All I can say is wow….Once I started reading this book I was pulled right in. My heart broke for Saffie and what she was put through. When she finally gets the help she has been needing for years she gets a whole new life.

Niran joined the MC after his release from the Marines. He gets roped into taking Mary, his MC brother’s wife, to her doctor’s appointment. This is where he sees Saffie and is instantly drawn to her. When Mary and Niran walk out of the appointment they find Saffie in dire straits and offer her help. Nirans protective side comes out and he doesn’t want to leave her. She clearly needs help.

Will they be able to help her? Will Saffie finally find someone that she can call friends?

This read is part one and there are so many twists and turns. I will warn that right from the beginning there are huge triggers, some that even made me flinch. This book was a 4 star read for me, it took me a little bit to get into the story. I had a hard time connecting with Hadley at first. I felt like Hadley was portrayed more immature for her age group at times. After Hadley’s best friend moves away she gets bullied even more. Excited to be going to her grandparents for the summer she’s looking forward to getting to know her grandparents’ neighbor, Simone.

Hadley encounters up and down moments with Simone. She also meets Charlotte, a nice young lady that enjoys spending time with her. And she also meets Nick who she hits it off with at first, then there is a twist with him.

Overall I really enjoyed this read. I really liked the characters, Jordan is a tough as nails female who knows how to take care of herself and Grant had a childhood that helps him connect with lots of children on a personal level. There are some twists and turns that add a great element to the story. I will warn we do end on a cliff hanger and it will leave you wanting more right away. The Earl and the Peahen (The Scarlet Salon Book 5) by Jean Wilde – Review by Michelle Austin

The Earl and the PeahenThe Earl and the Peahen by Jean Wilde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoy historical romance and I loved this one. The author’s writing pulls you right in. This is the 5th book in The Scarlet Series but can be read as a stand alone.

This is Jane and Alexander’s story. Jane is determined to find love. She meets Alexander and it’s not love at first sight. They are total opposites and I had a LOL moment with the nickname she gave him. Moving forward they find themselves in a predicament that will throw them together and they grow closer.

Will they get home safely? Will they get a HEA or will they go back to the way things were?

Overall this was a great historical read. I really liked Jane and Alexander. If you’re looking for a read that pulls you right in, 1-click and start reading this one today. I look forward to reading more from this author.
