Wolfbane (Wolfbane Series Book #1) by Celia Hart – Review by Angela Hayes

Wolfbane (Wolfbane #1)Wolfbane by Celia Hart
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Wolfbane is the first book in the Wolfbane series by Celia Hart. It is a paranormal shifter romance, with werewolves, pack dynamics, a love triangle/square, fated mates, ANGST, DRAMA, family dynamics, action, violence, chemistry, sizzle, challenges, obstacles, tension, heartache, push-pull, frustrating developments, multiple POV’s, and more.

I LOVE a great paranormal romance, it is one of my favourite genres, add in shifters/werewolves- and I’m a happy camper. So, when I saw this pop up on social media, I didn’t hesitate to grab a copy and dive right in.
I had high expectations, I must admit- because I love this genre so much. I had never read anything by this author before (and this does appear to be her debut novel), so I was excited to see what she could do.
I will be honest here and say, I really did want to love this book much more than I did. I am disappointed that I didn’t- as this has the potential to be brilliant. It just didn’t really work for me.
I was expecting a love triangle, but this took that so much further- more like two love triangles- which just muddled/complicated things unnecessarily, in my opinion. I don’t necessarily dislike ‘cheating’ in books, if it’s done right- but this felt like ‘cheating’ to me- and it frustrated me to death. It felt like it was done to ‘manufacture angst and add drama, for the sake of it. I really think that this book would have been brilliant if it had just focused on one couple, and didn’t overly complicate the whole thing with the ‘multiple’ love interest dynamics. I found it hard to really connect with the characters, because of that ‘dynamic’.
Just when things were getting interesting, towards the end, the flow got quite rushed and then the ending seemed to come somewhat abruptly. The series is set to continue in ‘Wolfblood’ (Book #2)- but from what I can see, it focuses on different characters- so I will have see what happens there.
But don’t let my opinion put you off reading this story, you might love it- especially if you love paranormal romance with plenty of sizzle and love triangles/squares. So, if that’s the case, grab yourself a copy and make up your own mind.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Celia Hart!

I have to let you know straight up that each book in this amazing series follows on from the previous one so do yourself a favour and read from book 1. I didn’t think this series could get any better but it truly does or maybe I am just getting more and more hooked with each page turned.
Tamaska and Kodiak are of course back in this continuation of their story and the risks are higher than ever. You will 100% be captivated right from the start by this fantastic, action packed Paranormal Romance. I can’t wait for more from this amazing author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is absolutely one of my favorite types of genres, I love when an author can weave in different timelines and stories always has my attention. I was captivated right from the beginning. And I could not pout this book down till I read the whole thing. This book was filled with so much from archaeology, romance, fantasy, history, on the edge of my seat suspense. This story was well written and makes you really feel like your there, the story was so well developed it was hard sometimes to remember that this is a fantasy book as while. the character in this book were just as amazing, they felt real and that these people Caitlin and Ciaran were real people too. This book crosses in a lot of timelines but is well worth the read. I highly recommend this book.

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson – Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Forbidden MateForbidden Mate by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson is a great paranormal romance,

Vampire Tasha and Lycan Levi were destined to be adversaries from the start. Their only hope of survival now, as an external threat tests the nascent partnership between the species, is working together. The mysteries that lurk around every corner threaten to shatter all they have ever believed as each step they take draws them further into a web of lies and deception that spans decades. The only way to save the situation as time runs out is to solve the puzzle of lycan and vampire DNA. They were characterized by evolution, but they also produced a monster that was capable of wiping them all out. Even if Levi and Tasha’s love violates every rule that their species had to follow, it might not be powerful enough to protect them from the Hellspawn.

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique romance vampire series. The story really brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down. I have binge read the series at this point and will continue on book three.

Spoilers for the previous book, Forbidden Wolf, are ahead. Tasha and Levi are finally able to be together due to an uneasy truce between the vampires and lycans. Both species have a common enemy now – the hellspawn. More secrets are revealed about the unlikely but destoned pair as they uncover more secrets of the vampires and lycans. I love Tasha and Levi finally being together and further building their relationship, they are perfect for one another. Forbidden Mate has several twists and turns starting about halfway through the story. The ending caused me to pick up the next book, Forbidden Moon, immediately.

Most of the time a second book will make or break a series, and this continuation has blown me AWAY! It picks up the story like no time has passed and I dove in headfirst. I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t pull myself away! I love how this author has such a way of writing that you just can’t predict where the story is heading next. I can’t get enough of Tasha and Levi. The flow of the book is absolutely flawless and never felt a lull. Buckle in because we are amping up the adventure in this installment. I cannot wait to grab up the next book in this series to find out what happens next with our lovely MCs. I highly recommend this series so far!

The second book in the series and I cannot say how much I have completely fallen in love with these books.
We continue with Tasha and Levi as their relationship continues to grow and expand, encompassing more of their family, friends and units. They are still at war, but what are they fighting?
WE are shown a peek of the black lycans, and Levi takes Tasha to meet his grandmother and more information on the past comes to light.
The Characters all continue to develop, even the newer members are involved in the storyline.
I really hope that after the trials that Tasha has been through that Levi and her have a happy ever after but I feel that the way this book has progressed they have more to go through.
I am straight onto book 3, Paranormal, Magic, Mystery and Cliffhangers, keep you needing to know what happens next.
Great continuation from Forbidden Wolf! This is the second in the Shadow Chronicles series and it’s just as good as the first.

Loved being there with Tasha and Levi as they face not only the old obstacles but the new ones. They still have the chemistry I love and the development as they continue to find out secrets and discover more of the enemy.

Again, I enjoyed the style the author uses in writing. It flows well, is easy to follow and is descriptive so I feel like I could step into the world.

Onto book three!

Foxy Tails by Natalina Reis – Review by Angela Hayes

Foxy TailsFoxy Tails by Natalina Reis
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A Fox. A Healer. A Broken Soul.

Foxy Tails by Natalina Reis is a paranormal MM romance with shifters, magic, danger, action, adventure, fate, revenge, banter, humour, folklore/mythology, and more.
This has all the ingredients that I normally love to find in a MM romance- so it should have been right up my alley. And I love Ms. Reis’s stories, so I am not sure why I didn’t completely love this story. I found it hard to connect with the characters and so that made it difficult to invest in them and their story. I felt like something was ‘missing’, for me. I also didn’t feel the chemistry/connection between the characters- and I so want to love their romance. Maybe it’s just me, and I am having an ‘off’ reading day here- so I am planning to come back to this in a few weeks and reread it to see if I still fell the same way, or not. So, stay tuned.
Don’t let me put you off reading this book though, as it is a good story…. And Ms. Reis does weave a well-written tale. Jump in and make up your own mind.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Natalina Reis!

Dia’s Lure (Solstice Quartet #3) by Catherine Peace-Review by Amanda Kimble

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dia’s Lure (A Solstice Quartet #3) by Catherine Peace

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Dia’s Lure is the third book in the Solstice Quartet Series. This book captured me from the get-go. I had a hard time choosing quotes for everyone. Dia and her friends are amazing.

Dia aka Dane is hiding out from hunters. She is traveling with a Samaritan Group which helps people out. When an explosion happens and she is thrown out of the vehicle, she runs. Then she’s found by others hiding out. Her ex shows up and she finds herself falling for the one who saved her. The quote I chose for Dia is: “You’ll have to try hard, dingo. But yeah, I’ll let you try.”

Kano has been keeping an eye out for Dia since the night of the killing of her mother. When she is found again it takes his breath away. Then he finds himself also falling for Milos. Can he save the two of them? The quote I chose for Kano is: “It’s not. It’s not your fault. Harrington made the decision. He called the hunting party, not you. All you did was exist, love. You existed and you were beautiful, and you still are. Some people just can’t be happy unless they’re causing pain, and he was one of ’em.”

Milos is of a colony. He doesn’t necessarily like strangers. Then Dane and Kano come to his little camp and he can’t help but want them both. Can he survive the whole legend thing? Will he be able to have his happily ever after? The quote I chose for Milos is: “When we left Transylvania, I was a small child. I hadn’t had my first transformation yet, so I rode in a wagon with the other children. Sorina, too. I think Cammie was still a baby. I remember people yelling at us. Torches, pitchforks, guns…the whole deal. As the caravan trundled out of town, they threw rocks at us. One hit me right here. I was lucky. Something about our first transformation causes the anemia. A hit like that might kill me now, but back then…then it just terrified me. These were friends, people whom the vràji had worked side by side with. Parents of children Rina and I had played with.”

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms #1) by E.G. Manetti

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Elemental Fire is the first book in The Hidden Realms Series. The book was such a fascinating story. Fairy tales come to life in this book.

Rad is a fire elemental and interested in Sin. Being an Enforcer is hard work, but worth it in the end. Sin helps him in a crisis and he can’t help but repay her. He is intrigued by her the more he gets to know her. The quote I chose for Rad is: “Sin, you fascinate me. Beguile me. But that is not why. You trusted us over your own kind. On nothing but our word. Within the hidden realms, we owe you an act of similar courage or trust. The monetary reward must equate to the value of the debt.”

Sin is a human who can see the Hidden for who they truly are. She is a PI which is how she meets an Imp she later helps break out of jail. She finds Rad interesting and can’t seem to keep him off her mind. The quote I chose for Sin is: “Whoever is sourcing the dark-b knows it’s illegal beyond the veil. Otherwise, they’d be working with you or another warden. If they are caught, under the treaty, they get handed over to the Elders’Council for trial and judgment. The few criminals who have returned after the Elders’Council justice, aged decades in days. I would want a lot more than a fat bank account to risk a big piece of my life.”

Friends with Benies: An AMBW Paranormal Romance (Paris in Springtime #7) by T.B. Bond

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Friends with Benies is an amazing book. It was a short, but sweet story. I’ll definitely be looking for more by the author.

Wednesday is a techno-mage and loves working with her magic. She and her best friend start up a company and haven’t really been apart since. She is in love with her bestie, but doesn’t think it’s possible. The quote I chose for Wednesday is: “Way to look, observe, and gather evidence. You, boar, are buying me a new door. Now eat. You know how you get when you panic shift. You can take in my safe scent and calm yourself down.”

Ryker doesn’t think going on this cruise is going to work out very well. He then runs into someone and finds that his mate has been under his nose the entire time. Now all he has to do is convince her of it. The quote I chose for Ryker is: “That’s fine. I need the protein and electrolytes to etch tonight into memory.”

Master Catteneo: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate #5) by Sylvia Black

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Master Catteneo is the fifth book in the Masters of the Consulate. Each book can be read as a standalone. Characters from the first four books are in this one. The author knows how to write the words we can’t stop reading.

Catteneo is one of the twelve masters. When one of the mates is kidnapped all the Masters come together. He goes to someone he knows only to find his mate. The granddaughter of the contact he has. The quote I chose for Catteneo is: “Do you mind if I take this with us? I have some contacts in the city I will reach out to. I expect Isala will contact you directly with demands. When you’ve got the rest of the team ready, meet me at my estate. Everyone can stay there. It has plenty of room. Meanwhile I want to talk to a few people.”

Alessia knows there are vampires out there. She also has the same power as her grandmother. When her Grandmother tells her that they are coming she understands. What she isn’t expecting is to find her mate. The quote I chose for Alessia is: “You don’t half to explain anything to me, Gramma. I’m sorry I questioned you. I’m just shocked. Why on earth would the vampires want to start a war now? They’re sitting at the top of the hierarchy in terms of power. They have the respect of almost everyone in the underworld. While I’m sure all the factions would love nothing more than to take that power, most people grudgingly respect the vampires for the way they’ve been able to assimilate into the modern world and their ability to work alongside even the Syndicate.”

Queen’s Destiny: Blood Prophecy #1 by Barb Jones

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Queen’s Destiny is the first book in the Blood Prophecy Series. This book is very entertaining and the author knows how to write a fantastic book.

Amber is having these strange dreams. Something is coming and she doesn’t understand what is going on. She keeps spacing out and hearing things that aren’t really being said. The quote I chose for Amber is: “We might do some work together on the digs I’ll be cataloging. How big is your collection? One more bag to go.”

Chloe is the one who is showing Amber around. She knows that something is coming, but isn’t sure what. Then she finds out what it is. The quote I chose for Chloe is: “Okay, Amber, welcome to Seattle. The baggage claim is this way, and I paid a skycap to let me keep the car in the loading zone. Was your flight okay?”

Distant Memories: A Nurse Morgan Series: Book 2 by Kate MacInnis

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Distant Memories follows Distant Heart Sounds. This is the second book in the Nurse Morgan Series. You will absolutely love this book if you love Paranormal Romance.

Morgan is back again and this time there’s a new ghost in her life. Esmeralda or Esmey drapes herself over men whether or not there’s a female companion. Her relationship with Caleb is moving forward and it scares the living heck out of her. The quote I chose for Morgan is: “Why is that wrong? There are only two choices, so it’s not like you haven’t been down this road. Just enjoy the time. Despite the vomiting, you really are glowing.”

Caleb has never felt so right staying with Morgan. He loves working with her and at Good Sam. Savvy has been a good friend to him and he might soon be taking over. He helps Morgan with getting rid of the ghost. The quote I chose for Caleb is: “I’d be willing to bet that I’m more surprised than you are. There isn’t one woman in my past who would ever claim I was a romantic. I’m known for being dark and brooding. A stud in bed, certainly, but a romantic? Never. I actually felt a little silly doing this, but it seemed right.”

Distant Heart Sounds (A Nurse Morgan Series #1) by Kate MacInnes

This is the first book by the author that I’ve read, but I will be on the lookout for others. MacInnes has done a phenomenal job with this.

Morgan, a nurse, is now able to see things she hasn’t been able to before. Thanks to a near-death experience she knows she has roommates. The quote I chose for Morgan is: “No, it’s actually good logic. Who’s to say? Maybe I need to do more research.”

Caleb, a new doctor in town, meets a fantastic nurse. He invites her out after having a chat with her. They have something in common. They can see auras. The quote I chose for Caleb is: “You won’t believe this, but it’s almost 5:30 p.m. Would you like to go to a local place and have an early dinner? We’ve eaten so much junk today, I genuinely need some solid food to balance all the bad. How does that sound?”

The Cross of Ciarán (The Cross of Ciarán Book 1) by Andrea Matthews – Review by Amy Brennan

The Cross of CiaranThe Cross of Ciaran by Andrea Matthews
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s like a tv series that you don’t want to start until you know you’re able to binge watch the entirety of that show. That’s what I was waiting for with this series and have been not so patiently waiting for the day to come where I could start. I always find that the Pilot, or the first installment in a series is the hardest to get through, with all the character development, world building, and plot coming into focus, but didn’t find it difficult to become addicted to flipping the pages of this novel. This author has very clearly put her love of writing into Ciaran, Caitlin, as well as Ciaran’s newfound chosen family, and supporting characters and in checked all the boxes for me.

There’s nothing like a slow burn romance amidst a fifteen hundred year old Celt that is keeping a heavily guarded secret, Priests that want nothing more than to please the higher power that they believe in but also do what’s right for who they care and love, and the mystery of the past, that will surely become more apparent as the series progresses. I thought to myself, okay, I’ll set aside an hour or two a night to read, which then turned into several hours the past few days, and here we are, swiftly moving onto The Book of Carraig. Once this is all done, I look forward to exploring more of her work, highly recommend!

Romance under Aquarius: Stargazing Series #1 by Danielle Jacks

This is not the first book I’ve read by the author. Romance under Aquarius is a fantastic read and will leave you wanting more. This is the first book in the Stargazing Series. There were four main characters, but two that stuck out the most.

Maris is a merperson and can’t wait to get married. Her best friend is concerned about her doing an arranged marriage, but it’s what her family had planned for her. She then catches her best friend and future husband in bed together. The quote I chose for Maris is: “Don’t feel bad for me. Ryn seems like a nice merman.”

Kasper will do anything to save his brother. Including finding a merperson to help him out. He doesn’t want to trust her, but it becomes inevitable once he gets to know her. He wants to pursue a relationship with her, but isn’t sure where to start. The quote I chose for Kasper is: “Fine. Yes. I’m jealous . Are you happy now?”

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Captivated is the first book in the Hybrid Lovers Series. The author has outdone themselves by writing this book.

Angelina finds that going on a blind date can end well. She not only gets one true love, but two true loves. They’re not exactly human like she is. The quote I chose for Angelina is: “You might be right, but I’m not going to settle for any guy just so I can say I’m in a relationship.”

Salvatore is Luca’s twin brother. He’s not human and he isn’t exactly one part of something. He’s part-vampire part-Angel and he’s a hybrid. He has been waiting for his mate for a long time. The quote I chose for Salvatore is: “This is it, Luca. It’s our woman. It’s far too compelling to be anything else but her.”

Luca is the twin brother to Salvatore. He is also a hybrid. He is excited that he and his brother are getting their mate. The quote I chose for Luca is: “Maybe it’s different because there are now three in this relationship, Sal. We are the only twins in vampire or angel history, at least for a very long time. The last twins were killed many centuries ago.”

Ciarán Donnelly is ready to leave his past behind and concentrate on his new life, but his past may not be finished with him. His dreams have returned with a vengeance, and this time they’re telling him Ruadhán, the long-dead priest who entombed him fifteen hundred years before, is threatening to kidnap his unborn twins. Of course, his dream interpretation leaves a lot to be desired, especially when it comes to those he loves.

As if the dreams are not bad enough, his anxiety over them is causing stress on his new marriage, which is the last thing Caitlin needs in her current condition. The twins are on the way, and everyone advises him the dreams stem from his own insecurities over becoming a father. After all, Ruadhán was the chief priest, a member of the high council, loyal to his goddess unto death. What are the chances he suffered the same fate as Ciarán and survived fifteen centuries?

The theory sounds reasonable, and he’s happy to accept it, until Aodhán comes across an empty tomb in the Hills of ár Sinsear that looks as though it may have been occupied at some point. Could Ruadhán have survived after all? And if so, where is he now? To complicate the issue, Aodhán stumbles across another piece of information that could alter the possible meaning of his brother’s dreams. But will Ciarán manage to put the pieces together before it’s too late, or will he lose his family to an ancient adversary?

Angelina’s life changes in one moment. When Salvatore and Luca come into her life Angelina must decide where her future will take her. Not only does her life depend on it but all human life does.

This is an interesting take on the vampire world. It brings vampires and angels together. As the hybrids fight against demons they also search for their mate. Now that Salvatore and Lucas have found Angelina, they work to show her what they could have and what it means. While I thought the plot of this book was an interesting one, I did not connect with the characters. Although this book is not a favorite of mine the story moves at a good pace and has some interesting supporting characters.

Beelzebub: The Gift of Gluttony (A Sinful Seven Novel) by JC Brown & L. Lane

Beelzebub is the Demon of Gluttony. He gets in trouble by Michael when taking in hosts. He’s told not to do so again and then he sets his sights on Clara. A human and he’s not going to give her up. The quote I chose for Beelzebub is: “I can help you to be free. Free to be yourself, to do whatever you want, whenever you want to, free from feeling judged and trying to please others. By whispering words of encouragement and strength, I can help you find your heart’s desire. By working from within, I’ll provide guidance only you will hear.”

Clara is only human and is an empath. She feels everything others feel. She runs a bakery and when Beelzebub shows up she gets the shock of her life. Can she resist the Demon? The quote I chose for Clara is: “Money is nice. The bakery is doing so much better that I’ve had to hire several people to help me keep up. I guess I have you to thank for that. See, with all the extra money we’ve been making, I’ve been able to hire people to do all those things that I hate doing, like going shopping. I just place my order, and everything is done. And I found a couple of properties, in the middle of nowhere, that I’m considering buying. I might just buy both and use them as vacation places, I guess.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.

Lingering Spirits (Soul Connection, #4)Lingering Spirits by Nikki Lynn Barrett

Lingering Spirits (Soul Connection Book 4)
By Nikki Barrett 4 out of 5 Stars

There are so many ways to describe this book. Lingering Spirits is book 4 in the Soul Connection Series. Please go read books 1-3 in book order, you will not regret it at all. Nikki’s stories transcend the normal of human romance and expectation. The first connection of Russ and Hope had me catching my breath and the continuous back and forth between the two kept me going from page to page. Lovers of the Paranormal, Ghost stories, Paranormal romance, and Romance, in general, will love this book, 4 out of 5 stars.

Unlock the Angel (Seraphim Angel Order #1) by Calla Zae

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. I can’t wait for the next books in the series by the author. Unlock the Angel was a fantastic read.

Cathy is a normal human and living her best life. Well, as best as it can be with a dead mother and broken heart. When she meets Daedriel she senses that something is different. Will she be okay once she knows the truth? The quote I chose for Cathy is: “Of course! I’ve never seen an angel before. From the cloud movie, I know you have impressive blue wings. I only saw one set though. You said you have six wings. Show me.”

Daedriel is an Angel and is on Earth looking for a former friend. When his bird comes home and tells him about their neighbor he gets curious. Will he be able to stop the darkness from taking over? The quote I chose for Daedriel is: “We did. You unlocked me too. I was trapped in my own world until you came along. You offered me love, and that opened my heart and solidified my purpose even more. Before you, I fought for my realm. Now, I’m fighting for you. For us. Because without you, there is no light in me.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.

Seed on Fire (Moore Family Saga Book 1) by Michele Sims – Review by S. Bittles

Act I: Seed On Fire (Moore Family Saga, #1)Act I: Seed On Fire by Michele Sims
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Author gives us a romance story of early marriage obstacles, challenges and overcoming hard times individually and together as a couple.

Follow Cade and Lecia through the emotional rollercoaster as newlyweds and as new parents. The Author will have you feeling every bit of emotion with them as they face love, hardship, sacrifice, loss and forgiveness.

This book is a fast paced read, but also very smooth flowing. Such a beautiful love story filled with lovable characters, who have relatable struggles and at times, unpredictable fears around starting a family. Strong family bonds is the foundation of this saga.

This is my first read by this author and
I look forward to reading the next books in this saga. I think I’m going to want these books on my shelf!

Face the Fire (Moore Family Saga Book 5) by Michele Sims – Review by S. Bittles

Face the FireFace the Fire by Michele Sims
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Continue following Miles and Bella as they face high emotional stakes of running a company as business partners while demands of marriage and family ensue. Miles is now facing the same relatable struggles of career vs family that we followed Cade through in Book 2.

The Author gives us yet another twist and a fast paced engaging read. Deep rooted family bonds and trust are the foundations to this saga as we follow our characters on their journey of love, passion, betrayal and suspense.

Can be read as a stand-alone but highly recommend reading this saga in order, especially the last two books where Miles and Bella’s story begins.

This book is even better than the last, I definitely want physical copies of this whole saga on my shelf!!
