Bared.: A Green St. Girls Romance by N.D Jackson

I have had the pleasure of reading Ms. Jackson in the past and throughly enjoyed what I have read Soni thought I would give this a try and I’m not sorry I did.

Athena had many good qualities but she frustrated me so many times that I wanted to smack her in the back of the head to maybe see if she would figure it out but luckily she had Gwyn and Indigo to help her along.

I can’t think of one negative thought I ever had of Tru.  He was honest maybe to a fault and took good care of his Mama which as a Mama is an important Trait.

There was a lot of angst and back and forth especially with Athena, but I don’t think it would have worked if she had been any different.

I enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next in the series.

Bared was a good 4 star read for me. Athena is such a strong character but sometimes she annoyed me. No matter what happened she kept trying to keep Tru at arms length. No
Matter how hard he tried and he did try hard, she had steel walls guarding her heart. Tru lets her into his personal life in hopes that Athena will open up and really try to give this a shot. Will Athena ever let her walls down and let Tru in ?
I thought this boom was well written and I loved the characters. I just felt like something was missing. I don’t know what but I just feel like I was looking for something else to happen. I’m looking forward to more in this series in the future.

This is a new author to me. And I look forward to reading more.
Athena is one of the Green Street Girls.
She’s beautiful, successful and doesn’t have love in the cards until Tru walks in to her bar.
Tru is a professional pool player and travels. He walks into Athena’s bar not expecting to meet the fiesty owner.
There is definitely chemistry between the two but Athena doesn’t want love!!
Will Tru change her mind?

This is the first book by N.D. Jackson that I have read. I am a HUGE fan of romance novels of every variety. There were some things that I could do without but the story of Athena and her past is so well written and when she meets TRU, she wants him and something starts to shift inside her. The characters are really great and Athena and Tru together are perfect. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Green Street is where they came from. Charlie, Gwyn, Indigo and Athena. This is Athena’s story. Shoved out into the world, she made the most of it. She is a millionaire, has clubs all over; but she decides to do something different and open a pool hall. Sponsoring a pool tournament is where she meets him, Tru. Their chemistry is hot from the first moment. Athena wants him, but just for the sex in the short term. Can Tru capture her heart and make her want to keep him?
Athena is great, strong, and a very independent woman. I love stories with a strong heroine. They make me feel empowered. That I can do and conquer anything.

This book really captured my interest. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Romance being the main element with drama, passion, darkness, tragedy and sex. It’s everything I look for in a romance novel.

Bared is about an emotionally broken woman named Athena who had a dark past making it very hard to open up to anyone who isn’t one of her few best friends. She then meets a pool player named Tru who also had trust issues. The passion between them was inevitable but was it strong enough to get past both their hardships?

The relationship between Athena and her two best friends was very authentic in my opinion. They bantered like I would with my own friends. I loved how the author wrote all of the characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. It was refreshing to read a romance that wasn’t super fairy tale like.

Cute read

This is the first book by N.D. Jackson that I have read. It was an easy read, that I did enjoy. It starts off with a tragedy and a promise. It was interesting to see how Athena overcomes her past and opens her heart to the possibility of love. The story is beautiful. There were moments that made my heart cry. Tru was everything she needed and more. I love Athena and Tru together. I look forward to reading more stories from this world.

I loved this heartwarming and at times heartbreaking story about friendship and finding love, a real page turner of a contemporary romance. The storyline follows four girls who are known as ‘The Green Street Girls’, they include Charlie, Gwyn, Indigo and Athena. Each girl has their own story but they have all been sent away and were left alone in the world until they found each other and have supported one another ever since. This story centred on Athena who has a devastating backstory but who despite this is now a millionaire at twenty one and owns a pool hall. It’s at the pool hall where she first meets Tru, when he walked in as though he owned the place! She first noticed his confident walk and his killer smile and she thought he would be good for a fling but definitely not someone for any long term commitment. However, she soon starts to fall in love with him and hopes that he is also up for a more permanent relationship.

I loved the characters, especially the four girls and their friendship really came across in the writing, and I look forward to reading each ones own story in this series. Athena is very likeable and relatable and I really felt for her and could understand why she had built up walls to protect herself until Tru came along. The chemistry between them sizzled off the page and led to some steamy scenes. They were great together and I was cheering them on hoping they would get their happy ever after. I was hooked from the start and thought this was an enjoyable and engaging read and a great start to the series.

Bared was an ok read. I really wanted to love this book better than I did. The synopsis sounded great and I thought it would be incredible. Maybe it was just an off reading day but this book didn’t capture my attention at all. I never felt drawn in, to the stories or the characters. It was entertaining, just didn’t hold my attention. I hate that I didn’t love this book like I wanted to. I’m going to give it 4 stars though I didn’t hate it. It was just very eh to me. It was well written and had a great premise I just really think I had an off reading day. Maybe I’ll enjoy the next book in this series better!

Does a shattered past destroy true love? Athena runs a pub in Chicago where a pool tournament is being hosted. That’s where she runs into Tru, an Adonis Dof a man, a professional pool player. Athena is living up to everything she has done in the past with men, but one of her best friends Charlie who she promised on her deathbed that she would do more with her life. Teu is just the man to do that with. At first she is just wanting a fling knowing he will be leaving soon after the tournament, but she never expected him to get under her skin and behind all of her walls she has put up. She is scared to let anyone other than her friends and sisters deeper into her life due to her past. As a teenager she was exiled by her parents due to a boy and it has haunted her life ever since because she can’t move past it to let anyone else in. She finally bares herself to Tru in more ways than she ever expected. This was an absolutely amazing story. It kept me captivated and enticed the entire time. Its erotic and tempting but yet heartwrenching all at the same time. Hope to read more from N.D. Jackson in the near future!

Bared is a story about Athena, a rockin’ entrepreneur who has several clubs all over the coast keeping her in the upper class. Tru is a kind and caring man who has been hurt before, and plays a mad game of pool. When their worlds collide, they realize how much they need each other. But will their pasts stop them from being together? This is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. It has shock and awe, romance, unpredictability, and such amazing, relatable characters. Read this book if you like to watch characters grow, see the hardships couples go through, and love the best friends who always have your back. What more could a girl ask for?

Bared by N.D. Jackson was full of friendship and so many feelings that I was overwhelmed with emotions. I am still new to this author (only my 2nd book) but her writing has a way of pulling you in with wonderful characters and her attention to details in her storytelling. I felt there were two relationships in the spotlight – Tru and Athena and the girls of Green Street (I want the Green Street Girls to be my friends!). Bared broke my heart and then had me crying as I put it back together. I can’t wait for the other Green St Girls to find their HEAs. Remember to live your life!

I loved everything about this book!

Athena is a successful woman motivated by the pain of her past. Can she overcome that or will she let it get in her way of the super hot pool player that comes in to her pool hall?

She is surrounded by money and lifelong friends that are better than family.

I loved Athena’s personality. I loved Tru and his Ma. I loved the dialog with Indigo and Gwyn towards Athena’s decisions (or lack of).

This was a quick read. I couldn’t put it down. There was steam. There was emotion.

Bared. (Green St. Girls #1)Bared. by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bared is book one in the Green Street Girls Romance series by N. D. Jackson. The story was an emotionally charged drama that flowed along gracefully and dramatically. Athena and her soul sisters were ready to take on the world and falling in love was not in the cards for her. Tru comes along and rocks her to her very core. She was unprepared for all of the feelings he invoked, all that he represented and the way he wedged his way into her heart. She had her girls and her business and that was all she needed. Or so she thought.
These characters blended together well and despite their individuality, they connected very well and were a pleasure to read about. The author spun a wonderfully intricate and thought provoking tale. A fabulous introduction to the Green Street girls. An endearing story. 4 stars.

A straight up sexy romance novel. Despite there not being much in the storyline besides Athena’s reluctant personal growth and the push and pull romance between Athena and Tru this novel kept me engaged, reading more, wanting to know what would happen next.

Can’t say I’ve read a romance novel before where one of the main characters was a professional pool player, and I’m so here for it.

I enjoyed the added backstory of Tru’s mixed heritage and the stressors reared with that. Also, Tru’s mom was a hoot and such a strong supportive side character. I loved the impact she, as well as Imogen and Gwyn has on Athena and Tru’s budding relationship.

I admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of the teasing of Athena’s backstory. I feel like it would have had more of an impact if we knew the complete backstory story of what had occurred closer to the beginning rather than hints dropped here and there.

As this is advertised as one of the Green Street Girls romance novels I can’t wait to read more about Imogen and Gwyn, and to see where Tru and Athena are down the road.

Athena is the character that I didn’t know I needed. She is strong and fierce and knows how to run her own businesses and make a hell of a profit. She has her sisters (in name, not blood) and they are proof that a woman can do everything a man can do – even in a predominantly man’s world – and even do it better. I was instantly hooked on this story from the first page and could not put it down until it was finished. The storyline at the beginning tugs on your heartstrings in such a way that makes you root for Athena, Indigo, and Gwyn. This was Athena’s story and it was told incredibly well. I felt her pain, her inner turmoil, and her happiness with every line written. She had an extremely rough time from 17 on and she turned it into one of the best things that could have happened to her.
Tru is the epitome of what happens when a good-at-heart man works extremely hard to get where he is in life. There was nothing that came easy for him growing up and he proved that his determination could win out and he could do exactly what he set his heart and mind to. He is a professional billiards player and travels around the world doing tournaments and taking care of his mother. It isn’t until he meets Athena that his past heartbreak becomes something he is ready to move on from.
The two of them together made this book something incredible. The chemistry between them was evident from their first meeting and my eyes stayed glued to this book until I soaked up every word. I cannot wait to see more from ND Jackson and the Green St. Girls! If you haven’t read it yet, don’t hesitate. HIGHLY recommend!

I stayed up – until 3am to finish this book and there are ZERO regrets. We follow Tru and Athena who just so happen meet in a pub that Athena owned. Of course, with a name like Athena she was totally a goddess – and she looked like one as well. The book goes through the hardships of Tru and Athenas lives pre and post meeting. And let me tell you. It is AMAZING. This is the perfect romance book. Their chemistry is amazing – and let me not forget to mention that Athena and I are way to similar for comfort. I would actually bake the author a whole cake for a “sister” story on Gwyn & Indigo because I KNOW those stories would be amazing too. If you want an all around feel good romance, this is for you!

This was such a great read had me hooked and an excellent first edition to the series. It is about 4 girl friends who have had to fend for themselves and support eachother. But book 1 is mainly about Athena. The last thing she wants or needs is to fall in love but then comes along Tru and she can’t seem to stay away from him.
He pushes her buttons and makes her feel alive again. They have great sexual chemistry and they continue to winde each other up yet they both grow to realise that they would actually be amazing together.

I really enjoyed this book and start to what looks to be a promising new series from ND Jackson. Bared. is a wonderful little romance with a sweet group of friends that will make you want to call your besties right now and book a spa day or a sleepover. I know I did! I found myself crying and laughing several times and I love when a book can really pull the emotions from you as you read which is something that ND Jackson is wonderful at in all of her novels. This book is definitely one that will keep you up late or away from the house chores so plan to block out some time as you get sucked into the world of Tru and the Green St Girls. Athena Montgomery is one of the Green Street girls. She and her friends have stood by each other through thick and thin since they all met at an apartment complex on Green Street in Chicago. They are family. Athena is a successful club manager and is worth millions. The only thing she has a problem doing is letting someone into her small circle.

Tru Blake is one of the players in the WPBA tournament that is being held at Shamrock. He is returning to Chicago after a long stint of being away from the city that created him. He’s learned a lot of tricks for playing pool since his younger days, but here he is back home and all he wants is to prove that he is the best.

Athena meets Tru at the Shamrock, the pool hall/bar that she purchased and pieced together in memory of her friend Charlie. Tru is a great male specimen, but Athena is only looking for something temporary. That is until the large wall around her heart begins to crumble.

ND Jackson has written a remarkable story involving two people who are running away from their pasts. Can Athena and Tru find something real in a future together?

This is Athena ‘ s story and who she finds in Tru. But that will not be so easy for Athena. Her life so far has been worth forgetting, the damage is already there. Okay so she promised her best friend she would try. A deathbed promise is the worst, Athena must give it her all. As for Tru, well he has his own story to tell. Can these two souls be the real thing? Will Athena let her wall come down and live the life she had promised?

N. D. Jackson, you have given me hope with this one! This story is well written and at times you find yourself standing beside Athena. The rollercoaster of emotions with pull at your heartstrings. I found myself unable to put this one down. I love everything about this story, and look forward to the next in Green St. Girls. Well Done N. D. Jackson! Well Done!

This is another new author for me but looking at the book cover reminded me of a soap opera, so I had to pick it up. I found this to be a very will written book with a wonderful cast of characters. I especially fell in love with the main character as she seemed to be acting irrationally trying to find herself. Something that I have also experienced in my younger twenties. I feel like this made the story more relatable to me and therefore I couldn’t put it down. Watching the main character overcome her emotional and inner turmoil made me laugh and cry as I could feel not only her pain and angst, but her need to find trusting anyone to be a problem. I can truly say I have been in her shoes. This is a good read and I do recommend you pick it up and give it a read.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Fabulous book by Author N.D. Jackson. I am so happy I picked this book up. Athena is strong willed, independent, wealthy multi business owner. She was kicked out of her home by her parents when she was 17 years old by a tragic event and never looked back. Tru, a sweet but yet cocky pool player, happens to have a tournament at Athena’s pub and meets her for the first time. Major sparks happen. As Tru falls in love with Athena the more they spend time together, can she get over her past and let all the walls that barricade her heart crumble to love Tru back? This story, for me, is a slow burn, but I loved it.

I truly loved this book, I really loved all the characters and just how real they all are!
I know, I know being a millionaire at 21 is not realistic but hear me out. The struggles Athena and Tru each have either individually or together was so very REAL! I loved how much complexity there was within these two characters. They both have been burned in their pasts, and it has had lasting effects like Athena’s hyper-independence. I won’t spoil anything but this led to very realistic issues and conversations and I just loved that. Sure it’s still a work of fiction but let me tell you this book was so refreshing because I could totally see these types of issues and conversations being had in real life. The spice was also amazing and the chemistry fantastic! Athena’s friends are amazing and again personalities were so distinct and you guessed it realistic! I absolutely loved getting to read about Athena and Tru, and honestly can’t wait to read more about the Green St. Girls!

Definitely a must read!

Bared by N.D. Jackson was a page turner. About a girl named Athena who has a past that haunts her, making her fear commitment. After the death of one of best friends she promises her she will live life. Which she does to the best of her ability, at the disapproval of her other two best friends.
Enter Tru, a pro-circuit pool player, who is taking part in a tournament at a bar Athena owns. With chemistry being there between the two of them, Athena & Tru, it threatens Athena’s very way of existing since she was 17. A romance that you will have you wanting more.
I felt for Athena, because I was an Athena myself. Burying the hurt and pain of my past. Does she let that go or does that hurt what she’s feeling for Tru? Please dig in you won’t be disappointed.
