Kiss Away Your Pain by Debbie Cromack is book two in her Wounded hearts series. Enzo is the whole package. He’s a model, a singer, a baker, a candlestick maker – just kidding, but he really is everything a girl could want. Candi is full of life, a firecracker, fun and yet incredibly guarded. After setting up her best friend with the man of her dreams, Candi isn’t convinced she should let go of the past and get her own happily ever after. After all, she’s already had hers. Enzo has to work hard to break down her walls and boy was this so worth it. The characters had such a connection, I loved it so much. I can’t wait to read more from Debbie!

Someone exactly like me by Debbie Cromack was so good. Honestly, I loved this book. It was the perfect amount of awkward and felt so incredibly real. My only complaint is that it took them forever for spicy things to happen! I was rooting for them forever it felt like and finally it happened. I truly enjoyed Destiny and how relatable she felt. It felt as if I was reading a story about myself – you know if I got to meet a celebrity crush and fall in love with them. HA. I love that she’s a romance author. While I’m sure this isn’t how all authors write their books, it was so interesting to be in her head as she wrote her book and came up with ideas. Nicco was described as a playboy which is what many people think of famous people. However, getting to know him, he’s a genuine guy. I am looking forward to getting updates on the couple in the next book!

This was my second book of Debbie Cromack’s and it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved the first installation of the Wounded Hearts series, and this one just grew my obsession even more. Debbie continued to deliver a story that was addicting and passionate and so fulfilling. This book was well worthwhile.

This is a kids story about sibling rivavlry. The author sets it up to show a long standing fight between the brother and sister. It culminates with a beach visit where the brother thinks being the hero is better and the sister says it’s better to be the villain. The story concludes with the siblings building and destroying multiple sand castles in an epic hero/villain battle. Cute story!
After She Became a Lady is an historical romance story. Wareeze stories are told in the distinctive style of descriptive language for the period, which makes the story flow slowly whilst trying to get the hang of it. The writing is very descriptive, and perhaps too much so at times often leaving me wondering the point of its intent. There are lots of loose ends and unanswered questions and it seemed that others were just glossed over leaving the reader to guess what may have happened.
This poor young woman recently married is thrust into a life of loneliness as her husband is called off to war not long after. It is the events she endures whilst he is away that leave her in a place where terrifying events are taking place, wondering what is hidden in the shadows, distrust, hostility and more. Laurel was a contradiction whilst she was strong in some ways she wasn’t in others. I would have liked to have seen her have a voicing her opinions rather letting things go to keep the peace.
What happens when her husband returns from war? Will he be the same? Will he believe the lives of others? Will they uncover the truth? Will she be cast aside and made to be the unstable one? Can she make him see just who his twin really is?

Kiss Away Your Pain is a beautiful friends to lovers contemporary romance tale that will melt your heart. It is the second book in the wonderful Wounded Hearts series. I loved the first book, and I loved this one just as much if not more.
This emotional slow burn story has a twist that Debbie wove into the story that I did not see coming. She writes emotionally raw feelings that make the characters realistic with flaws and all making them so easy to relate to and become invested in them. You may want to have the tissues nearby because you will become teary eyed. BUT there is also humour.
He doesn’t do relationships. She is trying to move on from heartbreaking loss. Can they overcome issues from their past to make their way to a HEA?
I look forward to more of this compelling series. Why not grab a copy to give as a Christmas gift.

This is a cute and funny story about sibling rivalry. I’m an only child so I couldn’t relate to the two characters in the book but I had friends who were exactly like these two. I found it hilarious. Anything that one wanted, the other didn’t. One liked something, the other liked the opposite. It was a good example of how different people can be in the same family. Not only was the story entertaining but it had some nice illustrations as well. I think children between the ages of four and eight would enjoy this book best.

This is such an amazing romance. One thing I have learned is that Debbie Cromack is amazing at writing a slow burn romance with amazing characters. This is the second book in the Wounded Hearts Series. It definitely could stand alone, but I definitely recommend reading the first book first. This is due to the fact that these are wonderful characters many of whom we got to know and love in the first book. I loved how Candi was introduced in the first book and I thought she was such a great best friend for Destiny. I’m so happy to see that her story was continued and developed with her getting her turn to fall in love. Enzo quite possibly might be the best boyfriend anyone could imagine. He is so caring for Candi and I found myself rooting for them with every page. I loved the development of their romance and I definitely cannot wait to see what Book 3 in the series holds!

This book is an entertaining and fun story with a suspenseful element added to it. I didn’t expect to find myself so amused by this book and yet time and again the characters and the story had me smiling. I thought the storyline was really well developed. It intrigued me right from the start and that lasted through the whole book. Linda Burson is an author that I tend to come back to every now and again and every time I do I am glad. Her books are well written and just a joy to read, this being no exception. A great book.

This was such a good romance book. I tend to read when I am on my break at work and I can honestly say that I was truly upset when my break was over. I wanted to keep reading what was going to happen between Nicco and Destiny. I loved how there was a very slow build up to their romance. I wanted to read more when the story was over. I love the character of Nicco as he is what I want to believe many celebrities are like. Incredibly kind and caring. I also loved Destiny and her relationship with her best friend Candi. I loved how descriptive it was in the beginning about their friendship as we all have that friend that is the polar opposite of us. If it wasn’t for Candi’s personality Nicco and Destiny never would have been able to meet and connect. This was such a great book that I didn’t want to put down!

Misfortune of Song by Christy Nicholas is the fifth book in the Druids Brooch series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. As with the previous books this one is well written and captivating. The characters and the story just seem to come to life as you are reading about them. It was easy to picture yourself in the setting the author created. The pace of the book was perfect, it flowed well from start to finish. Another book I have thoroughly enjoyed by this author.

She tries to be an opener for a drag club, thinking things will work out later.
Unfortunately, she soon realizes that won’t be the case. Women all over the world develop the same powers she does and end up going missing. She starts to fear for her life while still trying to maintain a normal life. She even meets the one – the girl of her dreams. She realizes that it’s probably a bad idea to try to have a relationship with everything going on, but the heart wants what it wants.
It’s a good read. This is the first in a two book series. I’m intrigued as to how the next book is going to go. I enjoyed the entire story. The characters were amazing and the plot was entertaining. The pace was a bit slow, but it was such a great story.

Finding Bryce is a short, but sweet, contemporary romance novella which I really enjoyed. I really wish it had been a full length novel as I’d loved to have explored these two characters in more depth. Pippa is in hiding from her ex-husband but is finally talked into going to a Halloween party by her friend. In a moment of weakness she has a one night stand with handsome SEAL Diesel Taylor. No names or numbers are exchanged but both can’t forget the other. When they meet again a couple of years later their lives have both changed but the attraction is still there. I really enjoyed Pippa and Diesel’s story. Although short, the author has managed to pack quite a bit into this novella. The storyline flows well and keeps the reader engaged, wanting to keep reading to see how their story turns out. This is just the first book in the series and I look forward to reading more about Diesel’s fellow SEALs.

This was a great read. I was gripped right from the beginning. I loved the story and the authors attention to creating the characters really brought them to life.
Our leading lady Pippa has escaped a violent husband and is starting her life over. When she gets dragged to a fancy dress masquerade party she decides this is her time to ignite the passion back into her life and boy does she do that will an attractive gladiator who rocks her world. Given her past Pippa doesn’t want to give details out so they lose touch.
That handsome gladiator was Diesel. Part of the SEAL team. Diesel has had troubled relationships in the past but can’t get that one night with the woodland fairy out of his mind.
Fast forward 2 years. Pippa has a big surprise and is in great danger when her ex husband returns and wants to get to her. Diesel returns wanting to find his fairy but is in for 2 big surprises. Firstly, there was a surprise left between Pippa and Diesel the night of the party and secondly, the woman he loves is taken by her violent ex. Can he use his skills and training to save her. And what happens when he does save her? Will the connection still be there.

Another great read by this author. This series just keeps getting better. I was instantly hooked and kept that way the entire time. I really enjoyed the relationship between the characters, it was believable and fun to follow. The ending was excellent, and I didn’t see it coming. Read this series today so you don’t miss out. Rainbow’s Red Book of Poetry by Lily Lawson. This is a lovely book of poems. I had never read this authors work before but I was very pleased with this selection. I’m not a huge fan of poems but these truly touched my heart. They made me think, made me sad, made me laugh all the range of emotions. All of these inspirational poems made a impact on me and my favorite was Game over. It made me reflect on the people I have removed from my life and the ones I still need to remove. Some of these I had to read a couple of times to really grasp what it meant to me. Poetry is very beautiful and this book is a beautiful collection. This book would make a great gift for the Poetry loving person in your life.

This book has so much going on from the moment you see the first page, I absolutely love it. The chapters are from different character’s perspectives, which gives a more in-depth understanding of what’s going on. I love Dia’s personality and her ambitions and how strong her will is. She’s been through so much and isn’t going to let anything stop her from what she has her mind set on. You’ll also meet Kano, who lives in his emotions and lets them dictate his choices. And let’s not forget Milo. I won’t say more because this book is absolutely worth the read. Filled with action, romance, betrayal, acceptance, hope, friendship, and so much more.
Mis-Spelled (The Stellaluna Chronicles Book 1) by TH Leatherman. This is such a fun young adult story. I enjoyed it as an adult so I’m sure others would too. There is humor, goblins, elves and a fairy land, what more could you want in a story. Its the story of Evan who gets transported into another realm filled with fairy tale creatures. Its called Stellaluna and its a magic system. Evan has to figure out how to get around in this realm and more importantly how to get back home! Evan and his brothers are very different in their ways of trying to get out and Evan is determined not to use violence. Evan is very smart and will use his brain to get out of this mess. This book will have you fully immersed in the world of Stellaluna. You will love it!

This book was a must read for sure, one that could not be put down for any reason! It gripped me, and held me at a stand still, I constantly wanted to know more to reach the truth! Outstanding writing!
Nothing can compare to a mother’s quest for the truth. Especially when she believes that what she has been told is wrong compared to what she thinks.. A mother will do anything for her daughter, even in death, that is certain. As a reader, I was at Catherine’s side trying to seek out the truth referring to Susie. The more answers we got, the more things built up and questions came to light. I was constantly trying to figure out the truth, only to hit a wall each and every time. Catherine wanted the truth, she was a very admirable character. Everything leads up to the shocking end, which I must say I was not prepared for, and it was jaw dropping! The character development was done with excellent writing. Great build up of suspense. And a story that is woven that makes you guess as the pages turn. An amazing read and impossible to put down! Loved it!
Such a good book with such good writing. Very impressed with this author for me! I cannot wait to read more works by them! Highly recommend this must read thriller book and author! Do not pass up!!!

Love this author for all she does and creates! She truly has the power to grip her readers, and hold them there, and take on a ride, often of self discovery, emotions, and most importantly, love.
I loved the previous book, so I was happy to see the certain characters appear in this one that were in the previous. Candi and Enzo were a match made in heaven, if they could work through the pain of the past, that was with their future. Both had gone through something rather horrible when it comes to true love. I had a lot of ups and downs in true love myself, as my now husband, we had to work thru a lot of pain to be together, so hence why this book and the characters spoke to me so much. I cried, and I smiled throughout my reading. The book was beautiful. The book really makes clear sometimes life gives you that second chance, but it you, that has to take the leap of faith! I was star struck with this book and author!
Such a beautiful and empowering read. Not one to be passed up! Even if you had not read the previous books, you must read this one! Your heart will thank you! Highly recommend this book/series/author!

I missed the first 3 books in the series and I’m unsure if I missed vital info or if they act as standalone novels but dang! An excellent read for sure! Renee was just such a well rounded MC and she had to be my favourite. If I’m honest, how can you go wrong with a little forbidden love. The ending was the cherry on top! A really great read!

The Sacrifice is the first book in the Dragonpets series by R.L.S. Hoff. It is an original Young Adult fantasy with dragons, magic, mythical creatures, humour, banter, romance, and more. The story was a cute and fun read, with interesting and creative world-building- but I would have loved for it to have been longer, ‘meatier’, and more in-depth. I really feel that the story would have benefitted from a little more depth and development. There are times where the story felt a rushed or skimmed over- while other parts felt like a bit of an info dump or ramble. Overall, a fun read- but with a little tweaking this could become quite a stellar read. Will have to see how the rest of the series develops from here. Happy Reading…

It follows up from The Prisoner of Paradise (Book #1)- so if you are yet to read the first book, I highly recommend that you do as there is a lot of important details, character information, interconnected elements/threads, and intriguing backstory that you need to know in order to get the ultimate reading experience from this book. This second addition to the series is everything I could have hoped for, and more. Mr. Samborn didn’t rest on his laurels, he upped the ante and bringing us another well-written, multi-layered, gripping and incredibly vivid story- which is brimming full of action, danger, suspense, twists, adventure, intriguing historical details, secrets, tension, corruption, agendas, complexity, layers, mysteriousness, and that famous painting that we discovered is so much more than it seems. After everything that happened in book one and only narrowly escaping Venice, Nick and Julia just want to get home and close the door on their nightmare experiences. But fate has a different plan, and instead they find themselves captured and returned to The Floating City. The sinister and ancient order are not done with them yet, believing that Nick can lead them to an ancient and powerful manuscript that they have designs to use to change world order. But does someone have their own agenda? Something so powerful mustn’t fall into the wrong hands. But Nick doesn’t seem to be in any state to help crush their enemy- so will it be up to Julia to save the day instead? But who to trust? Will she unwittingly enlist the help of the enemy? As things unfold, tension mounts to an all-time high- making for a quite a riveting read!!! The saga is set to continue in Book #3- Bring it on!!!! Happy Reading!

Kiss Away Your Pain is the second riveting instalment the Wounded Hearts series by Debbie Cromack. After reading Someone Exactly Like Me (Book #1), I wasn’t sure that Ms. Cromack would be able to match the captivating feel of that story, let alone better it. But let me tell you that I shouldn’t have doubted her, because not only did she capture the essence of that first book, she surpassed it- exceeding all my expectations along the way. If you haven’t read Book #1 yet, I highly recommend that you do. As even though this could be read as a standalone if you really wanted, I think knowing all the details of the first book will definitely enhance your reading experience of this second instalment. This is Candi and Enzo’s story- and wow, what a story they have to tell. They have been through so much- and are so perfect for each other. Holy hotness, Enzo just melted my heart and made me swoon so hard. We met Candi previously in Book #1, as she is Destiny’s bff. I was so happy that Candi got her own story and her chance at happiness. This story is such a sweet n spicy slow-burn contemporary romance with a ‘real’ and raw feel that definitely added to my overall reading experience. These beautiful, broken characters get a second chance to love again. And, as I am coming to expect from Ms. Cromack, there is plenty of emotion, angst, chemistry, heartache, and drama to keep us completely invested in the wonderful characters and all the absorbing developments. Now I really can’t wait to read ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’ (Book #3)! Happy Reading!

National Parks by Laikyn Meng is a heartaching story that spans over a decade- a second chance contemporary romance which you really will need to read to see what happens and if there is a HEA in the end. Ms. Meng is a ‘new-to-me’ author, but her story sounded intriguing, and the interesting cover drew me in- so I one-clicked a copy and set off to explore alongside the characters. This new adult story proved to be quite and angsty and emotional multi-cultural romance. The author weaves a realistic story with cultural elements, family dynamics, family expectations, struggles, challenges, heartache, travel, and adventure through Phoebe and Enzo’s story- giving us a broader perspective of what was happening by providing an alternating point-of-view. This might have been my first read by Ms. Meng, but after this emotional tale, it certainly won’t be my last. Looking forward to seeing what she does next. Happy Reading!

Super Enemies by Lois Wickstrom is an illustrated children’s story aimed at children aged 4 to 8. Bear with me while I get my thoughts in order here as I have really wrestled with my thoughts and how to write my review of this book ever since I finished reading it. And looking at some of the other reviews, I also seem to be the only one here with any concerns. So, let me start by saying that I have read quite a few of Ms. Wickstrom’s storybooks now, and generally, love to share them with my grandchildren as well as giving them quite positive reviews. But this one has left me feeling quite conflicted, and isn’t one I am prepared to share with my grandchildren. Now, how do I voice my opinion in a way that will make sense? Well, I guess I will just wing it and hope my thoughts come across clearly. First of all, I kind of understand what Ms. Wickstrom was trying to achieve with this book- I’m sure she was aiming for a bit of a silly/fun story about sibling rivalry and bonding through play. But unfortunately, it really didn’t come across that way, for me. The story introduces us to Mira and Carl, siblings who seem to constantly bicker and fight. They never see eye to eye at all, and this story would have made more sense to me if there was some show of or example of conflict resolution- showing young ones how we can have differing opinions, choices, likes/dislikes (you get the picture)- without having to resort to fighting. It was quite draining and a little confronting following Mira and Carl and watching them squabble constantly. I kept thinking why aren’t their parents stepping in and ‘positively parenting’ them. Instead, these two get rewarded for their bad behaviour by being taken to the beach for an outing- where their squabbling just seems to escalate to a whole new destructive level. And again, the parent/s did nothing! I could have accepted the whole thing and understood if the parent HAD stepped in and explained bullying, or even mediated some conflict resolution, or the characters had come to an understanding on their own…. As this would have totally changed my opinion of the story and cast it in a way better light. But that was not the case. I know the author thought it was probably inferred, but with little kids, sometimes these complicated things need to be spelled out. There was no agreement between Mira and Carl through the story to say that they would ‘battle’ for the day. There was no coming to an understanding of it all between them. Yes, earlier they had said she was a villain, and he was a superhero, but I don’t think a young child would have necessarily picked up on that. I really felt for Carl, because Mira was quite nasty in her actions. He was being so creative and diligently building his sandcastles- and she was being violent and destructive. It just came across that Mira was intentionally bullying her brother by destroying everything he built- and bullying is not ok. And it is not ok to even hint to young, impressionable minds that bullying is ok. But, again, I must stress that knowing Ms. Wickstrom’s previous work, I am absolutely certain that this was not her intent- and again, I seem to be the only one with any issues what-so-ever, so you need to take that into perspective here too- and that’s probably part of the reason I am writing this review with a bit of a heavy heart. However, I strongly feel that this story could be interpreted the wrong way and send the wrong message. The fact that the parent/s sat back basically while the children fought and didn’t intervene at all, even when things took a violent turn, and with the bullying/fighting occurring over a lengthy period of time, does give the impression that fighting is ok. And it is not ok. I feel it is a toxic message to be sending our young ones. Yes, we all know that siblings fight, even the closest of siblings can have disagreements- and for me, I would want to use such instances as a teaching/learning moment, especially in (this) a children’s story, by explaining conflict resolution, compromise, the idea of agreeing to disagree, and giving anti-bullying/bullying prevention messages etc. This story could have been a great anti-bully/conflict resolution tool with just a little more thought/development, and I am disappointed for the author that it isn’t. Even one of the pictures shows Mira with a slingshot and rocks ready to take aim at one of Carl’s sandcastles- on a CROWDED beach- and the parents did nothing! Someone could have been severely injured. A slingshot isn’t a ‘toy’- let alone to take to a crowded beach. Let alone to condone firing rocks with it???? Or am I being a little too protective. These things should be used under adult supervision, in a controlled environment- not by a little girl on a crowded beach, firing rocks willy-nilly. Just my opinion though. I know that Mira and Carl seemed to be ok with it all in the end- but it has sat badly with me. This is not the review I would have wanted to give Ms. Wickstrom, as I said, she has some truly wonderful children’s stories to her name- but I really feel strongly about nurturing young minds in a more positive way and I feel the ‘messages’ in this book could be misconstrued. Yes, conflict is inevitable, but shouldn’t we be teaching our children the right way to handle conflict and disagreements? I am not writing this review with the intent of insulting the author, as I know she puts her heart and soul into her work. I just felt that this book could send the wrong message… that’s all. I hope this makes sense… I have rated this book 3 stars, even though I had issues with it, as I know how much heart and soul this author puts into her work… Sorry, Ms. Wickstrom, and please don’t hate me for this review- I really did want to love this book as much as your others 💕
