Finding Cheer is the second book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series by Heather Schneider. After enjoying the first book in the series, Chasing Cheer, I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to dive into the second instalment for another charming read. This is an engaging, sweet (paranormal) romance, with a touch of magic, intrigue, a little mystery, some forced proximity, chemistry, sparks, drama, secrets, discoveries, and endearing characters. Again, as with the first book- I can see this making a great movie too. After Holly Claus came to Emerald Hollow (previous book) things have certainly taken an interesting turn, that’s for sure. But, this story focuses on Sofia Reyes, a slightly jaded local who will find fate has a special plan for her- one she’s a little skeptical about to begin with. But fate won’t be denied. Add in some magic, mystery, tension, and emotion- and this charming read takes a captivating turn. Looking forward to Book #3! Happy Reading…

I was so excited to return to Emerald Hollow and unravel another character! Holly is a full-time resident now, and there is no shortage of magic involved! But in this story, we get to know Sofia and follow her on her journey. Sofia is sweet, but has her guard up, having been hurt in the past. She does not let men in easy. However, when she found Isaiah in need, she was the woman for the job. There were sparks between her and the new stranger, but she was hesitant to act on her feelings, thinking it wouldn’t last. Isaiah is a mystery for many reasons. I loved trying to guess what would happen with him next and his story did not disappoint. This was another page-turning, fun and entertaining story! My favorite part was the loose ends at the end, meaning there should be more to come from Emerald Hollow!
I was excited to find the second book in this series. The first book was a fun read and I knew the second book would have the same kind of fun, romantic, and exciting moments. We met Holly in the first book where she ends up finding love and acceptance in Emerald Hollow a small town in Oregon. This new book is about Sofia, a well known member of the town. Sofia has had her share of romance gone wrong as so many of us experience. Sofia can’t believe what she’s seeing when she finds a man laying in the middle of a snow covered hiking trail! The strangest thing being he can’t seem to remember how he got to the snowy trail. Like the first book, I enjoyed reading about Sofia and her new friend. The author does a wonderful job of world and character building. I’m looking forward to reading more about the folks in Emerald Hollow.
I was eagerly anticipating this book…..Finding Cheer is Book 2 in the Magical Emerald Hollow series and this story was wonderful. Who would not want to live in Emerald Hollow! I highly recommend reading book 1 as you get to know the characters that lead into Finding Cheer. This story is a sweet, small town romance with sprinkle of magic, some heartfelt moments and a few twists. I am keeping my fingers crossed for more from this series…
What strange occurrence can happen when Sophia finds a random stranger in the woods suffering from amnesia….Isaiah has no recollection on how he ended up in Emerald Hollow. As Sophia and Isaiah try to piece the mystery together and find out where he is truly from…there is also strange things happening….with no explanations. As Sophia and Isaiah spend more time together, Sophia slowly breaks down her walls to her heart as she has delt with heartbreak over and over. With the help of Holly and Ash, will Isaiah find out where he comes from and will this impact the connection that Sophia and Isaiah have?
As soon as I saw this book was the sequel to the first I knew I had to read it. And I think this is even better than the last a brilliant book from start to finish. For me, this book was all about the characters. I found them so easy to connect with and completely relatable. From the moment I started reading I wanted to know more. I think the author did a fantastic job in developing this story. I was engaged with the story right away and I loved watching how everything played out. The author somehow managed to create the same joy you feel with a festive read without it feeling out of place. I loved the way it made me feel and how the story unfolded. Getting to read more about the characters from the previous book was just the icing on top. This is a brilliant book that I would highly recommend.
Another cute story in this series. we have some magic and a little mystery with some romance to top it all off. I enjoyed the story and the characters. While this one is about Sofia and her amnesia man we also get to see old friends from the last story. I like that I get to see how everyone is doing from the last book. I wonder why the tulips bloomed there? I must have missed the explanation for why there and elsewhere still had snow. Maybe it’s just a magical place.
This book was just as joyful to read as the first one. Sofia and Isiah brought so much fun, romance and entertainment to my meager life. Watching everyone, Ash and Holly included, try to figure out how to get Isiah’s memory back is magical. The writing is full of sunshine. You can feel the magic in the story. I couldn’t put it down once I started it. I am a definite fan of this series and I can’t wait for the next. Who will be next?
Secrets of the Moon is a werewolf-fated mates story. The Rousseaus pack has just moved to Wolf Creek Hollow where there are rumors of an ancient wolf bloodline that may be able to rid one of their own of a bloodlust mutation. Kyran is the wolf member with this mutation and is working with his siblings to find a cure. They decide to enroll in the local college to fit in and try to get answers about who this person could be. Many packs are living in the area, but there is no mistaking that he believes he finds the one, she just also happens to be his mate and human. Wolves and humans don’t mate so he is confused about how this could be happening.
Marjorie, the young girl who grew up in this area, is trying to get back to normal life after a severe car accident with friends a year before. When meeting Kyran for the first time, she also feels this pull, but she doesn’t understand why. She starts to recognize many strange things start to happen around her. She is warned to stay away from this new family because of their “history”, but she just sees it as jealousy. She comes to also have a similar “mated” feeling with Kyran’s twin Alexis. As she navigates these awkward feelings, she learns the truth which she is having a hard time handling. Will she be able to trust them, what does this bond mean, and what does this mean for her future? I thought the story was a little different compared to your normal werewolf tale. I liked the male characters, they were charming, honest, and a little scary, but protective and seemed to want to prove that they were worthy of being there. Marjorie, on the other hand, was an okay character. I feel there were times when she really needed to get over herself, especially when she had most of the answers in front of her. In addition, I thought the writing of the author was strange at times. I don’t know how to really explain it, but there seemed to be missing moments where I had to stop and think about why they weren’t talking about something or why they were talking about it at that moment. This is part one of the Chronicles of the Lost Clan series and the first book left many questions unanswered.

Chasing Cheer, and fell in love with Emerald Hollow. Super happy to bet back there. The first book focused on Holly and Ash. This one focused on Sofia and Isaiah. There are a few twist and unexpected surprises in this story. I’m super excited for the next installment. If you want a feel good love story, this is the series for you. 5⭐️

This is the first time enjoying work from this talented author, Kristy Centeno. I love the cover. The artwork is sooo beautiful! It really reels you in especially if you love supernatural weres. Even though the cover drew me in, the writing is what made me stay. The author has a way with words that will not only keep you on your toes but also will keep you wanting more and more. This book has a little of everything you’d want and ten times more. With paranormal/supernatural creatures, mates, werewolf/ shifters,chemistry, action, danger, intense emotions, and secrets. Speaking of which, Man Marjorie life just keeps getting turned upside down. But boy does this make for some good drama 😂 I can’t wait to read more of the series and more of the author’s other works. They look just as good as this one was.

I was drawn to this book by the gorgeous cover, and once I read the synopsis knew I had to pick it up! I enjoyed that this was a little longer than most of the books I’ve read lately as I typically feel that it ends too soon. The stories in the paranormal & young adult romance genre can blend together and feel a little ‘been there done that,’ but the author really found some unique perspective to add here! The chemistry between Marjorie and Kyran is undeniable, and the tension kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. I am now pulling up other books by this author because I need more of her writing in my life! I did not see some of the twists coming and loved every turn I was thrown. If you are looking for an amazing YA romance with a strong dose of the paranormal, look no further because this is your next read!

I absolutely loved getting to go back to Emerald Hollow and getting to learn more about Sofia, who I thought was an interesting character from the first book, so I was excited to see her take center stage in her own story! I did still love that we got to peek in and see how Holly and Ash are doing, as well as Holly’s digging into the ancient secrets of the town. Sophia and Isaiah are such a cute pair, even as Sophia is concerned he is a con artist, she is still extremely attracted and drawn to him. I loved the split POV’s so we can see what each of the characters are thinking and feeling. The author continues to bring magic in her writing and I am hoping there is a few more stories left to be shared from Emerald Hollow. This is a very cute series and while you could read book 2 standalone, it will make a lot more sense to start with the first book.
This book was an absolute must read, I really enjoyed the aspect of the whole romance fantasy mixed in together. This book grabbed me from the beginning, and I couldn’t stop till I read the whole thing.it was very engaging and packed with so much from one page to the next. It was very hard to put it down, I really felt like I was really in the story it was so well written that I feel lie I was there with the characters and watching everything happen. It had everything from romance, werewolves, danger, action, suspense, and so much more, it was so gripping. The characters were so amazingly written hat I felt like I really know who each and everyone of them were. The back stories on each were something that I really enjoyed learning. This book was incredible I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next one.

I really love finding new authors as well as a new series. I absolutely love werewolf romances and this definitely hit the spot. I like how the author is able to bring the characters to life and grab the reader by the shirt tales. I really was unable to put this book down. The author is able to weave a story and has a unique twist to it. It was definitely a breath of fresh air for me. The romance is evened out with a bit of drama. The characters are also very relatable and well written. I felt as though I was right there with them and look forward to seeing how this series unfolds. I will definitely be reading more from this author and series in the future.

I really enjoyed this paranormal romance. It had elements that I love from warewolves, fated mates, along with secets,curses and danger that kept me gripped. This is a unique story in the sense that the fated mates have a added complication of twins, as well as one of the twins being cursed. Is Marjorie really a fated mate to both of the brothers or just one? With Kyran being cursed is she the one to cure him? The author does an amazing job with the characters and I love how we get an insight into what they both are thinking and feeling. This really made the characters come alive for me. I could feel the connection and pull that Kyran and Marjorie have towards each other without Marjorie understanding why, I could feel Kyran’s pain as he struggles to deal with the curse that could cause fatal consequences to those around him and I felt every ounce of guilt and regret that Marjorie feels after one incident almost cost the lives of her and her friends. There are so many secrets and lies that need to be unravelled and exposed and with a mystery person stalking Marjorie things take a dangerous turn. I thought that Marjorie and Kyran would end up as fully fated mates but the author has left that up in the air. Will she be with Kyran or his twin brother Alexis? I really enjoyed this story and I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens to them and how the story unfolds.

Secrets of the Moon (Chronicles of the Lost Child Series) by Kristy Centeno . This is a great 1st book to the Chronicles of the Lost Child series. I can’t wait to read the next one. Its the story of Marjorie who was in a really bad car accident that severely injured herself and several of her friends. Several months later Marjorie is still haunted by the accident because she was behind the wheel and because it left on of her best friends in a wheelchair. She beats herself up daily and on top of that her family has been put thru the ringer financially and they don’t let her forget it. When Kyran Rousseau walks onto her school campus she is smitten. He’s gorgeous and everyone on campus is enthralled by him. Marjorie is especially drawn to Kyran but so is everyone else. Marjorie is so intuitive and can tell that Kyran is full of secrets and so is his family. Kyran knows Marjorie is his mate but with his mood swings and erratic behavior Marjorie isn’t sure about him. Not realizing she is in imminent danger Kyran will protect at every cost! This is a great werewolf love story. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Another enjoyable and engaging sweet fantasy romance set in the magical small town of Emerald Hollow, which kept me happily turning the pages. Holly Claus, the main character from the previous book is now permanently living in Emerald Hollow. The small town is experiencing unusual occurrences, including tulip super blooms and an influx of people visiting the magical festivals held there. When a man shows up during a snowstorm with amnesia local Sofia Reyes is skeptical of his story and his lack of past memories. Sofia offers to help him discover his identity, however the more time they spend together the less she can ignore her attraction to him. Their relationship develops as they get to know one another better following trips to the library and to the epic tulip festival. Sofia also feels a magical pull towards him which he also feels, but she’s worried about risking her heart on someone whose past is a mystery to them both. Meanwhile, Holly is about to uncover some magical secrets which are decades old and which will affect the human residents of the town. Once again the magical town and its residents are brought vividly to life through the wonderful narrative and imaginative world building. I felt fully immersed in Emerald Hollow and enjoyed ‘catching up’ with Holly and Ash, but also loved the main characters of this story, Sofia and love interest Isaiah. I like the multiple POV’s and the magical realism which is sprinkled through the story. I look forward to returning to Magical Emerald Hollow soon!

Secrets of the Moon is a YA paranormal story full of drama, danger, suspense, action, secrets, lies, romance, and werewolves. The storyline is exquisitely written with vivid scene descriptions that pull you in and fully immerse you into the story. The characters are real, raw, multi-faceted, and intriguing. From the first few pages I became completely engrossed with the story and it kept my attention until the end. The story starts off with Marjorie who has been in a car accident that left her, and her friends severely injured. Thirteen months later she is still feeling guilt over the accident but has forged forward which is a testament to her strength and resilience. When Kyran arrives in town Marjorie is attracted to him, but his constant mood swings and broody attitude has her wondering if he is mutually interested in her. Kyran knows Marjorie is his mate but is unable to pursue her due to a genetic defect. He does feel the need to protect her from the threat and imminent danger that she is in. Can these two ever have a future together? A great read that leaves me anxious to read the next book.

I loved this book as much as the first one in the series. The first book follows Ash and Holly’s story and this second book follows Sophia and Isaiah’s story, although Ash and Holly are also main characters in this one too. Sophia is out on a hike to memorialize her mom when she finds an unconscious man on the trail. She wakes Isaiah up and he has no memory of who he is or how he got to those woods. After tests there is no brain injury and he leaves the hospital to find Sophia hoping something will come back. He stays in Emerald Hollow and he has some instincts that he knows about himself but no memories and no leads on missing persons. Sophia has a difficult past with men and she has a hard time trusting him, but as they get to know each other she starts to open up even though she has reservations. I loved reading about Sophia’s jewelry business and the WanderLost line. I wish there were some drawings or sketches in the book. I loved that this book also included Holly and Ash and some of the characters from the first book. It was just a sweet and magical story that I couldn’t put down!

I have always been a fan of anything paranormal and/or fantasy, so of course I picked this up as soon as I found it. Overall, I loved Kristy’s ability to put you right there in the settings with the characters, and I loved the characters themselves so much. This book is definitely slow going sometimes, but wholeheartedly worth the read. I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure of reading Kristy’s work previously, but I’ll definitely be checking out more from her, as well as book two as soon as I can find it!

Secrets of the Moon is the first instalment in the Chronicles of the Lost Child series by Kristy Centeno. As I have loved everything I have read by this author, so far, there was never any question of whether I would be reading this book or not. I snapped up a copy the moment I saw it had been released, and then jumped right in the instant it hit my Kindle. I am always so excited to begin exploring Ms. Centeno’s work- and this was no exception. Because I love Ms. Centeno’s books, I had really high expectations going into this story, as her previous books have been amazing — so I was really excited to see what lay in store for us here. Again, as with her other books, this is a highly original and exciting paranormal romantic suspense, with werewolves/shifters, adventure, action, danger, intrigue, mystery, dramatic developments, violence, agendas, interesting lore & legends, and palpable emotion. This was an engaging story, and Ms. Centeno managed to pack so much between the covers of this book- making for a very gripping read. She hooked me right from the word go- and I didn’t come up for air till I had read every last word. Ms. Centeno has written such an engrossing, detailed, and wonderfully dynamic story- that I was completely caught up in all the developments. She had me avidly reading the whole way through, as the story is very original, creative, and imaginative. The characters have been crafted into fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. They really brought the whole story to life and added so much more depth and ‘flavour’ to the whole ‘adventure’. But there were moments where I wanted to scream and shake them as the angsty push-pull ramped up the further into the story I got. It was so frustrating, and at times it felt like ‘manufactured drama’. Going into the book I thought that Marjorie and Kyran would come through in the end as (fully) fated mates, but everything is still up in the air- with her having a ‘bond’ with both twins. I got to the end and will now have to wait to find out what fate has in store for Marjorie, Alexis, and Kyran – so the next book can’t get here quick enough. #teamKyran I did have issues with this book that I don’t remember encountering in her previous books. Little things that distracted me or pulled me out of the storyline- to the point where I would re-read passages to confirm what I had read. Things such as a few contradictions/conflicting information, editing issues where some sentences were missing words, or sentences didn’t make sense. I felt like the editing/Beta-reading process let Ms. Centeno down just a little. But luckily these issues didn’t detract from my over-all enjoyment of the story – but now I need the next book STAT lol. If you love paranormal romances with gripping & suspenseful storylines, intriguing characters, original lore & legends- then you will definitely want to dive into this series. Happy Reading…

This is the second book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series, but I read this one first by accident! I didn’t feel lost, but I will definitely go back and pick the first book up so that I can get the full experience. This was an absolute delight to read! I loved the small town feel with the added magical feature as it made it both relatable and unique at the exact same time. I truly love the witty conversations between Sofia and Isaiah, and their chemistry is quite obvious. This is a sweet and clean romance which is refreshing as it gets a bit difficult to find these now it seems. I will be looking for more from this author and picking up the previous book in the series. If you’re looking for a lovely clean romance for your afternoon, look no further!
4.5 stars Emerald Hollow is the place to be since Holly came to town. Things are not quite what they seem. Finding Cheer is another magical delight in this paranormal series that will have you wanting to be in this sweet small town and enjoying the magic and laughing at the goings on. This wonderful sequel is a little more mysterious and is Sophia’s story. When a mysterious man turns up Sophie can’t explain this strange pull, she has towards him, but it is mighty inconvenient especially when he doesn’t know who he is or does he? It is a sweet, heartwarming and fun tale and underneath there is Ash and Holly’s story which is ongoing. What will happen when she uncovers old magical secrets? Finding Cheer is a little raw and a little more emotional than the first book as there is heartache, loss and heartbreak, healing and hope just to mention a few. There is also a little twist of a surprise tucked in there that I didn’t see. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger but there are some unanswered questions that I am sure we will get in the next book which I can’t wait for.
Finding Cheer: Paranormal Women’s Fiction Cozy Fantasy Novel is the second book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series. I was excited to see another book in this series. Holly and Ash are back, as are others who appeared in the first book. The focus of this story, though, falls on Sofia and a mysterious fella who finds himself in Emeral Hollow. I was glad to see Sofia get her moment in the spotlight and to meet a new character. Like in the first book, some mysterious and unusual happenings happen in town. What has caused the unusual tulip blooms? Holly is figuring out some of the magical history of the town and more. This is a great series to grab if you enjoy magic, romance, and the small-town atmosphere. This could be enjoyed as a standalone, but best enjoyed when read in order. I hope to read more from this author soon and hopefully more from this fun and unique series.
So I grabbed this because I have read other stories by this author and loved them. This was sadly did not fall into that category for me. It is long..like really long and gives daily details that are somewhat unnecessary to the overall storyline.
The story is told in a way that keeps the reader as well as the main female lead in the dark. Doling out bits n pieces here and there but not really answering questions and always falling back into the relationship between the three. Even when the story is told from Kyran side nothing is revealed as he keeps secrets very well and not even his inner thoughts tell on him. The last half of the book we get a lot of action and movement from all the characters which is exciting but that ending just smashed it for me.
Overall this one reminds me a lot of Twilight series. Set in a college atmosphere, her family leaves her alone, back and forth interest between 3 parties and a werewolf clan who moved in to town. The beginning easily drew me in and the last portion is thrilling. There is a definite connection between the three that is as confusing to me as it is to them. Then after almost 500 pages there is no conclusion…very frustrating.
