Bared. (Green St. Girls #1)Bared. by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

N.D. Jackson writes a woman empowered, steamy romance with Bared. Athena, the main character, is a badass, wealthy, business owner that doesn’t believe she can be happy, until Tru. Athena’s past keeps her from moving forward until pushed to question that thinking when an unexpected man comes into her life. I just fell in love with all of the characters. The two main characters, Athena and Tru, had a sexy banter style relationship that made me have all the feels. As a woman, I truly appreciated the character of Athena. She was just sassy, brilliant, successful, funny, etc. It was refreshing to read, what seems so realistic, but empowering – showing the past shouldn’t define our present.

The first book in the Green Street Girls series, Bared by N.D. Jackson is an amazing one! You will not want to put it down. I started and finished in a few hours. Such an easy read with a great story. I can not wait for the next one to come out!! Great characters and wonderful friendships and a true and real sister story. The main characters of Athena, Indigo and Gwen, and their lost sister Charlie, is just what you’re asking for in true friends. Then you have Tru, the main man who will break down the walls that Athena has around her. So fantastic and such a great book. I can not wait for the next in the series.

I was super excited to read this book by N D Jackson, I have read book by her previously so I couldn’t wait to get going and as I completely expected I wasn’t disappointed at all. She certainly knows how to command the attention of her readers; the pace and flow was excellent and the characters were wonderful to read about. I think what really shone through for me in this story was the connection the girls had – they were all so relatable and I just really wanted to be part of their group! I absolutely adored Athena, she was such a great character and I cannot wait for the rest of the series! I really loved the author attention to detail and how well she got across the feelings of these authors – I could honestly feel what they were feeling at times! This is definitely a one click recommendation from me! A fantastic 5 star read!

The beginning of this story was heartbreaking, but because of it I was emotionally invested from the get go. I wanted to see how Athena would live. For herself, for Charlie. The Green St. Girls were such a pleasure to get to know, and I loved the dynamic they had. Chosen family, or sisters of the soul.

Athena was independent, sassy but struggling with such a huge loss. Then there was Tru. The banter with Tru was my favorite, their chemistry and how he broke through her barriers to get to the wonderful heart beneath. I loved this book, and I can’t wait for the next!

This was my first book with N.D. Jackson, and I can easily say this is one of the best romance books I have read in a while. Bared was an amazing read from start to finish! The easy feeling of the authors descriptions (especially of emotions and eyes) makes the reading fly by so fast. The book focuses on Athena from the Green St. Girls, who are her closest friends, and the love that she didn’t want but truly needed.

Athena is rich, strong, and independent. She is also not quick to use the word love for anyone except her girls. When Tru walks into the scene, that doesn’t change that fact. The quirky moments between the girls and between Athena and Tru, brings the characters to life! I very much look forward to reading more about the Green St. Girls!

Bared. (Green St. Girls #1)Bared. by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bared by N.D. Jackson hooked me in right at the beginning! We start immediately seeing Athena’s heart shattering as her best friend, Charlie, is on her death bed. My heart strings were pulled as I felt their emotions.
Athena promises to live her life to the fullest. She opens Shamrock Pool Hall and Pub and that is where she meets Tru, the man who she cannot seem to keep away from or keep out of her head. Their electrifying relationship is phenomenal and the author did a splendid job of showing our spicy Athena taking on the very handsome pool player, Tru.
Although both main characters are wealthy, they are very relatable, and I appreciated the book for that. I didn’t feel out of place and was able to picture the scenes perfectly. This book made me feel their desires, sorrows, fears and happiness. I recommend this book, especially if you want one that is hard to put down!

Bared opened with a promise and grew into a wonderfully written novel about a strong, independent woman and the man she falls in love with. Told from both Athena and Tru’s points of view, you learn more about what the other is thinking and get a better understanding of the character development. Who hasn’t been through the wringer when it comes to relationships? The characters are relatable and honest in a way I feel more people should be and the story flows like any steamy romance should. When you have characters as strong and lively as those in Bared, you’re bound to have some laughs and a whole rollercoaster of emotions that come with a well-written romance.

I was pulled right into this story right from the beginning. I was ugly crying at what the Green Street Girls were going through. The author does a great job with her writing, I felt like I was right there with them.

We get to know Athena, Gwyn and Indigo. After the loss of their 4th sister each of the girls are dealing with things. Athena is the one that has suffered the biggest loss and is reeling from it. Why does everyone keep leaving her?

Tru is a professional pool player, he was taught from a very young age how to play. While at a tournament he meets Athena. Can Tru convince her to see more of him or will she stick to one night?

Wow is all I can say about these women. I loved the direction this series is going with the women and I can’t wait to read more from this series. All of the characters added a great element to the story. Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster. If you’re looking for a great series with alpha females this is the one for you. 1-click and get started today.

Bared. (Green St. Girls #1)Bared. by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

N.D. Jackson created Bared with a focus on Athena from the Green Street Girls series.. A riveting opening with Athena promising her best friend Charlie that she would live a real-life, no matter how painful it could be. Athena successfully becomes an owner of several nightclubs throughout the world and is opening a new club in Chicago that will be hosting the World Pool-Billiards Association’s Inaugural Tour of Champions. As Athena is preparing for a press conference, Trumball “Tru” shows up early for the tournament. From the start, the two are drawn to one another and get along well in conversation. The only issue that came between them was the internal fear of trusting anyone that Athena had. Despite all of his efforts to get her to open up, Tru is left wondering why she didn’t trust him. Tru divulged all of his past and even allows Athena into his personal life with his mother but this does nothing to get her to open up. One evening, as they are approaching Athena’s home there is a man waiting. The encounter is one that changes every part of the relationship.

This is an excellently executed story that addresses’ loyalty, trust, and even racial issues are lightly touched on. Athena comes across as a tough as nails person, but her inner emotions are conflicted after losing Charlie. While she tried to prove to everyone that she continued on with life by having one night flings, skydiving, and parties in her clubs, she never really lets anyone in. Tru, while having been hurt in a past relationship, seemed to be more open and honest. If looking for a romance novel with a strong female lead, then Bared by N.D. Jackson will fit perfectly.

A promise to a best friend on her deathbed Athena swears to put her hurtful past behind her and to live a life that she deserves and that her friend won’t get to live. Athena feels she is doing just that while her other two best friends, Gwyn, and Indigo, beg to differ. She puts all her passion into building her empire, making sure her clubs run smoothly, quick one night stands, and building high, super thick, hard as steel walls around her heart. Trust Tru, young, youthful, and sexy as hell to bring all her steel walls down around her ears. A man in town for a billiards tournament threatens to tear through every defense, and distancing mechanism she holds dear. I enjoyed every steamy, grab you by the heartstrings moment of this book. It pulls you in and makes Tru and Athena so real you feel like they could jump right off the page as you feel every emotion with them. Bared is the perfect title for this as these two literally bared their souls to each other and promised to work through past hurts and I was here for every minute of it. I look forward to reading more of this series and the other girls and seeing where life takes this group.

Such a deliciously exciting romance. Characters that have intense chemistry but also have secrets from their past that must be dealt with. Strong feminine characters make for great novels because she maintains that strength as she also shows some of her vulnerability. She has a strong supportive group of friends that are their for her that make sure to stay in contact. This was such a wonderful novel because it had such a realistic taste of relationships and we got to watch them build and grow. Highly recommend.

Bared is the first book in the Green St. Girls series by N.D Jackson. I have loved reading N.D Jackson’s other books, so when I saw this, I snapped up a copy and dove right in to see what she had in store for us this time. It is a great read- a contemporary romance- with wonderful characters. The story had all the ingredients to keep me avidly reading- and before I knew it I had devoured the whole story- in one sitting.
As expected, N.D Jackson writes beautifully- her descriptive details brought the story to life- the characters especially are really well developed, complex, and quite endearing. I loved meeting Athena and the rest of the Green St. Girls- add Tru to the mix and the story really shines! Can’t wait for more. Bring on Book #2!
A great start to a new series!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, N.D Jackson!

Bared: A Green St Girls Romance by N.D. Jackson is, at its heart, a story about great friendships and how strong connections mean everything. I loved that, even though the story was about Athena and Tru, it was about all four women as well. It felt like you really connected with them and for me they made the whole story.
This is an author that I have become more familiar with recently and I love her writing style. Each book feels distinctly different from the last I read and I enjoy that about her work. This is a great overall book and I am looking forward to whatever comes next.

Despite her best efforts to keep her heart encased in a fortress, Athena finds herself giving up morsels of herself to Tru between steamy hookups and sharp-witted banter. The pair find themselves the center of attention among Athena’s friends, who are concerned she’s given up finding joy in life for the comforts of self-reliance, and Tru’s mom, who wants to see her son settle down and have kids already. For Athena’s part, she’s still grieving her best friend’s death and trying to overcome emotional baggage she’s used to just running away from. For Tru’s part, he’s been toyed with before, and after spending some time together, is looking for more than just a fun time.

The author does a great job setting the scene and providing character development. This book has a strong, independent woman who isn’t looking for a hero, which is my favorite type of protagonist; Athena is self-made and only needs to battle her own past to overcome the obstacles in her way. I found the plot to be refreshing in that it wasn’t overly dark despite heavier topics (like grief and abandonment), there were healthy relationships between the characters, and the emotional rollercoaster that goes along with dating someone new was super relatable.

Bared is the first book in the Green St. Girls series by N.D. Jackson and is a enjoyable contemporary romance story. ND’s writing has an easy flow to it and has done a good job in keeping the reader engaged and being able to get lost in the story. The characters are well developed and complex and well written, that I was hooked from the very beginning so much, so I didn’t want to put down. ND has the knack for drawing you in and being able to feel exactly what the characters were going through. How could I not fall in love with this book? The author had a talent I will say upfront on how to grasp the reader as well as make them feel EXACTLY what the characters are feeling. I felt so emotionally involved and I truly felt I was right there with the characters in the book.

This book was focused on a group of girls whom were friends, who needed one another as much as they strived to live. They called themselves The Green Street Girls. Instantly, I felt so connected to each of them, they all went at a time before anyone should have to endure, to survive on their own. They were one another’s hope and reason to stay strong as well as go on with every day. What they had been through, was really powerful in sense of how it made me feel. You felt those moments You felt those emotions. And you defiantly felt those hardships.

The girls Athena, Charlie, Gwyn & Indigo were all different but still very remarkable characters. Hardships had shaped their form to whom they are today. Especially Athena I would say. You can say she was in resemblance with a mule with terms when it came to her beliefs to love. She truly felt it was something not meant for her and it was just a load of crud basically. Truly my past self defiantly related to her.

This was everything she stood by with good reason, till Tru comes into her life. And everything she ever believed came into question. Plus she found someone that truly challenged her mind and her heart. It was indeed not all sugar canes and lollipops for when they first met and interacted. Athena knew though this was a different feeling, one even though how hard she tried she would not be able to let go or escape, no matter how hard she tried. They endure a lot together, Athena and Tru, I felt everything really. It was impossible not to feel their emptions or their pain or their stubbornness basically. I kept wanting more and I could not put this book down. It was good like eating a fresh chocolate strawberry. You could not stop at just one bite or in this case, one page turn.

I loved this book for everything it is. And I truly am already dying for the next books in the series. I really want to see what happens to the other girls and what life throws at them or tests them with. The novel was truly enjoyable and I loved being able to feel all the emotions this book brought on!

Highly recommend. Its really good and it certainly delivers an amazing story. It was my first read by this author, now I must go obtain all their other books 🙂

Again, truly had a great time reading this novel 🙂

Oh my goodness, what an emotional rollercoaster this book is! I cried, laughed, had a few heart to hearts with myself, and smiled-a lot. Oddly enough, it also had me looking up a recipe for duck lasagna.

I love a good heart wretcher and this book delivered. The story was woven so well that I was grieving and celebrating right there with the Green St. Girls and Tru. The storyline was fluid and enjoyable.

The characters- Athena is such a strong stubborn entrepreneur constantly struggling to prove and better herself-definitely relatable, and Tru is a genuine gem once he gets his head on straight. Oh gosh, lets not forget an honorable mention of Tru’s ma- I love sassy bold women!

Overall a multifaceted, relatable, and enjoyable story that I would recommend.

This is A Green St Girls Romance. I really enjoyed this book. The author does a great job of dealing with tragic events such as death and guilt in a considerate way. The story is deep and sad in parts but the romance is hot and steamy.

Athena has had a tough time. She has lost one of her friends to cancer and she was abandoned by her parents. Blamed for the death of her ex boyfriend. Athena just wants to live her life. She is guarded from everyone and never let’s anyone in. That is until she meets Tru.

Bared. (A Green St. Girls Romance) by N.D. Jackson

4 out of 5 stars

Our past does not dictate who we are or who we become. This is what Athena, Indigo, and Gwyn are trying to prove everyday by working hard and being successful. Athena has built a life of success but is she really living? Athena, Indigo and Gwyn lost their fourth sister, Charlie, a year ago. No one has been the same, but Athena is the worst. Athena had already lost so much, her family, her town, her safe place. Charlie’s death was just one more person leaving her.

Tru Blake is a professional pool player. He arrived at his latest tournament with a goal, take home the prize. Tru didn’t know the prize was going to be the bar’s owner, Athena. Tru is finding that getting Athena to be open to more than just a fling is more difficult than making it as a pro. Will he be the one that can get her to open up?

N.D. Jackson created a world of Alpha billionaire women in a genre dominated by alpha males. I can’t get enough of Athena, Gwyn and Indigo!!! The women are smart, funny, successful, powerful, and deliciously delightful! The sisterhood they have formed is amazing. I am hooked! I laughed, I yelled, I cried, I cheered! I can’t wait for more from these three!

There are discussions around suicide during the story that might not be suitable for all audiences.

Best Of My Love (Love in Emerald Creek) by N.D. Jackson – Review by Dani Dando

Best of my LoveBest of my Love by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dre has determined never to return to Emerald Creek and all its shitty memories, but circumstances conspire against her and she is forced to confront both her past and the only man that she ever let herself truly love, who broke her heart. Though she knows that she should keep her distance, everything about the place is still as magical as she remembered, and even though she knows better she can’t resist the pull to Erick that is still as strong as ever. Got to say that Dre is, in one word, a hedgehog. She comes across as so prickly and a little bit unlikeable at the beginning, then as the story goes on, we get to see her soft fluffiness that is desperate to find that love she once believed in. I think this actually made me like her more because I think I’d be a little bit of an arsehole if I had gotten my heart stomped on.
Erick is on the other side of this romantic little coin, drowning in the regret of hurting the one woman he truly loved. He knows that giving his marriage a shot was important and even though it broke down, he still got Orchid, his daughter, who by the way is just awesome. I have sometimes found kids cringey in these kinds of stories, but Orchid was not cringey. Erick can’t help but see Dre turning up at Emerald creeks as a second chance and he is determined to prove himself and show her that if she opens her heart to him this time, he won’t hurt her.
Was a lovely romantic read that warmed my heart, and I thoroughly recommend this to anyone that wants to lose themselves in a bit of light, fluffiness for a while. Jackson has written something truly wonderful here, that should be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

Okay this book… please give it a chance and read it before totally reading the reviews. I was a tad heartbroken when I came to review and saw all the hate for this novel because it contains cheating. Ladies it happens. I for one appreciated the raw and real truth that this book gave readers. Sadly I know several friends, and even myself, who have faced situations like these and the option to give a second chance. Maybe I am a hopeless romantic and believe that people can change in ten years, or that love ultimately will and does prevail. This is extremely prevalent in this novel but it is real. So yes this carries the story of a cheater getting a second chance because the woman chooses to do so. It tore me up in a lot of ways as I read it and felt myself relating in some ways. It kept me hanging on and engaged so much I read this is just an evening and it has sat with me ever since. I would give it a go and make sure you have tissues ready and a comfort item.

I really enjoyed this book! It was funny, unpredictable and the writing just flowed! Although Dre was a very different character to what I was expecting, once I learnt more about her background I could understand why she was the way she was! It was great to read about a independent, modern woman who wasn’t afraid to be a spitfire! A tale of love, betrayal and little town charm to keep the pages turning. The heroine Dre with just enough sass and badass to to keep you guessing. Be warned This book has some spice for you young adult readers but not so much you’ll be embarrassed to recommend it to your mother. It is a romance that you can’t help but root for. I don’t normally read Romance but I got to say this story just leapt off the page and I was invested in the lives of Dre and Erick before I knew it.

Best Of My Love: (Love in Emerald Creek) by N.D. Jackson. You ever start a book and just think to yourself “yep this ones gonna be good”? I definitely had that moment when I started this one. The characters pulled me in without any trouble and I was ready for their journey. The main character Dre may be one of my favorite characters the author definitely hit the nail on the head with her story. The storyline is engaging and well written with characters I found myself falling for easily. My one sad note to add was when it ended , I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye. Five big stars and highly recommended.

Oh the sarcastic remarks and romance in this book made for a great read! Dre has so much fire in her! Its great to read a story about someone knowing what they need and want even if its hard to admit. Going on the journey with Dre to see if forgiveness is even possible made me read late into the night. Will her and Erick be able to find peace after all they’ve been through? This is definitely a great read!
