Potager Plot (A Backyard Farming Series Book 5) by Vikki Walton – Review by Melissa Agena

Potager Plot (A Backyard Farming Series, #5)Potager Plot by Vikki Walton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a fun-hearted little mystery novel! Potager Plot: A witty cozy mystery with a hint of romance is the fifth book in the Backyard Farming Mystery Series by Vikki Walton. Now, this is the first book for me from this author and I was pretty darn impressed. I’m used to really dark and super psychological mysteries and this is quite the opposite. This book is all about lighthearted and cheery wrapped up with a little bit of mystery and romance. You can read this book as a standalone. It is not necessary to read books 1-4 beforehand but you know me…I like reading things in order so I don’t miss a thing. Ms. Anne Fremont has taken on planning gardens for the people of the town. When she find outs that Billie, the garden club president is dead…something makes her immediately think that something is fishy. So Anne is on the hunt to find out who killed her friend and why. I am definitely going to go back and read the first books because I enjoyed this one so much! I definitely cannot wait for the next book!

Stripped (Stripped Book 1) by Stacy-Deanne – Review by Melissa Agena

Stripped (The Stripped Series Book 1)Stripped by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Way to spin it off on a new series! This is not a typical Love Triangle. There is much more to it than meets the eye. This is the first book in the Stripped Series written by Stacy-Deanne. It is a spin off from the Bruised Series. In this story we meet Baltimore Detective Dee Quarter. Her and her partner Connie Wilks are called in to a homicide which involves and ex-boyfriend of Dee’s and another man who just seems to be very intriguing but has ulterior motives to bring her in a cult. This book sounded very intriguing as it involves a Murder Mystery, Romance and Cults but it’s also because it is a BWWM (Black Woman/White Male). I haven’t read much of this genre but it totally worked in this book! I loved the characters and the mystery within it all. I hadn’t read this author before but I was very pleasantly surprised. This story was a very easy read and it was very engaging and it really brought you in. I wished I had read the previous series just so that I could have a little bit more of a background but you can totally read this book without doing so. I can honestly say that I am excited for the next book in the series! Well Done Ms. Stacy-Deanne!

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 5) by India Kells – Review by Melissa Agena

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #5)Dark Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having a deep dark past can push you to a point of no return. Sam has finally had it. The last straw has finally broken. Dark Bastard is the fifth book in the Dark Sparrow Series by India Kells. Just as amazing as the books that came before it, this story takes us on a journey of two broken souls and a past that comes back to threaten them once again. Sam is about to make the most important call of his life when he makes a mistake and winds up talking to a woman who just might need him more than he thinks. And just when he thinks that Ellie is going to be okay, that deep dark past I spoke about earlier, yeah that one…well that comes back to hit him right in the face. Sam and Ellie both seem to have similar situations. Both the need to feel like the hero and savior and they both have sordid pasts. These two characters work so well together. You can’t help but fall in love with them and the story itself. I completely love this book and love this series. Of course, I always suggest that you read the series from the beginning that way you aren’t lost. However, you can read this book by itself. This book will not disappoint and I most definitely cannot wait to read the last book in the series!

Repair (Rescue Me Book 1) by Trish Williford – Review by Melissa Agena

Repair (Rescue Me #1; The Everyday Heroes World)Repair by Trish Williford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’m going to start by saying that this book was a lot of fun. However, it was also very sweet. Repair: An Everyday Heroes World Novel is by Trish Williford. This is the first book that I have read from her and was pleasantly surprised. This story follows Charlotte “Charlie” Hawkins. Charlie was living the life that she chose as a Nurse in Denver. She had what she thought was a perfect life. That is until her fiancé’s mistress comes forward with the fact that she is now pregnant with his baby! So with that being said, she goes back home where is she is faced with her brother’s best-friend Tank, who just happens to be someone that she has been in love with for a very long time.
I just enjoyed the banter between her, her brother and Tank. You can tell they are all really close. It was great to see the development of each of the characters. It was adorable seeing how much Tank really cares for Charlie. I was really engulfed in this book and how I felt like I was a part of their little crew and the story itself. I would really recommend this book to anyone who loves books that are sweet and sexy. I cannot wait to read more from this author and look forward to more sweetness and sexiness.

Avenging Devil Part 2: Satan's Devils MC San DiegoAvenging Devil Part 2: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow. I am completely wowed by this story. Avenging Devil Part 2 is Book 4 in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series by Manda Mellett. This author has such a way with words and knows exactly how to suck you in from the beginning. This story is the continuation of the third book in the series. Saffie has a seriously ridiculous past. Full of violence and abuse that no woman should ever endure. And for Saffie there just may be no way out. Not if Niran has anything to do with it however. Niran is in the thick of it and Saffie believes the lies that are displayed. Will he ever be able to get her and himself out alive? Will she ever believe the real Niran? Well, I am not going to spoil it for you. I will tell you that you will be on an emotional roller coaster. There are so many ups and downs along with twists and turns. This book is so stinking good, I am so excited for the next book in the series. However, I do recommend at least reading Part 1 before you read this book so you can understand what is taking place. You will not be disappointed with this book or any of the books in this series!

Sex on Fire: A Quickie Read (Naughty Neighbor Book 1)Sex on Fire: A Quickie Read by Ashley Bostock
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so excited for this series! Sex on Fire: A Quickie Read is the first book in the Naughty Neighbor series by Ashley Bostock. This author really has a way of sucking you in from the beginning and then keeping you there right until you read the words “The End.” This is not first series I have read from this author so I’m thrilled to be reading her again. This is a short story featuring Poppy and Turner. Poppy is a little bit on the nerdy side seeing as though she is into video games and the like. Turner is her seriously hot neighbor. In this very short 38 page story, there is a ton of chemistry and a ton of flirtatious banter. I have fallen in love with this book and cannot wait to read more.

Snowflakes and Holly (Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson – Review by Melissa Agena

Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance)Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance by Jae Dawson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Who doesn’t love the idea of Christmas, Winter and Romance? I freaking love it! Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance is the fourth book in the Hartwood Holiday Romance Series by Jae Dawson. This book pretty much has this magical holiday summed up into an awesome little package. This book was so stinking adorable I couldn’t stand it. Definitely filled with a lot of laughter and a great big dose of Christmas sprinkled with a bit of spicy romance! Holly is a physical therapist who plays by the rules so to speak. She never veers off course after losing her father so tragically. Blake is the complete opposite and the dare devil of the two as a former Olympic Snowboarder Medalist. Blake is heartbreakingly diagnosed with a bone disease and the only person that is going to get him back to his former self is of course, Holly. However, there is something to be said about the Holidays that brings people closer. These two together are a match made in heaven! The chemistry between these two is off the charts! I loved the way that these two banter and how their relationship develops throughout the book. This is the fourth book in the series but can definitely be read as a standalone. I was very happy that I was able to read this book and definitely recommend this book to others! You won’t be disappointed.

Avenging Devil Part 1: Satan's Devils MC San DiegoAvenging Devil Part 1: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok, I am now thoroughly convinced that Manda Mellett is an AMAZING author! Avenging Devil Part 1 is the third book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego Series. What a book this was! It was complex and dark and downright so freaking good! There are so many twists and turns and emotional ups and downs, that you really don’t know what to do with yourself at times. Saffie hasn’t had the easiest life but when she marries into the MC world she never expected the life that she has. She knows she needs to get out and fast but she doesn’t even know how to attempt to leave. That’s when Niran comes in and knows that he needs to help her. Reading this book makes my heart break for Saffies character and Niran shows up when Saffie needs him the most. I loved this book and the author that wrote it. It already states that this book is Part 1 so therefore you know that this is a cliffhanger and the second book is around the corner. But what you don’t know is how much of an impact the cliffhanger really is! However, you do need to read the book to find out! You can read this book as a standalone but you know me, I always say to start at the beginning. You won’t be disappointed!

Turning Wheels (Satan's Devils MC, #1)Turning Wheels by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely adore this book and this author! Turning Wheels is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC series by Manda Mellett. I love this book for a multitude of reasons. This author really knows how to grab your attention from the very beginning and for me that is HUGE! My attention has to be caught from the get go or else I will stop reading it. This book…I started from beginning to end in a matter of a couple of days. I did not want to put it down! This book follows Sophie who was tragically injured and left in a wheel chair. Then it turns out that someone is after her with a contract to kill her. Wraith is the Satan’s Devils MC Vice President. The MC has been brought in to protect her. What they didn’t realize is there is an undeniable connection that is formed between Wraith and Sophie. Sophie is also left depressed with no self-esteem left. So what does Wraith do? He shows her how much she is worth exactly albeit through a bunch of twists and turns that no one sees coming! I love these two and the sass only a British woman can have! This book does not disappoint and neither do the rest of Manda’s books!

Brink of Denial (Sons of Sindicato #1)Brink of Denial by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh My! What a salacious collaboration! Brink of Denial: A Dark Mafia Romance is the first book in the Sons of Sindicato Series by Sonja Jesus and Cam Johns. Mila is the former Princess of the Sons of Sindicato Mafia. She decided that she wanted to live her own life away from the mafia and become a famous model. But unfortunately, she left behind her only regret…Dane. Dane was her best friend and her first in many aspects. Dane has cut off all emotions since she left. All except anger. Now, Mila wants back in and wants Dane back, but what is she going to have to do to have it all back? This was most definitely a page turner! It was so incredibly good that I couldn’t put the book down! I loved all the characters and Mila and Dane worked so well together. I can only attest that this book is so good because the authors were on the same page as each other the whole time. It’s like two voices became one and the result was amazing! You will not regret reading this book.

Mountains Wanted (Mountains #1)Mountains Wanted by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Of course there is a cliff hanger! When things get really good…it stops. Mountains Wanted is the first book in the Mountains series by Phoebe Alexander. First we meet Dr. Sarah Lynde who is a doctor in Sociology. Then we meet First Sergeant James McAllister who is serving in the Army. Neither one want anything permanent. But then again they never expected the immense chemistry that the two share. Are they setting themselves up for complete failure or will they risk it all? I’ll let you decide. But I will tell you that this book was written very well and the characters are super well developed. You can completely feel the chemistry exuding from those two. This story is very much one that explores different areas of sexuality and you may or may not learn a thing or two. It was a really easy book to read and it definitely kept me turning those pages. I was impressed with this book and its author. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to find out what happens next!

Braelynn Shaw is a criminal attorney that has just been promoted. Seth Giordano is a mafia crime lord. She’s in love with him. His family isn’t very fond of her. That is until they face the same enemy. This book is one of those edge of your seat books that you definitely cannot put down once you start reading. Wow! The best book yet in this series! The Devoted Fan is Book 5 in the 21st Century Courtesan Series by P.S. Dumond. This time Evie is about to learn a lesson in Karma. Even though she was not able to help heal the first person that she loved she continues to push forward. This story just like the others is filled with page turning twists and turns. I was very impressed with this book. You will definitely learn that yes, there is a price to pay for EVERYTHING. All of the characters in this story are wonderful and bring this story to a life. This was quite a page turner and once I started I couldn’t put it down. I do suggest that if you haven’t read the first books in the series, that you do. Walker Pride (The Walker Family, #1)Walker Pride by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great book! I seriously can’t wait for the next book in the series! Walker Pride is book 1 in the Walker Family series by Bernadette Marie. Susan is trying to build her catering business up so she moves to Georgia. Eric is part of the Walker clan and basically just wants to be left alone to do what he always does, which is to take care of the land that he lives on. That is until a family member passes away and all hell comes to head. At the reading of the will, Eric stumbles upon Susan while she caterers this luncheon. She is a bit intriguing to him and he finds himself wanting to know more. Susan just got divorced not too long ago but Eric Walker is interesting and not to mention, pretty hot. I agree that this book was a little bit slow at first but quickly picks up and becomes a serious page turner! I loved the characters and the little bit of mystery with all the family secrets. This is definitely a book that I would recommend and will wait quite anxiously for the next book in the series!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok…so this series just keeps getting better and better! The Husband (21st Century Courtesan) is Book 4 in the series written by Pamela DuMond. This series from the start had me hooked. Evie is an Empath, who get paid quite handsomely by very rich men to be with her. She’s able to solve their problems and she is very good at what she does. This book is a continuation from the first three books in the series. I highly recommend reading this series from the very beginning. There is a lot of circumstances that you need to know when reading this book and it makes more sense to read it from the first book. However, in this book Evie is brought on by a variance of feelings. Grieving, Loss, and Sadness to name a few when the love of her life has passed away. I absolutely love this book and this entire series. It definitely has original content. This isn’t something that I have read before, which makes it so much better. Everything about this book is amazing right down to the characters and all of their stories. I sincerely recommend this book and can’t wait to read more from this author!

All she wants to do is be able to teach dance and own her own dance studio. So what does she do? She joins the Army National Guard. Detective Edward Petrosky is in search of a lethal killer when they find the newborn baby of his regular server at the diner he normally goes to. Everything in his life is starting to fall in line and everything is good when he figures out that all signs turn the same murderer that killed his partner many years ago. I swear, this series just keeps getting better and better! I love all of the twists and turns that are intertwined with story. You start at page one and you seriously cannot put it down. I get so involved with the storyline that I suddenly immerse myself in it and the next thing you know, I’m working right along with them to solve this case! Jordan's ShadowJordan’s Shadow by T.R. Cupak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW! I was truly impressed with this book! Jordan’s Shadow by T.R. Cupak is about Lezleigh Fillmore AKA Jordan Smith. Lezleigh was a privileged girl who after her father died, lived with her “mother” and then also her step-father. One night, things went too far with her step-father and his associates and from then on she was Jordan a poor girl fighting with addiction to forget that tragic night. Hunter Knight or “The Shadow” was a client of Jordan’s and has been one for the last 3 years. Even though Jordan hasn’t ever seen him she is intrigued and a bit in love with him. Hunter has ulterior motives though. He knows who Jordan is, is in love with her and wants to seek out revenge for her. So he sets course to make that happen for her. This story is all kinds of messed up but it makes for a seriously good book. This story was written so well that I did not want to put this book down! You feel so broken hearted for her and want to help fix her. However, she ends up finding herself in the end. This book is also very empowering. Now, the sexy scenes in the book are very yummy and very hot! I love the connection between this couple along with Monte, their bodyguard. This book is all about revenge and self-preservation. I would absolutely recommend this book to someone and cannot wait to read more from this author!

Twisted Throttle (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #3)Twisted Throttle by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just simply, WOW! The more and more that I delve into this series, the more that I love it! Twisted Throttle is the third book in the Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation series by Manda Mellett. I was a bit surprised with Noah aka Throttle, who happens to be Peg and Darcy’s son. Throttle is now the Enforcer of the mother chapter of Satan’s Devils in Tucson. It’s so cool to see these men all grown up now! In this book, Throttle seems to have a stalker. As soon as he gains on this stalker, a curve ball smacks him right in the face. Her name is Gwen. Just like so many of the other brothers in the series, Throttle is not ready for a permanent “Old Lady.” So what do you think happens between the two of them? I love these two and can’t wait to see where they go in future books. There are so many twists and turns. The reason I love this series and this author is the fact that you really never know what will happen. There are so many twists and turns that there is just no way you can predict the outcome of ANYTHING! It’s simply brilliant. There are never the same twists from book to book. Every book is a new adventure! Just like all the other series, I recommend you read it from the beginning but you can definitely read this one on its own. I love this series and cannot wait to read the next book!

I’m thoroughly impressed with this book and especially this series. Forged By Secrets is the third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops Series by Amy McKinley. In this book, we meet Malina Johansson who is an analyst for the Navy Seals. Tyler is her high school crush and in one night in Vegas with a whole lot of liquor things definitely changed. However, once they are back home, she becomes guarded and then she gets accused of Treason. Because of this, Tyler comes to her rescue to help fight her current demons and he will not stop until she is proven innocent. Not to mention if either one has a shot at happiness. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so completely invested in this series! It just keeps getting better and better. Witness is the ninth book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. This story has Detective Edward Petrosky scratching his head. With a typical burglary that turned into a giant mystery when he shows up to the crime scene and finds way too much blood for his liking. There is also questionability about the woman that fled the scene. She was supposedly killed 10 years prior in a fire. He also discovers that his surrogate daughter is at the center of all of this. Once again I am completely enraptured by this novel. I absolutely love Detective Petrosky and this series. There are always so many twists and turns that I have no idea what is going to come up next. This book will have you at the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to come next. You can’t and will not put this book down! As I always say with series, start from book one. Climbing The Walls (Hart & Cole Book 1)Climbing The Walls by Sacha T.Y. Fortuné
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This isn’t your typical love story. Climbing The Walls is the first book in the Hart & Cole Series by Sacha T. Y. Fortune. You typically read stories where the main characters are single looking for love. This story is quite the opposite. Kris and Nicole are married with two great kids. Nicole often wonders how she can deserve Kris. Nicole works…a lot! She’s a journalist and writer who has a boss that is constantly on her. All she wants is to be a better wife and mother. But when her boss confides in her that he is having marital problems, that when things get a bit shaky. This book really shows the ups and downs of marriage and the things we need to do to keep it together. I really enjoyed this book and all of the characters in it. This was a really easy story to read and ended up to be very intriguing. This is the first time I have read this author and was thoroughly impressed. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! This is for all you married people out there!

Jesse is a spoiled little daddy’s girl and not into the whole rodeo scene. When Jesse’s dad sends her to Las Vegas with Tuck things start to develop between the two. Their chemistry is amazing! They do say that opposites attract. In 40 pages, this author takes us on a wonderful journey between two completely different people. It was a very quick read but was really good. Her friends are trying to dissuade her from giving Ace a chance. What do you think she will do and do you think Ace will back down? This book is full of great comedy and great characters. I was a bit skeptical at first but as I started reading I found myself not being able to put the book down! I read this so quickly and wanted to read more. I can’t wait for the next book in the series! I would recommend this book to anyone!

Is This Me? (Being Me Book 1) by Tricia Copeland – Review by Melissa Agena

Is This Me? (Being Me #1)Is This Me? by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Total Page-Turner!! Is This Me? is the first book in the Being Me series by Tricia Copeland. Set as a College/New Adult setting, Amanda is starting her freshman year in college. She thought she had it all planned until life sent her a curve ball. Her friend decides that she is going to attend her first college fraternity party. There she meets Doug, who of course, is all wrong for her. Thankfully that doesn’t amount to much until one day she becomes injured and needs the help of her friends and this guys is here to help. What will happen? You’ll have to read to find out. The characters in this book are really great! I loved reading about Amanda and the choices leading her into adulthood. This book is great for anyone but for those that are starting college, this is an excellent book. You will enter a rollercoaster of emotions and hard decisions. You will definitely not want to put this book down and want to read more afterward. I, myself cannot wait to read the book in the series to see how Amanda’s life has progressed!

Twisted Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Melissa Agena

Twisted SecretsTwisted Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hot Navy Seals? I’m in! Twisted Secrets is the first book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series by Amy McKinley. Lust at first sight is what pulls Riley Evans in but is totally skeptical. Riley typically attracts me who are completely wrong for her. That is until she meets Navy Seal Xander Hale. The attraction is clearly undeniable. However, Riley doesn’t automatically give in to her attraction. However, Xander keeps pursuing her and she eventually gives in. Then things get a little hanky and needs Xander’s help to keep her safe and alive. There were so many twists and turns that made this book completely unpredictable, which was so awesome. The chemistry between them slowly smolders until it begins to flame. When it does it is hot and steamy! It was definitely a page-turner that I absolutely did not want to put down. I loved this book and cannot wait for the next book in the series! This series is going to be awesome!

Capturing Fate by Abbie Roads – Review by Melissa Agena

Capturing Fate (Fatal Truth, #2)Capturing Fate by Abbie Roads
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Do you love murder mysteries involving serial killers? This is the one to read! Capturing Fate is written by Abbie Roads and it is completely enthralling. Dolan Watts is an FBI agent that has a boat load of demons that he is battling. Not to mention the number of enemies that he has obtained over the years as an agent. To help him he meets Psychologist Daughter Dawson. Just like Dolan, Daughter is battling her own set of demons. When she unlocks those demons, things start to happen and a serial killer emerges. The chemistry between these two is pretty electric. It was super exciting to see these two battle their demons together. This was definitely a page turner! So full of suspense and psychological twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat. I was so glad to see that this turned out to be a HEA. I don’t think that I would have been happy if it wasn’t. I was super impressed with this read and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Stormy’s Thunder (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Melissa Agena

Stormy's Thunder (Satan's Devils MC Utah #2)Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author has done it again! Amanda Mellett is the author of Stormy’s Thunder: Satan’s Devils MC Utah, which is book 2 in the series. I love all of the Satan’s Devils books. There are all kinds of twists and turns and emotional rollercoasters. This book is no exception. Stormy is a man that has a lot of demons in his closet. This is when his demons come back to haunt him. But this time, he has something worth fighting for…Cat. The chemistry between these two is undeniable. Their connection and their commitment to each other is off the charts. I love the way that this author writes these stories. I am 100% behind this and all the other series. This book sucks you in and keeps you flipping pages until you are done with it! I was not disappointed at all! I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
