My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this super short read (it might have taken me 15 minutes), we meet Xenobia and Urd. Xenobia is blue skinned with dark hair and Urd is whiter than white with light colored hair. They are treated like cattle in the Slavemaster’s house. They are not respected as women at all. When Urd is mistreated, Xenobia steps in to save her but at what cost?

This is an interesting and very short read. I’m not sure I’ll venture into the whole series but I am a bit intrigued. I have a lot of unanswered questions but overall, thought this was an enjoyable read.

I always enjoy getting to read this author. She does a great job of creating a well written story that has defined characters and a storyline that keeps you reading until the last page. This is a shorter story, but the author does a great job of packing in the emotions, the twists and suspense. We get to see Xenobia’s start, which gives a more of her backstory and her relationship with Urd. You absolutely feel an intense bond for the characters and want to see them succeed. It definitely made me want to re-read the next book in the series and I cant wait to see how things will turn out in the series.

I am totally in!!! House Valdis Origins: Xenobia is the beginning…short story..and introduces Xenobia and the society she is living in. I loved this story as it gives me want and need to continue this series and I am super excited to start the next book in the series. The creativity and storytelling that this author brings to the table still amazes me as I enjoy every book I have read from her.

Xenobia, a beautiful blue wonder, stays to herself, trying not to bring any spotlight to her, which would keep her safe. When Xenobia has a new roommate in Urd, she never wanted to develop any friendships, but something in Urd bring Xenobia’s walls down and they become close friends. When some very bad men have their eyes on Urd…Xenobia tries to protect her at all costs. Going from protecting Urd to something greater, Xenobia learns there is more to her then we know….

Looking forward to the next book in the series, I have to learn more about Xenobia and what will happen next!! Fantastic story!!

I really enjoy reading Valkyrie’s stories and this one was no different. This is a very quick read…I’m talking like 15-20 minutes and I really like the premise of the storyline. I’m definitely hooked and can’t wait to see what Valkyrie has in store for her readers with Xenobia’s story and the House Valdis series. Valkyrie’s ability to get her readers to care so deeply about her characters so quickly is amazing and I loved how she moved the plot line along without really any holes or gapping discrepancies. I’m really excited to start reading the House Valdis series. This short story is a prequel to the House Valdis series.

This was an interesting read. It’s a short story. I found it to be a good look into the beginning of Xenobia and Urd’s friendship. This is my first venture into this series and I’m looking forward to starting it. Xen sppears to be strong in this society where women aren’t valued. I found myself totally rooting for them. It’s definitely a book I recommend.

Valkyrie always weaves such an interesting and unexpected story that defies what manner would assume to be the normal path of a beloved trope and genre. This short story was engaging and quick paced. The characters were quirky and relatable. If you are looking for a new book, pick this one up. Valkyrie is very gifted at engaging her readers and putting them in the middle of a very unexpected tale they will enjoy.

The Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie. This is a great sci fi, m/m romance. I love this author and try to read everything they write so I wasn’t surprised I enjoyed it. The Alien & the Crime BossThe Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Alien & the Crime Boss is a short sci-fi romance featuring, as the title suggests, an alien and a crime boss. Leilphun has fled his home world to Earth, a planet he knows only through stories. He is immediately taken prisoner by Kasper, who is untrusting due to the multiple crime families who want him dead.

I like how Leilphun and Kasper warm to each other over the course of the story and learn to trust. It’s also fun to see Leilphun experiencing Earth for the first time and learning how to fit in. While the shorter format makes this a great book to read in one sitting, I’d have enjoyed more time both for the development of Leilphun and Kasper’s relationship and to see Leilphun exploring human life.

I’ve enjoyed many books by this author before and this will appeal to fans. I like the originality of her characters and the scenarios they find themselves in. It’s also always great to come across LGBTQ+ characters in genre fiction!

This book gets four stars from me. If you’re at all intrigued by the title, give it a read! It’s such a short read you’ll be able to satisfy your curiosity as well as getting a taste for the author’s style.

The Alien & the Crime BossThe Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kasper Kingston is a man on a mission and his mission is to destabilise the two main crime families and take over in their place, it is dangerous, but he has a determination to attain his goal and so he goes to a cabin in the woods so that he can watch and wait for his enemy’s destruction. Leilphun is an alien, but he will no longer be able to live on his own planet anymore, this is due to the rulers of his home planet wanting instead to punish him for his crime by throwing him into the fighting arena’s, but he has no intention of that happening and so he says goodbye to everything that he knows, undertakes an exhausting and jumps through a portal for a one way trip to Earth.

One morning Kasper sees a bright light flash outside the window and decides to go and investigate just in case it is one of the families, however when he gets there, he only finds an unconscious person with purple skin and he decides that he cannot just leave them out there in the woods and so he takes the mystery person home, ties them up and waits for them to wake up so that he can interrogate them. When Leilphun awakes after his journey to Earth, he realises that he is in a dwelling and is being restrained to a chair, the most alluring thing is the man who is sitting in front of him, however, he is less than impressed with his being questioned the minute he wakes up, but especially when his answers are not believed.

That even Kasper makes the decision to allow Leilphun to sleep next to him so that he can tell whether he tries to escape, but this is when he is attacked by the families and Leilphun surprisingly helps him to escape, later revealing that it is because they are now betrothed according to Leilphun’s people’s customs, it also confirms his story that he really isn’t from this planet and that he really didn’t need the weapons he brought with him. Will Kasper be able to maintain the distance he needs so as not to become too distracted by the handsome alien, or will Leilphun become more than just a weapon to help destroy the families while keeping himself safe? This is a novella with heart, as well as danger, retaliation and redemption which will catch you in its net and not let you go until the end.

This is not my first time reading a book by Naomi Valkyrie, it’s always a pleasure picking up one of her books. This book is a M/M alien mafia romance tale following Kasper and Leilphun. Filled with danger, action, adventure and tension both regular and spicy lol . Also makes an appearance in the anthology Aliens on Earth which is a limited-edition 12 book romance collection ( which you should also pick up so many goood books including this one 🥰). She has created a great world and such well developed characters. I look forward to seeing more work from this author. 🥰

Naomi Valkyries new book The Alien & The Crime Boss is about an alien mafia romance tale.
I have read quite a few of Naomi’s books and there has not been one that I have not found entertaining! I like the way she makes the characters have huge personalities and I enjoy reading about their different backgrounds. In this book, we are introduced to Leilphun and we find out that he is alone and, on the run, and that it may be safer for him to stay on a brand-new world that to try to stay on his. Although Earth doesn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for him, he finds that this is an intriguing planet and is not at all what he had in mind. Leilphun finds himself in a battle of trying to see if he stays in fight or flight mode or does he find happiness on this newfound planet he has landed on. The only way to find out what happens is to pick up a copy of Naomi’s newest book and read it for yourself…I don’t think you will be one bit disappointed!

The Alien & the Crime BossThe Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Alien and the Crime Boss is a sci fi MM romance with action, danger, intrigue, suspense, and aliens. The story centers around the characters of Kasper and Leilphun. Kasper is an aspiring crime boss who is planning on a takeover by weakening the two major crime families. Leilphun is an alien who has transformed himself into human form and fled to Earth. When he wakes up and finds himself held captive by Kasper, he senses that Kasper will not harm him. As enemies approach and put Kasper’s life in danger Leilphun risks his own life to save him. The chemistry and attraction between the two is undeniable but Leilphun is uncertain if Kasper is only using him to rise to the top of the crime world or if he really cares for him. A great read by this talented author who never fails to deliver a well-crafted story with vivid scene descriptions and wonderful characters.

This was a very quick little novella. We have Kasper, who is the crime boss of this novella. He believes that he is righting the wrongs of the past. On his run away from the massive move he has just made he is met with Leilphun. Who claims to be an alien from another planet. As if his purple skin wasn’t enough of a giveaway to that. He fled his planet as to not fight in the arena that many of his kin have died in. And together they have the power to fix the wrongs that Kasper is trying to move along. This was a super quick read. I got a little confused at the pacing but was able to put myself back on track pretty quickly. It was cute MM Romance as well.

Leilphun and Kasper are both dealing with their own problems. One is on the run while the other is trying to lay low and hopes that things will go his way. When their paths cross the excitement begins. Can they trust each other and the emotions that are beginning to take shape?
I enjoyed meeting Leilphun and Kasper. The two work well together. Each of the characters is strong and it was nice to see their relationship take shape. The sci-fi element gives this story an interesting twist. It was nice to see the two work to fight for what they feel. Their story is a fast paced and quick read that grabbed my attention right from the start.

He escaped his world but now is in a place he never thought he’d be in. Kasper isn’t looking for any kind of distractions as he’s got a plan and hopes to stick to it. But fate has other plans it seems for these two. I loved everything about this book I only wish it was a bit longer. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. An enjoyable and engaging MM Sci-fi mafia romance which kept me hooked throughout. When Kasper Kingston comes across a man claiming to be from another planet, he thinks it’s a cover story. Kasper is hiding out having set in motion a plan to weaken two major crime families. He believes Leilphun has been sent to kill him and so keeps him prisoner. When he saves his life Kasper starts to think that maybe he is an alien. Meanwhile, Leilphun has left his home planet having runaway from the authorities to avoid having to fight in the fighting arena, as a punishment. To save the human, Leilphun has to call upon his warrior spirit which he has sworn never to do in case he loses himself to his primal nature. To confuse things further Leilphun believes Kasper has initiated the betrothal ritual and Kasper is getting distracted by his otherworldly hero. I loved the two main characters and their chemistry sizzled off the page. As usual the author brought both the characters and setting vividly to life making me feel immersed in the story.

This book is really, really good. I am not a sci-fi can at all but this has romance which is my go to genre, so I figured I would give it a go. This is also an author that I have read before and loved their writing style. Lets start by saying this is a more of a sci-fi book with MM romance than a romance with sci-fi. The way the author writes and describes the scenes is amazing. It helped me really be able to visualize what was happening and I got lost in. this unique world that was created. I will be the first to admit that I was really thinking I wasn’t going to like this book because of the sci-fi elements. That was not the cause, I feel the sci-fi really took the story in a creative direction that I would have never thought of and really made the story come to life. The imagery that you are able to create based upon the writing allows for this book to be a quick read. I found myself flying through the pages and when the books ends, it feels like it was supposed to end the way that it did. I didn’t feel like it was lacking anything and it felt whole. There are areas that this could continue if the author wants to but it also is summed up nicely to where you as a reader feel content with how things worked out. This was a great escape. that I didn’t see coming but thoroughly enjoyed.

The Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie is a really well-woven sci-fi MM mafia romance – with aliens, action, adventure, danger, high stakes, suspense, agendas, fated mates, emotion, tension, and much more.
Leilphun escapes his home world and arrives on earth and into a situation he never anticipated. Kasper Kingston has a plan and can’t afford any distractions or mistakes- but fate has its own agenda.
I loved this story so much. Loved the characters, the world-building, and other clever touches, and although this is a short story, it has the impact of a much longer novel. Definitely one of my favourites of this collection. Can always count on Ms. Valkyrie for an original and captivating read.

I love every book that I have read by this author and this one is no exception! The storytelling and creativity that is brought to life…..I loved every page of Kasper and Leilphun’s story in The Alien & the Crime Boss.

Kasper is out to take over as a crime boss, planning out every detail with intricate thought. Taking retreat at his cabin, Kasper never expects to find Leilphun by chance. At first, Kasper was cautious unknowing where this man came from and why he is so different. As Kasper gets to know Leilphun the more Kasper feels safe knowing that Leilphun has his back….and maybe more..but will he be able to still take over as crime boss as well..

Leilphun is on the run from another planet….ends up on Earth. Unknowing where he was… Leilphun meets Kasper by chance. As Leilphun wants to get to know Kasper on a deeper level… will he also be able to help and protect Kasper when danger comes knocking….

I loved this book and I do not want to give any spoilers away. This is a fun, enjoyable MM mafia / alien story and I always look forward to what this author has in store next to read!

Kasper is a crime boss set on taking down and then merging the two crime families as one with him as leader. He goes to stay at a cabin for a bit to hide out until things cool down. When a strange man who is purple with chartreuse eyes shows up, Kasper has no idea if he was sent by the families or if he is the alien he claims to be. Aliens aren’t real are they? Clearly this man was sent to be a distraction. Kasper ties him up and decides to keep a close eye on him until he can decide if he is sent to kill him or not.

Leilphun was about to be sent into the arena’s as punishment on his home planet and decides to escape to Earth only to find himself bound by an attractive human named Kasper. Somehow Kasper accidentally betrothed himself to Leilphun and Leilphun decides that he will protect this human. When Kasper’s enemies come to eliminate him, Leilphun is quick to defend Kasper.

Kasper decides that Leilphun is not a threat and decides to go with the flow when it comes to the betrothal. He can’t have any distractions when it comes to his ultimate goal. Too bad he all of a sudden has an alien fiance.

I have said this before and I will say it again. I love Naomi Valkyrie! Their writing is so unique that I love everything they have written. The author always provides a unique plot with unheard of character romance that you can’t help but fall in love with everything written. The book is a very quick read but is packed full of action. I thought this was an original concept and I was invested beginning to end. I enjoyed the story running in the background as well, not just the romance blossoming between Leilphun and Kasper, it added more depth and complexity to the story and was another point of interest. It’s now one of my favourites this genre.
I enjoyed experiencing Leilphun and Kasper coming together, learning each other’s mannerisms and coming into their own. I especially loved Leilphun’s character development, it was great to see him really come into his own as a warrior in his desire to defend and protect Kasper.
