Ugh!! I wanted more!! This prequel is awesome. It is a very short quick read but it will definitely keep you wanting more. Usually, I don’t care for cliff hangers, but there were so much little details that I felt like it was ok. There is so much that I want to say…. but I fear that I’m going to ruin it if I say too much! The initial plot for the book sets up a very exciting mood for the rest of the series! The main characters developments throughout the book is something that I always look forward to, and I can say that the characters in this prequel are presented as wonderful characters with quite a bit of potential for the upcoming books in the series! Surprisingly, there were quite a few twists and turns that were incorporated into such a short read. There are so many emotions and elements that were put into this book, there’s romance; heartbreak, love, angst, and so much more that you don’t see coming, and will leave you craving more. If you have a couple of hours of free time, I suggest picking up this book and getting lost in it! I can say that you will not be disappointed or regret picking up this book! Happy Reading!!

Savage Start (Hidden Valley Elite Prequel) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Vanessa Estrada

Vanessa Estrada rated a book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ it was amazing

I cannot wait to read the rest of this series! This is a prequel, so it is veryyyyy short, so it’s hard to avoid spoiling anything. All I’ll say is that these characters have been through stuff and I am totally rooting for them!! It is a bully romance so there is a LOT of angst and I LOVED that. Definitely recommend if you like dark romance and complex characters.

Hot For Me (The Balefire Series Book 4) by Tam DeRudder Jackson. I love this series and this book has become one of my favorites. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the series. This is the story of Adam who is a bass player for a rock band and he is a hot rock star but he’s never really wanted to settle down until he meets Cristy. Cristy is a rock star on her own and loves to party like a rock star. When she is invited to go on tour with Adam’s band they have instant chemistry. Adam has never wanted to have a relationship with anyone until he meets Cristy but something about her intrigues him. He also feels like she is hiding something but with their chemistry he’s willing to take a chance. This is a fun, hot read that will keep you flipping pages late in the night.

Lucky Stars by Fantasia Yu. This is such a fun, adventurous romance. Its the story of Mora who is tired of all her Royal duties. Tired of being held to all these rules she decides to go on an adventure with rebel pilot Darin. Not realizing the mess she was going to get in when they are chased by bounty hunters. While on the adventure with Darin Mora begins to get feelings for him but she hasn’t told him who she really is. Mora is supposed to be married to someone else due to her royalty status. She’s scared to death that if Darin finds out who she is he won’t like her anymore or accept that she is a Princess. Darin doesn’t want to be bound to any rules so if he knew who Mora was he probably wouldn’t have anything to do with her. Will they try to break all the rules or will they go back to conforming to the ways of their worlds?

Hot For Me (The Balefire Series Book 4)Hot For Me by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hot For Me is book #4 in the Balefire Series.
It can be read as a stand alone.
Hot For Me was the 1st book from this author I’ve read and it’s the 1st of this series I’ve read.
It’s a long story but sooooo worth the read. I couldn’t put it down. Okay so I was forced to put it down a few times due to work and life but I definitely didn’t want to.
The author gave the story great characters and a great storyline. Things got very hot & steamy quite a few times.
There were a few times at the end I thought the book was ending then I turned the page and there was more. Definitely not a bad thing. It just surprised me a little. It sounded like the story was complete…. then….SURPRISE…a few more pages.
Overall very enjoyable, entertaining, book. I must get my hands on the 1st three and I can’t wait for #5 to come out.

Savage Start is the prequel to this authors Hidden Valley Elite Series. This is a short story that can be read in an hour. The only thing I can say is I want more and I want it now. With that being said im super excited to read the full story of theses characters. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely a fan. Riley and Cole come from completely different backgrounds but they both have secrets and are both used to adjusting to new environments. I don’t want to give to much away. This is such a short story with an ending that will leave you craving more. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more about these characters and more.

I am not normally a fan of novellas (this includes prequels and extended epilogues). They are usually lacking in the information and details I require to really enjoy a storyline. That however is not the case with this one. The author is on point with details, character development and backstory. I have to say this particular start to a series has drawn me in. I will definitely be reading the series.

Hot For Me (The Balefire Series Book 4) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Britney Wall

Christy Valor is a sexy pop star with a hidden past. Adam Tron is the bassist for one of the biggest rock bands, Balefire. Christy joins the band on tour, and things really heat up with her and Adam. I really enjoyed their chemistry and the story line. It made me wish I could actually watch them perform. I picked this book without realizing that it was fourth in a series, but I didn’t feel lost at all. I will definitely be going back to read the others! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a great prequel. A good short story to get you introduced to the characters. These kids have been through a lot and they keep on going. It shows how sometimes people go through a lot that you just don’t see. This book keeps your interest and keeps you reading. It was too short, but isn’t that always the case with books you enjoy? They are never long enough even if they are 800 pages. I can’t wait to read more in the series.

Lucky Stars is a New Adult Sci-Fi Romance that I had a hard time putting down and ended up reading in one sitting. This is a new author to me and I’m definitely going to be looking into what other books they have written. This authors style of writing and attention to detail along with fully developed characters make for a epic story. Get ready to be taken on quite the adventure with a princess on the run,a rebel pilot and secret that could be dangerous. I highly recommend reading this book to find out if their love can survive the chase? I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Rockstar Romances… gotta love them! And this one was a good one. Adam and Cristy are our main characters and I liked them a lot. They found love even when they were exactly looking for it and they had to work for it because it didn’t come easily. The past was knocking on their door and tried to throw everything out the window but they persevered and I really liked that about them. This is the 4th book in the series and each book in the standalone in the series that focuses on a different member of the band. I will have to go back and read the other three books in this series because I liked this authors writing style and I enjoyed this book.
I would recommend this to anyone that like rockstar romances!
Happy Reading!

Hot For Me is the fourth book in The Balefire Series and the he second book I’ve read by this author. I’m definitely going to check out the other books in this series. This can be read as a standalone as each book is about a different member of the band.I truly enjoyed reading this Contemporary Rockstar Romance and had a hard time putting it down until finished. This is a story about Adam and Cristy she’s a diva who has just joined Balefire on tour and he’s the bassist. The chemistry between them absolutely sizzles its so hot. But what will happen if secrets are revealed? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

With only 55 pages, this prequel pulled me in, and I’ve already gathered the next books to be on my list! Riley has always been on the go with her mom, but her mom swears this might be their last time. Cole is having trouble with his parents and his relationship with his brother. Riley and Cole meet at a party and end up kissing intensified. So much drama, relationships, and more drama happens in so little pages, that you have to go straight to the next book! Thank you for making this series!

An arranged marriage to Prince Fidge has Princess Mora desperate for freedom, especially when she discovers Prince Fidge does not care for an alliance.
Darin is a an outcast rebel with a crush on Mrs Langley (aka Princess Mora).
Together they want to free the moon people and live a free life themselves. Will Darin feel the same way when he discovers the truth about Mrs Langley?

This was a good read, just needed to be longer! The story, world and characters were well crafted. I really enjoyed Darin and Mrs Langley/Princess Mora’s relationship.
An easy read that kept me turning pages.

Overbearing royal families and royal duties become too much for Princess Mora who decides to take advantage of the possibility of adventure with Darin, a rebel pilot, shirking her betrothed responsibilities. Darin, however, is unaware of Mora’s royal title and obligations as First Princess to unite her home planet with the moon planet, Xot.
Kudos to Fantasia Yu for developing many other moons, planets, worlds and galaxies that wrestle with politics, love and opposing planetary views.

Princess Mora was sent to for an arranged marriage to a Prince. That was not what she wanted though. She’s always wanted to go out on her own and learn the world. She meets a boy, Darin, and soon escapes secretly with him while the kingdom looks for her. He knows her as a different alias, but soon later finds out. There is much adventure, drama, relationship, and friendship in this book. I loved it all! The ending was great too!!! 🙂

I don’t read sci-fi romances very often but I did really enjoy this one! The author was fantastic at painting the picture in every scene, I could picture myself being a part of the adventure with Princess Mora and Darin, an unlikely couple that I found myself rooting for from the moment they met each other. The story kept me hooked with all the secrets, self-discovery, humor and the ultimate challenge: following your head or your heart. The book ended on a cliffhanger that I wasn’t expecting, which makes me eager for me to read more of the story. I also can’t wait to read more by the author.

Lucky Stars is a fun sci-fi romance. It’s great if you’re looking for some fast-paced adventure alongside the romance! I was attracted by the “Roman Holiday in space” description and it definitely delivers on that, so if you’re a fan of Roman Holiday and also space you’re in for a treat!
I really like the dynamic between Princesses Pola and Mora at the start, which establishes the difference in expectations for Mora as the eldest, but also emphasises her youth and independence.
I also love the descriptions of places and cultures – there’s a lot of worldbuilding gone into this! It’s a great book if you enjoy exploring fantastic worlds.
This book gets five stars from me. It’s the first I’ve read by this author, and I look forward to reading more!

Mora is a Princess and she’s bored. She’s fated to marry a prince from another moon and in only 10 days.
She travels to her betrothed planet but during some tours of her new home she comes across Darin , a simple tour guide (or so he says). The chemistry is instant and Mora doesn’t resist the call of it.
But how can this work? A tour guide and apparent past criminal who hardly squeaks by and Mora who is royalty.
A fast paced story of Star crossed lovers and a cliffhanger making me want more.

Short but sweet
This is a very short contemporary romance. The author has very detailed writing which makes for a fulfilled read, even though the story is short. I enjoyed the interactions between the characters, the strength of Zarifah and protectiveness of Cutter. The author handles the sensitive storyline around domestic violence very well. A good read.

This is a prequel but this was absolutely an attention grabber! This is about Cole and Riley, two people who you’d imagine are in completely different worlds could never relate to one another. Riley’s never known stability in her life her stability is running away and working on her next con to try to and stay afloat with her partner in crime: her mother. Cole is the opposite; you’d think he’s living the high life on his way to a scholarship but he’s running from his own issues, they want nothing more than to be normal and have normal lives. when the con-woman finds her next target and is in the process of making her getaway, she’s caught but is it just the item that’s been taken? Or something more?

I enjoyed this New Adult Romance with Sci Fi…it was a great mix and really great story.

Two worlds come together to arrange a marriage to include an alliance of Princess Mora and
Prince Fidge…but there is more to this. Princess Mora wants more to life then just to marry a Prince.. and when Princess Mora finds more into this arranged “marriage” she does not want that life and be more free.

Darin O’Joy is more of an outcast…but also wants to be free and as a pilot, and also enjoys being in the company of Princess Mora, even though she hids her identity from Darin. There is definite attraction between Darin and the Princess …. what happens if Darin finds out the true identity of the Princess? Will love prevail or will Princess Mora go back to her obligations as a dutiful Princess?

This story was fun to read, adventure, travel, destiny, romance and fast pace easy to read. I am praying there is another book coming……..

A great book, but unfortunately a very short read. I would have loved to have seen more detail in both the characters and the plot. The author did a great job of keeping me on my toes, but it ended all too quickly. I enjoy a complex book, but this lacked that complexity that I love. I can say that I cannot wait to dive into the rest of this series because I want to know what happens next!

The romance is there, but not as in depth as I would have liked to see. Honestly it is difficult to talk about this novel without giving anything away because of how short it is. I guess you will just have to pick this book up for a quick read!

Cristy and Adam are like gasoline and matches, their chemistry is palpable. She is a mega pop star with a past, and he is one of the stars of the rock band Balefire. Together they make more than fire! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I must say she did not disappoint! I cannot wait to read more, I appreciate that I didn’t have to read the other books in the series first to understand what is going on, but I must say I definitely want to read the rest and see if they are truly a standalone series or if they all tie together like I suspect (even subtly).

I thought this book was well written. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. The story about Adam and Cristy started when Cristy was invited to tour with the guys of Balefire.
Everyone seemed to welcome her with open arms especially Adam. The two of them hit it off right away and flirted like crazy. Adam isn’t like one of Cristy’s usual hookups during a tour. He had real feelings for her and she for him.

Cristy had a horrible past that no one would ever want to even think of let alone endure. The things she was subject to is disgusting. All at the hands of people who were supposed to protect her. Even with Cristy’s past, she is still the life of the party and knows how to have an awesome time no matter what she does.

While Adam and Cristy get closer and closer, Cristy’s past comes looming and she is scared of all the what ifs. Will Cristy let the boys of Balefire help her or will she do what she does best when the going gets rough and RUN?!?!

This was a very good read.

Savage start was so so good! I hardly put it down, finishing the same day I began. The author is wonderful at creating a story, characters and a bit of mystery with the plot. We don’t know much about either of the main characters, Riley or Cole. But it’s enough to have sucked me in. They both have a lot of baggage with their family, and a bit of mystery surrounding their life. The ending was such a cliff hanger, it was frustrating… but the author did warn us of that! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I am sure this will be a series I love!

Savage Start is the prequel to Isla Vaughn’s Hidden Valley Elite series. I have to say I really should have paid attention because just when stuff really got me hooked, it ended. It was short, a very fast read that leaves you curious about the teens at this school. I will say I have a lot of questions which I’m sure is the point but a lot of them stem from Riley. I am extremely interested in reading the rest of the series as I’d like to know what happens to this pair as well as some of the other popular and not so popular kids in this story. I do think this laid some decent ground work for the series but felt that there were some things that could have been either explained better or omitted altogether.

Riley and Cole seem like they’re going to be a safe haven to one another through the wild storms their lives bring to them. While from different backgrounds, they both have surprises behind closed doors that no one would guess at.

Riley, a con artist teen who is used to moving frequently, changing her appearance to blend in and who learned everything she knows from her mom, is a teen wondering what her mom has up her sleeve this time. They have moved again to a new location, and she still hasn’t switched her appearance to fit in with the crowd. However, she has never lived close to a beach before and takes advantage of spending as much time as she wants wandering and thinking. While on a stroll, she caught sight of a house party and found her way in to get a sense of the crowd. She meets Cole as she tries to filch something small to make herself feel more comfortable.

Cole, a local rich kid with everything people could imagine they’d want, has a lot of skeletons in his closet. He is attending the party at his cousins house that Riley sneaks into from the beach. As he catches her coming out of one of the upstairs rooms, he corners her. Inexplicably, they’re both feeling a strong draw and wild attraction to one another.

As the story progresses, you see more about how resilient and tough these teens are, and the screwed up things that can be happening that no one else realizes. This was an excellent way to introduce the series and I can’t wait to read deeper into their stories and watch their relationship build!
