My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hope Anika is a new author for me and I read this book in less than 6 hours. I absolutely couldn’t put it down. From the first word to the last I was hooked. Loved Loved Loved It.
This book is about Winny and Beau, and the trials and tribulations life throws at you. There’s heartbreak, incredible circumstances, real monsters that are actually in this world, forgiveness, love and all around terror. I couldn’t stop reading. I cannot wait to read more from Hope Anika. If you like amazingly created characters, a wonderful plot, and hope during terror this is the book for you.

SerenadeSerenade by T.K. Lawyer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first book by TK Lawyer, I knew I wanted to read it as soon as I saw there was a witch involved. I’m a sucker for a witch, and I’m not ashamed about it. This romantic book had me from the beginning. I had a hard time putting it down. Eva is by far one of my favorite characters and was wonderfully developed. Kingsley had me wishing I was more of a dog person, (haha) and I love how these two interact. Absolutely a must read for my paranormal readers out there and even those that don’t read this genre much. I can’t wait to read the next book and see where TK Lawyer goes with it. Will it be more Eva and Kingsley or other fantastic characters in this book? I’ll be ready!

Hail Mary by Hope Anika – Review by Karyn Taylor

Hail MaryHail Mary by Hope Anika
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hail Mary is a fantastic romantic thriller by Hope Anika. I had never read any of this author’s work before this book and I’m so glad that I chose to read it as it’s worth more than 5 stars in my humble opinion.
The 2 main characters are absolutely brilliant. Wynn has had a rough upbringing and now runs a farm and a rundown boarding house. She’s one feisty woman I’d definitely not want to get on the wrong side of. She takes no prisoners and will fight to the death for those she loves. Beau is the new sheriff in town. A job he didn’t really want but was pushed into by his aunt. Beau is ex-military and DEA and has a lot of baggage from his past. He was badly injured and his wife was killed by someone Beau was investigating while working at the DEA. He’s moody, arrogant and a woman is the last thing on his mind. That is until a bank robbery leads him to Wynn’s boarding house and then a serial killer from the past comes back. So much for an easy job being a sheriff in a small town!
The interaction between Wynn and Beau are actually hilarious. She does nothing to hide her distrust for the law and he gives back as good as he gets.
What is fantastic about this book is the plot. The suspense and intrigue grabs you and does not let you go. At times you hold your breath and have to remind yourself to breathe again. Just when you start to think you might have it sussed out, the story twists and you find it going in a different direction. I have to say that I would never have sussed out who was the killer.
You really have to give this book a try. It will not disappoint.

This was a fantastic read! I love a good romantic suspense story and I have read books by this author before so when I saw this one I knew I had to grab it! Once I started the first page I knew it was going to be a good read and I was not wrong – I was hooked from the very first page until the end. I loved Beau and Wynn – they were both fantastic characters. I really felt for Beau and the author did a great job with his character, he was miserable and grumpy on the outside but underneath was something different. Wynn was great to read about – she was headstrong and full of sass! She was so entertaining. The tension between the two characters was so much fun to read about and it made me want them to end up together all the more! Along with Beau and Wynn there were some amazing secondary characters that really added something extra to the story.
I 100% recommend Hail Mary and I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future!

Marked for Death (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 6) by Amy McKinley – Review by Katie Matthews

Marked for Death (Gray Ghost #6)Marked for Death by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think I probably say it every time that I read a new book by this author but this is definitely my favourite by her so far! I was hooked from beginning to end and I honestly could not turn the pages fast enough! The action starts straight away in this fantastic romantic suspense story! I loved the characters Keegan and Kara! The sparks between these two as well as the danger and action unfolding in their surroundings of Venezuela made for one very exciting read!
Marked for Death could be read as a standalone but I absolutely would recommend reading the series in order just to fully understand the dynamics of the secondary characters. Apart from the amazing characters this author creates I just totally love her writing, it’s exciting and captivates me from the first word. I would 100% recommend Marked for Death and anything written by this wonderful author!

A wolf without a partner and a witch who isn’t on the prowl.
Kingsley gave up on meeting the love of his life when his life was turned upside down by Eva who has a mystery for him to solve except he doesn’t know how.
Eva has an infectious laugh, scrumptious curves, and a smell that simply undoes him.
Eva gave up on men a long time ago but there’s something about Kingsley that makes him different. He’s determined, motivated, loving, and unlike any other man she’s dealt with before.
Eva is a precarious one. . .
In this opposites attract story, the two are drawn to one another. This book will have you on the edge of your seat as we follow this unique fuel turns to seduction. Beautifully written and a journey to go on with the writer through the reader’s perspective. I loved this one start to finish!

Marked for Death (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 6) by Amy McKinley – Review by Karyn Taylor

Marked for Death (Gray Ghost #6)Marked for Death by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Marked for Death is the 6th (and possibly last…sob sob) book in the brilliant Gray Ghost series by Amy McKinley. This has become one of my favourite book series’ ever and Marked for Death is another excellent book to add to the series. Like all the others in this series this book gripped me from the very beginning and left a very tight grip until the very end. Amy McKinley sure knows how to write a romantic thriller.
In this book the Gray Ghost guys travel to Caracas to rescue four Americans. What they assume will be an easy rescue turns out to be anything but. In the attempt, one of the operatives Keegan Hunt comes face to face with Kara Medina, a beautiful operative from his past life in Caracas that he’s tried to forget. What transpires is a fantastic story filled with danger, tension, suspense and a bit of romance.
The story line flows really well and is action packed. You will be gripped from the very beginning and taken on a fantastic journey that will bring out every emotion and have you gasp in amazement or horror when McKinley throws in a curveball that you do not see coming.
I also loved that we got to see the other couples from previous book as all have a role to play in the Gray Ghost company. I’m sad that this series is likely over but I’m sure that the little taster McKinley gave us in the novella Moonlit Mirage is the start of another fascinating series by her that I’ll devour just as much as this one.

“A wolf without a mate. A witch who doesn’t date.”
“…witches and wolves don’t mix. Or do they?”

Serenade by T.K Lawyer is a great paranormal romance. I love everything paranormal, with witches and shifters right there at the top. So, when this book popped up on my recommended book feed, I knew I had to read it. It is a little different from other paranormal/shifter stories that I have read- and has its own unique identity. It was intriguing and entertaining- and I enjoyed the story.
Kingsley is a wolf shifter, who had given up hope of ever finding his fated mate- until he meets Eva. Everything about her calls to him- he is drawn to her like a magnet.
Eva is a powerful witch, who has trust issues and a fear of losing control of her powers. She doesn’t date, but can’t help but notice the connection she has to Kingsley. Too bad she can’t trust men. Or can she?
Will this Arctic Wolf and the alluring Witch find love, or do they discover that wolves and witches definitely don’t mix? You really should read the story and discover the answer for yourself.
I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from T.K Lawyer in the future.

Thank you, T.K Lawyer!

Marked for Death (A Gray Ghost Novel, Book 6) by Amy McKinley – Review by Angela Hayes

Marked for Death (Gray Ghost #6)Marked for Death by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Marked For Death is the sixth exciting instalment in the Gray Ghosts series by Amy McKinley. Once again, Ms. McKinley has upped the ante with this story. The series continues to get better and better with each new release. This is everything I expected, and more- a wonderfully exciting romantic suspense, with special ops military action, violence, danger, drama, intrigue, emotion, twists, romance, mystery, and adventure.
This book could be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the first five books so you have all the backstories for all the characters, background information, and other important details- as that will greatly enhance your reading experience here. Not to mention the other five books are really fantastic stories in their own rights! I always say, you really can’t go wrong with Ms. McKinley at the helm!
There’s a very good reason why Keegan Hunt has avoided Venezuela for the past 15 years. But with a lot at stake, this latest mission sees him risking his cover by returning. The operation throws up unexpected complications, especially in the form of Kara Medina- with whom he has a bit of a complicated history. The mission goes awry and Kara might be the key to solving their problem. But at what cost?
Another ‘edge of your seat’, engrossing and gripping read- with all the intensity, sparks, chemistry, tension, and dramatic developments I have come to expect from Ms. McKinley!
Fantastic!

Thank you, Ms. McKinley

SerenadeSerenade by T.K. Lawyer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Serenade by T.K Lawyer, 4 stars.

This is a steamy Paranormal Romance with a wolf shifter and a human who has no idea the supernatural even exists. Kingsley knows right away that Eva is his, but now he will have to convince her, and he will do anything to prove it. But how will she react when he tells her the truth? Eva gave up on dating, but meeting Kingsley give her second thoughts. Should she give him a chance? Why does it feel like he is hiding something?

An entertaining supernatural romance, this has elements of romance, suspense, and some fun thrown into the mix. The characters are real and fun, I would love to see more of them. Even though Eva isn’t sure what she believes, she steps up for those she cares for when the time is needed. It is a story of whether or not these two, who seem to be fated, can dance to the song of romance and become one. But it is not a simple one. It takes love and trust, and we see just how much each one has.

If you are a fan of supernatural romance, you will enjoy this book.

Hail Mary by Hope Anika. This was a great book! Its the story of Wynn Owens who is a strong, independent, take no crap woman. She is a ex con, trying to be a respectable citizen and being a decent landlord. When one of her elderly residents is questioned in a recent bank robbery she meets ex DEA agent turned Sheriff Beau Greystone who comes snooping around. She has nothing nice to say to him but she does think he’s hot! Beau is still trying to put his life back together after a horrible explosion murdered his wife and left him with a bad injury. He’s not supposed to think a woman is sexy but he does. The sparks are obvious but they are both hard headed enough to not do anything about it. Beau has been checked out for the most part since the murder but trying to solve this robbery might be the thing to get him back in the game and on top of that there is a killer that is back in Blossom Hill. Will he catch the killer before another murder happens and will Beau and Wynn let go of their pasts long enough to see if they have real feelings for each other? What another brilliant read brought to this already amazing series! Each hook seems to be getting more and more interesting and captivating as we go along! Amy McKinley has a brilliant way of creating amazing storylines that really bring the story to life. It’s a mentally visual read that really makes you believe you are there alongside the characters. This read has action, adventure, danger, suspense & romance. It has amazing chemistry between two characters that you hope to get a HEA. Each time we are brought a story from Amy McKinley we get to follow a character we have previously met in another one of these books, this time we follow the team as they head to a place where member Keegan really doesn’t want to go but what happens when he comes face to face with that reason?! I can’t wait to see who’s story we get to follow next.

I LOVED this book! The storyline is so good! I didn’t want to put this one down! It’s smooth and flows along very effortlessly. Then there are the wonderful characters. The author is able to bring these characters to life with words. I could picture them and what they were doing easily. It is such a delight!

I enjoyed seeing a “tells it’s like it is” woman. She is strong self-assured and knows that she can do things herself. Then we meet the cantankerous sheriff. He has pain hidden deep and would like nothing more than to fade into the woodwork. But once he gets threatened with a wrench, from a “little spitfire”, he starts to wonder about his life. That’s when the fun starts. The tension between these two is just rolling off the pages! Their antics are like watching a movie in my head! Then there is the back and forth angry, desperate conversations. I can’t help but enjoy reading those. How she challenges him and how he frustrates her.

All of the secondary characters (and there is a lot) are delightful as well. They all add to the story. I loved each of their issues and how they tried to deal with them. My favorite thing was the tenants of the boarding house were mostly elderly. They All have interesting personas and reasons for being there.

This is a suspenseful story with a side of romance. I really enjoyed reading this and I highly recommend.

Wow talk about action and suspense?! This one has it in spades! Turning from one page to the next I never knew what would happen next to this crew. That makes for an exciting read. As I said the story is explosive. The characters have skills and do thing I could or would never dream of doing. They all have troubled pasts that come back to haunt them. Keegan’s seemed just terrible. Somehow he was able to overcome and become better. His long time love Kara shows up and catches him off guard. From there they are busy bodies working two different cases to the same end.
Over all this is extremely action packed and I feel it’s a good addition to the series.

Marked for Death by Amy McKinley a five-star read that shows the true mark. This is number six in the Gray Ghost series and each one goes from strength to strength, Keegan Hunt steps up to the plate this time and brings Caraccas to life. You can feel the heat and danger to this story, you can feel the romance and become part of the story as its so well written. As always, this author keeps the action levels so high that you can’t put it down. This could be read as stand-alone, but I adore the series and have enjoyed reading them all, but I am left all a float wondering if there will be a lucky number seven.

Serenade by T.K. Lawyer a unique four-star read. I enjoyed this story, it wasn’t the usual story that we get when reading about wolf shifters, this had a great spin to it and made a great story. I love taking a chance on a new to me author and this one definitely is one I will be looking for again as I enjoyed this one overall, I did feel that it could have been a little more polished at times, but overall very good. Eva was such a compassionate character, she makes you warm to her, and Kingsley pulled me into him, there was just something special about him. I can only hope to grab something else from this author to see what will come next.

Hail Mary kept me enthralled until the very end. It s the first book that I have read from this author and definitely won’t be the last. Hope Anika is an excellent writer who can easily weave multiple plots into one captivating story. Filled with mystery, romance and characters you’ll fall in love with, this is a romantic thriller that you don’t want to miss.

Wynn is a snarky, independent woman who, given her past, doesn’t trust anyone. She owns a farm with a boarding house. Her tenants are all elderly and she cares for them as if they were family. Trying to keep her head above water, she cares for them the best that she can.

Beau is a former DEA agent. After getting seriously injured and losing his wife, he returns to the county and becomes the new sheriff. Realizing that the bank was robbed by one of Wynn’s tenants, he meets the headstrong and beautiful woman. Sparks fly and the chemistry is electric. Meanwhile a serial killer strikes again and shoots fear into the hearts of the people. Beau has his plate full all while trying to battle his demons.

The author managed to keep me guessing until the end. It’s not often that I can’t figure out who done it. The story captivated me with its unique characters, suspense and humour. I definitely recommend this book.

Let me catch my breath. This book had me on the edge of my seat, standing up, yelling at the kindle and totally shocked at times. If you want a good read that gets your mind going this would be a good one. Hope Anika has created a story that gets your adrenaline going. The characters are complex and engaging. The plot line twists and turns like a roller coaster, not to mention that the action is great. There is a bank robbery that small town sheriff Beau has to catch the robbers. Enter in Wynn who has her past with law enforcement, on the wrong side but hey that makes her character work. Let’s throw in a murder into the mix and the small time is needing answers. I highly recommend this book. You will have to see what Beau and Wynn find out about what the heck is going on.

TK Lawyer has done it again. Serenade is a paranormal love story that keeps you wondering what will happen next. I find stories about wolves interesting because they look for their mate and will remain alone if they can not find him/her. This story is about Kingsley (a wolf) and Eva (a witch) who gave up finding their soulmate until they found each other. The problem is that wolves and witches do not mix well. Can Kingsley and Eva move beyond the barriers and have a relationship? Is there hope for Kingsley and Eva? I highly suggest this book and I cannot wait to see what TK Lawyer will come up with next.

There are ups and downs, twists and turns, and even some loopsy loops. The characters are fully developed. There are many layers to the characters. This story is about Keegan and Kara. Keegan, a former Navy Seal, is hired to rescue Americans from Venezuela. He has history in Venezuela that he did not want his cover blown and not to mention a woman. Kara is hired to recover insect-size robots. When Keegan and Kara paths cross what will happen? Will their missions be successful? I highly recommend this book. This book reminds me of those 80s Jean Claude Van Damme movies. I used to love watching them but now I enjoy reading these action-packed thrillers.
I love that it starts off with suspense as you meet former Navy SEAL Keegan Hunt who has been avoiding Venezuela for 15 long years. The team has to rescue four Americans he’s about to blow his cover as he knows it to return to Caracas.
Kara Medina, Keegan’s nemesis, ambushes his mission to recover insect-sized robots as the battle begins with the special ops team. She soon realizes that Keegan resembles someone from her past who saved her from a dangerous camp. Unable to keep her concentration, the mission went haywire, she realizes she has an attraction to him no matter how much time has passed. Though this is complicated on a higher level, she’s keeping her eyes on the prize.
As the team’s priorities shift, Keegan turns to Kara to succeed. As American politicians’ stakes escalate and goals intertwine, Keegan doesn’t want to leave Kara at all costs even if it sacrifices himself for the love of her.

You’ll love to pick up this one if not for the action alone but the fact that it seems like a modern Western to me which makes this book an instant classic. At least in my humble opinion.
Wynn Owens is a sarcastic ex-convict turned good or decent landlord. She gets vibes from one of her older tenants that he’s had something to do with robberies in the past.
Sheriff Beau Greystone put his foot in his mouth as he has his imposing aunt to thank for his new position as sheriff. Beau’s wife recently passed but it’s also wounded not only his body but his heart as well. With all of that afloat, he’s checked out of the physical world and into his own world in his mind. The community of Blossom Hills needs him to step up as their sheriff and Beau is up to capture the robber — until a cold case killer has to be captured first to restore peace in the community.
Beau and Wynn’s lives collide as she’s acquit a tenant and he’s about to capture a killer on the loose. Their world as they know it is about to be turned upside down as forces beyond their control change their perspectives as they know it. As the clock winds down, they have big decisions to make. Do they leave the darkness behind or embrace it for what it has become? The twists and turns keep you entertained in as the suspense builds in this story. This book was amazing!

Serenade By T.K Lawyer. This story follows Kingsley and Eva. Kingsley has been looking for his mate for a very long time, he feels empty and just wants to find his mate to fill the void in his hear. Eva is not looking for a man after her past relationship, she’s not too keen to start up another one just yet. Both characters were well written and easy to warm too. I love wolf shifter stories and this one is probably one of the best so far. I was pulled in from the start, the author kept my attention and did not disappoint, I did not want it to end.

Having read book 5 in McKinley’s Gray Ghost series, I was looking forward to this one and was not disappointed.
Former Navy SEAL Keegan Hunt comes face to face with a woman from his past and from his dreams whilst on a mission in Venezuela. Kara Medina can’t believe who the man is she encounters whilst infiltrating a special ops mission. The two can’t deny their attraction to each other and when things become dangerous they realise the feelings they had for each other years ago have not diminished. Keegan refuses to leave without Kara even if it means forfeiting his own life.
A romantic suspenseful thriller novel, which had me gripped from page one until the very last word. I loved the new characters and I also liked how some familiar characters from previous books are mentioned in the novel. However it can be read as a standalone story. Full of drama and romance, this novel is a great read. I am now looking forward to the next book in the series!
