On His Terms by Madison Quinn – Review By Maura Harper

On His Terms (The Arrangement Duet Book 1)On His Terms by Madison Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ON HIS TERMS is one of those books that was a little different than I expected it to be. Based on the intro, I thought it was going to be much darker.

This story reminded me a little bit of 50 Shades. It was enjoyable, a bit predictable, and a bit suspenseful. I appreciated that it is dual POV and we can see what both M/m are thinking.

I am looking forward to book 2.

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn. This is a new to me author and i am so glad that i found her!!!! This book definitely had me wanting and needing the next page from the beginning. This was possibly one of the best contemporary romances books that I have read!!! Both Nicholas and Kenzie have their own separate issues but together they are epic. Their characters have so much chemistry that you will not want to put this book down until you get to the end!!!

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn is made up of “On His Terms” (Book #1) and “On Her Terms” (Book #2). I have read all of Ms. Quinn’s other books, so I knew that I would enjoy this one too. But I more than enjoyed it- I loved it!! This duet is definitely my favourite of hers, so far. The story really hooked me right from the beginning, and the characters were so easy to invest in- the times I had to put the book down to return to the ‘real’ world was spent thinking about what was happening in the story and how quickly I could wrap up what I was doing and dive back into the book. I loved not having to wait between books, being able to flow right from one and into the next was a real bonus, because the way things ended in book one, I really needed to know what happened next!
Kenzie and Nicholas are two damaged individuals who are both carrying a heavy load of pain from their pasts. Both have major trust issues and both are quite guarded. He is a billionaire, and she works two jobs just to make ends meet. He desperately needs some help with a PR nightmare. And she really needs a way to make a better life for herself. So, when a unique opportunity presents itself which will address his PR problem and allow Kenzie to earn way more than she is presently- they both jump at the chance. And so the arrangement begins….
Kenzie and Nicholas are such complex characters- wounded souls who had endured so much. I really felt for them both- hearing what they’d been through was heartbreaking. I was so invested in them- rooting for them the whole way through. Yes, there were times they frustrated me and I wanted to shake some sense into them, but I understood why they were like that at times, because of their pasts.
The story is told from a duel point of view, which I really loved because I knew exactly what each character was thinking, their motivations behind their thoughts and actions, and gave me a better understanding of them and of what was going on.
The story is angsty, dramatic, intense and captivating. Ms. Quinn builds the tension brilliantly- keeping me hooked the entire way through. The flashbacks that were added to the story really helped to build the backstory, and gave us the insight into what our MC’s had been through. There were some harrowing and disturbing revelations- leaving me quite heartbroken for what they’d endured. There is violence, abuse, pain, and nightmares which may cause distress for some readers.
I love the bit of mystery woven into the storyline- wondering if there is something more to the whole situation, some plotting and hidden agendas, or whether it’s all just coincidental. By the end of book one, the suspense was killing me- but only proceeded to ramp up a few notches in book two. I had a few minor issues as there were a few errors, especially in book two, where there were wrong words, or missing words- and a few other inconsistencies… but they didn’t detract too much from my overall enjoyment of the story.
I really enjoyed this duet, it was a wonderful mixture of passion, romance, danger and suspense.
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Quinn does next!

Thank you, Ms. Quinn!

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn

5-Stars

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn is an excellent collection of wonderfully written novels. The author does a magnificent job with her characters and their development. I felt that they were very easy to relate to and picture. The storyline was easy to follow and engaging. I was entertained by the events and character interaction included in it. I absolutely loved Kenzie in this series and I found it easy for myself to relate to her. I hated the trauma she had been through at the start but really felt it provided depth to her character. If you have not read anything from this author before I highly recommend reading this set. You will not regret it. I thoroughly enjoyed these books and look forward to reading more from her in the future.

The Arrangement Duet Box set by Madison Quinn had so much happen throughout the two books, a lot more than I was expecting that’s for sure. I found myself stealing a few minutes here and there just to see what happens next.

Kenzie is my hero, she went through so much as a child and it didnt stop when she became an adult. She fought so hard to change her course in life and she did an amazing job doing that.

Nicholas also had a rough start in life but he got lucky at a much younger age then Kenzie, but his past continued to haunt him in his dreams. But as a hot single Billionaire he has a pretty good life.

I really enjoyed this book, it kept me guessing the entire time. I do wish there had been a resolution regarding both of their childhoods, just felt like there were a few loose ends.

I would absolutely read this duet of books again though I wouldn’t read them back to back or so quickly just so I could savor everything.

This duet is made up of two very good installments which I was hooked on from the very beginning. The main characters are from two different worlds. They couldn’t be more different if the author tried. Kenzie Rose and Nicholas Parker met one night while Kenzie is on a break going to get a coffee. She works 2 jobs and has little to no time to sleep. She has a studio apartment in a really bad area and takes the subway wherever she goes. When a friend / client named Bridget she is a personal shopper for offers her a chance to make more money, while being safe and not doing anything illegal she gives it a shot.
Nicholas Parker is a billionaire playboy who is with a different woman at every social event he goes to. The same woman is never spotted on his arm twice. When his business is in jeopardy because of his personal life, he must do something to rectify it. That is when he decides to give it a shot with Bridget. The last person he expects to be his escort is none other then the woman he can’t get out of his head…the woman who him and Carter soaked that night all those mo the ago.

In the second installment things go a littler further between Kenzie and Nicholas. Both of them have a past they isn’t picture perfect but they must move on. Will they be able to move on together? Will they be able to save PFS? This duet will have you hooked from the very beginning. Kenzie is such a strong character. Nicholas couldn’t have found anyone better to help with his image

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn was easily one of my favorite books this year. I couldn’t put it down. I literally lost sleep over this book willing my eyes to stay open so I could finish. Not only did I love the characters but the writing was so good. I loved the whole arrangement. I loved Nicholas’ protectiveness of Kenzie. And I loved the fact that Kenzie was a strong woman who could leave a terrible situation. I literally don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil anything. But I was really happy with the ending. I kind of hope there will be another one. Just because I’m like that. 5 stars!!!

What can I tell you about this duet that won’t spoil how these two books will take you on a ride and leave you wanting more from this world? Madison Quinn has written a duet that gives you every feel that you love about a fake relationship/business arrangement with a twist of suspense. There was so much amazing chemistry between Nicholas and Kenzie that you get so invested into their story, the next thing you know its 2 am and you just want one more chapter. Even the secondary characters are so well written that you want to know more about them and what’s going on in their lives besides Nicholas and Kenzie.

If you are looking for your next book that has you curling up on the couch and losing yourself into a great love story, then I highly recommended you read this duet.

This is a wonderful story. It drew me in at the beginning and didn’t let go! I think I read it in a couple days. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Then I started the second book and WOW things went a bit crazy for a while. Even though Nichols lives in a different world I am shocked at what they can do when money is no object. Luckily Kenzie is down to earth and remains that way. I loved all the sweet gestures he does for her and how she staunchly tries to refuse gifts from him.

While I love the slowness and tension building in they story it is a bit too long. Listening to the characters berate themselves over and over for certain situations is getting old. I understand they both had traumatic lives and learning to trust is difficult. But once that path is started rehashing for each new circumstance that comes up….I hate to say it but I start to lose Interest.

That being said I actually loved it when the action finally picked up in Book 2 and the story moved to the conclusion. So many questions were answered.

This is a good story despite it being overly long. I enjoyed all the characters and it was easy to connect with and care about them. I do want to mention that the prologue in Book 1 just about killed me. Great start!

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Arrangement Duet Box SetThe Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn contains the 2 full novels ‘On His Terms’ and ‘On Her Terms’. I was already a fan of Madison Quinn having read, and loved, her 2 Dark Water Security books: Luke and Garrett. I had high hopes before reading this duet and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I absolutely loved this duet.
Billionaire Nicholas Parker has been burned by a previous girlfriend and does not want to get into another relationship. When his business becomes under threat due to his lack of a steady relationship he enters into an agreement with Kenzie Rose for her to play the part of his loving girlfriend. Kenzie’s previous relationship ended badly as her fiancé regularly abused her, on occasion leaving her close to death. The arrangement with Nicholas would be perfect for her as it would allow her to finish her degree and move out of the hell hole apartment she was staying in.
I adored both Kenzie and Nicholas. Both of them are so broken in different ways. The slow burning, simmering attraction between the 2 of them is so angst filled. You just can’t help rooting for this couple to give into the growing feelings they have for each other and have a HEA. Madison Quinn has a knack for writing amazing characters that you can relate to. Not just the main characters but also the secondary characters play a valuable role in adding to the great storyline.
If I could give this Duet more than 5 stars then I would do so. Amazing!!
