Necrosis Audiobook by C.L. Schneider – Review by Charlisa Wahtomy-Alba

I don’t know how a lot of people like to start their day, but I decided that the start of my 8 hour shift at 6am was a good time to start this book. As I was standing at my cart getting medicine ready for a resident I thought that this book would get off to a bit of a slow start, but NO! It started out with something that I never expected. I had to stop what I was doing and just listen to the first few paragraphs thinking oh my gosh, she really did that? It was a good listen and I will most likely actually read the book at some point. I know all of us mothers out there would do anything to protect our children and the main character in this story was no exception. I highly recommend you read the book or at the very least give it a listen.

Necrosis Audiobook by C.L. Schneider – Review by Nina Maes

This was a great listen. I am not very big fan of zombies or apocalypse. I have to say this was a gripping experiences I loved the fast paced story. This one will grab you and keep you to the very end. I seen this story not so much as zombies, but of a mother’s true love for her child. The lengths a mother will go through to protect what is part of her. This is a story of love, determination and strength beyond anything else. I highly recommend this book.

Necrosis Audiobook by C.L. Schneider – Review by Laura Jones

Necrosis takes place in a world where a virus has taken over, leaving those who are infected as strong zombie creatures who wreak havoc on the living. Amy is determined to keep her daughter Lilah safe through the aftermath, which proves to be a difficult feat. During a very close call, the mother and daughter find a group of survivors who rescue them from a hoarde of zombies who almost overcome the pair. They are able to find a little bit of beauty amongst the devastation of this new world when they’re brought into the shelter of this new group, and Amy is pleasantly surprised to reunite with an old childhood friend. This short story shows the lengths a mother will go to in order to protect her child. It was very well written and the performance kept my attention throughout. I look forward to more from this author!

Necrosis Audiobook by C.L. Schneider – Review by Callie Luna

Necrosis is the short story about a mother and daughter trying to stay alive during a zombie apocalypse. It is a fast-paced story that keeps the tension on survival. It shows how much any mother would do to help their children survive. The descriptions are perfect and help to build the world all the way to the last scene. C. L. Schneider is a master at creating intense combat and making you root for the characters.

The narrator Jess Jacob does a great job bringing the tension of the story to life. I can hear the anguish, despair, and desperation in her voice. I highly recommend Necrosis as the audio book due to how much the story came to life with these fantastic elements.

Necrosis Audiobook by C.L. Schneider – Review by Deb Robinson

A mother’s love is like no other on earth no matter the species.  In desperate times this love will conquer what is needed to survive.

As children we look up to our mother’s or guidance and perhaps sacrifice.

This is a story of that ultimate sacrifice from Amy to her daughter Lyla.  In a world of the unknown with deadly viruses at play, they struggle to survive second by second.

This is a book about zombies but with a very heartfelt story of a mother’s love in the face of deadly choices.  The narrator was excellent and kept you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole book.  Her intonation brought the struggle and heartbreak alive.  Excellent story and narration.

5 out of 5 stars

This is not your usual zombie apocalypse book. It’s also a story of redemption and mother/daughter love. There is no stronger love than sacrificing yourself to rescue your daughter from a buried subway and possible zombies. I found the story so intriguing that I had to keep listening. The action, drama and romance is wonderful in this story. Such a well-written story, this the best zombie story I have read in a long time. The characters are well-developed and well-thought out. The ending throws me for a loop but soo, soo very good. You have to read this book. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Necrosis Audiobook by C.L. Schneider – Review by Cindy Mayberry

A mother will do all she can to protect her children. In this story the mother is my hero. It did not matter how scary things got, this mother did all she could to protect her daughter. This story is intense and fast paced. The author  has a great imagination, one that will convince you to follow her. I don’t normally read stories about zombies, but this story caught my interest. I am glad I did. The story is non-stop action. The ending is one you won’t want to miss out on. Besides, the author has written many books and has never let me down.

This was powerfully and beautifully written. The details and descriptions were incredibly vivid and made me a little squeamish at times. The emotions felt in each sentence were strong. The narrator did a wonderful job with her vocal inflections and telling the story.

Necrosis Audiobook by C.L. Schneider – Review by Bobbi Wagner

This is not my first audio book by this author but it is one of my favorites. I enjoyed listening to this book. I enjoyed the narrator and their tone of voice. I enjoyed how they changed tones for characters which made them engaging. The characters are unique and creative. This is a shorter story that certainly packs a punch with adventure and had me coming back for more. This is an easy and entertaining story to listen to. I enjoyed this audiobook and I highly recommend it.

This was a fantastic audiobook. This story gave me apocalypse survival, love, fight and sacrifice.

Amy and her daughter are trying to survive and fight back the deadly virus that has infected, loved ones and most of human mankind. With the infected closing in with Amy protect  her daughter at all costs?
This is a fantastic story, and I highly recommend listening to this book. It’s not all about zombies. It is a story of survival of the fittest and the love you to protect the ones you care about the most.

The story was pretty good. I read it in one sitting. The zombies in this story are exactly how I picture them in my head. Although the story was short, it was complete. It tugged at my heart strings and I could relate to the main character. At the end of the day all that matters is protecting and taking care of my family. How far would you go and what would you do to take care of you kid?

This was an excellent horror read! My only wish was that it was longer! I’ve read this author before and enjoyed their books but I loved their writing style with this genre. I really like the plot of the story and that not everything goes as you would expect. You could really visualize what Amy and Lila were seeing and experiencing. I didn’t expect the ending that came but it definitely was how it needed to end to make the story that much better. I really hope this author writes more horror style books! I will be reading more of their books regardless because I love the writing style!

Necrosis is a book that drew me in just from the cover art. I don’t normally read this kind of book, or watch zombie movies or shows. However, the book was brilliant. The author is amazing with graphic writing. The way she described the decaying bodies had me cringing. The book was short but was not lacking at all. The characters are wonderfully written and the imagery is off the charts. There was moment of suspense and a twisted happy ending, for some anyway. The love of a mother knows no boundaries, and I loved it. I did not see that coming! Highly recommend, and look forward to more.

All was well in the Amy’s world, albeit life wasn’t easy, she had her daughter and that was what mattered, the fleeting relationships with men, drugs, sadness and a slow spiral into the darkness were just that, fleeting, she still had her mothers love and support, until one day it all changed and the virus took hold. At first it was contained and there were only a few infected to start with, but as soon as it took hold, people started changing, they called it Necrosis and suddenly it was everywhere and it terrified Amy.

She knew it was a bad idea to try and get to her mother as soon as she entered the city, but she had pushed and now she was looking at her necrotic mother and freezing, just like every other time she was faced with violence, but this time, she had something to defend, this time, she had to protect her daughter and that was all that mattered. So muttering an apology, she put her mother out of her misery and escaped her childhood home before more of the infected could get to them, now they just needed to get back to the truck and get the hell out of there, but nothing is as easy as first thought.

They managed to get back to the truck, but there was also a need for supplies, so while it was quiet and infected free, Amy decides to see if there is anything to scavenge, but unfortunately, she is betrayed and this leads to confrontation and risk, especially when the infected breach the shop next to the truck and her daughter is in danger again. This time Amy is prepared to do anything to get to her and devises a plan to distract the infected so that she can get to the truck, but can she get there before the other parade of the infected get to her? Can Amy keep them both alive and escape the city before it is too late? This is a dystopian apocalyptic tale which plumbs the depths of a mothers love in ensuring the survival of her child in a world filled with danger around every corner, it pulls you in and keeps you on edge throughout, as you follow along this story which is perfect for the horror lovers out there.

Emotional roller coaster
Lost for words. This book is an amazing quick read. Raw, real and riveting this book will have you going through all the emotions. Amy is a formidable character, aware of her flaws but strong regardless. The setting is an apocalyptic zombie world and had me on the edge of my seat. This is a short story but packs so much between the pages. The sacrifices were plentiful. A must read!

Necrosis is a fast read that starts interesting and never slacks off. Amy, the main character, is easy to identify with and relate to. Going through a zombie apocalypse with her 9 year old daughter, Lila, brings out several life changing decisions. Sometimes she has to make choices that may cost her direly, or hurt someone else to save themselves. This seemed like a very realistic (given the circumstances) approach, and the choices were always real-life like scenarios. Friendships and her old life falls away, and basic survival instincts kick in. This is the 1st book I have read from this author, and I loved the writing style, world building, and character arcs. I absolutely recommend this to everyone, it was not too much horror or gore, and was very easy to follow!

This is a quick read, but it doesn’t disappoint. It starts off with action and keeps up a steady pace throughout the story. Intense, but then again, it wouldn’t be a good zombie-type story if it wasn’t. The main character, Amy, was easy to connect with right away. I can’t say too much more without spoiling it. If you like quick, intense reads, this is a great late-night story – unless you spook easily, then maybe read it during the day, lol.

To put in the simplest terms, Action Packed, Page Turner. Schneider doesn’t skip a beat, you jump right into the action, no room for leading story lines, your are transformed into an apocalyptic world first sentence. This was a very fast paced read, truly a page turner, certainly one that could be read in one sitting. And despite all the action happening, Schneider still manages to build on character growth. This is certainly a 5 out of 5 and honestly that says a lot since Zombie Apocalypse is not something I typically enjoy reading.

Necrosis by C.L. Schneider

Another fantastic read by the author. Schneider knows how to keep readers entertained. Necrosis was a great read. If you like horror then you’ll love this book.

Amy is a single mother and everyone is being infected. This disease turns you into pretty much a zombie. Her daughter had to watch her grandmother kill someone. Can Amy get her daughter to safety before it’s too late? The quote I chose for Amy is: “I suppose. But not all kids are my kid. You’ve learned how to take care of yourself in ways I never had to at your age. You know how to make a fire and a shelter. How to bandage a wound and find food. You know when to run and when to hide. And you learned how to listen. Sometimes. Most importantly, you’ve learned how to think on your feet. It’s an instinct that will help you survive. You know that’s what’s most important to me, right? Your survival. No matter what it takes.”

Highly recommended for Horror lovers.

Necrosis is a fast-paced thriller about a mother and daughter, Amy and Lila, who are trying to survive this new world riddled with a deadly virus that is turning people into flesh-eating undead. Amy is trying to do everything she can to keep her daughter safe from harm. Just as they think they may have found the closest thing to real safety; the rug is pulled out from under them, and hard decisions have to be made. How far is Amy going to have to go to keep Lila safe?

I could not put this one down once I started reading. Though not a long story, the author did not skimp on action and detail. It definitely brought forth many emotions as I imagined myself in Amy’s position- being a mother of a child who is the center of your universe and you just aren’t sure you can fully protect them from the world outside, but you’ll do whatever it takes to give them their best chance. Definitely recommend! Phenomenal author. I will be keeping an eye out for C.L. Schneider in the future.

Necrosis by C.L. Schneider – Review by Savanah Schwarz

“Raspy sounds of hunger pushed from her rotted throat, washing over me with the smell of old blood and things long dead.” This is the sentence that greets you when you open this tale of the dead. It eeks and reeks and creeks of sounds of the dead. C.L. Schneider describes in such intricate detail the vast difference between the living and the dead. She pulls you in with the dead sounding so close to humanity that when we hear from the characters, we know the feeling of seeing what was once human be so appalling and yet show slight shadows of the dead’s former self. I am a huge fan of apocalyptic books and stories and this does not disappoint. This fantastic story starts with Amy, the mother of Lily, her nine-year-old, standing in her mom’s house, after months of fighting for her life and with her boyfriend, she hoped, against what she already knew, that her mother was alive. As you follow her along in this journey of trying to fight and survive the dead, you become attached to her and her daughter and you will right along with her. Surviving, along with her, you become immersed in it and almost willing them to survive. This is one of the best stories in this genre. I give it a 5-star. definitely recommend. Though I warn you, because of how descriptive and alive these characters and things become in the story it can be a little unsettling. Definitely looking forward to C.L Schnieders’s books in the future.

Necrosis is a thrilling journey of a Mother’s love for her daughter clawing through the unexpected twists and turns of the apocalypse. The main character was so relatable. Life was not good to her since she was a kid, and now she has her own child to protect through worse experiences than the drugs and abuse she had to endure growing up. The world is literally rotting away around them and danger lurks around every corner. I loved all of the gory details that this author dishes out. A quick read of beautiful writing!
