My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fiona’s dad is the head soccer coach at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He’s asked her to tutor an incoming fourth-year transfer that will be one of his players. Meeting this player in the library, Fiona is startled to find her old friend, Connor, has returned. Fiona finally moved on from Connor after he moved away to escape his abusive father and from the death of her mother. She is now engaged to Lachlan, who was Connor’s best friend.

Connor has waited years to come back to Dublin to play for Trinity College. He’s a star, but all he wants is the girl who has never left his heart or mind, Fiona. Connor’s childhood was filled with abuse and Fiona and her parents opened their home to him as a child so he had a safe place. That often meant that he would stay the night in Fiona’s room.

Will fate bring Fiona and Connor together?

Moonlit Whisper is from the Moonlit Destination Series by Amy McKinley. All of the books in this series stand alone well. This book is a quick but good read. We meet Fiona who is currently dating Lachlan. He is kind of cocky and selfish. It makes the reader wonder why Fiona is even dating him. Then we meet Connor. He and Fiona are meant to be together. It was fun to read their backstory and how they grew up together. It’s a super short story but fun to read!

Amy McKinley strikes again! One of her shorter novels, Moonlit Whisper: An Irish Romance, this modern contemporary romance was good albeit too short for my liking, as I can never get enough of her writing! Amy is solidifying herself as one of my favorite authors the more I read of her, every book I read I finish wanting more of her!

A classic second chance at romance, Amy does a great job at giving backgrounds to each of the main characters, helping the reader to understand the character and romance between them. I devoured this book in mere hours, much like her other novels, and am excited to read more!

Overall, the story was a decent, quick read though I did have a heard time getting involved in this story. I would have liked to see more depth of the characters though I do understand that since it was short that is not always easy to do. The base of it is enjoyable and I really liked the character connections between Fiona, Connor and Lach. I would read more from this author and would like to see other types of books from her.

Fiona and Connor met when they were kids and life separated them only to find each other later as adults. When they are brought together again they realize they never stopped loving each other. I like this story, these two had to cross obstacles to get back together. Author Amy McKinley did not disappoint in this romantic story. It is a smooth, quick read perfect for a take along when you need something to fill time with. You will not be disappointed.

Moonlit Whisper : An Irish Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley. Let me start this review by saying how much I adored this story , this author never fails to drag me into her stories and making me never want to join reality again. This is a quick read but it’s not hindered in anyway but that, from start to finish it had everything I was needing in a great read. The characters are complex and relatable, they pulled me right in and I didn’t want to leave. I happily got lost in the pages with them for a while. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. But the characters truly bring it to life and I loved the time I got to spend with them. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

This story was very enjoyable, although too short. Fiona, Lach, and Conner are all strong characters who are different in many ways but each with their own strengths. I thought that the author did a great job of giving you just a taste of each characters background and then bringing it all together. This author doesn’t put in a bunch of extra fluff words which I really like. I thought that Fiona was a strong female character who knew what she wanted and made it happen. The romance was very sweet and I could see all the characters from this book being in a full length novel and driving it remarkably well.

Moonlit Whisper by Amy McKinley is a novella in the Moonlit Destination Series. This book can be read as a standalone.

Fiona agrees to help the new transfer student from the football team. She definitely had no reason to believe it would be Connor. What were the chances? She thought she’d never see him again. Will they be able to rekindle the closeness they had or is there too much history?

I truly enjoyed reading this book even though it was on the shorter side. I wouldn’t complain about reading more of Fiona and Connor’s story! It was very well written you just get sucked in until the end!

Four stars

This was a short and sweet story. You don’t really learn much about the characters since it’s so short. You do get a lot of background history about Fio, Lach and Connor. I found the relationship dynamic interesting. I didn’t like how Fio kept talking about how she needed Connor and he wasn’t there. Like she wouldn’t have survived without a guy to lean on. Like he had no choice. Her relationship with Lach was so fake I saw the outcome s mile away. I loved how the necklace played a part in this. The fairies waking her up was extremely cute. Overall a nice quick read

This is a quick sweet read. This author always delivers and this time was no different. I wish the book would have been longer because I didn’t want it to end. I would love to keep reading about these wonderful characters. This story flows nicely and has plenty going on. Fiona, Connor, and Lachlan have been friends since childhood. Connor is now back after being gone for a while and he is hoping that Fiona still feels the same way about him that he feels about her. What will Lachlan have to say about Connor being back? To find out what happens with this trio this is a must read. I highly recommend this book. You will enjoy this quick romantic read.

Moonlit Whisper : An Irish Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley

This is another great read by Amy McKinley. McKinley knows how to draw readers in and keep them wanting more.

Fiona is a fourth year college student and is happy. At least she thinks she is. When the boy from next door moves back things change. The quote I chose for Fiona is: “I’m glad you’re back, Connor, but I’m not yours anymore. I’m engaged to Lachlan.”

Connor left his hometown to get away from his abusive dad. When he comes back he finds that things have changed. When Fiona ends her engagement he gets another chance. The quote I chose for Conner is: “It’s our turn, Fio, like we were always meant to be. I’m never leaving you again.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Moonlit Whisper was a great read for me. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. Fiona, Connor and Lachlan were all childhood friends. Fio ( Fiona ) always left her window unlocked for Connor and he spent most nights sleeping in her bed. Connor was having major family issues and he left town because he was able to play soccer and get away from his family problems. Now he’s back and he wishes everything could go back to how they were before he left. Only problem is, Fiona and Lachlan are together now and Lachlan isn’t giving her up without a fight. Once best of friends now compete at nearly everything. Who will win the girl? Read this quick novella to find out what happens.

Another great short, PG-13 romance from Amy McKinley. I liked this one better than A Moonlit Whisper because I found the love triangle and the college setting more interesting. Fiona is faced with a difficult decision: Stay with her fiancé, Lachlan, or rekindle her romance with her long lost ex-boyfriend, Conner.

Fictional or not, I never agree with people who cheat on their partners, so I was interested to see how A Moonlit Whisper dealt with this. In the end, I believe that the story had enough substance and backstory for everything to resolve the way McKinley wanted. I recommend this for anyone looking for a nice, short romance.

Moonlit Whisper: An Irish Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) is a short novel by Amy McKinley. The story follows the reunion of Fiona, a 4th year student at Trinity College in Dublin and her childhood best friend Connor, who has been living abroad for the last few years. Although they have both missed each other terribly, things have changed now they are no longer children. Fiona is engaged to the other member of their childhood trio and he is not happy about Connors return. This was an enjoyable short novel, I would have liked it to be longer to get to know the characters more but it did move at a good pace and the descriptions of Dublin were really good, having visited several times it felt as though I knew exactly where the author was describing. Would recommend to other lovers of the romance genre who are looking for a quick read.

Moonlit Whisper: An Irish Romance by Amy McKinley is a novel in the Moonlit Destination series. This is a short, contemporary sports romance by an incredible author. Although part of a series the book can be read as a stand-alone. I loved this second chance romance. The characters had everything against them and yet I was behind them the whole way.
Although it is a novella the book doesn’t feel like it is missing anything at all. It is a well written and interesting story. It has a natural flow to it that makes it a nice and easy read. I would certainly recommend this story, and series, to anyone who is a fan of the genre.

Moonlit Whisper: An Irish Romance, is part of the Moonlit Destination series by Amy Mckinley.

Moonlight Whisper is a novella that can be devoured in an afternoon, which is handy as once i started reading i didn’t want to put it down.
The main characters, Fiona and Connor, were childhood sweethearts and best friends who were forced to split up when Connor followed his dream to play football. Fiona was crushed but eventually chose to move on. Of course Connor returns, but he finds Fiona with a new life and a new man.

This story is a feel-good romance that will have you hooked. This isn’t my first book by Amy Mckinley and in my experience she does not disappoint, and she certainly doesn’t here. The chemistry between Fiona and Connor is there from the start and you just know that they are meant to be together. As is the way with all good stories, these things never run smoothly, and these are the type of characters that you are rooting for throughout the whole book.

Moonlit Whisper: An Irish Romance is a fantastic contemporary romance novella by Amy McKinley. This novella was previously published in With Love From Venice (Voyages Of The Heart Anthology). Amy McKinley is an author that I’ve now been a huge fan of for a couple of years and it’s always an excitement to get to read more of her work. I absolutely loved this novella and devoured it in one sitting as I just didn’t want to put it down.
I could easily have read a full length novel containing the characters Fiona and Connor as I adored their story and could have read so much more about them. This is a second chance romance. Connor and Fiona were childhood sweethearts when Connor’s mum moved him away from his home in Ireland to a new life in America. Now Connor is back in Ireland to complete his final year of university, only Fiona is now engaged to Connor’s former best friend.
This was a great read that I was hooked by in the very first chapter and as the author is such a fantastic storyteller, I was hooked throughout desperate to know how Connor and Fiona’s story ended. Did they get the HEA that they both deserved? Can Fiona forgive Connor for leaving her? Well, I’m not going to spoil the story for you. Give this great novella, (and this fantastic author) a chance and lose yourself in Connor and Fiona’s story.

Moonlit Whisper is a short and sweet second chance at love novelette that can be read as a standalone story. Fiona (Fio) is engaged to childhood friend Lach but when Connor returns from living across the pond Fio is torn between her new love and her old childhood sweetheart. Connor had to leave Dublin to live with his Mum but he hated leaving behind Fio and he definitely never forgot her. When Connor returns as a fourth year transfer student at Trinity to play football he is determined to have Fio in his arms again and this time for ever. Fio also never forgot the boy who used to climb through her bedroom window and the more time they spend together with Fio tutoring Connor the closer they become. This was an enjoyable and engaging short read with some great characters. The chemistry between Fiona and Connor really came across in the story as did the competition and tension between Connor and Lach. The narrative flowed well and I felt immersed in the storyline, so much so that I could not put the book down.

Moonlit Whisper: An Irish Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Moonlit Whisper (An Irish Romance)Moonlit Whisper by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Moonlit Whisper is a novella in Amy McKinley’s Moonlit Destination Series. The series collects short romantic reads set in different locations – in this case, it is Ireland. Moonlit Whisper can be enjoyed as a standalone – it doesn’t follow on at all from Moonlit Mirage, which is connected to the Gray Ghost series.
Set in Dublin, Moonlit Whisper tells the story of Fiona, Connor and Lachlan. Childhood friends, the trio is split up when Connor accepts a football (soccer) scholarship in the US in order to help his mum escape from domestic abuse. Old enough to return to Ireland without his mother, Connor is back and keen to pick up where he left off with Fiona.
It’s a classic love triangle, with Fiona stuck in the middle forced to choose between her two friends while they compete with each other both on and off the football field. There are many factors that complicate things and a few wee mysteries to piece together.
I would say, as a Destination book, more could have been made of the setting, but we do get to explore a bit of Dublin as the characters figure things out between them.
For me, this is a four-star read. It’s great if you want a quick burst of romance in one sitting!

Moonlit Whisper is a novelette in the Moonlit Destination series. It can be read as a standalone.
This book is a quick read. It’s a little bit angsty, which I’m totally on board with because it offsets the tender moments nicely. It took me a minute to remember that soccer outside of the US is called football so I was little confused right at the beginning when it was talking about a football field but kicking to score a goal, lol. (*facepalm*)
I like that, even though this is not a full-length novel, you get the full-length feel. The characters are well developed and you get the background of the characters woven in so the picture is complete by the end.
Overall, good read!

When Fiona was asked to help out a transfer student, little did she know a blast from the past would come back and haunt her.

Fiona has been asked to help a new transfer student out from the football team but when she meets him for the first time she can’t believe its Connor, the boy who she had feelings for all those many years ago but he went away and she thought he was gone forever.

Connor had to leave to help support his family, now that he is back in Dublin can he rekindle the love he had for Fiona or has she moved on.

I really enjoyed this story, I have read many stories from this author and love them all, this does not disappoint. The interaction between the two characters was brilliant and although you feel the heartache for both of them the story developed into a great book.

I felt like I was transported into the story with each turn of the page and my only disappointment was the book was not long enough. I recommend all of Amy’s books you will not be disappointed with the well written stories and well developed characters. Give her a go.

I really do adore this author. I get lost in her books so easily and they are always a pleasure to read. Moonlit Whisper was a lovely second chance romance novella, I read it quite quickly but that was definitely because I was so swept up in what I was reading. There were a few times I was a little confused with the flashbacks but it didn’t take me long to figure out the writing style Ms McKinley had adopted for this story. It was emotional at times and I definitely felt for Fiona.
Overall a lovely story, with wonderful characters and a nice storyline with a few twists! I definitely recommend this story to other readers!

I highly recommend them because they are short enough to read in an evening, and they are great HEA love stories. This one features Fiona, Lachlan and Connor. I read it in a super short amount of time but it was so good it kept me thinking about it long after. Its the story of Flo whose dad is a football coach so when he asks her to tutor one of his players she doesn’t think much about it until she figures out who it is. Its none other than Connor who used to sneak in and out of her room at night, the Connor who broke her heart when he left. The main reason Connor came back was Flo and to finish out his Senior year but now he has to not only win Flo back but he has the added competition of his ex best friend Lach. Will Flo choose Connor or Lach? Read Moonlit Whisper to find out!
