Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by AJ Renee – Review by Nakyshia Leger

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven, #5)Cursed Luck by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

AJ Renee has done it again! I read this book in one day. I did not want to put it down. I LOVE the Broderick Coven stories, and Cursed Luck, Book 5, was no exception! Edward Broderick thought he was not meant for love, until the day he met Mia. Mia is spirited and challenging but Edward can not get her out of his mind. As much as Mia doesn’t want to think about him either, not even her Earth magic is enough to keep him from flashing through her mind. Follow them as they navigate this attraction, and decide if they should fight it, or pursue it. AJ Renee gave us two more characters that you love and cheer for. The complex family dynamics, soul searching, lure of magic, and of course the steamy romance, provide the perfect story to tug at your emotions! Definitely another must read!

This was such a fantastic read – I loved every second of it. The writing was exciting, steamy, sexy and oh so captivating! I loved the characters and reading about them has been amazing, Gemma was a great female lead, not what I expected – she could definitely hold her own! She had a great amount of sassiness about her! Russell was a great Dom – exactly how I like my Doms!! I loved the chemistry between the two characters!
I haven’t read all of the books in the series but I absolutely want to now, this was a brilliant read and I would highly recommend it!

Weep, Woman, Weep: A Gothic Fairytale about Ancestral Hauntings by Maria DeBlassie – Review by Nakyshia Leger

Weep, Woman, WeepWeep, Woman, Weep by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Where do I even begin to describe the feelings this book brought into my soul? This is the first book I’ve read by Maria DeBlassie and I am blown away. Mercy and the other women of their town are haunted by La Llorona, who sees to it that the women suffer sorrow and pass that sorrow down from generation to generation. After nearly being captured by La Llorona, Mercy is determined not to meet the ill fate of every other woman, and to find a way to break the curse La Llorona brings upon her. This book is captivating as you journey with Mercy into spiritual and magical growth while she fights to have the life she desires. Maria DeBlassie has created a storyline so real, you feel every emotion with every character as you journey through the pages. I loved this emotional journey and can not wait to read more by Maria DeBlassie!

Wild Desire (The Protectors Series Book 1) by Toya Richardson – Review by Karen Pearman

Wild Desire (The Protectors, #1)Wild Desire by Toya Richardson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thought this was a good book as I have never read anything written by this author before. I wasn’t sure what to expect from her but found that her writing was very sexy and suspenseful. I thought she did a wonderful job describing the characters, so you felt connected with them emotionally and physically. There were several twists and turns along the way that I was expecting so she did have me biting my nails in certain parts of the book. I am excited to see what she does with the story and the characters from here on out.

The Guardian’s Legacy (The Coin of Time series Book 1) by Luciana Cavallaro – Review by Jennifer Reimer

The Guardian's Legacy (Coin of Time, #1)The Guardian’s Legacy by Luciana Cavallaro
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a really good book to a start to a series. It is a little slow but its really building into a series that I know will be great. The issues that happen in the book are really telling a story that will be amazing. A guardian to a artifact that is century’s old and to protect it his grandpa goes missing. People showing up that want to find his grandpa too. And finding out what this artifact does was a great build up. Can’t wait for book two.

Stranded: Cetacea Chronicles Volume 1Stranded: Cetacea Chronicles Volume 1 by Feather Chelle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Stranded: Cetacea Chronicles Volume 1” written by Feather Chelle is an insightful and educational book about sea mammals and marine life. The book follows Cherish, a Short-Finned Pilot Whale, and her family as they try to avoid illness that has been spreading throughout the Atlantic Ocean. The book includes maps, graphs and definitions. I loved that the not as common words were bolded, and descriptions were provided! I read this book aloud with my 7 and 5 year old children. We thoroughly enjoyed the story, and as a bonus, we learned new things too!

Runaway to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Finley K. James

Runaway to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #2)Runaway to the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nicole Flockton did it again. As she did with Ryan and Sindy’s story, she knocked it out of the park with book 2. The characters are solid and relatable (even if we aren’t all supermodels like Pandora). I adored seeing Sindy (Jonas’s sister) and Ryan in this book, but I’m incredibly glad they didn’t “steal scenes”, as it’s said. Jonas and Pandora shined together on the page, and their story was one hat had me enthralled from the beginning. The book captured the small-town essence so well. I almost felt as if I was in Bunya Junction! I truly can’t say enough about this book.

Runaway to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #2)Runaway to the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Have you ever showed up to a bar in a wedding dress? No, me either but that is how Pandora entered into the life of Jonas. This isn’t your typical run away bride story. I gave this story 4 stars because it is a decent and easy read. The characters do have some development throughout the story but the ending feels a little rushed. It is a slow burn steamy romance between the two main characters and they struggle through the whole book to overcome their personal issues. The issues get resolved in the last chapter of the book and the epilogue gives you a months after they resolved things and ends with a happy ending. It just felt as though there could have been more substance from the last chapter to the epilogue. I wanted to know more and be more intertwined into the overall plot of the story. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good book and worth reading and the series so far is good. I would recommend this book to people but would give a warning of the rushed ending. Again, this is just my take on the story. I am one that loves to be fully immersed into the story and I wasn’t with this one. I would chose to read it again because I can’t stress enough that it is good. I just like a little more meat and potatoes with my books.

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by AJ Renee – Review by Lianne Probert

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven, #5)Cursed Luck by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cursed Luck is the fifth book in the Broderick Coven series by A.J. Renee. If you have yet to read the other books in the series I would recommend starting with book one, you meet a lot of the same characters and already have a feel for the storylines which I feel makes this even more enjoyable.

I think this is my favourite book in the series so far. I love Edward and Mia. They are such opposites, I really enjoyed how the author brought them together but kept their quirks and identities to remain true to themselves. They say true love is never straightforward, and that’s definitely the case here. As with all the characters in the series so far, I find them easy to relate to…even with their paranormal ways. This book is really easy to read, the pages turned so fast!

From the turn of the first page to the very last I was hooked on this extremely well crafted original story. With its action packed story line and historical references you will be fully transported into this thrilling, sometimes time traveling adventure. Great and I think fully relatable characters add to your enjoyment every step of the way. I can’t wait for book 2. I NEED to know what is next!!

Runaway to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #2)Runaway to the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG I am so in love with Bunya Junction!! please take me there again and soon! Nicole Flockton has created a beautiful little town, a wonderful strong community and characters that weave their way into your heart where they will stay.

Runaway to the Outback is the second book in the Welcome to Bunya junction series and brings us the story Of Jonas and Pandora. Jonas is a Bunya Junction boy who returned to town, after a successful career as a stockbroker, to run the town pub. Pandora is a highly successful model who after having had enough at a difficult shoot lands in Bunya junction and decides to stay for a while to clear her head. Both have preconceived ideas about it each other and need to look past those to the “real” person beneath. I am positive you will be pulling for this gorgeous couple from start to finish just as I was.

Characters met in the first book do return and even though you can read this book without having read the first and fully enjoy it, I do recommend reading it simply because its awesome.

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by AJ Renee

Cursed Luck is the fifth book in the Broderick Coven Series by AJ Renee. This is a Paranormal Romance that once you start reading you won’t want to put it down. I know I say this with each book but this one is my favorite yet in this series. It’s a fast paced story packed with magic and drama. I highly recommend reading the first four books in this series if you haven’t already they are just as good as this one. This is Edward and Mia’s story . He’s what one might call a loner with a side of arrogance. Mia is a free spirit and does what she wants. The chemistry is understandable between these two. Edward has the ability to sense what others need so he tries helping her with her shop but comes off not the wY he intends . Can he help her out? I highly recommend reading this to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Runaway to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Runaway to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #2)Runaway to the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

With book one in this series, Home to the Outback, author Nicole Flockton became one of my favorite authors and that continued throughout all of book 2. Once again Nicole brings her characters to life with such detail that it is impossible not to get involved in their story and wish only good things for them.
In this book, we once again are taken to small town Bunya Junction and thrust into the lives of Jonas, younger brother to Sindy, the heroine of book one and Pandora.
Jonas is zealous about his work. He owns the pub and inn and works harder in a day than most people in a week. Pandora is a model and while she enjoys it in some aspects others make her feel the need to run. And run she does, straight into Jonas’ pub and in a wedding dress to boot!
Pandora is exactly the opposite of the model stereotype. She is warm, considerate, tender and is no slouch. She works just as hard as Jonas.
Jonas is determined, steadfast and opinionated and as the story plays out these traits make Pandora wonder if he could ever support her in some very difficult circumstances and decisions she must work through.
The characters are very well developed and the story is a page turner. Much like book one I couldn’t put it down. I love the scenes containing previous characters. Especially Ryan and Sindy. Getting to follow their lives together, even as supporting characters, really adds a bit of treasure you don’t get in stand alone stories.
I am in so in love with this town I wanna pack up and move there! Cannot wait for January when book 3, Doctor in the Outback, Scott’s story is released!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by AJ Renee is a paranormal romance story. Wow I can’t believe we are up to book five already. Not that I am complaining, I absolutely adore AJ’s books. As soon as I saw this new book by her, I grabbed it and jumped right into the adventure. This is a wonderful tale is full of magic and chemistry, humour, and drama and so much more. Each story just gets better and better.

There is undeniable chemistry, that is palpable and jumps of the pages but not everything is smooth sailing for this pair. He is arrogant but swoon worthy and she is free spirited and does her own thing.

Highly recommend AJ’s books for any paranormal lovers.

Mila and Elias set the pages on fire!!! I absolutely loved the first book in The Protectors series. The first interaction between Mila and Elias is priceless. He lets his emotions take over and doesn’t think before he opens his mouth to firmly stake his claim. I couldn’t help laughing out loud at that. Once I picked this book up I couldn’t seem to tear myself away. There is the perfect combination of romance, heat, danger and action in this book and I really loved all of the other characters that were introduced. I can’t wait to read their stories next! The world that the author Toya Richardson built is like a warm, welcoming extended family that you can’t wait to have a cup of tea with, and just immerse yourself in their magical world.

5 stars are not enough!! This book is phenomenal. It’s a page turner and I couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed it so much I instantly picked up book two in the series. If you are looking for a great read with emotion, detail, great characters and an amazing HEA, then look no further this book is for you!
Sindy (btw I love the unusual spelling of her name) is a great character. She is so well described it is hard not to relate to her. I became very invested in seeing her get that great love!! Ryan is the traditional male character who thinks a little too much of himself, but finds his own in the end.
Being in the medical field myself I love how the people are skeptical of the new doctor. In real life it is truly like that when an out going but well loved doctor sells his or her practice. Yet the people of Bunya Junction still trust nurse Sindy. She ingratiates the people of Bunya Junction to Dr. Ryan and really makes them all see how kind and compassionate he truly is.
Author Nicole Flockton is officially on my list of favorite authors and I am willing to bet if you give her stories a chance she will be on yours too!!

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book #5) by A.J. Renee.

Here I go again- I say this every time a new book in the series releases- but I mean it- this is definitely my favourite (😊 so far!!!). Ms. Renee has out done herself, again- because this book definitely proves that this series really does get better and better with each new instalment!
Again, as with the other 4 books in the series, this is a fantastic paranormal romance with magic, soul mates, sizzling chemistry, danger, drama, intrigue, emotion, and witches. As with every other book, I found myself completely spellbound right from the beginning, and before I knew it I had read the entire wonderful story.
This is Edward and Mia’s story, who were so easy to love, and I was completely invested in them and the outcome of their story. I loved that they continued to grow and develop over the course of the story.
I just hope there are more books planned for this captivating series, as I’m not ready to say goodbye any time soon!!!!

Thank you, A.J Renee!

There’s just something about time travel in a love story that makes it even more romantic. Every time I stumble across one I can’t pass it up, and I’m so happy I found this one! K.G. Fletcher did time travel in a unique way that felt new and exciting for me. I had no idea how it was going to work in the beginning, and was confused when Phillip had his first POV. But man, once the story really took off I was hooked! I loved the characters, especially Kat. I loved how well written it was with the music and time differences. Seriously, beautiful story. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cursed Luck by AJ Renee is the fifth book in the Broderick Coven series. This book can be read as a standalone, but I think it is best enjoyed if the series is read in order. There are recurring characters in the books. Cursed Luck focuses on Edward Broderick and Mia Hemlock. Edward likes being by himself. But, can he find a way to let Mia into his life?
I enjoyed the characters in this book and found them relatable. I also enjoy the paranormal aspects of brewing romance. It adds to the story and makes everything a bit more magical. The entire series has been great but I think this might be my favorite of the group. I look forward to reading more from this author soon.

Small town charm does it again; Runaway to the Outback is a story that grows on you. We have all had those moments where we want to disconnect from it all and take a breather or two. I loved that Pandora had the strength and opportunity to do this. She took a step back from the hustle and bustle of it all and ended up on the avenue of love. I appreciated that Pandora and Jonas coming together was not rushed, but they had time to get to know each other. I admired the complexities of these two characters. Runaway to the Outback is realistic, romantic, entertaining, and whimsical; make it your next read!

This is a story of redemption and true love. The author Thia Finn did an amazing job of capturing the terror that an abused woman goes through. She tackled the terror and danger that a victim faces as they make the decision to break loose from their abuser. This book is full of action, adventure and romance. I was on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last and just couldn’t put it down. Conrad and Callie face so much together and there seems to always be something else waiting just around the corner. I really enjoyed seeing the sparks of hope and the thought of a new life start to grow within poor Callie and push her forward to becoming the person she was always meant to be. Be prepared for this amazing book to take you on an emotional roller coaster ride but it is so worth it in the end.

What a great thriller filled with suspense with a unique spin on the writing done by the author. Some of the content in the book were touchy subjects and a little disturbing to get through, such as child abuse and manipulation. But in all honesty, that same twisted darkness is what draws you into the characters developed and the plot that you find yourself getting pulled into. All, in all, I enjoyed this gripping thriller.

Engaño (DeWitt Agency Adventures, #2)Engaño by Lance Charnes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second thrilling installment in THe Dewitt Agency Adventures series from Lance Charnes. I did find this one a tad difficult to get into at first because it was a touch on the slow side for the take off. It was detailed and hard to get through the set up but once I got through that and we were off on the adventure and the drama took off this book had me absolutely hooked and I could not put it down until I found out how things would work out for our MC. One thing I really love about this book is how much the main character, Carson, is a badass woman. She really is a strong female lead and I loved how that came across and flowed throughout the story. It made me really love her and the book that much more. The world building made me feel as if I was parting right there in the gorgeous coasts of Spain with her and I loved every moment that I held my breath while she made her way through the suspenseful moments. I look forward to seeing what will come next!
