The second book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series, Finding Cheer was a welcomed addition following the first book. While I would not consider this a “fast paced” read, the storyline was smooth with an attention grabbing opening chapter. Reading Chasing Cheer prior, I was set up to really enjoy the familiar characters within this book. Our main female character is likable and someone you truly want to see happy. I think this series is really sweet and fun to explore. Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot.
Tievel is a demon tracker and Orel is a demon hunter. Orel is also a deputy sheriff and he meets Tievel when the latter comes to Juniper Lake to help the sheriff, his ex. The two are immediately drawn to one another with a chemistry neither of them can deny.
Along the way, they have a baby dropped at their door they decide to keep, Larkspur joins the cast of characters and shakes things up, Tievel learns not to be so prickly all the time, Oren works through what his new title and the sexy demon catching his attention means for his future, and you meet a cast of well fleshed out, fun and intriguing characters in the world of Juniper Lake. This book was a much slower burn than I anticipated and usually reach for, but it was so adorable that the tension didn’t take away from anything.
This was the first book I’ve read in this series, but book 3 of the series. I didn’t feel lost by being in the middle of the series, but I do plan on going back to get the introductions to the cast of wonderful and engaging characters from them! Tension, chemistry, danger, attraction, paranormal and also relatable. Well written, cute and fun read, with likeable and relatable characters you’ll be laughing out loud at and cheering on!

This was a cute, quick read. The characters were fun and I like Emerald Hollow. I did have a hard time getting into the plot but it was still a good read. I enjoyed the first book in the series so it was fun to follow another resident this time.
I was so excited when I saw this book was out. I absolutely love this series it has become one of my favourites. You are absolutely missing out on all this dark paranormal goodness if you don’t read them all and especially if you don’t read them in order even though they can be read as standalones. I have said it before, but I will say it again, I have been there since the beginning of this series and Sylvia knows how to write an epic dark paranormal tale that you are unable to put down. I am always instantly lost in the story and to the beauty of the harsh world that Sylvia created. Master Oradea is the tenth book in the fantastic Masters of the Consulate series where the vampire mafia rule and fated mates are a guarantee. This is an enemies to lovers story where you get shifters, witches, vampires and more and great writing. The Masters are wonderfully deliciously dark characters who are fierce, loyal and love hard and let’s not forget the sexiness, the passion and the explosive chemistry but cross them and look out. I cannot wait to get my fingers on the next book Master Bistrita. Bring it!

This is book 3 of the ‘Life is Hell’ series. Although you can read each book as a standalone, you are introduced to the characters in book 1. I recommend reading each book to get a better understanding of everyone’s personality. Plus, Naomi Valkyrie is awesome, as are all their books.
Teivel came to Juniper Lake as a one-time thing to hunt witches. After meeting Oren, he keeps making excuses to go back to the small town. He has no idea why though. He is a demon and Oren is a demon hunter. Their relationship is a big no-no and should be doomed from the start. Regardless, sparks ignite when these two are around each other.
Oren is interested but he thinks Teivel isn’t because he is emotionally distant and honestly kind of a jerk. No one can get through Teivels walls he put up around his heart. As a tracker demon, Teivel is always leaving with no notice which makes things even harder for him to open up. When a defenceless being appears on their doorstep. relationships are tested and the group of friends will have to band together to save the day once again.
When I was first introduced to Teivel, I did not like him much nor did I want him with Oren. Teivel appears to be a selfish and sarcastic jerk while Oren cares about others and seems sweet. They do not seem like a good match. As time went on and I got to know Teivel more and learn more about why he is how he is, I started to warm up to his character.
Naomi Valkyrie always writes their characters with such strong, unique personalities that you can’t help but fall in love with each one. I am excited for the new members of the clan and can’t wait to see where the author brings me next.

Finding Cheer by Heather Scheider is a sweet small-town romance with more than a touch of magic. It is the 2nd book in the series. I hadn’t read the first book, Chasing Cheer, but there are enough hints that you could read this book without having read the first, and it still makes sense. Of course, now I want to read the first book and catch up on the back story! The story revolves around Sofia, an Emerald Hollow resident and friend to Ash & Holly from the first book. She has been hurt before and is naturally sceptical of Isaiah, a man she finds on a hiking trail with apparent amnesia and no idea of how he came to be there. Sofia tries to unravel the mystery of Isaiah, while trying to resist their growing attraction for each other. After all, he could be anyone and who knows what kind of past he has?! This is a delightful story, full of whimsy and fun, with an interesting mystery.
You’d think that the 10th book in a series would lose some of its luster, but this author has proved me wrong! The Masters of the Consulate series has grown to be one of my favorites over the last couple of years, so I picked this one up without any hesitation. It’s a quick enough read to fit into your day and one you won’t be able to put down either! Sylvia Black has an everlasting talent as she expertly crafts the story of Master Oradea and Natalia. I adore the fact that we get to experience this from dual points of view as it makes it easier to gain each individual perspective. The story flows beautifully, the plot is solid, and the characters are incredibly well developed. I would definitely pick up the previous books in the series to gain the full experience with background. You could probably make do with this as a standalone, but you’ll also feel a bit lost through portions of it without the previous pieces of the puzzle. If you’re looking for a riveting paranormal read that will have you on the edge of your seat, look no further than this. I cannot wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

Ooooo. This series is literally life I was up all night waiting for this one to hit. Sylvia Black’s talent in having one every evolving story while also each individual story for each book/couple is inspiring. Dual perspectives of Oradea and Natalia. Master Oradea is beyond angry at the recent discovery of Lucas, Overmaster Descallia’s right hand man being a traitor and refuses to let him hide in his territory. All the masters are in shock and questioning everyone around them, even the loyalty of Embry. Lucas’s “mate” that he left behind, that has fought time and time again for the vampires as she is now being treated as an enemy. As if all her deeds never existed. Natalia is the younger sister of the Benzini family, with four older brothers. The rogues take interest in her with a warning sent through her for her brothers, her innocence doesn’t go unnoticed by the vampires. When the “plan” around the necklaces doesn’t work as planned the entire group is forced to look at themselves the Masters’ disbelief in the loyalty of the witches, even their own mates cause the power to be zapped from the crystals. Everything needs to change; trust needs to build and begin within the core group of the Master’s and mates as pairs not just to each other as males and females separate or only trusting their own mates. This is one of those stories that you can’t tell much about or you give it away. Oradea and Natalia are meant for each other. It just takes them time to realize it. Just a few obstacles get in the way: rogues; brothers; and witches. It’s a fast-paced story that will have you feeling like you are chasing rogues with them. I’m a big fan of multiple POV’s. It makes the story feel personal. Familiar faces make appearances. Everyone is chasing the rogues from Descalia down. There is some steam that will have you wiping off your glasses. It does end with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the next one

Hell In A Handbasket (Life is Hell Book 3) by Naomi Valkyrie. This is the 3rd installment in the Life is Hell series and its just as good as the 1st and 2nd if not better. I love Naomi Valkyrie so anything she writes I try to read. Its still set in Juniper Lake that seems so serene and peaceful but is anything but that. This is the story of Oren and Teivel who we met in the previous books but not much was told about them. Oren is a demon hunter who turns to demon Teivel for help in his training. He has tried to find anyone but Teivel but couldn’t come up with anyone else. This ends up being a mess for Oren because he is still a little new to the idea of being a Hunter and he also find Teivel a little attractive! The two have chemistry for days! This story is full of danger, mystery, family and romance. You won’t be able to turn the pages fast enough. Do yourself a favor and read them in order. You will be so glad you did!

Finding Cheer is the second book in the Magical Emerald Hollow Series. The is a sweet Romance that once you start reading its hard to put down. I highly recommend reading the first book if you haven’t already started it. You can read as standalones but you get a better understanding of what has been going on and you get to know the characters better Holly and Sofia are iback and it’s starting to feel and look like Spring time in Emerald Hollow. Sofia is very skeptical of the mystery man and his not remembering anything. The more she gets to know him the more she questions if she can trust or not. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m eagerly waiting for more from this author.

A very nice romance with a mystery element involved. I would recommend this book.
Finding Cheer by Heather Schneider is the second book in the Magical Emerald Hollow Series. This book focuses on Sofia, a side character in Chasing Cheer. Sofia meets a man named Isaiah who has lost his memories. Sofia is wary because she has been hurt before, and they do not start easily. Of course, this is a romance so we get to see them warm up to each other. I enjoyed their chemistry and fun dialogue. The story keeps you engaged with Isaiah’s mystery and a few twists that maybe you didn’t expect. The setting is as lovely as the first book and the narrative is emotional and authentic. This was a fun and endearing return to Emerald Hollow.
This is the second book in this series and yet again this Amazing author had me feeling so damn good reading this book. I just smiled pretty much the whole time I was reading it. As I said with the first book it is filled with gorgeous characters, a wonderful storyline and set in a town I so wish I could visit, I was totally captivated from start to finish. I can’t wait for more from Magical Emerald Hollow.
Finding Cheer was cute. The story itself was good. A tad slow at the beginning for me, but I still kept at it which made it worth it. The author brings the reader back to Emerald Hollow, to see another character get a whirlwind story. Sofia was out fulfilling a New Years Eve tradition when she stumbled across an unconscious man. A man that would change her life. But not before her suspicions are raised. See the man knows his name but doesn’t remember anything else & he’s not injured. So what happened? At first she feels the need to keep an eye on him. And eventually feelings developed making for an interesting story. Isaiah literally stumbles into the laps of those in Emerald Hollow. He knows his name but doesn’t know who he is. Hoping and trying to see if someone is looking for him. He adapts to life as he currently knows it. Helping out at Emerald House is the least he could do for Ash’s trouble. Sofia thought perks his interest and as much as he wants to know he better he knows she is skeptical of him. Will she let him in? This story is told from the point of view of Ash, Holly, Isaiah and mainly Sofia. But despite that it’s Isaiah and Sofia’s story. Holly and Ash as supporting characters this time around. Though I can’t say that Holly might have some influence on the story. But you will just have to read to confirm or deny it. Hope you enjoy!!
This is the 3rd book in the Life Is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. This book takes on the characters of Oren, a demon hunter and deputy sheriff, and Teivel, a demon tracker. There are sparks flying between these 2, but a lot needs to be said and done before they can try to become a couple. All of the previous characters and a lot of new characters were introduced in this book. Oren and Teivel end up getting a baby dropped off with them for safe keeping. They end up being able to keep the baby. There is a lot packed into this book and a lot of character development. For me, this was the best book so far. I love Oren and Teivel. This is an M/M book with such sweet little tidbits of things along the way. I’m so happy that Oren is the focus of this story. I was curious to what powers the demon hunters have. I was also curious to see how Oren’s and Tievel’s relationship would work. Larkspur is a hoot! I cannot wait to see what other beings we are introduced to in the next story.

This was such a great sequel! I was really looking forward to this book and could not wait for it to be released. I love the feel good books that read like a Hallmark movie. I definitely recommend reading the first book before this one. It really helps to have the background of the characters. We go back to Emerald Hollow and follow Sofia and meet some new characters too. I like that you get to read from different points of view. It really gives different perspectives to the people in the story. I am excited to see if the author will take us back to Emerald Hollow because it does leave it open somewhat. Such a sweet read!
This is the next addition to the Life is Hell series and while it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the first two books just so you have the background for everyone and so that you understand the whys and whats of the storyline. This is definitely a slow burn and while it wasn’t my favorite of the series so far, Valkyrie definitely knows what she’s doing when it comes to paranormal romances. I really liked getting to know Teivel’s character better…he really intrigued me in the other stories but I felt that his and Oren’s story was rushed in the end. I would have like to seen the ending to their story more developed. It felt a bit thrown together (and personally, I’m not happy about what happens at the end but I won’t spoil it for anyone ;)). As always, I love how Valkyrie continues to incorporate her characters from previous stories and how she teases characters that *might* be coming up in future stories. Second in the Magical Emerald Hollow series. I was fascinated with Isaiah and his story. Sofia is a bit of handful and it makes for an intriguing character. All the favorites from the first book are in this one. Would be a wonderful read for relaxing outside with a book.
I don’t know how this author completely knocks it out of the park every single time, but I am here for it! This series is one of my favorites of the year. Teivel and Oren are absolutely incredible in this book. I would recommend picking up the first two books in the series so you can gain all of the background as well as meet the characters and learn their stories. I am a giant fan of dual points of view, and we get plenty of it in this one. Oren and Teivel are my favorites thus far, so I was more than happy to devour this book in a single sitting! Their chemistry is unbelievable and unpredictable. This author is on my favorites list because she never ceases to amaze me! I know that when I see her name on the cover, there’s no doubt in my mind that I’m picking it up and going on a unique adventure. I highly recommend picking this one up (and the first two) and getting lost in this paranormal romance, you won’t regret it!

I love love LOVE this series. Each book is one that I cannot put down. This is book three of five in the series and I cannot wait to read the other two. These will definitely be books that I read over and over. There have been other books by this author that I have enjoyed as well. With each book I’ve read, she has moved closer and closer to the top of my favorite author list. I would say top 10 for sure, maybe top 5. And I read a lot of books. We were introduced to Teivel in the very first book. But now, we see more of his story. I love that each book is a different character, but still, all of the characters tie together in a way. It’s one world, but with a fresh take from a different characters POV. The world building and character building is top notch. If you like paranormal reads, this is for you.

Finding Cheer (Magical Emerald Hollow Series) by Heather Schneider. I love this series, its so magical and fun. In this addition we return to Emerald Hollow and find Sofia who has had her heart broken so she is very afraid to let anyone in. While Sofia is on her annual birthday hike she runs into a guy that is passed out. His name is Isaiah and Sofia and her friend Ash give him the medical attention he needs. The only problem is when he comes to, he doesn’t know who he is. Sofia is intrigued so she sets out to help him find his identity. She is very attracted to him but is very cautious. As Sofia spends more and more time with Isaiah she really likes him and the feelings are mutual. Will she be brave and let him in? Isaiah is really a mystery because he doesn’t even know who his is. Will they be able to find out who he is and why he is in Emerald Hollow.
Here we are, back in Emerald Hollow. Sophia finds a man who has no recollection of who me is or why he is in Emerald Hollow. Isaiah is quickly becoming a friend to all the locals and a Hugh help to Ash.
This book will have you on another magical journey. Very fun and engaging, will have you turning the pages rapidly. While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the books in order.
Finding Cheer is the second book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series, and while probably COULD be read as a standalone, I definitely would recommend reading Chasing Cheer first, so that you already know and love some of the main characters. This will also help set the stage for understanding some of the magic in Emerald Hollow! I loved getting to know Sophie more in this story! Chasing Cheer is all about Holly and Ash, with Sophie as a sweet sidekick; in Finding Cheer, you get to know more about Sophie’s story and background and grow to love her even more. Meeting Isaiah give Sophie the opportunity to grow beyond her comfort zone and confront some of her past. The magic Holly brings to the table creates the coziest little Hallmark-style town in Oregon that I desperately wish were real! Truly, a fun, cozy read, and I loved that it’s not a strictly Christmas Holiday book, too. Finding Cheer is a great Springtime read!
I’m ready to move to Emerald Hollow!! Holly Claus is back in this book and things are looking like spring. Sofia is also back and she comes across a man in the woods who isn’t sure who or where he is. Isaiah could be a con man in Sofia’s eyes but she’s also hoping that he’s legit.
This is a very sweet, mostly clean (there is “mild” swearing) romance novel. I do recommend reading the first book so you get a full background on Holly and Emerald Hollow but it’s not absolutely necessary in order to enjoy this story.
This is a fun series and I’ll patiently wait to see who we will get to meet next!
I read this as a standalone and was not confused but it was great book I will be going back and reading the first one. I was invested in the book, cheering for Sofia, curious about Isaiah, fawning over how cute Ash & Holly are. I loved how the chapters were told by their different point of views so that you could really tell how they were all feeling. By having the multiple points of view you see why Sofia is apprehensive to have feelings for another person, especially someone with no memories prior to when she found him in the woods, you know how Isaiah is trying to figure out who he was while also realizing that maybe he was found here for a reason. Plus you get to see a little behind what is going on with Ash and Holly, and how they are also supportive of Sofia. I personally love when a story brings together multiple genres, with this book having romance, mystery and magic, it was a fun read.

Hell In A Handbasket is the third book in Naomi Valkyrie’s Life Is Hell Series. This one follows Oren and Teivel. The characters from the first two books are supporting characters throughout the story this time. Oren is a demon hunter who didn’t grow up knowing he was a hunter. He is looking for information about his legacy. Teivel is a tracker demon Oren is attracted to. Naomi Valkyrie did a great job with these characters. I recommend checking out not only this series but her other series as well.
