This is the second thrilling installment in THe Dewitt Agency Adventures series from Lance Charnes. I did find this one a tad difficult to get into at first because it was a touch on the slow side for the take off. It was detailed and hard to get through the set up but once I got through that and we were off on the adventure and the drama took off this book had me absolutely hooked and I could not put it down until I found out how things would work out for our MC. One thing I really love about this book is how much the main character, Carson, is a badass woman. She really is a strong female lead and I loved how that came across and flowed throughout the story. It made me really love her and the book that much more. The world building made me feel as if I was parting right there in the gorgeous coasts of Spain with her and I loved every moment that I held my breath while she made her way through the suspenseful moments. I look forward to seeing what will come next!

Death Under Palm Trees is the fourth book in Carmen Radtke’s Jack and Frances mysteries series. It takes place primarily in Nice, where a festive gathering is doubling as a trap to identify a leak of information from the British Government. Jack and Frances are supposed to be enjoying a much-deserved break, after visiting Jack’s mother in London. They enjoy the journey, with wonderful sensory descriptions of the scenery they pass, but before they arrive they learn that their mystery-solving skills will be needed and they make arrangements to take on undercover roles that will enable them to snoop more effectively. I really like how the undercover roles Jack and Frances take on allow us a view of the servants’ lives. We see their routines, the demands they must attend to, the gossip and secrets they are privy to. It’s clearly well-researched! And it’s fun to see them struggling to maintain the façade of being strangers to each other and to Aunt Mildred and Tommy, who they have come to visit. There’s plenty of glamour as well in this book, although even the most glamorous characters seem to have something to hide. There are plenty of secrets to keep readers turning the pages. Is this character acting strange because they’re involved in stealing the secrets, or do they have a secret of their own to hide? I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it gets five stars from me! Now I need to go back and read the rest of the series… I would recommend it to mystery fans, particularly those who like a 1930s setting!

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by A.J. Renee 4 Stars!!!!
Another great adventure into the Broderick family. I really enjoyed this book as it wasn’t your typical straight forward romance. Both the main characters have their own self doubts and I really like how the author brings them together and love blossoms. I really like it when I don’t want to put the book down.
I really could relate to Edward and how he felt unlucky. I like how the author really wrote his character and how he finally adapts and grows into his abilities. I love the whole family dynamic and how they are so supportive. I really cannot wait to read more from this author.
Silent Gavel (A Crawford Mystery Book 1) by Merissa Racine. I LOVED this book and can’t wait for the next one. Its the story of Lauren Besoner is a court reporter and she has moved back to Wyoming for a job after a bad divorce. She loves her job and is enjoying the fresh start she’s having being back home. When she goes to pick up her boss the Judge and finds her dead in her home she is terrified and when she calls the police and they start to treat her as a suspect she’s really scared. When the connection between her ex husband and the Judge comes up she’s really worried. Using all the legal knowledge she has, she will try to represent herself and find out who the real killer is to save herself. This book will keep you flipping the pages until the very end! Can’t wait for the next book !

The Bastard Prince, the 2nd book in the It’s Raining Royals series by Alix Nichols was as entertaining as the first. I appreciate a good romance, but the author adds a sense of adventure by leading the main characters on a quest to find another key to save the kingdom of the secret county of Mount Evor. In this book, we meet Arnaud and the women he was pointed out to meet and seek the key with, Sasha. Both characters have good backstories and personalities to match. Again, we are put into the fun of the hunt with the addition of added history of France. The author is definitely researching while writing to add to the overall affect the book has. It’s definitely a fun romance with a treasure hunt mixed with a history lesson. It’s a great series and I’m ready for the next book.
Whisper Creek is the 7th book in the Logan McKenna series by Valerie Davisson. It can be read as a standalone book. I have read one or two others, but not the whole series. There are a lot of references to past people or events, but its not detrimental. The story is solid enough on its own, and much like a law and order episode. I loved the mystery throughout this book! From the beginning, we know there is a murder, and multiple possible suspects. Logan and her coworker friends act like detectives to help solve the mystery. The author keeps the options open, and reveals the evidence little by little. She keeps things matter of fact, without leaning toward one or another. We see possible motive, but we are left guessing “who done it.” Let me tell you, I was NOT expecting things to go the way they did. I want to read more, as there was mentions to Logan’s finance, but he was a limited character. I feel there is likely more to that in previous books. Highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys crime, mystery thrillers. It is not a scary thriller, but is action packed to the very end.

Love’s Refrain: A Time Travel Romance by K.G. Fletcher is so amazing! Anyone who reads this is going to love every second of reading this! The attention to detail is fantastic. I felt like I was there watching everything happen. I had the worst time putting this down and taking care of chores or sleeping. (Who needs sleep when you can stay up all night reading this wonderful book!) I was leery at first, historical romance is not something I would usually pick, but I am so glad I did. You won’t be disappointed picking this one up! I’m so excited to start book 2.
This is the 5th book in the Broderick Coven series and is 254 pages in length. This story follows Edward and Mia. Mia was taken aback by him, but ugh, that ego though. He was not prepared for how she would make him feel. Can Mia see past the arrogance into the man he is? His siblings have all fallen in love, but he never felt that was for him. Until now? Could she be the one?

Just like Flockton’s first book of the series, Runaway to the Outback was a cute game of cat and mouse with Pandora and Jonas denying their attraction to each other and inwardly stating why their relationship would never work until the last second.
This one in particular calls to me as Pandora is very much a city girl finding all the joys in small town/country living. The descriptions are great and I love the support that Jonas’ family provides each other throughout the books. Very realistic!

This is the first book in The Protectors series and its such a good book. I love paranormal romances and this book was really good. The author does an amazing job with the characters. I love how strong and protective Elias is of not only his mate but he whole family, and u also love how strong and fiesty Mila is. They both complement each other and their relationship and bond is so captivating.
Mila returns to her home to work in the forest. When her old high school bully messes with her house she is scared and angry. After meeting Elias, their first meeting doesn’t go well. Why does Elias claim she is his? Why does she feel such a strong connection towards and with him.
As everything Mila thinks she knows comes unravelled and she realises fantasy and fiction actually exist she needs to learn how to deal with her fated mate and her new skills, all while trying to save herself from the people trying to capture her for their own wicked ends.

I jumped right into this series, and was a first read actually for me by this very much talented author. I was amazed by the story and all it brought to the table. The novel itself, was full of life, and had its soft moments as well as its dark appeal at times. I was very much in love with this novel and the writing. I was left wanting more, so much happens and it was so well done and put together, it was absolutely perfect.
I related so much to the character named Allie. She was sweet and innocent and had her fair share of pain and suffering. To keep a closed heart, was the best thing she felt, as she could avoid to get hurt this way. Come along Nick, I think I need some back story in other books, as seems they have met before. Anyhow, their chemistry was undeniable. Allie is a flower that can wilt. Nick was a strong willed man, but let his walls down and showed his soft side when needed, especially with Allie, as he really card for her. Could they find love even in the world when it showed them both always so much darkness?
The character development and the hot sex appeal between Nick and Allie was incredible and addictive to say the least, I enjoyed the surrounding story as well. The trafficking story line was really well done and made me very much immersed into the story. I loved when Allie was to be put in harm’s way, that Nick was right there at her side to help and protect her at all costs. He truly card, and I believe in those moments Allie began to realize that he only wanted to care for her, and had no intention to cause her pain, mistrust, and harm. I loved how their love was not a snap of the fingers they are together. They both had issues to work through, and build. Danger and dark moments surrounded them. They had to fight for what they had, and to stay alive to see tomorrow together. The writing of this book was phenomenal!
I was very much impressed with the technique and quality of this amazing author’s writing. They knew how to wrap the story with sexiness’, suspense, tender as well as dark moments, drama, romance, and so much more! The book truly delivered and then some! I could not have asked for more, sipping my wine and as I read I was completely involved in the story and the characters. I was truly hooked and enjoyed every moment of this book leading to the end. Loved it! Defiantly a must read book as well author!

While reading this book, my teacher brain was coming up with so many ideas on how to utilize this book in my classroom. I loved that the story was fictional, but that the author also included some many truthful and accurate learning opportunities with marine life. I loved the definitions and pictures that were listed at the end. I usually only leave reviews for the books that I read personally for myself, but when I came across this book I just had to read it! I will be recommending this book to my teacher friends, and hopefully soon will be reading it with my students.
Cursed Luck by AJ Renee is the fifth book in the Broderick Coven series. This series is centered around the Broderick family. The siblings have discovered that they come from a family of witches and that they all have powers. Each book centers around a sibling as that sibling learns more about their powers. This book is about Edward Broderick. He has the gift of sensing what others need or what will help them the best. He tries to help Mia with her flower shop and only manages to come across as rude and condescending. Will Edward be able to help her and help them both as they realize they have feelings for each other? Find out in another awesome book by AJ Renee!

I love this book. It has all of the elements to captivate the reader right from the start. Rowan is on a path of life that is disrupted. Now we get to see generations and legacies challenged. Oh what decision to make!!!! Then the book leaves you at a cliff hanger and I can’t wait for book 2. Characters are very developed and real. Location is real and you can see it clearly in your mind.

I have been reading this series for quite some time now, and as always I am always nose deep win the book, loving every minute of these amazing novels. This one was just as good as the rest. I bonded with the characters as usual and was so easy to do so. This one was different, and my curiosities were certainly met!
In this wonderful addition we followed, we had the character from other additions named Edward. He was mentioned in others so it was nice to see his story come to light. I loved the chemistry he had with whom was his match, named Mia. She had powers and was very much passionate with her flowers. Her and Edward meet and sparks fly, and the passion and pull towards one another was undeniable. I loved that in this book, as I loved in all the other book additions. The author always brings the characters to life so well that you feel you are right there with them, and pulling for the fates to allow them to be together!
Something I enjoyed specifically to this book, was that Edward was a character who seemed against love, and Mia rocks his world. There was some bicker and quarrel, and finding some common ground. It was not all a world changing romance. It was one where differences had to be put aside to embrace their destiny of what was really meant to be. The plot was easy to read and get sucked into, and was a happy and enjoyable read. I expect nothing less from this amazing author and always, loved their writing!
Again, this series always makes me feel so very happy when I read the book installments. Th way the author writes, is so wonderful, they know how to capture the reader’s attention and keep them interested and wonder where the plot will lead to next! As always, highly recommend this author and this book/series!

Book 5 in this series does not disappoint! I have been curious about Edward’s character for this whole series, and we finally get to know him a bit. He’s been a very mysterious, little mentioned part of the Broderick family. Like in the other books in this series, love strikes hard and fast, leaving the pair with such strong feelings that they cannot ignore. Cursed Luck has a similar arc to the other stories in this series, so if you liked the others, you’ll love this one.

I enjoyed this paranormal romance story. This is the fifth book in this series that is just as enjoyable as the previous books. I highly suggest reading the previous books as you will enjoy them as well. This author is great at her attention to details to make her books engaging and give them a realistic feel. This book is no different. The characters pull you into the story from the beginning and keep you engaged to the end. This is a fast paced romance story that is not only hard to put down but is brought to life on each page. I enjoyed how the characters are relatable and made me want to know what happened next. Their chemistry and growth throughout the story just add to the plot which made it a fun and entertaining read. This is a really great story by a great author that I have enjoyed from the first book I picked up. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I did not read the first two stories in this series yet, but they are absolutely on my TBR list after reading this one! The story starts with a lottery win at the best possible time for the ‘family.’ It then goes into Amelia revealing to ‘us’ that she has been in love with Teague for many years. The whole beginning of the book is her heart and her brain arguing over the correct course of action. What do you do when you’re in love with your brother’s best friend – whom you grew up with – especially when he treats you like his very own little sister? You suck it up until everyone around you tells you what you need to hear – GO FOR IT. Teague’s side of the story really isn’t all that different. He wants her, he’s infatuated with her, but he is terrified of ruining his relationship with his best friend. Essentially, the two give in to their feelings and attempt to date in secret. Secrets that big never stay secrets for long – especially when you’re constantly around the person/people you’re attempting to keep it from. After everything that they have both been through in their pasts, it was heartwarming to see their love flourish and know that they got the happy ending that they both deserved. I will definitely be going back to read the first two (as I am extremely curious about the other couples), and I recommend you do the same! They’re sweet stories, easy to read in one or two sittings, and the characters are so easily lovable. Christi did an amazing job creating this world and these people. I look forward to reading more from her!

The first book pulls you in, and the second makes you never want to get off this journey with Vanessa. It seamlessly picks up where the first book leaves off akin to gift wrapping a perfect gift that was the first book. So now Vanessa is dead, stuck in the underworld with Grey who she has already deemed insufferable as if she wants to be there too. But alas it was a must for him to save her from the gold dusted arrow Aroz fired at her. She does make some new friends and the one that caps off this stellar book is Gorgonita, she is just awesome and sooo hilarious. I especially love how we see a new side to the chemistry between Grey and Vanessa. The character development and world building in Hazel’s writing is absolutely superb and if I keep discussing the book, I might give something away. That is the last thing I want to do to anyone because these books are just so dang good. If you haven’t read the first book “The Don,” do that as quickly as possible and if you have, I don’t know why you’re wasting time reading reviews just get the book and have fun devouring it!

I was completely ensnared by this novel, that the pages seemed to race by and next thing I knew it was over and I was looking for the second book. I am a sucker for books about the Greek gods and this one did not disappoint. Vanessa is your typical squeaky clean good girl that in the grand scheme of things just wants for her brother to beat cancer. However, thanks to her less than stellar neighbor, who is bound for Tartarus one day, she comes face to face with Grey. Grey is the Don of the underworld and the only God that can negotiate deals after the initial deal of a soul. Things go awry when she also meets Raef, his brother, and Aroz who is on a mission to ruin her with a cursed arrow. The Bastard Prince: a royal romance with humour and suspense, is book two in the It’s Raining Royals series by Alix Nichols. What a creative and thrilling continuation of a really clever and funny series. Alix Nichols delivers another hit with dramatic characters with a big wow factor. Full of suspense, action, passion and banter, The Bastard Prince is a definite one sitting read. Engaging with Sasha and Arnaud was effortless and extremely entertaining. With many jaw dropping moments, edge of your seat anticipation and a hunger for more, this story was difficult to put down. There was a feisty chemistry between the couple that was endearing as well as assertive. Again, Alix Nichols dazzles the reader with talent and addictive characters and stories. 4 stars.
Tenacious is the sixth book in this titillating Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. This Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance story is steaming to the point of boiling and has left me wanting more. I have loved the other books in the series, but I think Via has outdone herself with this instalment. I always know I am in safe hands when I get one of Via’s books because her imagination knows no bounds and always gives us a story that has everything needed to make it explode of the page. It is only by sheer willpower that I refrained from turning each page quickly to get to find out what was in store.
Tenacious is indeed the right name for this book where these bodyguards are full of sexiness and alphaness that makes you want to hang on and enjoy the ride and what a ride. With plenty of action and adventure, lots of danger and mystery, buckets full of intrigue and drama, sex trafficking and bad guys, and woohoo, the chemistry and I am not talking about the type in a lab, you find yourself in need of a good stiff drink.
Emotions run rampant as we discover the subtleties that Via has hidden amongst her narrative over the course of the series and just what is in store for us next is anyone’s guess and that is just what I like about her work. Bring it on!

In true Tricia style her narrative takes you to the heart of the story through your imagination. It is rich in detail and lets your imagination make it into its own realisation. There is so much that makes this a wonderful yet complex story with all the right ingredients such as magic and mystery. Witches and vampires. The danger and drama are palpable, and the suspense keeps you wanting to skim each page to find out what is in store.

The Boss Prince: a royal romance with humour and suspense, is book one in the It’s Raining Royals series by Alix Nichols. This new to me author had a very easy and well laid out writing style, which was funny, light and a fantastic romantic comedy. Her characters were a delight to read about and the escapades were cleverly set and brilliantly delivered. Steamy rendezvous and laugh until it hurts humour is in abundance in this story. It was just a really light read that was a thrill a minute. A tantalising beginning to a series I know that I will easily escape into. 4 stars.

As they slowly wake up and come to the realisation that their predicament is worse than just waking up with a hangover, their captor comes to inform them of the crimes they have permitted and the sentence that they carry, the penalty of death, however, when Rowan reveals their identities, they are moved into more suitable accommodation and invited to join the clan leader and his brother for dinner later on that evening.
It is during the conversation that Rowan learns that the women here are to be seen and not heard and when she agrees to have her future decided by a Summit of the Clans, she makes the case that they should be lenient with her cousin as he is her guard and not actually high in the ranking of their society, they agree, but on the principle that she behaves like a proper Socarian princess would. The only point which rankles Rowan is that she will not be able to create and read a statement of reasoning for what she did and put it before the Summit herself, only a male and one of the ruling party of a Clan can do that, much to her disappointment.
As they leave for the Summit, Rowan reluctantly leaves her cousin behind at the palace where they were being held, at least she knows that one of them will return to their family and tell them the truth of what happened so that they can get closure whatever the decision of the Summit may be. Davin is not in the least happy about the situation and wishes that he could go with her like always and watch her back, however, Rowan insists on it and he acquiesces in the end. As they travel, Rowan gets to know her captors and their family more, as well as the customs, rules and laws which she will have to obey on her journey, however, as she does this, something changes between her and her captor.
Will Rowan be able to face the Summit and take their decision and see it through, what will their decision be and how will it affect her and her captor, will they have to fight for a future they want, or will it become too much of a barrier to them? This is a historical romance with rivalry, hierarchical challenges and family feuds galore which will pull you along as the story progresses as you fight for their future along with them.

It is the year 1883 and Emma Evans is getting ready for work while she reminisces about some of the cases she has worked in the last year as an amateur sleuth, as she checks that she has everything and looking at her split skirt, specifically designed so she can cycle around Chicago with ease, she thinks about the events which started her on this path in life. From the happy occasion of her sister getting married to the opposite of when she was attacked, she looks through the old notebooks she has written her case notes in and how they changed her life forever, as well as those around her.
This included finding out that her Mama was involved in a couple of the cases she was looking at, thefts and smuggling operations mainly and that someone she worked with was also the head of a criminal organisation with fingers in many pies in the city and she stopped some of them in their tracks, this made her a target, but they weren’t the only ones, she also witnessed an attack, which when she tried to stop it, was when she was attacked herself, but later on the culprit returned to try again, however, only succeeded up getting caught and sent down for their crimes. This did lead to Emma helping a local charitable organisation and making a friend for life in the process, while helping them to remain anonymous at the same time.
In the present day, Emma has a job agency after finishing her degree in Business School and is helping other to gain the same qualifications and jobs, as well as being a courier and typist during the day, as well as investigating multiple cases and bringing more specialists onto the team. These include a photographer and a master of disguise whom all extend her original team and help to bring her the professional recognition she deserves, however, her personal life is not as easy, she is struggling to define her feelings for two men she is close to and trying to work out if her past and present are going to collide and rip the team apart at the seams. This is a cozy mystery with clean romantic elements within where tangled threads are smoothed out, secrets revealed and crimes solved with a dash of humour and self discovery thrown in for good measure which will keep you hooked throughout.
Ciaran Donnelley and Caitlin O’Connell are back a year after Ciaran woke up from his entombment and the pair are in Ireland to visit the archaeological dig and try to get some of Ciaran’s memory back as part of his recovery from the amnesia he is using as a cover story, however, nothing is how it used to be and Ciaran is feeling homesick, even though he is home. As they drive through the countryside, Caitlin is suggesting places to visit to try and jog his memory, but all she is really doing is annoying Ciaran who just wants to deal with his feelings and how the changes he is seeing that happened between the fifth and twentieth centuries have altered the country.
After a couple of hours driving and awkward silences, Ciaran asks if they can go to Dublin and see the last monk they have on display there, although he can’t tell Caitlin that it is his brother Aodhan as yet, he says that it will help him when he gets to the dig, she reluctantly agrees, even though it is hours out of their way. Once they get to the museum and they go and see Aodhan, they also run into a couple of colleagues of Caitlin’s who she introduces to Ciaran, he asks if they can take a closer look at he exhibit before they leave and his request is granted, but mainly only because of Catlin’s presence there. The face that Ciaran cannot spend as much time as he wanted there, frustrates him and the drive to the dig site is silent and full of tension and this lasts until they get to the rooms which have been prepared for them in the B&B where everyone is staying.
The awkwardness only lasts until the next day when Ciaran has been out for a walk in the local countryside to clear his head and look for the sacred grove the priesthood used to use for their worship and rituals, however, he instead finds some young children who live in the area who tell him about a find of their brothers, which turns out to be his dead wife’s ring. Ciaran is determined to find her and suggests looking in the lake to the dig team and the professor leading it, however, all does not go to plan and more mishaps and a mystery serial killer moving into the area lead to his carefully crafted secret is revealed, but will Ciaran be able to free his brother from his endless sleep and stop the serial killer the only way he knows how to and will he be able to find the fabled Book of Carraig in order for this to happen? This is a paranormal adventure which will keep you on the edge of you seat throughout and the twists and turns will keep you guessing what happens until right at the end.

We end this epic trilogy by Victoria Saccenti with Kailen and Talaith. Enraptured with book 3 from start to finish I loved every moment and was very appreciative of how the stories were all woven together. This book provided so much emotion and dramatic suspense as the characters overcome many perils to be together. Kailen is a tormented man who believes he is destined to never love again after his tragic loss of his first mate. The tragedy leaves his heart hardened and closed off until he encounters Talaith. The connection is instant, and Kailen does everything he can to fight the feeling. Talaith has an enthralling attraction to Kailen, but is dismayed by the push and pull between them. As they unite to defeat the daemon horde it brings them closer together and Kailen must determine if he can overcome his fear to have love once more. This story was beautifully written, and these 2 are by far my favorite characters.
