This was a great listen. I am not very big fan of zombies or apocalypse. I have to say this was a gripping experiences I loved the fast paced story. This one will grab you and keep you to the very end. I seen this story not so much as zombies, but of a mother’s true love for her child. The lengths a mother will go through to protect what is part of her. This is a story of love, determination and strength beyond anything else. I highly recommend this book.

The Man in Black by L.R. Liverpool tells the story of Fenimore James. Young and naïve, Fenimore leaves home to pursue his life goal of becoming a real outlaw. First, he must choose a new identity, and he successfully becomes Simon Shaw. Being an outlaw takes a dangerous turn when Shaw joins the Red Evans gang because they start getting murdered one at a time. Despite the circumstances, Shaw falls dangerously in love. Nothing about being an outlaw or love is as easy it it seems. Part one is extremely detailed and slower going to setup everything else that happens in the book. Part two really picks up the pace and suspense.
Liverpool’s character development is leaves out no detail and the world building leaves no stone unturned.

This book takes place about 6 months after the end of Shattered: Logan Book 1. Logan is still trying to wrap her brain around the events of the last 6 months, as well as prepare for the upcoming school year. Before school starts though, Logan takes a trip to Portland. While there, her favorite food truck is attacked and a murder takes place. There are a few suspects, all of whom Logan feels are innocent and she’ll do what she can to clear their names.
This book has a lot of repetition throughout, which I found a little annoying. Because of that, there are parts of this book that drag along. However, if this is the first book that’s been picked up in this series, the reader should be ok as their is enough background given (sometimes repetitively) that no losses will take place. This book was also classified as a thriller. I would say more of a crime-mystery but I wouldn’t go so far as to say thriller. It was an enjoyable read and I’ll continue on with this series.

This is the second book in the Toronto Time Agents series. I would recommend reading the first book prior to this one for an understanding on the world and the characters. I don’t often read books with time travel but this one had me engaged and invested. There are plenty of twists and suspenseful moments to keep your attention and make you unwilling to put the book down. The descriptive narrative allows you to step through time with the characters. You can tell research has been done on the time period, and this adds realism to the story as well as making you fell immersed in the story and time period. I was gripped from the beginning and remained enthralled throughout. There was so much going on and yet it wasn’t enough, I needed more of Wilda immediately – I loved her. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book, this series has been great so far and I can only see it getting better if it continues how it has.

Logan McKenna is back in Whisper Creek, Book 7 in this series. While this book could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading this series in order. Suspense, intrigue, danger, murder with twists and turns….I enjoyed this story and already looking forward to more in this series.
Logan is now tasked when one of her friends is a suspect in a murder, to find out the cold hard truth. The police feel like they already may know whom the killer is…..but Logan needs to investigate more, figure out the pieces….as the victim was not very well liked. When there are four suspects possibly…its gets a bit twisty. So many accusations and lies floating around, who do you believe?

This was a gripping love at first sight romance with plenty of drama and suspense which kept me hooked throughout. Former priest turned street lawyer for the homeless of Milwaukee and apparent bad boy Connor, literally bumps into self-proclaimed good girl Jessica in a wine bar. Following a passionate night together Jess is skeptical of Con’s intentions, but over the next few days he manages to charm her and she starts to believe it could be real love. However, unexpectedly Con dose not show up for their first real date and Jess thinks she’s been ghosted and is devastated. Jess then realises that Con is a actually missing but the police will not help as there is no proof he’s been harmed, and he’s not a vulnerable adult. Convinced that he’s in danger Jess enlists her friends to help find him and eventually Con is found but he’s dangerously injured and in a coma. Sadly their promising relationship may be over much too soon. This was a fairly short story but it took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading it. The intriguing storyline flows well and the plot twists kept the suspense high, whilst the characters and the setting came to life making me feel fully immersed in the story. The chemistry between Jess and Con sizzled off the page and I loved their developing relationship, and was hoping they would both get their HEA. An enjoyable, entertaining and engaging read and one which I recommend reading.

This is the first book in The Y Chronicles series. It is a YA young dystopian story that has me completely immersed from the start. The author’s writing really brought the world to life. You can actually picture living in a world where everyone had a place and a purpose but no free will. With one group of people controlling all of human kind and stopping anyone trying to rebel in their tracks. This is a story about one girls fight to find herself and break free of all the rules places around her. It is a story of love and loss, Rebellion, danger, duty and secrets that slowly come into the light. Lexi has finally turned 17. She doesn’t want be placed in a role like her parents. To live a life that is uniformed with no free will. She wants the chance to find her own way in the world but How? When she finds a diary detailing things about a rebel group called Y it sets her on the road of discovering all she can about them. Is this group the thing she needs to break free? Did her mother and grandmother have any knowledge of this group? Were they every a part of it? And what will be the consequences of her joining such a group? When a young woman is torn between duty and towing the line and finally finding freedom and herself in the process which way will Lexi turn?
I loved this story and can’t wait to see what happens next.

The Men of Eden Cove by Naomi Valkyrie is a paranormal romance story. We follow Lucifer, a young man who is intrigued by the rumors regarding the men who live in the haunted manor in Eden Cove. Lucifer is a little bit reckless but loving to Ren and it made me love him despite his recklessness. I loved the friendship between Ren and Luci. I also loved how the story developed between Lucifer and Mordecai. We also get a bit of intrigue and mystery surrounding the men of the manor. I feel like on all sides this story was really about friendship and the things we do for love. I found this to be a very cute and fun story. I chuckled quite a bit. The story is a quick read with some good dashes of paranormal and M/M.

The first thing I can say about this story is…..NOOO! That can’t be the end? I want more… This series is Fantastic. Even with the ups and downs. Winter is trying to start over. Her childhood was not pretty, she fought her way out. Shane has his secrets and tries to keep them hidden. The biggest lie is that he remembers being bullied by the one girl who made his life miserable. Now adults and going to college, their fight is even bigger. This author is such a great writer. She writes stories the keep you wanting so much more. The story is fast paced and will keep you turning pages, but so worth the sleepless night. If you like holiday reads with a little angst mixed in, this is a great book. It’s a slow build, but once things start to move, it really picks up. The author does a good job of keeping you hooked by dropping bits of the situation with Austin’s family throughout the first half of the story, so you want to keep going to find out just what the situation is there. And once you do… oh the feels.
Being an ADHDer myself, there were many moments I related to Elijah’s struggles. And I loved that the author didn’t shove all that under the rug as the relationship developed. Both people recognized they still had things to work through to make the relationship all it could be, but they were willing to try.

omg this story has left me continuously thinking about it since I finished it! in a post apocalyptic world full of zombies from a unknown deadly viral outbreak, Amy is doing her best to protect her daughter Lyla. every choice, every breath could be their last. what will Amy sacrifice to save her daughter Lyla? in a word… everything. this book was absolutely intense and the tears came at the end of this book, my heart literally broke in this book and I highly highly reccomend it
This is the eighth book in this series and it just gets better an better with each book written, this book follows the Master Sardinia and Madria. When the rogues and shifters descend on the Island of Master Sardinia he is determined to protect what he and his other Masters have achieved, but when Madria is put in danger the only thing he can do to save her is change her.
Madria has the sight but she has always thought this a curse but when she sees something which disturbs her she has to right the wrong, but knowing she has always had a dislike to Master Sardinia when there worlds collide her whole world turns on its access.
Can they survive the rogues, Shifters and witches and themselves?
The only regret I have with these books are I read them too fast, as always there is action, drama and thrilling twists and turns which adds to the thrilling fast pace of the book. The worlds in which you create are so brilliant and draw you in from the first word printed on the page.
As with all the other books you have captured the feel of these character brilliantly and although this is normally a genre I read every new book has me itching to see what new adventure and rogues, shifters and witches this Mafia gang of vampires can rid the kingdoms of, although there are four more books in this series left I think at the end I will be sad to leave these sexy vampires and there mates.
Thank you for introducing me to a genre I would not have ventured but now love.

The night Hadley jumped on Steve’s motor bike and left Ross and his mother was the hardest thing Hadley had ever done. Knowing deep down her heart was with Ross, she thought she could eventually love Steve. When Steve upgrades from petty theft to prospecting for an outlaw Motorcycle gang her world descended into the evil horrors. Her only salvation is getting her daughter out of this horrendous situation and her angel is Ross.
Ross arrives and sees the abuse that his brother has physically inflected on Hadley but not aware of the sexual abuse he decides to recuse both of them and hopefully he can follow his heart and hopefully ,make a home with Hadley and Lacey, the only thorn in the side is if his brother follows them and decides he wants her back but at the moment Ross would gladly teach his brother some manners.
I have read the other books in this series and this one does not disappoint. I love the forbidden love aspect between Ross and Hadley and it smoulders on the page, with his Alpha dominance which was there is part but his softness towards Hadley was lovely to read. My lord, I love the way Hadley was strong and still independent after what had happened to her and that she was not going to let it beat her which was brilliant to read.
This book does have triggers of Drug abuse, Sexual and Physical abuse but the way the author has written it adds a shock value and lets you know what has contributed to this strong female character and her journey but is not shocking enough for to you not read. As always the characters are well developed and enhances the story and can’t wait to read more.

Alindra is a magician for the Kingdom of Summer, she is young, talented and imprisoned, she is terrified for her life and she is desperate to get away, so she makes a plan to leave and packs a few belongings so that when she does leave, it won’t be obvious to start with. Phaedron is a man who has been through a lot, as a child he was sent to the Land Below with his mother, but it was to escape something worse than death, but that is when his challenges began and his losses, but he trudges on and tries to achieve his dreams, but this is not to be and when he loses his arm and then his brother.
Phaedron hatches a plan to go to the Kingdom of Summer and steal away a magician who will be able to help him rescue his brother, however, when he steps through the portal, it doesn’t go quite as expected. When the night comes that Alindra has prepared for, she is checking that she has got everything she needs when suddenly a portal opens in her tiny room and a man step through it, so when he asks her to go with him back through the portal, she is shocked, but she agrees. This is where every plan both have made shatters when the portal closes behind them, neither of them can believe what just happened, but Alindra immediately goes back to her plan A and hustles Phaedron out of her room and to another escape route promising that she will meet him the next day.
This is where the challenges soon begin again, as both travel to their last resort way to get away, this is where Phaedron explains about why he needs her to go with him, who has imprisoned his brother and where, he also asks Alindra why she wants to get away, so as they both lay out their truth, can they learn to trust each other enough to complete their missions, or will there be more challenges along the way and can they really trust each other, knowing they are on different sides of the same war? This is an adventure across kingdoms where opposites must work together, magic is everywhere and trust is hard to find, not to mention attraction and forbidden feelings, it is a heady mix you will not want to miss out on.
Heart’s Escape is Book #3, and the fourth and final instalment in the Fallen Hearts series by Meredith Hart. As with the other books in the series this is a captivating romantic fantasy- with an enemies to lovers theme, action, adventure, magic, danger, drama, desperation, chemistry, spice, challenges/obstacles, emotion, mystery, secrets, tension, intrigue, superb world-building, interesting characters, layers, banter, violence, a quest, and finding love unexpectedly. This is Phaedron and Alindra’s story, which sees two ‘enemies’ joining forces out of desperation, and perhaps a little a touch of fate. We met Phaedron previously, as he is Rowan’s brother (Heart’s Rescue – Book #1). Desperate times call for desperate measures, and both Phaedron and Alindra have their own reasons for wanting to join forces. But trusting each other is a whole different story. Right? What unfolds makes for a captivating story of finding love in the throes of an adventure. As I have come to expect from Ms. Hart, this is a richly detailed story with wonderful scene-setting which helped to bring her world, characters, and story, to life. I was pulled into the story from the very beginning, easily connecting to and investing in the characters and the outcome of the story. This was a bit of a bitter-sweet read for me, knowing it was the final in the series- but also needing to know how it all played out in the end. I wonder what Ms. Hart has in store for us next? Following along as all the excitement unfolds. When a deadly drug starts leaving bodies in its wake, Jake’s mission becomes cutting the head off the snake, stop the supply, trace the source, and eliminate the threat. This proves to be a bit more complicated when he becomes a target himself. Add a deranged serial killer, corruption, greed, danger, and high stakes- and the story becomes quite the adrenaline-fuelled ride. It is a fast-paced story with lots of twists and surprising developments. This is such an absorbing read, I ended up reading it in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. This series just gets better and more addictive with each new release. I know I keep saying this, but I really can’t get enough of this series- and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of joining Jake and Cody on one of their exciting ‘adventures’- so I really hope there are plenty more stories still to come. The next book can’t come soon enough for me!

What another incredible book. I do have to say somehow, I missed book 2 so I will be going back to that but with that being said you can read these books on their own and still understand what is going on and not get lost or feel confused. The story is very well written that as your reading its almost like there is a painting going on in your head and you can see the world this story has to offer. The two characters especially Alindra and Phaedron, are in a whirl wind of stuff and it kicks off with hem right away on the run. Phaedron this time has a bit almost bigger role in this book, and we see things we are shown things from his side of the story. this book was both filled with romance, twists and turns, fantasy, paranormal, fantasy, and was well worth reading, even with missing the book in the middle.
This book is another great addition to an authors growing list of books I couldn’t/ didn’t want to put down. The writing was fantastic and I enjoyed this story alot because it felt unique and I liked the main characters and their development over the whole of the book. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend and I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future!
My Murder Year is a YA novel that is surprisingly emotional. The characters are relatable and it takes everyone back to being seventeen. I wasn’t prepared for how emotional this book was going to make me feel. This was my first read by this author and I plan to try to read more by her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It’s fun, exciting and a page turner. Lucifer is such a sarcastic and sassy guy but he has a good heart. The men at Eden cove manor are dangerous and invoke fear in everyone but deep down they are romantics. Couldn’t have asked for a better ending.

This is the best debut novel I have read in a long time, it drew me in from the beginning, to the middle, to the end!
The setting of a play and drama camp was the perfect backdrop for this mystery with thriller components. Not your typical mushy boy-meets-girl, as CeCe dabbles in necromancy as well as dark magic.
I really enjoyed some of the metaphors the author inputted to lighten up darker moments, for example, when CeCe’s anxiety calms and “changes my gut boulder to a gut pebble” instead of the often overused “butterflies in your stomach” cliche. I also learned a Cajun word (“”tataille”)- read the book to find out what it means!
Add the fact the leading star introduces himself in a gentleman manner by making up the Southern Gentleman’s Cotillion handbook, you have the quirkiness between the two main characters right from when they set eyes on one another.
Would entirely recommend this book to both the YA and adult audiences, “How to Steal a Scene” would be to read this book, instead of committing “grand theft auto” (more humor throughout the book to balance the darker side of the story).

While there, she gets to meet and experience some of the life of a glassblower. It’s only when her friend Thomas is accused of murder that she dives deeper into the world of glassblowing to try to clear her friend’s name.
This book is mysterious and held my attention, making it difficult to put down for any length of time. I wasn’t overly surprised as to “whodunit” but it did take me a bit to put two and two together. I enjoyed this story and the writing style and look forward to more in this series!

The Podcast Chronicles by Kathryn Dodson Narrated by Katie Hagaman Five Stars
This is the first book I have listen to by this author. I was enthralled with this story and look forward to more stories from Ms. Dodson. This was full of strong female characters taking on a big company, local politicians and the Chamber of Commerce to prevent a big resort being built and destroying the natural beauty of their valley. This book is narrated by Katie Hagaman. She has a wonderful voice and really brought the characters in this book to life. Awesome listen!!
Wow this book had me in my feelings. The devastation and heartache! I felt it. The story captivated me in the best way and I simply couldn’t put this down. Had me on edge and guessing till the last page! I highly encourage you to check this book out. Beautifully written with amazing characters and plot!

Heart’s Escape by Meredith Hart is the 3rd book in a series of standalone crossovers called the Fallen Hearts Series. I would like to start by saying I have not read the other books in the series but was able to easily enjoy the story. I will be going back and reading the others at some point though because this one was a very fun read. The story follows Alindra a Magician from the Kingdom of Summer and Phaerdron who is from the Kingdom of Fall. This is a slow burn Enemies to Lovers and I was so hear for it. Alindra is desperate to escape the Kingdom of Summer and find her sister in the Lands Below. Phaedron shows up from a portal in her room desperate for her help to find his lost brother. If you like Fantasy with love and a dash of spice this is one for you. 4 out of 5 Stars.

This book absolutely had my attention from the first page all the way to the end! I definitely couldn’t put it down until I got to the end and I will be absolutely reading the next book so I can see what happens with Riley. The book is a wonderful paranormal novel with witches, shifters, vampires, and other supernatural beings in the world. The author has created a descriptive world, with well written characters that are well rounded. While the romance is always one of my favorite parts of these books, I loved the relationship between Riley and her bestie Sam. I love seeing their relationship grow with all of the chaos happening. I absolutely recommend this pager turner!

This fantastic read is the next step in this wonderful series and it features around Laramie and Trigger. While the mating call hits them and draws them together its the underhanded actions of Leonard who I just knew was a total snake in the grass right from the start, that kept me completely intrigued. I was NOT so patiently waiting for Trigger to work out Leonards true intentions and now I can’t wait for more of the story. I simply have to know what’s next! This amazing and some what crazy family and town have weaved into my heart for sure.

My Murder Year by Kate Larkindale. This is a very emotional mystery that revolves around a 17 year old named Anastasia who goes by Stas. She lives with her mom and momma K who is her mom’s partner. She rotates weekends with her dad so she and her brother Teddy stay with him every other weekend. Her best friend is Irena and like most 17 year olds they sneak out every now and then to go to a party. She can’t get away with it at her moms but her dad’s is a different story. When her Mom and Momma K’s wedding coming up Stas can’t find her mom and goes to look for her. She finds her mom alright but she’s dead and she will never forget it. Not only is her mom dead but her dad is the key suspect. Now relatives Stas has never even met from Russia come to take her to live with them. Stas feels like her life has been turned upside down. I read this book so fast. I didn’t want to put it down. Its such a great young adult/LGBTQ read. Its very emotional as well so be prepared.
