Obsessed (Lila Casey Series Book 1) by J Collins was a pretty okay read that had me smiling, annoyed and just got me in all the good fun feels.

This book was such a joy to read that I had it pretty much read in one sitting. As I said it’s fun, light hearted, and has some pretty good chuckle moments. I’ve read my fair share of vampire books, and I always love it when there’s a new spin on the lore. This author did a great job of making this read fresh and enjoyable. The romance was quick, but not overpowering, it flowed nice and once the other vampires started showing up, the story found solid footing and took off.

I will say that our MC Lila was a little hard for me to like at the start. She seemed a little immature for her age, and it was annoying. She did get better as the story when on, but if it wasn’t for Adam (our sexy vamp) then I don’t think I would have liked her at all, and might even have not wanted to finish the book. Other elements like detail and the overall storytelling was a major draw for me, and helped with the unlikeable MC. But as I have said she does get better as the story goes on, I just wish she wasn’t so, eyerolly at the start.

Overall this story is fantastically good, it’s has that quirky feel that just keeps you engaged and turning the pages. I’m definitely going to be following this series, as I believe that it’s going to be something epic. So yes, this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

Obsessed: Lila Casey Book 1 (Lila Casey Series) By J Collins. This book took me a bit to really sink into but once I got there I couldn’t put it down. The characters all play off each other well and I sometimes forgot I was reading a book. Now a days I really have to be in the mood for a vampire story but this one was definitely what I was looking for. It’s well written and paced nicely, with characters you won’t forget anytime soon. I’m really looking forward to seeing where the author takes readers next. Give this book a chance, you won’t be disappointed. I’m giving this story a four star review and recommend it.

This is the first book in a series and the first book I have read by this author. Honestly, I almost didn’t read it because the cover didn’t jump out at me.

Lila Casey is a hard character to describe. She is someone who isn’t comfortable with who she is, yet has enough self preservation to own who she is.

This was a quick story to read. I would almost think it was new adult with some steamy scenes. This story had a sense of humor about it; From the main character’s inner monologue, “wasn’t it some kind of sacrilege to throw books around?”, the interesting characters (looking at you Tatum) and the way the story develops – it never gets to be *too much*.

I am invested enough that I will continue with the series.

Obsessed by J. Collins is the first book in the Lila Casey Series. I found this book to be a quick an easy read but enjoyable nonetheless.
Although I find this type of story to be a little over saturated nowadays I though this author did really well to keep it fresh and interesting. Although it was, in one way, a typical vampire story, it didn’t feel like I was reading something I had read a million times. It has a good story line and great characters.
There were times when Lila got on my nerves a little but the more the story went on the more I warmed to her. Her character was really developed well as the book progressed. This was a new author to me and I enjoyed the way they put together the overall arc of the book. This is someone I will definitely be reading more of in the future, starting with the next in this series.

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. This is a paranormal vampire story that is a well written story and engaging. Lila and Adam meet by chance. What will happen when he pulls her into a real life vampire world that is full of danger and passion? When Lila catches the eye of another vampire things could become a little dangerous. Is she save, can she be protected? They are great characters who make the story feel real. I highly recommend this book.

I am a huge fan of vampire stories. So picking this up was a no-brainer for me. I loved the quick romance of the two main characters. The story has its ups and downs. Parts I struggled with…others I didn’t want to put it down. I did read it fairly quickly. The characters were annoying, secretive and silly. I even chuckled and snickered a few times (Thanks Shane and Tatum!)

I liked where this is going but the inner dialogue of Lila got old after a while. She almost sounded like a teenager with some of the things rambling through her brain. Not counting what came out of her mouth. Now with that being said on the second half of the book…it’s like she grew and became not so annoying. While Adam is her guy I enjoyed her interactions with Tatum the best.

Easily the second half of the book was much more enjoyable. Once the other vampires started showing up and there were more interactions. It became fabulous! I loved all of them with their quirks and eagerly look forward to more stories with all the secondary characters. Even Nick!

5 out of 5 stars

The story Obsessed (Lila Casey Series Book 1) by J. Collins is an absolutely amazing book. It hooked me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until I had finished the last page. I have always loved vampire stories and this one is a wonderful example of why. I loved reading about the characters of Lila Casey and Adam Drake. Lila is a woman who loves vampire fiction. Little does she realize that when meeting Adam she finds a real-life vampire. I love that Lila is independent and is open to new experiences. Adam Drake is a businessman who finds himself not able to think of anything else once he meets Lila. There is an attraction between these two. There is also danger from another vampire who is also interested in Lila. Will Adam be able to keep Lila safe? Will the other vampire be found before he finds Lila? Read this book to find out. There is plenty of romantic scenes in this story that make the temperature in the room rise. There is intense and emotional dialogue. I enjoyed reading about the additional characters that are helpful to Adam and Lila. There are times that are humorous. The book also has times when I was turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. This is a story that I didn’t want to put down until I had finished it. It is a book I would highly recommend reading.

Having read as many paranormal romance and supernatural series as possible, J Collins felt a world developing in her mind and sat in front of her laptop. She’d written many different subjects and genres in the past, but nothing had come together quite like this vampire world she’d begun creating.

The character of Lila Casey is loosely based on the writer; if the writer indeed had the guts and sassiness Lila does. The writer’s love of all things vampire, and of rock and goth music, became intertwined with this series, and fueled the hours and hours of writing in the early hours of the morning.

Born and raised in England, J Collins wanted to create something quintessentially English in its language, settings, and humour, and she hopes she has done it justice.
