This book is part of the WaterFyre Rising series and is probably my favourite so far. I loved the chemistry between the main characters. It was instant and so strong, it really carried on through the whole of the book. I was captivated by their connection and was desperate for them to find a way to surmount all of the obstacles they faced. The book is so well written and I loved the storyline. It was a gripping read and I could not put this book down. This author has become one of my favourites with such ease. I don’t bother to read the description of her books anyone, I just pick them up and start reading. This is a fantastic book that I would highly recommend.

This is such a fun holiday read, though it almost feels like summer as our heroine is in Australia and has surf and sand weather for Christmas. Do you think fate can hit you in the head like a ball? Well, this is what Lizzie has to figure out after she meets hunky father Jaz, whose son just happens to clock her in the head with a ball as she was trying to enjoy the Australian beach. She had told her friend Shona that holiday romances are nice but never last, so should she have a little fun while she can or should she cut her losses and run, considering she lives thousands of miles away from Jaz and his two children. Their story is sweet with some drama thrown in and a little bit of spice. Basically, this book has everything you need, making it a great read. I can’t tell you how relatable and friendly all the characters are, even the secondary characters have such a wonderful feel to them that I want to be their friend. If you like fun, fast, sweet summer-ish style holiday romances, you should definitely check this one out.

This was an entertaining holiday read. I have read several books by this author and I have always found them enjoyable. Part of the reason I love them is because the characters are so believable we all know someone who is like the character being portrayed in the story. This is a short read but it doesn’t feel like it’s unfinished in anyway. I was just a little disappointed that I flew through it so quick but that is because of the brilliant writing of the author and the fact I was so invested in this story. Lizzie is having a tough time, she has just been made redundant and with Christmas coming up the last thing she wants to do is spend it with her family. So when an opportunity arises to help her friend by buying her flight to Australia off her Lizzie jumps at the chance. After all its just what she needs a break far away from family and in the sun. What she does expect or plan on is meeting someone. Jaz is a single father who has his work cut out looking after his kids that romance never enters his mind. That is until his son accidently hits a woman on the beach. Now their paths keep crossing and he finds he likes spending time with her, he even invites her to have Christmas lunch with him. He knows she’s on holiday and will be leaving soon but wheres the harm is a little holiday fling. Because in Lizzie’s mind that’s all this could ever be right? There’s no way it could progress into something more meaningful is there? Will common sense win or will the magic of Christmas sprinkle just enough magic to grant them a Christmas wish? I loved it and even though its set in a sunny place the magic of Christmas still came through. This is definately a book to read curled up by the fire with a mug of hot chocolate.

This story has so many open doors for thought. Dylan and his sister Emily grow closer, once they learn to work together. Dylan wants nothing more then to be a detective, he saved his allowance to pay for the kit. He has even watched every episode of Youth Sleuths. Being the older brother he is the detective while Emily gets to help out. This story is well written and easy for the little ones to follow. I love that the author answered the readers’ questions at the end. She also added a new word to each chapter. The vocabulary words with definitions at the end of the book added that little extra learning. This is a great start to this series. I look forward to read what comes next for Dylan and Emily.

This is a great, quick read that (hopefully) is that start to something more! I really loved the connection we see between Oden and his daughter, Penny, and how he would do anything for her (as a father should) but that she had her own power and strength and he didn’t diminish that. It did take me a little bit to get into the story but once I did, I flew through the book. This is a fantasy read with LGBTQI+ characters, magic, and so much more! I highly recommend this short novella to anyone looking for a quick read that will immerse you into a world of dark fantasy!
A different read than I normally choose, however, really enjoyed this dystopian Sci fi novel. Writer paints quite the picture and builds characters and story well. I was enthralled and couldn’t put it down. Another great read poolside in mexico. Will definitely be looking for more from the author!

The Christmas Escape by Belinda Williams. This is such a fun Christmas love story. Its the story of Lizzie who has just lost her job and her apartment. This is right at Christmas too so when her best friends loser boyfriend doesn’t come thru on a vacation ticket Lizzie thinks “why not” so she goes with her girlfriend to Australia. While there she thinks she should have a fling with a hot guy, that might make her feel better. When she meets Jaz/Jasper who is enjoying the beach with his kids she thinks he is good looking. He would make a good fling. Jaz feels bad for her spending Christmas alone so he invites her over and the chemistry takes over. They both know this can’t be a long term relationship because she has to go home but when they both catch feelings what will they do? Read this fun Christmas time romance to find out! An enjoyable and engaging historical time travel adventure which kept me hooked throughout. Seasoned retiree Wilda Firestone is training her slightly clueless protégé, and so is determined to not be tempted by the thrill of time-traveling again. However, following a bomb the time machine next door is burnt to ashes and her life’s work is in rubble, and so she takes on a dangerous investigation. Although Wilda has scars from past battles during her time-hopping days, she convinces her trainee to time hop to 1850’s France. Here they must lure the terrorists out of the shadows, but their time machine malfunctions, and they end up hundreds of miles away. This leads Wilda to think that something is seriously ‘out of whack’ in the time stream. She must then unravel the mystery before its too late. This is a fun and exciting “romp through history”, with quirky characters and an intriguing storyline. The setting is brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative, and the author also brings the era they travel to, to life through the added historical details. I would personally recommend reading the books in order, as the characters crossover and their backstories have obviously been explained in the previous book.

Another fun historical cozy mystery with our young, orphaned heroine eleven-year-old Sparky. Once again, the storyline is set in Bunker Hill in downtown LA during the 1930’s. Sparky turns amateur sleuth once again as she tries to track down stolen precious jewels, whilst a gourmet cannibal is on the loose in the city. Meanwhile, her protector, the former silent movie star Tootsie is trying to get Sparky back to school. With friend Bobby not around Sparky gets friendly with a mysterious boy who works in a peculiar pet shop. Sparky must protect Tootsie and identify the cannibal before she becomes his next victim, oh and discover the whereabouts of the jewels. A fast paced read full of action with great characters and a likeable main character in Sparky. The descriptive narrative brings the setting vividly to life whilst the added historical details also bring the era to life. I look forward to being back in Bunker Hill with Sparky again soon!

I thoroughly enjoyed this psychological thriller which held me captivated throughout. Lynn Miller wins a life altering amount on the lottery, and suddenly all her dreams and goals are within reach. However, a stalker suddenly emerges from nowhere and is relentless, but her husband, James seems to be sceptical of the potential risk. Lynn becomes paranoid and uncertain as things become more sinister and family secrets are revealed. Suddenly her wealth is a nightmare not a dream and she’s unsure of who she can trust. To ensure she is safe, Lynn finds herself having to navigate between her wealth, deceit and family loyalty, as lines are blurred between friends and enemies. This is a fast-paced gripping read and the suspense builds chapter on chapter. The characters and setting come alive through the descriptive narrative, which made me feel immersed in the story. I literally could not put this book down, a must read!

What a delightful tale highlighting self-reliant problem-solving abilities and imparting knowledge about baking elements. Kneading a Winning Idea is a book centered around crafting delectable biscuits. Despite Ben’s annual attempts to clinch victory in the local baking competition, the ideal recipe continues to elude him. However, inspiration from a furry companion leads him to concoct a winning bread that finally secures his triumph. Ben discovers the significance of persistence, regardless of the outcome. The story instills problem-solving skills, emphasizing that experiencing loss or failure is not inherently harmful. Our feline friends are constant kneaders, making this story particularly endearing to us. I love that it also came with a fun recipe. It’s a wonderful addition to the narrative and a perfect opportunity for my son and me to connect in the kitchen after reading!

Lottery of Secrets by Nadija Mujagic. I loved this book and can’t wait to read another by this author. Its a psychological thriller that will keep you turning pages late in the night. Its the story of Lynn who is terminally ill and in a very abusive marriage. She feels like her life is a sad and just wants it to end peacefully. When she wins the lottery she is determined not to let her husband know and she is for sure not going to share with him. She is going to leave him and find a way for her to live the rest of her life in peace. When a stalker starts to harass her she feels like she can’t trust anyone around her. This is not the peaceful ending she had in mind and she even hires a private investigator to find the stalker. Fast paced, mystery, lies and paranoia abound in this book. The only problem I had with it is I’m not a fan of open endings but all in all it was a great book!

Fast paced cute holiday romance book! I loved the main characters a lot and the side characters were all amazing too. Very welcoming and heart warming. Super fast read but I really enjoyed it. Wow. This novel had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. Poor Lynn, beaten and abused by her husband, Jimmy. Not only does she have a rough home life, but she is also dying from cancer when she wins the lottery. I do not want to give away any spoilers, so I will just say that this book did not disappoint when it came to the shock and surprise of the plot.
I may have found one of my new favorite authors for the thriller genre. This was a relatively fast read and I cannot wait to get my hands on part 2!

Please please read reviews for content warnings. There are some very sensitive topics that need to be noted. This was a good story, although not a favorite. I did enjoy these characters and story building. I wanted more I think out of this but that could just be a me problem. However, Kate and Noah did have good chemistry between the two of them and that did keep me going throughout this story.

Secrets at the Cafe was a different take on a mystery read. The characters were cute and the story was good. I think the author did a nice job of keeping readers attention throughout and not making it too predictable so that I wanted to keep reading!

I picked this book because of a personal experience , when my son went to pet a German Shepherd and got bitten .
This book resonates with my experience and first things first , I made my son also read this book. Animals are adorable and it is never their fault when they growl , especially the pets .
There is a way to approach the dogs, first ask the permission of the owner , understand their temperament and then pet the dogs according to how the owner instructs you to do .
In this book , Laura and CJ have two adorable pets , Porter and Midge . This book teaches the kids how to safely engage with the dogs in a very interactive way . I wish there are more such books for kids to engage with the pets .

Rise of the Y is Book 1 in the Y Chronicles and this is a new author to me. I loved this YA Dystopian story….it was hard to put down as I turned the pages wanting to know what will happen next. This is a fast paced read immersed that takes you to a world of control, secrets, danger, action, rules and love.
Lexi just turned 17 and groomed to test into a career path, get married and have children just like her parents and grandparents did. Lexi longs to be different and choose her own path in life. When her plans do not go as planned, she is immersed into a job that is less than ideal with a mate that she has not chosen. When an attacked happens and what she known is lost, Lexi learns quickly secrets that can lead her in a direction she has never known….not knowing whom to trust. Will Lexi find out any truths to the secrets that are being revealed and an uprising of a rebellion?
This is a great story…I cannot wait to see a continuation of Book 2!! This is an exciting start to a new series.

The Christmas Carousel by K. L. Small was just as exciting and adventurous as the first book in The Brass Ring Series! This carousel adventure finds Rusty getting ready for the holiday season several months after the ending of The Magic Carousel. Grandpa’s health has slowly declined and Rusty searches for the perfect gift for him. The Christmas Carousel is set up at the local mall and more exciting, magical things happen when Rusty begins to ride. This book is so heartfelt, sweet, and touches, again, on some tough topics such as Alzheimer’s Disease. It also explores the true meaning of the Christmas season. The same realistic, believable characters return in this book and I found myself connecting with Rusty and his family as if they were my own. Such a wonderful, quick read by K. L. Small!

Lizzie and her best friend Shona are deciding how Shona should handle having a ticket to Australia that has already been paid for and is non refundable. Lizzie has just lost her most recent job that she didn’t really like and she has decided this will be her chance to get away and not have to deal with her family and their disappointment. She gets to Australia and realizes this is the best decision she could have made until her first day on the beach. She wasn’t expecting to truly have to watch her surrounds on the beach until a ball almost knocks her out. One of the most gorgeous men she’s seen comes to her rescue because it was his son Lachlan that kicked the ball that almost took her out. Jaz is a retired professional surfer and now owns his own cafe. He tells Lizzie to stop by the cafe sometime and to let them know that he sent her. To her surprise when she stops by he is there, that’s when she learns he owns the cafe. Since his son is the reason for her injury he does feel a little guilty and wants to try and make her holiday better so he invites her to his Christmas with friends and they begin to fall for each other but neither truly want to admit that they have, because it was only supposed to be some fun. After she tells him she feels they shouldn’t see each other any more she spends her last few days alone and heads back home to the UK. She decides when she gets home that she get a new job working in a law office again and come to find out her boss is actually friends with Jaz and it just seems like fate has stepped in again. Will she allow herself to finally be happy or will she miss a chance of a life time?
This book is a heartwarming and sweet read that I enjoyed more than I thought I would. Clean reads aren’t usually my favourite as I find I get a little bored of them. However, it worked so well throughout this story as it allowed us to get to know the characters even more. I connected quickly with the characters and loved watching their stories unfold. They each had so much going on and history that seemed to linger but they did everything they could to find a way forward. This is such a sweet romance and I honestly enjoyed very second of it. I am glad this is the first of the series as it means I have more to go!

I really enjoyed this story from the moment I started reading it. I loved the relationship between Oden and his daughter. He really would do anything for her but as the story went on you could see the strength that she had as well. This is one of those epic fantasy stories that seems to have a life of its own. So much happens and at the end of the book you are left with the feeling that it maybe isn’t as over as we think. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I enjoyed how captivating and exciting it was. I loved the pace of the book. It fit with the story and helped to create the overall feel. This is a great story and I am going to be looking in to more from this author.
This is a little mystery that revolves around a little red journal. It is a nice “who dunnit” story. I had suspicions but the author does a good job of throwing the reader off track. There is a slew of characters that grace the pages. All of them involved or suspect in this case. The story started off good but then seemed to drag a bit for me. The characters had a hard time holding my interest as the book moved along. I could easily flip several pages and still be in the same conversation between characters so I really didn’t miss anything. I have read books by this author before. One I loved and another was okay. So I figured I would give her another try. This one just did not work for me.

This is book 7 of the Invisible Magic Wand series, I’ve not read the others but after reading I went to check them out and I believe they don’t need to be read in order. I love how imaginative this story is and I think it will encourage kids to want to create something just like Caspian did. I also really like that he tried different techniques with his baking. I’m not 100% with the illustrations but the bright colors and large lettering are really nice.

But the mission is a fiasco from the beginning and Frankie fears she may never make it out of the Catford Zone. This is a sci-fi, dystopian story with plenty of thrills.
