A well developed tale of a young girl faced with a difficult future, Talise can bend (or manipulate) the elements. I truly enjoyed the Easter eggs the author added to the story and details such as the map really help the reader see what the author intended. I found out this was written as novellas after I read it and I couldn’t tell. I genuinely thought I was reading a well thought out and put together novel. I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. I can’t wait to start on book 2 in the Elements of Kamdaria series!

This is the second Parker Lake story, but the first one I have read. From the opening scene where Breckin gets out of her car to help the sheriff move a donkey out of the middle of the road, I was hooked. I lived in a small town where livestock and wildlife could delay your travel time to work. This story did a great job of showing how quaint small-town life can be. Everyone knows everyone, knows everyone’s business, and knows all the town gossip. I enjoyed the comedy relief that Olivia Sherwood put in her story. Breckin and Griffin have their friends rooting for them to get together, they both deserve a happy ending after the heartache they have both been through.

Amazing. Debra Parmley has not disappointed me yet. I read the first book in this series and the second one was just as good. Leann seems to draw drama to her. Her sister Betsy is happily engaged to her man, and Leann is looking to settle down too. But can she find happiness with a police officer? Read this book if you like romance, suspense, and unpredictable story plots. I will be reading this again.

This book is one of my favorites, Red’s story. After Red’s father passes away, he decides to pack it up and move on where nothing is holding him back any longer. Red’s story is truly a journey. He meets a wonderful woman, Cheryl, and becomes instantly attached to her. Cheryl wanted nothing more to go with Red and have a journey herself but then decides it is not for her and ends up going back home. The journey takes Red first to Tucson where he joins the Satan’s Devils MC and eventually ends up in Vegas chapter and eventually becoming the Vegas chapter President.
The more I read Manda Mellett’s books, the more I just love each character. I really get drawn in to her storytelling and this story was hard to put down. I am so looking forward to book 2!!!

Book 2 of the Bobbins Sisters series, and I enjoyed it. It had a great flow to it, and Leann was a sweet girl. First book gave her kind of a wild feel, and this book we really get to see her in another light. The book reflects Leann starting a new job at a bank, and coincidently dating a gorgeous police officer. She tends to be more in tune to her surroundings, and her new bf is attentive and checks in consistently. When a robbery takes place at her new job things really become intense and we get to see all Leann has learned and get a glimpse of her man in blue in action. This book was light and fun, but still had the drama and suspense.

What a great fantasy book! Talise, the main character has the ability to shape the four elements. She finds herself going to the academy to help shapers hone in their abilities. There was so much to this book that I really enjoyed. Especially the development of the main character at the end of the story. I love how the character really came together and tied down the story.

Blood Oath, the 2nd book in Amy McKinley’s Mafia Elite series had me hooked. I love all of McKinley’s books, but the Mafia ones are my favorite. There are a LOT of characters, which makes the first part of the book intense, but once I get a feel for who is dating who, and related to who, it all falls into place. This book could be read without reading the first, as they focus on different characters, but there are a lot of connecting story lines and details. They are all wonderful, so just do yourself a favor and read both. This book focuses on Enzo and Sofia, the younger generation of the Chicago Mafia families. They have been friends for life, and both share feelings for each other. However, Enzo is promised to another, in a marriage contract, which has had them fighting their feelings for years. When danger strikes, these two are thrown together and despite a deadly situation, it is exactly what they both need. I love that Sofia (and all the Mafia Princesses) are not delicate flowers. They are bada$$ women who are trained from a young age to fight, withstand torture, and shoot a gun. Their family bonds are wonderful too, with siblings sharing close bonds. I cant wait to read the next book in the series.

Rock Me to the Top: A Gracefall Rock Star Romance by Victoria Zak is a contemporary romance. This new adult romance is everything.
He fell for the deception. Joe Grace, the uber-sexy drummer, has it all except his closest friend Melody, with whom he wishes to share everything. When he hires Mel to organize his band’s tour, scorching summer evenings ignite a fresh desire that neither of them can deny, but their passion also rekindles the darkness that lurks under long-buried secrets and lies. Unless he bares his soul and puts it all on the line, he might lose the lady he loves. She was taken in by the fantasy. Melody Sterling has a long history with rock & roll. She had a front-row experience of the devastation that lifestyle had on her parents’ relationship as the daughter of a famed rocker. After that calamity, you’re dating a rock star? It’s not going to happen! Until one of her closest friends does. She joins Joe on their Gracefall summer tour, down on her luck—and presumably out of her mind—and quickly falls for the dream of his wild world. She must now decide whether her own aspirations are worth fighting for, even if it means losing the guy she loves.
I loved this story and the concept of it as well. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read more.

Red’s Peril Part 1: The making of an MC Prez (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter) by Manda Mellett is one of the best Satan’s Devils Books I have personally read. If you have read Ms. Melletts previous books then the name Red will sound familiar. Full of wonderful writing, terrific main character, and great supporting characters Ms. Mellett did not disappoint with giving Red his own story. Red’s Peril Part 1 is filled with drama, emotional scenes, steamy scenes, and of course plenty of suspense. The only thing I was disappointed by is I was hoping for a happy ending for our Red and instead I got a cliffhanger, so I am eagerly awaiting part 2. So if your looking for a great new biker book then I highly recommend Red’s Peril Part 1: The making of an MC Prez (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter) by Manda Mellett.

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria Book 1) By: Kay L Moody Genre: Fantasy & Young Adult Pages: 409
Finally I have found my new favorite series! This is all the way around Vampire Academy vibes. Female protagonist with magic and adventure. I just learned about different tropes and I can tell you this is a fan favorite. This is book one of the new best series out there I can sense it I am so excited for book two. Moody is the new Mead, I did not put this book down it is just adventure adventure adventure. Fantasy doesn’t even cut it you are transported to an entirely new world with characters that you will fall in love with. This is so fun, Moody knows how to build characters and have you turning every page and then in five hours your done. Five stars even though this deserves ten.

Red’s story starts with a death, after living in a regimented home life and working hard the rest of the time, Red is desperate for a change and when the opportunity arises, he gives his two weeks notice in and says goodbye to the man who gave him a chance and a place to both learn a skill and keep his sanity. He leaves after a small sending off gathering which reminds him of what he is leaving behind, and for a moment or two wonders if he is doing the right thing, but soon he is all packed and ready to head south to escape to a warmer climate on his refurbished bike.
A couple of days pass in a haze of riding, stopping at diners and motels, as well as a bit of sightseeing dotted in for good measure, that is until he arrives in a small town and is captivated by the woman working in the local diner, there is just something about her that intrigues him and so he decides to stay in the town and see what happens. As he spends a bit more time with the lovely lady, he ends up inviting her to stay the night, which shows how compatible in bed they are, as well as being kindred spirits at heart and in the morning, she asks to tag along for the ride and Red agrees. Things aren’t all good though when after only a couple of days, she decides that the life isn’t for her and she wants to go home, Red isn’t impressed with the sudden change of heart and leaves her on the side of the road at another small town diner to make her own way back.
He regrets this almost immediately and wishes he knew how to make sure that she got home ok, but as the miles pass and he travels around and gets talking to a couple of old bikers, he takes some of their friendly advice and finally decides on a destination to travel to, however, when he finds that he only employment he can get is with an MC club, he is initially reluctant. As he sees and hears more about the MC and that they are on the straight and narrow, he decides to give the club a change and agrees to prospect for them and as time passes he becomes more comfortable with the idea and starts to enjoy this new stage in his life, but now and again, he still thinks of the woman he left behind, but will his future lie with the MC, even after the novelty of it has worn off and he realises .exactly what he has let himself in for, or will he decide that the MC isn’t for him after all? This is a story about finding where you belong and how sometimes it isn’t where you would expect it to be, as well as how the plans you start out in life don’t always end up being how you finish them with lots of action and entertainment throughout.

Talise is only a child living in the empire of Kamdaria, but she is also one of the lowest caste of people who live there, she lives in the third ring known as Storm, it is a brutal place where the only people who survive there are criminals and there is no way out, once you are sent there, every generation which follows remains. Talise however, has something which the others around her don’t and because of this, the only other member of her family takes her to the middle ring of the empire, known as the Gate, it has taken years to get her there, but now they have arrived, they will not take no for an answer to their demands.
The reason Talise has come to the Gate region is so that she can be tested to see whether she can earn a place at the Academy where those with a talent for shaping the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water are tutored and taught all they need to become Shapers. Nobody from Storm has ever been a Shaper and so when they turn up at the end of the day, they are automatically dismissed as vermin and treated like scum, however, when her family is about to be assaulted, Talise shows exactly what she can do and earns herself a place in the Academy.
After she says goodbye and promises to become a Master Shaper, Talise spends the next ten years preparing to do just that, she is determined and works harder than anyone else there and surpassing them at every stage, that is until a young man in the same year proves that he is a worthy adversary. As the day of the final testing and competition arrives, Talise is struggling to concentrate and makes a decision which has consequences she never dreamed of and because of this, she has to share the title of Master Shaper with the one person she couldn’t stand and now thanks to a daring scheme, they have to work together, however, hating each other is harder than expected. As they face numerous trials, an unexpected attraction builds between them, however fate is not on their side as dark secrets emerge all around them, but will they be able to work together in order to survive, or will the future be as bleak as if they were still in the Storm?
This is a fast paced rollercoaster of action, magic, secrets and emotional turmoil as decisions are made and consequences are rendered in this world where elements are used to the advantage of some and disadvantage of others, all the while asking the hard questions of how war and prejudice can affect the society around it.

I thought I loved Jax Teller but Red s giving true SOA vibes. This is a true journey as you read it is a whirlwind of emotion. Are you a fan of motorcycles? Now this isn’t the best book I have read but it is worth it and I am excited for book two Amazing cover art. This story is a romantic adventure of love quickly lost, a path that is unknown. Can dreams come true. Mellett has created a very original plot and theme. Where can you go wrong with love and motorcycles? Red is red hot in my mind and I am guessing in book two he will sizzle.

This book captured my attention from the very beginning. The magic system was interesting and the characters were well thought out. The main character has many terrible cards dealt to her, and experiencing her tackle each obstacle put in her way made this book such an enjoyable read. I also enjoyed the many plot twists. Talise is a character to route for from the start, but even as she rises up to each challenge, I liked that they didn’t all go her way. The story has action, magic, heartbreak, plot twists, and a touch of romance. I will definitely be looking into other works by Kay L Moody!

As the start for the first book it odes start off a little rocky, and feels like you were thrown in the middle of something, but it does explain during the even what caused this to happen briefly. Could’ve used a little more background to the story, but being the first book of a series it was to be expected. Im hoping for more in the future! Dalhia is a good strong character. She battles adversary when it’s thrown her way with a little oops here and there. The murder mystery/fantasy is a good combination that we don’t see enough of. I hope it continues onto the other books this way, or if it will swing one way or another. The writing starts off a little clunky and not as smooth, but it does get better later in the book! I enjoyed reading it and cant wait to read the other books in this series!

If you are looking for a fast suspenseful read, look no further, Check-In by Debra Parmley is a great suspenseful read. The details are amazing for this short story. The characters are created in the story rather quickly. It seems you start reading the book and the next minute you are done with it. Leann has a new job at a bank. Just her luck, the bank is being robbed. She hides and tries to call her boyfriend, the police officer. Will he be able to save her and the others in the bank? Mr Nice Guy is the first book in the Pierce Brothers series and really gets the ball rolling with a witty, well thought out storyline and loveable characters. Chelsea is ALWAYS dating the wrong guy! She shares an apartment with her older brother’s friend Tom who is not only good looking, stable and considerate, but he is a good guy and he has grown tired of listening about her dating disasters all while developing feelings for her. One day inspiration strikes and Chelsea’s friend Nadia entices Tom to give Chelsea a week with a good guy to get her over all the bad ones. Seems harmless enough at first, but as the week progresses, they both find each other falling and wanting each other as more than just friends. Can they stay friends and roommates after this week, or will the sparks fly and they become more? You will root for their budding romance as you continue to read and you will find yourself not able to put the book down until you know what will happen. This book truly was such a great read with characters full of heart that you so easily connect with. And the steamy scenes will have you sweating! Believe me when I say you want to read this book!!

This was a page-turner! “Spoilsport” is an enjoyable and entertaining romantic comedy and although it is book two in the ‘Pierce Brothers’ series it can be read as a standalone, even though the characters crossover. This book focuses on Luke Pierce, whom is a divorced father and builder whom never forgot his time with Nadia from his past. So imagine the complications when Nadia Alvarez asks him to help her with her fixer-upper house which is basically falling down. Both decide to work together, promising to keep the past in the past. However this proves to be difficult when they spend time together working on the house and enjoying each other’s company. The story was very lighthearted with plenty of romance and a bit of drama. I actually found myself disliking Nadia at times but quickly grew to like her as well. The characters are likeable, easy to relate to and engaging throughout the book. Did I mention steamy scenes, because oh boy did this book have many of those! I found myself cheering Luke and Nadia on and couldn’t put this book down until I was done and left wanting more of it. Highly recommend this page-turner!!

Talise and Aaden are great characters in this story and I cannot wait to continue the series! There is so much love, hate, and mixture of emotions to keep you looped in it all. You start off with a young Talise who comes off the storm to go to an academy since she has the elements needed in the future. We go ten years later where she is about ready to go to the testing to determine her future. The neighbor on the storm who helped her though passes and throughs her emotions everywhere. Now Aaden appears, and the new adventure starts where they are forced to work together to get the goal they want. Great job on this book!

Born to Fall (Can’t Resist You Book 2) By Brittany Anne
This is the second book in this series and it is my suggestion that you read book one before diving into this one. After reading the first book I was excited to jump into this one and it was as good if not better than I hoped it would be. In this story we learn more about Derek and Julia. Rain, Hunter and Derek saved Julia from the monster that tortured her and did other unspeakable acts toward her. Derek is very patient with Julia and I love how he takes care of her and helps her realize her strength. I got so engrossed in this book that I read it in one sitting. There is suspense, danger, action, manipulation, romance, and wonderful characters which makes this such a good read. The author does an exceptional job building a world that drew me in and kept me entertained. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to read what comes next.

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship by Parker Fairfield is the first book in the Perfect Pairings series. This is a heartwarming story that is a great holiday romance. This is a nice easy read that is great for juat losing yourself in for a few hours. You get pulled into the story and connect with the characters. I enjoyed reading about Olivia. I found her to be amusing the whole way through and I loved the chemistry between her and Jace. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I found it to be an overall enjoyable experience. I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

A Sweet Christmas: A Sweet Confections Novella by Nicole Richard is a fun and light-hearted Rom Com. This sweet tale will put you in the Christmas spirit and have you falling in love with the characters. Even though this trope has been used many times before, Nicole has mixed this story with all the right ingredients. It’s a lot sweet, a little spicy, with a dash of sassiness and a whole lot of sexy. Ben & Thea’s story is just baked just right for this setting. There is no drama, just good old-fashioned boy meets girl, with a lot of family and an outstanding business partner, not to mention lots of baked items and whole lot of romance. It is a fast read but a good read. Reviewed by @jennadb
The Mating Call (Long Claw Pride Book 1) by Brooke May 4 Stars!!!!
I have to say that my most favorite thing in the world is to find a new author and a new series to sink my teeth into. This book definitely fills both. I like how the author has a unique and fresh take on shifters and has a real good blend of romance and drama. The characters just jump off of the page and I feel as though I am right there in their midst.
I like how she makes the relationship complex yet simple as let’s face it you cannot escape your destiny now can you. I like how Cheyenne has some reservations and Lane needs to work for the relationship. I am also quite happy that it was not one of those predictable stories. i found that I just couldn’t put this book down and am eager for the next one. I also like the teaser in the epilogue that just really keeps the eagerness and wanting. I cannot wait!

What can I say? It’s Amy McKinley! From the moment I decided to read my first McKinley, I have quickly become fond of her writing style and her ability to lose me in these amazing stories of hers. This is the second book in this series. And I knew instantly after reading No Way Out, that I was going to patiently wait for the second book and read in one night! And that I did!
Enzo and Sofia are close friends since childhood. So when Sofia is threatened by a member of the Russian Bratva, Enzo will do anything to protect Sofia. What will Enzo do to keep her safe? There are amazing twists and turns and such steamy scenes. Bravo!
Red’s Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter) By Manda Mellett 4 Stars
Let me start by saying that I love Manda Mellett. I have read most of her books and loved them all. I get very excited when a new book comes out. For those of us who have read the other books, we all know who Red is. The president of the Vegas chapter, he has appeared briefly in her other novels. We finally get to know his back story in this book. We learn about his childhood and the road which eventually led him to the MC.
This book has a different vibe to it. I was somewhat disappointed. I found there was too much recapping of other storylines from the other books. I feel like the author was running out of things to say so she filled in the blanks with recaps. To me, the story finally picked up towards the end but then it ended on a cliffhanger. I’m looking forward to reading part two. I have a feeling all the action will be in that book. Can’t wait to find out what happens!
