Movie Star by Pamela DuMond is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan series. This book was amazing, Its very rare that I like sequels better than the first book, but this book was on fire. I read it in one sitting and couldnt get enough. The characters were so well developed and practically jump off the stage. The story line keeps you on the edge of your seat from page. This is a new author for me, but I cant wait to read more by her, whether this series or another. I give this book and author 5 stars.

Movie Star is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. It is an amazing read and you absolutely need to read the first book as otherwise you will feel a bit lost (like I did as I started with the second book!).
It is a spellbound story where Evie (our main character who we follow through all the books in the series) takes on her second client – a huge movie star Jake Keller who has some heavy hitting secrets. He is lost and shutting down and Evie needs to dig in and create her magic! There are many revelations for Evie in this one and her psycho “fan” is stepping up their game too and also someone from her past keeps turning up… there is a lot going on here and you need to be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster!
I cannot wait to see what waits Evie in the next book of the series! Please keep them coming!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just finished reading Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2), by Pamela DuMond.

This book is somehow, even better than the first!

I don’t know if it’s because we know Evie and the girls a lot better now or if it’s because I *might* like Jake better than Dylan (sorry Dylan, I still love you though), or a combination of both.

I completely fell for Jake, who is very down to earth, despite being a huge movie star.

He cares for his employees, his friends and of course, Evie.

Evie, will stop at nothing when she is helping people – despite everything that she is going through in her personal life (a creepy fan, her family, her job).
She will do her best to get to the bottom of the deep dark secrets Jake has tried to bury, so he can heal and get back on his superstar track.

I really wasn’t prepared for the last bit of the book – a double whammy got dropped and I can’t wait to see the ending.

Pamela DuMond – you outdid yourself and I’m so grateful that you did!
I really, really liked the first book in this series and I was over the moon but I LOVED this one even more!

I can’t wait to read more of your books!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan) by Pamela Dumond is a five star novel. As soon as I started reading this book, it took me back to the first book and immersed me right back into the story of Evie. After reading the first book, I knew I needed to finish this series and could not hardly wait to read more. I read this book in an evening, after working a full day. But what a way to end a long day! This book is steamy, sexy, and intriguing all at the same time. Evie is a contractor where she goes and helps successful struggling men to get their groove back. She has a crazy knack for being able to feel people’s pain or discomfort and then being able to insert herself into their lives so that she can help them work through the pain. When her stalker reappears in her life, it starts to make things go blurry but she tries her best to put it to the side so she can help her newest client Jake.

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2)Movie Star by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star is the 2nd book in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. I would definitely recommend reading the first book, Player, before reading this one. It can be read as a stand-alone but the story will make more sense if you have read the first book.
Movie Star continues on from where Player left off and like Player it just stops at the end leaving you screaming WTF!! Why does Pamela DuMond do this to us? In this book Evie is hired to work with top actor Jake Keller who is losing all interest in his work and pulling away from everyone. It’s Evie’s job, as an empath, to find out what is causing Jake to pull away and to heal him.
Breaking down Jake’s walls isn’t easy and when you finally discover why, it is heart-breaking. Pamela DuMond deals with this issue fantastically and with sensitivity.
As with the first book, there are other subplots going on too. We get more of her dealings with Easton Wolff, one of the brothers who her mother ran over when they were teenagers. We also get more of her mother’s story, her mother who has been receiving psychiatric help since this incident years ago.
I really enjoyed this book, more so than the first book in the series. Evie is a wonderful, compelling character and I look forward to see what the author has in store for her in the next 2 books in this series.

I feel bad for Evie. She feels so much and yet she helps others be better. With so many different emotions coming at her it’s a wonder she functions so well. I don’t like how they use her. I understand why she does it but not the benefit to her. I actually enjoyed this second book more than the first. Jake needs help and Evie is sent in to give him what he needs. This is definitely a new take on Courtesans and what they stood for. The author makes you take a step back and look at the picture from a different view. Overall the story was interesting and enjoyable to read.

I can’t say enough about this series! It’s so captivating and so brilliant! Move Star is Book 2 in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. Evelyn “Evie” is an escort that makes six figures, not because she beds every man but because she has a special gift. Evie is Empathetic. She can feel other people’s emotions and she has been able to get to the root of men’s problems. In this book, she is on to a new client. This new client is none other than super famous movie star Jake Keller. Jake hasn’t been the same for some reason and it’s her job to figure it out and “fix” him. However, there is still someone in the shadows that continues to send her “fan” mail. There is no clue as to who this person is but that person definitely knows who she is. Not only that there is still the person that she loves the most, but they are both so busy and he won’t buckle down and ask for her hand in marriage. Wait, let’s not forget one of the men that she keeps coming across that hates her to pieces. This book is so complex and yet so intriguing at the same time. I can’t help but read these books in the matter of hours rather than days and not being able to breathe until the last page is read. I adore this series and cannot wait to read the next one. I NEED to know what happens!

I really enjoyed book 1 and so I was looking forward to this one and was hoping it would live up the the high expectations I had for it… and it did! It was an amazing book and like I predicted, this author is going to be one of my favs! I was pulled into this story from page one and I DEVOURED IT. ByPamela DuMond
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2) by Pamela DuMond was an engaging, emotional read, that hooks you and pulls you into the story.

Not my first read from this author or in this series. This is a continuation series so I highly suggest reading the first book. It will give you much needed background info and character backstories.

I very much enjoyed the first book, and this one was equally as enjoyable. They are fast reads so if you haven’t read that first book, you’ll get through it in no time so you can get your hands on this wonder. A detailed drama thriller, you are taken on a heart pounding ride, one that takes you deep into Evie’s emotional world. The super fan is more aggressive, more of her past is revealed, as twists and turns takes the story to a whole other level.

Overall this book was the perfect addition, and it’s that perfect mix of dark, light and mystery. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will get hooked.

Happy Reading

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) by Pamela DuMond is another exciting book in this great series. You must read the others before reading this one as this one takes off where the last one ended. It is a bit of an emotional read, full intrigue and mystery, pain and suffering and hot, sexy men who need to find the one thing that has stopped them from moving forward. It is well written and the great characters are well developed, complex and multi layered. I read this book in one sitting, from start to finish, as I was enthralled, there is so much going on in this book and there was never a time that I wanted to put it down.

Evie, is beautiful and worth every bit that she is paid. She is the one woman who can get to the root of the problem, where so many others fail and helps men heal but she is still wrapped in the pain of her past and is becoming more conscious of what people see her as. Now the pieces of her life are starting to come out and she sees her mother in a different light. It also seems she can not hide from her stalker and her past.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series and see what happens next.

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan Series Book #2) by Pamela DuMond – Review by Angela Hayes

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2)Movie Star by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star is the highly anticipated second instalment in the 21st Century Courtesan Series by Pamela DuMond. I can’t get enough of this series, and characters! Ms. DuMond won me over with the first book, and earned herself a spot on my ‘must-read’ list. As this book picks up right where the first book left off, and has quite a few recurring characters, I really recommend reading book #1 before starting on this one- as the first book gives all the important backstory and character introductions, which you should know in order to fully appreciate this brilliant book! As with the first book, this one made quite an impression. It’s got originality in spades, while being complex, funny, HOT, sexy, erotic, suspenseful, mysterious, and intriguing- which is the perfect recipe for an addictive read.
As we discover in book one, Evelyn Berlinger (Evie) is an empath who had quite a tumultuous childhood, especially one particularly tragic event which changes her life forever. Because of this tragedy she suppressed her empathic abilities- shutting them down and just tried to get on with her life. But on reaching adulthood, she was left with no choice but to take on the financial responsibility for her family, which put a heavy strain on her, and her finances. So, when an opportunity arises that would enable her to earn a lot of money- Evie accepts. And that’s how she started working for the ‘Ma Maison Agency’, as a high priced escort- using her empathic abilities to provide a unique experience for her wealthy clientele, who willingly pay her costly fee to help ‘heal’ whatever has ‘broken’ them and is ‘holding them back’. But her ‘job’ hasn’t been without its problems, and Evie now wants out. She’s down to the last few clientele, and we get a front row seat to it all.
In this book Evie flies out to Los Angeles, to work with A-List actor and Oscar contender, Jake Keller. Jake should be using the Oscar opportunity to catapult his career to dizzying heights- but instead he’s become closed off, shut everyone out, and retreated from the world. His ‘team’ is concerned for him and his career- and as a last resort, Evie is called in to ‘help’ him find and deal with his issue. But this won’t be such a simple task. There is a lot playing out under the surface- with secrets, guilt, hidden agendas, and Hollywood politics, all coming into play. Then, add in a crisis back home, an on-going ‘stalker’ issue, and a unexpected work situation….. and this story really takes off!!!
I loved Evie from the moment I met her in book #1, she’s a fantastic character- wonderfully complex, unique, endearing, interesting, and entirely memorable- I have loved every second of her story and have become completely invested in her and the outcome. I loved meeting Jake this time round, his story was unexpected, but really well done. I also love all the secondary, characters, who really added their own ‘stamp’ to the story. There are a few characters who stand out and intrigue me, and I hope we will get to know much more about them in the next book/s.
Now I really can’t wait for the next exciting instalment, “Beloved”, to be released- soon, I hope!!!! SQUEEEEE Bring on book #3!!!

Thank you, Ms. DuMond!

I love her character even more in this book than I did in the first book. She embraces herself in this book and really steps it up. I am extremely curious who her Fan is. The storyline flowed easily in this novel keeping my attention. It was written well and I look forward to reading more in this series.

Really?! Omg that ending…not a mind altering cliff hanger but enough of an unfinished story to have me wanting to pull my hair out!! This is my second book by this author with Book 1 Player being my first and I loved Player but this one..Holy Buckets was so completely awesome I don’t even have the words.

Many truths came out in this part but not enough to have it all figured out and my heart is just broke with some of the revealed secrets that came out in this one. I can’t even begin to predict where this author is going to take the rest of this story, she is handling it beautifully and Im not going to go into anything that may ruin the reading of both books by others.

I have fallen head over heels for this author’s writing, its flawless in my opinion and there is no added content throughout that would normally make a person skim through…and so easy to read and before you know it your done and sitting there wanting to throw something.

I loved it and highly recommend you start with book 1, I can’t imagine starting with this one I really and truly don’t think it would work.

I completely loved this book!!

Movie Star is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan by Pamela DuMond. I hated having to put it down, especially the closer I got to the end. I really feel like the book turned a pivotal corner in Wisconsin of all places.

Evie continues to try and heal her clients and this time it’s a Hollywood star by the name of Jake Keller. He is on the cusp of becoming huge but something is holding him back and it’s Evie’s job to figure it out.

I really like Evie a lot, there are a few others I like as well but I think they’re going to have larger roles in the next book.

I will be waiting impatiently for the next book since this one has left me hanging. I hope I don’t have to wait long.

Movie Star is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan by Pamela DuMond. I might have liked this a little better than Player. I mean who wouldn’t want to go to movie premieres and Hollywood parties with a sexy man candy. And don’t get me started on the steaminess that goes on in the bedroom. With everything Evie has going on with Jake, she still has a “Fan” lurking in the shadows. Pamela’s writing is unique and kept you guessing with the twists. Her secondary characters are enjoyable and I want more of them. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Honestly, this book is amazing! This is part two in the 21st Century Courtesan Series and it is hands down better than the first book. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. This series is original, sexy and addictive. I’m anxiously waiting for the next installment.

The story continues as Evie takes on her next client. Jake is a big time movie star with a secret as big as he is. He’s lost his way and is shutting down. It’s up to Evie to get him back on track. As much as I loved Dylan in the first book, I fell head over heels for Jake. He’s there for her as well and helps her in her time of need. There are many revelations for Evie in this book that knocks her off kilter. Someone from her past keeps popping up and throwing a wrench in her plans and her psycho “fan” has stepped it up a notch.

So much happens in this book that I was blown away. Pamela DuMond has written an exceptional story filled with suspense, angst and of course steamy moments. I highly recommend this book!

Movie Star by Pamela DuMond is book two in the 21st Century Courtesan Series. After reading book one, Player, and falling in love with Evie, I had to see what book 2 would be like. Let me tell you Movie Star does not disappoint. Evie is with her next client Jake and it’s a whole new adventure. This story has a mixture going on with it but it keeps you hooked and wanting more the entire time. Easton Wolfe makes another appearance and throws Evie off. Her admirer comes and goes as he pleases and creeps her out. But what will happen with Evie and Jake is the big question, can she heal him or will every thing else get in the way and impact her ability.

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2)Movie Star by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star was a great 5 star read and book two in the 21st Century Courtesan series.

Evie is empathic, men hire her to help them heal. She is heading to LA to help Jake Keller, a very hot troubled movie star. The night before she leaves she discovers her house has been broken into. And she has gotten another letter. Has her stalker returned?

Healing broken men is filthy, grueling work, which is why it’s ironic that on the outside I look immaculate.

Jake has some secrets that someone wants to keep buried. Will Evie be able to help Jake or will his secret stay buried?

As they spend time together Evie and Jake get close, and lets just say they had some very steamy scenes. There is also an unexpected twist, someone that Evie hadn’t seen in a couple of years shows up.

Be prepared for so much more in this story. I love Evie, she had me lol at times with things she would say or think. The secondary characters were great. Once I started I couldn’t put it down, I finished it pretty quickly. Pamela DuMond will have your head spinning with the things going on. I suggest reading book one first. I look forward to reading more in this series.

I give MOVIE STAR (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) by Pamela Dumond, 4 stars.
This review may contain spoilers from book 1.

Evie is a courtesan with high dollar clients. She is empathic and uses these powers to heal broken men. Her newest client is Jake, a very popular movie star. But he is the toughest client she has had. It is so hard for her to find the root of the problem. Plus he keeps running away, making it almost impossible to do her task. Can she get to the bottom of it and heal this broken man? At what cost to her?

This is a wonderful book. Jake is a great man, but hurting so much. Evie just wants to make this great man better. I have liked Evie from the very beginning and this book shows her growing into who she wants to be. But she still has so many struggles, both from the past and the present. There is so much more going on than just Evie healing Jake. I could not put the book down and cannot wait to read the next one. I actually liked this book better than the first one.

This book can be read as a stand alone, but I do recommend reading book one to get the complete story.

She is such a strong and capable character as more and more of her character is unearthed through the series. Jake’s character was well written, you could feel the broken edges to him. I could not get my hands on MOVIE STAR fast enough! I didn’t even need the tease of the gorgeous cover that graces it, or the sultry blurb that promises seduction, intrigue and pleasures of the flesh to be told, I was hooked merely with Evie and her story carrying on from the very first book, The Player. Here is where I will highly recommend that you read these books in order so you can get the full experience and understanding of what is going on here. I have fallen in love with Evie’s character so much and really enjoyed following her on this journey so far. MOVIE STAR was just another wonderful addition to that where we got to see her mature into her womanhood more.

In MOVIE STAR Jake Keller is Evie’s special client. He has shut down and things around him are suffering, major things. Evie is determined to help him but he isn’t going to go down without a bit of a struggle. Will she be able to break through to him and help him? Then there is the side mystery storyline of the mystery fan. There is not a lot divulged just yet here but still enough to keep me on the edge of my seat wondering what next? And but who?? I can’t wait to see what will take Evie’s life by storm next! Thanks for the fantastic read Ms. DuMond!

This is the second book in this series that I have read and I wasn’t disappointed. I found the authors style to be quite refreshing and really brings the story to life. The whole concept of the books is really quite unique. I really enjoyed how the author brings a little intrigue into the books with a slight sinister twist. I couldn’t put the book down.

This book helps to get a bit more into Evie’s past and how she starts to fit all the pieces together. I love how she is able to help people and how sort of unique her career choice is. The way that she helps Jake as well as some of her other clients is just so unique. I like how the author shows a different side of escorts. I found that the author has quite a unique story line and character set. The series is really addicting and I really look forward to reading more from this author and this series as I am excited to see what will happen next.

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) by Pamela Dumond – Review by Tausha Treadway

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2)Movie Star by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) by Pamela Dumond. This is the second book in the Courtesan Series and I love these books. It picks up where the first book left off and is about Evie and her life as a 21st Century Courtesan. Her latest assignment is Jake Keller, a movie star who is in a funk. Evie is strong, independent and beautiful. Her life has not been easy and she is taking care of her mentally ill mother and her strung out sister. Jake has been a huge movie star but has had an emotional and creative shut down so Evie is flying out to see if she can help. Jake is a sweet guy but has a broken past. Will Evie be able to get thru Jake’s tough exterior and help him have the breakthrough he needs. This is a great book, I loved it as much as the first one.

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) By Pamela DuMond – Review by Erica Fish

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2)Movie Star by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Movie Star by Pamela DuMond is a great addition to her series 21st Century Courtesan. To be honest I was thinking that this series was going to be a new romance series, which is not my most favorite genre, I was really wrong. Ms. DuMond has written a new romance series, but there are so many angles that it has a bracket all of it own in my genre lists. The characters are amazing and the story line is fully develop and keeps bringing me back to the story when I think I have figured out some of the mysteries going on with the story. This book is the continuation of Evie but has added Jake the movie star in for some flair. It appears as if Jake has been taken back and Evie is not sure why he feels that way. She decides to help Jake and that is when everything comes forward. Will Evie help Jake and will Jake help Evie back?

MOVIE STAR (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) By Pamela DuMond – Review by Katie Kearney

Movie Star (21st Century Courtesan, #2)Movie Star by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

MOVIE STAR (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) By Pamela DuMond. Once again I was drawn into a story by this author. I do recommend reading these books in order to fully understand and enjoy the series. The author writes a story that flows nicely and never felt rushed or lacking anything. The characters are complex and believable. I really liked book 1 and the author did an equally great job of writing this one. Even with a lot going on in this story I never felt lost in it all day, the author does a wonderful of keeping readers both clear on details and engaged throughout all the things happening. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it. Can’t wait to read more.
