I love paranormal and fantasy books, so I had high hopes for this one right off the bat. I’m happy to say that Courtney Davis knocked this out of the park! Everything about The Serpent and the Firefly makes me want to leave reality behind and just stay hidden in their magically crafted world. This story flows so perfectly that it played like a movie in my head. It was easy to tune everything out and lose myself in Jade and Baal’s lives. I feel like fans of urban fantasy and the supernatural will adore this book.

I enjoyed the book and the authors writing style. This is an urban fantasy that has non-stop action with a realistic feel. With the excellent writing and attention to detail the characters and plot really made me feel like I was there in the story. The story is filled with prophecy, magic, shifters, Fae, other supernatural elements, demons, angles, secrets, danger, revenge, drama, chemistry, romance, humor, quirky moments, and sooooo much more. Literally everything you would want in a book to keep you captivated. The MC heroine’s character has their entire life turned upside down and is faced with all new challenges and rules. I would say that some characters are morally grey which are always my favorite. The heroine is attracted to the bad guys and trouble always seems to find her. One of the main struggles she faces is her ex putting a hit out for her, so she must go into witness protection. So many ulterior motives mixed with love and prophecy.
Definitely a fan of Courtney Davis’s writing, and will continue to read her books! Also, will recommend this book to anyone wanting an excellent magical read that transports you out of reality!

Theresa continues to impress me with this original high stake’s series. Soul Redeemed is another unique continuation and the fifth book in the War of Destiny series. Make sure you start with Lost Souls book one in this epic series and work your way through each one as the build on from each other. Get ready to devour this dark vampiric paranormal fantasy story. The characters are well written have depth and well developed. Theresa’s world building is skilfully built and carefully crafted. The plot is fast-paced and is as gripping as it is engaging. It is a multilayered tale full of action, tension, intense danger, intrigue, imagination and twist and turns that you will find hard to put this book down. Once again, the vividness allows the reader to enjoy every nuance of Theresa’s storytelling. Soul Redeemed is built a solid foundation that has been skilfully woven into an exciting story. I am not going to share the details because Theresa’s words need to be taken in like a fine wine to let you draw your own picture through your own imagination. I really enjoy this paranormal romance; it has a bit of everything – action, magic, paranormal creatures, good vs. Evil, secrets, a dash of romance and more!
My favourite character is Baal, I love that he’s not the typical hero character we root for. His interactions with others are interesting and his ‘flaws’ make him more lovable to me.
There is a lot of action which I love meaning there are no dull moments. However, there were moments when it felt a little too fast-paced and a little rushed. There were also parts which I felt needed further development to add more depth to the characters (to give them more growth) but despite this, the plot is original and creative, and I couldn’t put this book down!
I enjoyed it but think that had the plot progressed more slowly, for example with a second book, the characters would have that development to give them more depth. Overall, this was an original and enjoyable read with a lot of potential.

This book is a fast paced fantasy story that is action packed from start to finish. There is so much going on with this story and the characters are right in the middle of it. I enjoyed the premise of this story. I think the author has created an exciting story that is easy to engage with. The characters fit perfectly with the story and I thought they connection was so well crafted. This is an author I am newly familiar with and I am definitely enjoying her work so far. Each book I well written and I never fail to enjoy the story. This is a great book and I would certainly recommend it.

Healing Kiss is a paranormal romance and not my normal genre of choice. That being said, I actually enjoyed this book more than I thought that I would. Lillian Milano has a special gift; she can heal the sick by drawing energy from the healthy. When authorities in an organization called Kinetica catch wind of her paranormal gift, she goes into hiding with the alias “Zoey Mills”. Kinetica wants to do research in order to use Lillian’s power for awful reasons. Unfortunately Hannah, her sister, has become gravely ill and is in desperate need of a miracle. Even Lillian’s power can not help her sister, and while in the hospital, she meets Tristan King. Tristan is in need of help himself, and they strike a deal. As time goes on, they become closer. This book is filled with drama, trust and distrust, suspense and action with sides of psychic ability and elements of loss and fear. I gave a 4 star only because of how predictable I found this to be, and the cliche of “girl in distress wins over the handsome billionaire”, but overall still a good read.

The author of this book takes an extremely unique spin on the story of when the first sin happened. It was a pretty interesting story however I think I got lost while reading it and my anticipation of what would come next made it really rough to follow along. Very creative take on the story. The Serpent and The Firefly is the first work by Courtney Davis that I have ever read and it will definitely not be the last! Her characters are so dynamic and fun to get to know. I really enjoyed Jade and her backstory of why she was put in witness protection. I loved how she and Baal played off each other. I could not put this book down for anything! Davis makes you need to know what happens next by giving all her characters different angles. A wonderful paranormal romance that has everything you could ever want from a bada$$ king of Hell, to demons, shifters, and fae with different realms that are just so unique! A must read for any lover of the supernatural!

What a different yet modern day Retelling of the Creation of the world. Lucifer re-enters the world as we know it now. His life is completely turned upside down when his father sends him back to the Garden of Eden. Adam is not who I thought he was. He is abusive and all together needs a backbone of respect for Eve and those around him. As Eve is so much stronger and independent. This Retelling in modern day is spot on. I am a Christian and found this story to be humorous and easy to follow. Some of it was heart wrenching and yet again it was still worth my listening too. The author is creative and knows what she is writing about. Some may disagree, but for me it was well worth reading/listening to. I found this story enjoyable and found it to be informative, LOL. Life is too short to take everything too seriously. We all know the story, this is just a different way of looking at things. A Story reinvented and enjoyable.

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the start. This is the fifth book in the series which I highly suggest reading the previous books, it will help you enjoy this author and the characters as well. This is a well written story that took me on an adventure to the end. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world. They are connectable and made the story entertaining to read. Julia is such a great character and is my favorite. You don’t want to miss what happens to her in this final installment of the series. There is great growth in the plot which makes the story easy to read. This is a fast paced fantasy story that is hard to put down. I really enjoyed how easily the story progressed. The characters were very well developed and had great depth. Lillian is a nurse in hiding from the big bad Kinetica who wants her DNA to advance their power. Her sister is ill and Lillian is a healer but needs something more to heal her. Can she find that something or someone and stay off Kinetica’s radar? This is a really good paranormal romance complete with all the magic, mysticism and mystery you would hope for in this genre.

I totally devoured this story up in one sitting…totally engrossed and loved each and every page. This is a great read for anyone who loves paranormal, magic, a little bit of romance and danger and protecting loved ones at all costs.
All Lillian wants is to heal her sister, whom is in grave condition. Lillian tries to use her gift of healing but needs help along the way. When Lillian discovers someone whom may help her and her sister, it is none other than Tristan King, who is highly recognizable in society. Tristan is smart and rich but also dealing with his own family issues when it comes to mortality. When Lillian and Tristan team up, Lillian skirts around the truth while Tristan is suspicious and wants to help. With danger lurking at every corner, Lillian feels like she is looking over her shoulder constantly to make sure her family is not in danger….but will it be enough with the help of Tristan?

Healing Kiss is a paranormal romance that captured my attention. The story starts strong and keeps up the pace throughout the story. Lillian has a healing power that makes her an amazing nurse. Her powers put her at risk from a dangerous organization. Tristan King a billionaire, knows that something is different but amazing about Lillian. Will they be able to assist each other? As I mentioned, the story starts and does not stop. I was immediately drawn in and did not want to put it down. The characters are interesting, and Lillian was a mystery to me at first. I wanted to understand her power and what she was hiding from. When you add Tristan’s part of the story, it expands Lillian’s story but also helps to expand the world they live in. I enjoyed the paranormal aspects of the story, and it only added to the intrigue of the book. This was my first book by this author, but she hooked me. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Lillian Milano, who goes by Zoey, siphons energy from the healthy and gives it to the sick to heal them. An organization called Kinetica used her mother who had the same healing powers until she died. Knowing this, Lillian decides to leave her home and live on the run. She gets news that her sister is ill and she risks coming home to save her.
Lillian’s sister seems to be too far gone for her to heal her without help. When she meets Tristan, he has loads of energy to spare. Lillian approaches him and asks for his help. He has to visit her sister in the hospital for an hour or two and Lillian would be his date for an upcoming fundraiser.
Unfortunately, Tristan is too curious for his own good. He keeps getting suspicious of Lillians answers and reactions. He starts looking into her closely. Meanwhile Lillian is freaking out, scared she will be found by Kinetica if she isn’t careful. It doesn’t help that the couple has this fiery chemistry between them.
If Lillian is exposed, it could mean disaster for her family and for Tristan if he doesn’t stop digging around Lillian’s past but how can she walk away when she has never felt this way about anyone before?
I enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful with a romantic element and a hint of supernatural abilities. Lillian was so exhausted from everything. She just wants to give up but sheer determination keeps her going. I really respected that about her. The author did a really fine job implementing different emotions. I found myself egging Lillian on, hoping she can finally stop running. I thought Tristan was a little too headstrong but it was what Lillian needed to finally start tearing down some walls.

Her gifts put her and those she loves in danger from an organization who will stop at nothing to exploit her gifts. When her sister becomes deathly ill, Lillian will do anything to save her. Including excepting the help of a handsome stranger. But when being near Tristan King, the billionaire computer genius puts her at risk of all of her secrets coming to light, will she be able to fight the pull that his presence inspires or will she guard her heart and her secret? This book has great suspense and character development. While maintaining the slow burn of a will they wont they. If you like romance that is light on the spice and heavy on the build up then this one is for you. 4.5 out of 5 Starts. I absolutely devoured this story and loved the relationship between Lillian and Tristan.

This is an interesting story full of magic and paranormal. Alongside Reign are the Morretti brothers and together they must work with and take care of Adam the human mage. Now they must fight the evil and save Italy. This is the second book in this series and it would be good to read the previous book to better understand and enjoy this book. I like the world that is being built in this series but I am having a hard time connecting with the characters, it was nice though to see the way everyone fights together against the evil. There are many different paranormal creatures in this world both good and evil. You never know what they might encounter next. The journey for those involved is not over yet and I am interested to know just what they will do next.

This is my first audio by this author. It is a little different story for me but I enjoyed listening to it from beginning to end. I enjoyed how the narrator brought life to the story by using different tones. The story has some suspense in it as well. You could tell when something was going to happen by the narrator’s tone. I enjoyed the characters and the growth of the plot. Lucifer finds himself back in the Garden of Eden only to find his Cain with some troubles. What happens you will need to listen to this audio to find out. I did enjoy listening to this book and glad that I picked it up. I highly recommend this audiobook.

This is a great read! It is entertaining, engrossing and delightful! I absolutely loved the story and the characters. The idea for the story is enticing but the execution of the story is out of the ordinary. The author did an amazing job creating these different planes of existence for the reader to travel to. This is set mainly on earth but with visits to others spaces. Their realms are creatively done. The antique store that Jade moves into was interesting to say the least. I would love to browse upstairs and downstairs for hours. Seeing who or what treasures are around.
The characters are imaginative! I loved Jade! She is smart and snarky. She doesn’t knows everything but is willing to learn. Baal is sneaky and keeps a lot of truth to himself. We meet different shifters, fairies, elves, witches and many others. They all have depth and are wonderfully written.
Overall this is a engaging, entertaining story and I throughly loved! The story is well written and easily kept my interest. The characters are delightful and inviting ( well most of them). I would love more in this realm!

What an interesting take on the story of Adam and Eve. This book grabbed my attention in the first chapter and never let me go until it was over. I usually don’t listen to this genre, but I think I have been missing out. Ms. Darling weaves a brilliant tale of mythical perfection. This is the first time I have listen to a book narrated by John Walker, but definitely won’t be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed his voice and look forward to finding more to listen to this narrator. Definitely looking forward listening to more from both the author and the narrator.

First time reader of this talented author, Carol McKibben. This is the 2nd Book The Silver Blood Knight series. I started this series on this book not realizing this was the second one lol. I ran to go get the first book after I finished reading this. It was a quick read but although it was short, man it was amazing. The world the author builds is so fantastic. It really draws you in and makes you believe you’re there. It has almost everything you’d want in a supernatural story. I can’t wait to finish the first book. If you’re looking for a good short series I highly recommend it. Ps i didnt know what a lich was until i looked it up. Then i remembered I’ve seen this creature on adventure time lmao

This is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight series, but I didn’t pay close enough attention and read this one first. I don’t feel like I was super lost, but I recommend picking up the first one as I’m sure it adds to an already marvelous plot. This was a great story full of paranormal beings and tons of suspense! This is a pretty quick read that will surely fit into an afternoon, but don’t be fooled by the length. Carol McKibben does an incredible job of giving the characters amazing depth in that short period of time, and you will be invested in every melodramatic move. I’m picking up the first in the series now to catch up!

I was drawn to Healing Kiss by the synopsis and premise of a paranormal romance. I was hooked from the very beginning and in suspense surrounding Kinetica. I thought the book was incredibly unique and captivating. I can’t think of a single time that my attention waned nor did I dislike the storyline. I really hope to read more from this author in the near future.

Reign is a lycan/vampire hybrid who has visions, sometimes they’re set in the future, sometimes they’re happening in real time. The beginning of the novel starts with Reign having one of these visions. The vision consists of the president turning himself into a Lich. He sends his people to go make more and more until he has amassed an army of the undead.
Since the group has been appointed by God himself, they take it upon themselves to be the country’s protector. There is Reign, James who is a magic wielding hybrid, Adam (a teenaged clone who is also a mage) and 10 brothers who are all also lycan/vampire hybrids. All of their names start with a Z, which did make the beginning of the book a bit confusing when the author first introduces the characters but then I was quickly caught up by the descriptive writing of the author.
The group bands together to defeat the Lich and his undead army while other obstacles are thrown their way. Demons, sirens, Greek mythology creatures, even Anubis who is a part of Egyptian mythology. The odds are stacked against them but they are willing to sacrifice anything to save the world.
This is technically book 2 in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. The author did a great job introducing the characters and their background. Even though it is a relatively short book, it is chalk full of action. I could not put it down, read it in one sitting.
The book does a really good job of keeping you on the hook with an ending that will make you want to read the next installment!

Ohhh how I wish there was more when this one ended! Lily has a gift of healing. Tristan is someone who has a lot of energy in him and can help Lily.
After being in hiding for a few years and even going to the extent of faking her death to avoid a corrupt business who would abuse her gift. Lily finds herself needing someone like Tristan in order to heal her sister who is gravely ill.
Never did Lily think her truth would be found by Tristan and that she’d fall in love and have to reveal her true self. Tristan doesn’t abandon her like she thought he would, but instead took down the corrupt business because of her! Can they come together and survive knowing each other’s truth?!? Read on to find out!
At the end I found myself wishing there was more, especially with Brian and Hannah. Oh how I need to know his story now!

This is the second book in The Silver Blood Series. I really loved this paranormal adventure story. I would recommend reading this series from the beginning as I didn’t and at first I felt a bit lost in the story. However I still really enjoyed it and I will be going back to read book 1 so I can enjoy it even more. The author does an amazing job of creating the characters and also the story itself. This story is action packed with dangers, and magic and so many magical beings. This is definately a story about good vs evil as Reign and his friends and warriors battle against all the evil beings that are threatening the world. Just when you think they have solved the problem something else immerges. The story twists and turns with danger coming from places you don’t expect. I really can’t wait to read more of this series.

The cover initially drew me to this book before even thinking about the blurb/synopsis, but when I did, I knew this was the book for me and immediately went to buy the first book without even reading its synopsis and I have no regrets.
The world that the author has been able to create in such a short book is incredible and I absolutely love how the mix of supernatural creatures, mythology and more all come together so nicely within it!
I got so lost in this book I did not put it down. The concept and plot are original – full of action, magic and good vs. Evil. The writing flows well and is easy to follow and really enjoyed the perspective in which the point of view was written. The mannerisms which many people writing this would have missed (e.g., the turning to settle down) in writing this just makes it all the more believable and immersive to me.
There are parts which make me believe another book is in the works and I really hope that is true because I need more!

Reign: The Rise of the Lich is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight Series. This paranormal vampire book starts off action-packed and continues throughout. The book is told from the point of view of a wolf which I felt was creative, brilliant, original, and immediately intrigued me into reading more.
It starts with the lycan/vampire/wolf, Reign, having a vision about the president of Italy being turned into a Lich. Although Reign is a lycan/vampire he chooses to remain in wolf form. The Moretti brothers are hybrids just like Reign with the strength of the lycans and the speed of a vampire. James is a hybrid with magical powers and Adam is a teenage human mage with powers. Reign, Adam, James, and the Moretti brothers have been anointed by God to act as his warriors. They set out to rid Rome of the Lich as they attempt to protect Earth from evil forces. Will they be able to survive?
This book was very well written with descriptive settings that made you feel as though you were there, amazing characters, and a great storyline. The author did a fantastic job with the creation of the hybrid characters, and how they band together to protect Earth from Evil. The small group of Heaven’s warriors band together to battle evil forces that are determined to destroy Earth. Resisting temptation along the way, the small group ward off mythological creatures, corrupt politicians, and hordes of undead warriors. I really enjoyed how the story was told from the point of view of a wolf. I have never read a book told from this point of view and felt it was a unique, out of the box, writing style. The story was action-packed from the first pages, and full of shapeshifters, magical powers, adventure, drama, suspense, and danger. Ultimately it tells the story of good versus evil as the warriors anointed by God in Heaven fight Hell on Earth created by a corrupt, evil politician. Looking forward to reading more by this author!
