you into their world with ease and kept my attention throughout. They are strong, relatable and creative characters that add so much to the story. I enjoyed watching their growth and chemistry throughout the story. This is a story that you don’t want to miss. It took me on an adventure of romance and survival. I highly recommend this book.

This is an author that I have loved reading from the first book I picked up. This is the third book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous books as well, it will help you enjoy this author;s writing skills as well as her characters. I found this book to be fast paced and hard to put down. A well written story where the characters pull you into their world and make it pop. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as their chemistry which is off the charts. What will happen when she gets under his skin? What will fate have instore for them? I found myself hoping they would get their HEA. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens with these two characters. I really enjoyed them and what they brought to the story. I highly recommend this book

Though this book is part of a collection, you can read it as a standalone and not miss out on any information from previous books.
I enjoyed this book from the start, as Ivy doesn’t really hold much back with her words or actions despite her best efforts.
Ivy’s ranch is flailing and she’s out of options until her ranch hand Ace opens his mouth and makes an announcement, to all of their shock.
Watching them work through their issues both personal, professional and mental was a ride but so worth it in the end. I enjoyed all the people we met and I especially loved Ace’s mom!

This is the 6th book is the Popov Boys series. This is one of those series where each installment is just as good if not better than the installment before which just goes to show how great the author is at keeping the stories fresh and with new ideas. This is a great age gap romance which is also full of danger, Suspense, kidnappings and risk being taken that could be lethal. I really like Efrem’s character. He is trying to make up for being born into a family who have done wrong. He doesn’t want to be the same so he risks his life every night trying to make the city safe and protecting innocent people disguised as Punk. When he takes a job as bookkeeper for a record studio the story really gets interesting when the attraction he feels to his boss Miranda is really intense. Miranda is a strong willed, determined woman who is on a mission to find Punk who she believes is responsible for murdering her brother. However she is asking questions and looking for answers in places that are going to put her life in danger. What will happen when Miranda realised that Efrem is Punk? Will the chemistry they have between them be enough to overcome that and find the truth or will Miranda’s hunt for her brothers killer put them in a situation that is dangerous to both of their lives. This is an edge of your seat Mafia romance which you won’t be able to put down and the twists and turns will keep you guessing from beginning to end
