This is a new author to me and is the first book in a YA Paranormal series I had not heard of until I saw the cover. It reminded me a lot of another book cover, so I picked it up. I’m glad I did because this is a really good book. I love that the main character is such a strong female that doesn’t just wait for something to happen. She takes charge. And with a lot of superb skills of the supernatural powers. I love all the twists and turns along the way of this story but cannot wait to continue with the next book in the series. Once I started this book I didn’t want to put it down. I highly recommend this book for young adults and adults that love the YA paranormal genre.

This is a very good audio. If you like dangers, dragons, mystery with a strong female character this is for you! I loved Dahlia’s snappy no nonsense attitude. She is quite bad azz! When Dahlia escapes her own execution and flees her home, she lives then among the human population. There are murders in Sentinal City and she tries to help solve them while not revealing whom she is. Love the mystery and twists in this story. The narrator is fantastic in this audio!

Lucy’s life changes dramatically after the sudden death of her mother. After a life filled with drama, Lucy craves calmness, but that is certainly not what she gets. Moving in with her two uncles brings new discoveries along with new complications.
I really enjoyed this story. It took me a little while to get stuck in, but once I did I couldn’t put it down. The characters in the book are complex and far from ordinary, which I loved. Lucy in particular is a strong character, and with everything going on she needs to be. I also very much enjoyed the love triangle, it would have been good to hear the story from their point of view too. The twists and turns in this will keep you hooked until the end.

This was a new series for me to begin, honestly, I should have had some popcorn by my side as I read through it, it was very well written the characters were very likeable, and the events that take place made this a fast read through, and easily gets the reader under the spell! I went to read this at first as I’m a female that identifies in a goth sense love. Plus I love ravens with a passion. So the cover truly drew me in, and then as I read on, I truly fell in love with this wonderful book!
This was a very fun read with a lot of surprising twists, I did not expect at random times. Lucy I cant not say how awesome she is enough. She is a tough cookie, but saying that to describe her is a understatement She is her own person who stands her ground, doesn’t take crud from well anyone even her family. She goes through a traumatic event towards the beginning that forever shapes her path, and though there are two sides she can choose depending what she is drawn to she wants to make her decisions her own. Not what’s right or what’s best and most certainly not what someone else is deciding for her.
For me what truly started my captivation amount the story line for Lucy was the love triangle. I grew up being obsessed with Jacob and Edward from the novel Twilight, but this one went so much on a deeper level and so much extreme. The two love interests, Marcus and Dylan really added a lot of twists and turns. I was instantly drawn to the one interest based on the relationship and ground shared with Lucy but as I read on, I swayed to the other team, and later back etc. The author knew how to keep you interested and make you really think before making a decision. This is only a small fraction in relation to what Lucy was going through.
I must say though, when it comes down to it what I loved the most on this novel, though I loved the heroine, the love interests…all in all what truly captivated my love for this novel and my senses and truly intrigued me was why Lucy is wanted on all ends. Everyone seemed to want to turn her to their side, and use her as a powerful ally against the other sides. Be it witches or demons etc.
Leading up to the well put together ending, I was left beyond interested to put a small word. I was shocked for me personally by how things all came out in the soup pot at the end, some things I kin of expected, or something similar and others I was blown literally out of the water. All in all, this author wrote a very captivating book! And yes I will be happily awaiting for the next in the series for what Lucy and her companions will face next. If I learned anything about Lucy, its that she can handle anything that comes her way! She will be ready, always!
Thank you to this wonderful author for giving me a thrilling, entertaining, and fun read! I look forward to the next one. I truly enjoyed this book, and I’m so very happy I got to experience the adventure. 🙂 It was a well worth reading book, and I cant stress that enough to everyone else. Please, read this and see what I am talking about, as this is not a book series to be missed 🙂

If 4.5 stars was a thing, I would have done that! Pauline has a way with telling a story that hooks you from the first sentence. Lucy, our MC, has never had a normal life – but things get so much more insane when she moves to Chicago to live with her two uncles. You get the magical history that she knows nothing about, the insanely attractive guys everywhere she goes, and a big ol’ dash of excitement in every chapter. I read this whole thing in just a few hours and will be continuing the series as soon as possible because I need to know what happens next. Between Marcus and Dylan, Lucy learning to harness her witch and demon sides, and the mystery of what lies ahead – why would you not want to read this series?

I enjoyed my first audible by this author. It is full of action, mystery and suspense. I enjoyed the narrator’s voice as well as how it changed with the different characters. This story is about someone who has had to leave their home to protect their safety but when things lead back to home, things may never be the same again. One of the things I enjoy most about this author is her imagination in her books. They are fun and entertaining. Listening to this just made the story all the more fun. The narrator kept me listening and engaged. I really enjoyed this audible and highly recommend it.

The Girl and the Raven: A YA Paranormal Romance by Pauline Gruber is a well written YA story. It is so easy to connect with this book and become involved with the story. I thought Lucy was such a relatable character. Even with her newfound gifts she still felt very much like a girl trying to find her place. And that is something every girl can relate to! This is a new author to me and I was surprised by how refreshing her take on this genre was. I enjoyed every part of this book from the moment I started reading. I would definitely recommend this author and I am looking toward to discovering more of her work.

This book is fantastic! I devoured it in one sitting, and have already started on Book 2.
The writing is engaging, and the plot hums along at a good pace. I love how Gruber has drawn the characters – they are each so unique and are intricately drawn. The book is by turns suspenseful, hilarious, and romantic. The interplay between the two potential love interests, Marcus and Dylan, had me switching back and forth deciding which to root for! Jude is frighteningly intelligent and his character brings drama and humour to the story. There’s some layers here that I appreciated, setting it on a higher level of writing in my opinion. Buy the book!

Flash Point: Nite Fire Volume I Audio book by C.L. Schneider is an exciting and detailed fantasy story that I was pulled into from the start. The opening chapter of this book was so well done, I knew I wouldn’t be able to leave this book without finding out what was going to happen.
Ilove all the myriad of characters, it made the book so diverse. And the blending of fantasy and reality was done effortlessly.
The narrator for this book has to be my favourite by far! The enthusiasm and passion that went into her telling of the story was just amazing. I think even if the book hadn’t been exciting she would have made it so.
Everything about this book is absolutely perfect and I cannot wait to start the second.

Lucy Walker is your typical fifteen year old girl who lives with her mum, but that is where her normality ends, she lives in a trailer park and her mum is an addict, she spends the household budget on beer and drugs, albeit she says she is trying to get clean and Lucy dreads it when she goes to school or anywhere because of the looks and taunts she receives. I normally don’t read alot of romance books but this story did not disappoint. It was the perfect combination of romance and spells that I needed. I have always loved books about witches and this book really brings out the loyalties that lie within a coven. I fell in love with characters, especially Cassie, and I can’t wait to continue reading more books from this author.

Of Fire & Bone is the third book in the Of Magic & Scales series by Natalina Reis. To say I was excited to get my hands on this book is an under statement. I was so excited about this book I read it in one day. Once I started I couldn’t stop. I highly suggest reading the first two books if you haven’t already as they are just as wonderful as this one. Aiden and Nael , Aiden is a much better person than he once was and struggles with that and has no desire to ever be that person again. Nael makes him want to be a better person . He’s beginning to realize that maybe he didn’t know as much about somethings as he thought he did . Can he forgive and move on? These two and there love for one another made my heart so happy. They really are great together. Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Great book to indulge your senses that was easy to read and understand. Very easily a page-turner from the beginning. These characters are easy to love and give you so much to look forward to. The fantasy element makes it unpredictable. I love how entertaining it was that I couldn’t put it down. Very original but interesting!

Grave Digger Academy is the last place you want to end up when applying to schools. When the schools Makayla applied to all reject her this is where she ends up. Why did she get rejected by all three schools? Her grades weren’t the greatest, but surely they weren’t that horrible either? Follow Makayla as she navigates her way through some bizarre circumstances and finds out her true family history.
This was a fun paranormal YA book. I honestly was unsure what I was picking up to read as I purely chose the book based off of the title alone. This is definitely geared toward an early teen or preteen audience, but is still enjoyable for anyone above that age category. I look forward to seeing what Makayla and her classmates get up to in the next installment.

This was a great continuation of the series, and it’s full of romance, feels, suspense, and tons of twists and turns. Or at least, I thought there were several twists and turns. I also laughed a good bit while reading this book too. You’ll definitely fall in love with all of the zany characters that are in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and I can’t wait to read the next installment!

This is an author I never hesitate to pick up. This book is part of the series Life in Hell which is just as awesome if not better than the previous books. I highly suggest that you read the previous books in this series to help your enhancement of this series. I loved this book and can’t wait to see what is next. This is a well written story that has characters that give the story life. They are strong, determined and really just made the story for me. This is an engaging, fast paced story that pulled me in from the first word. This book is about Hadassah who has been sent to earth because she did the unforgivable thing by sharing her powers with her brother. She finds herself on the run and who is determined not to let her heart go the dog shifter. He has taught her to love despite her determination not to. What will fate have in store for her? I highly recommend reading this book to find out. It really is an awesome book that has characters that made the story feel realistic and fun to read. It is a must read and so is this series.

This is the third book in the Of Magic & Scales series by Natalina Reis. If you have not read the other two books, I highly suggest them as they are just as good as this one. The storyline is full of adventure and paranormal elements. Ms. Reis does an amazing job of grabbing the reader and pulling them into her story with her characters. Speaking of characters, they are fully developed and complex in nature. This is the journey of Aiden and Nael, his boyfriend. Aiden needs to stop Baburaj, a wicked god, and his mother Jhanvi. They have plans for Aiden but all Aiden wants to do is spend some quiet time with his boyfriend. Will Aiden be able to spend quiet time with Nael or will his mother and Baburaj get their way? You will have to read this story to the answer to this and much more.

This is the third book in this series and brings all the characters together. This is a nicely written MM story filled with magic, mayhem and a lot of one on one (if you get my drift) between the two main characters. I didn’t love this a I struggled to really *feel for the characters. Luckily I have read a previous story in this series so I had that to get a feel for them. The story is good. It mixes action, suspense and all those smexy times.
We do get to see all the characters from oast books. See where they are now and who they are with. I think my fav secondary characters is Taz. I don’t car much for witches but her attitude overrides that and makes her an enjoyable character. Silva would be my second. He has some good humor.

If you like Paranormal/Romance this book is for you. This was a very good, easy read. The story starts in 1974 when Cassie is trying to get away from her brother. She summons help to get away and is missing 45 years. When she reappears, she comes across a house where she meets Nick Felson. Even though at first he was tough, unsure and wants nothing to do with is magic, he falls for Cassie. I love how they were meant to be together. There were a few twists, turns, secrets along the way that unfolds and brought together a very good book. Looking forward to continuing the series!

Tangled Roots by Denise D. Young is a great first installment to what I believe is going to be a magical roller coaster witchy series. Personally this is my first read by Ms. Young but boy oh boy was I not disappointed. Ms. young not only provides us with a fantastic story, but she also gives us very detailed character descriptions, and a wonderful budding relationship between the main characters. This book was so wonderfully written that it kept me flipping the pages faster then I could blink to see what happens next. So if your looking for a great new paranormal series I highly recommend Tangled Roots.

This is beautiful story about two lost souls. Cassie And Nick find each other at the most unexpected time, but the right time. Nick is currently living in present day and trying to escape a town based on gossip and assumptions. Unable to take the whispers any longer he plans to sell his grandma‘s home and start fresh away from the whispering words. As he’s preparing for his new life he then meets Cassie, Cassie is from 1974. At a time that she should be young and free she’s being imprisoned and abused by her family. She’s a witch who wants to explore her magical abilities, but her family does not allow her to do so. In her unhappy state she runs away and finds refuge within a witch coven. Her new found freedom is short-lived when her brother is sent to find her, and desperation causes her to do the unthinkable, As we watch from past to present we experience true friendship, first love, and unforgettable magic.

I just love paranormal romances and this book hit the spot. I like how the author spins the story. The supernatural element to this book really adds to drama. The characters really come to life and entice the reader in.
Cassie and Nick have such a powerful chemistry in this book. Their journey of discovery and getting together is just empowering. Along the way they have an evil to overcome and a past as well. I really was hooked on this book and couldn’t put it down. I look forward to reading more from the author in future.

Tangled Roots (Witches of Willow Creek: Tangled Magic Series Book 1) by Denise D. Young has captured my fancy and is not letting go. Anyone who is a fan of time travel stories (like Outlander) and witchy fiction (such as Practical Magic) will fall in love with this story, which is set in the small town of Willow Creek, Virginia. Cassie Gearhart is a fantastic female protagonist and an easy character to relate to, even if she is a witch who has been asleep for 45 years. And then there’s Nick; the grandson of Cassie’s former High Priestess, and the only witch left alive to represent the coven. The author is an artist the way she weaves 1974 and 2019 together via Cassie. The imagery and details are rich and poignant, and Tangled Fates, book number 2, is next on my to-be-read list. I highly recommend this book and author with 5 stars!

This was a great first book in the Tangled Magic series. I love how the author combines paranormal and romance and how the author creates characters that are believable.
Cassie is a witch. After escaping her family she becomes part of a Coven at Willow Creek. When her brother comes to get her and bring her home she casts a spell for help so her brother can’t find her. That was in 1974.
Fast forward to 2019 and Cassie finds herself awake back in Willow Creek and nothing is how she remembers it. Cassie meets Nick. Nick turns out to be the grandson of her former priestess of her Coven. Nick is reluctant to have anything to do with magic but as much as they try something magical is drawing them together.
Why are they drawn to each other? What happened to Cassie’s Coven? What magical force is working to push them together and what dark force is working to destroy them all.
