I am officially a Courtney Davis fan!! This story was captivating, action-packed, and magical the entire way through! The heroine’s entire life is turned upside down & she is faced with an entire new set of rules. Add in a ruthless, sassy demon and it is oil versus fire. Who will win?

I absolutely adored this story. The author created a unique world of angels, demons, fae, humans, and other magical creatures. We meet Jade and Baal and the electricity between the two of them was electric. The author did a great job of being descriptive and really drawing you into the tale. It was definitely a page turner that I couldn’t put down. All of the characters were well written and the author did a great job of creating well rounded characters. I loved seeing the growth in both Jade and Baal, both together and separately. This was my second story from the author, and I look forward to reading her other works.

Jade has recently been relocated to the smallest of small towns humanly possible. The move was made through no choice of her own and was done to protect her from her ex. After Jade testified against him, she was placed in the Witness Protection Program where she was forced to not just move but to change her name and take on a whole new identity. Part of her new identity involves the “inheritance” of a small gift shop from her late “uncle” that she is expected to run as her own business. The store has a small apartment upstairs which she now gets to call home. Jade is far from happy about the situation but must make the best of it in order to stay safe from her ex and his goons that are after her.
Jade has not even had a chance to get settled when she meets Baala, who was originally there to kill Jade because it is prophesized that she would be the one to kill him. Instead, he was enticed by her beauty and decides to strike a bargain with her. Baala starts to tell her some very unsettling news about herself. Turns out that her parents had some secrets that they never revealed to their daughter prior to their passing years ago. Baala also reveals that he is a serpent shifter and the first king of Hell and that he needs her help to unlock a book that is hidden under the store. The two strike up a bargain in which she helps him unlock the book, but he must protect her from her ex. Jade is suddenly thrust into a whole new world that she did not even know existed.
This book pulled me in from the first pages when Jade’s whole life was uprooted to protect her from her ex. Jade’s ex was into some shady dealings and when she testified against him, she had no choice but to flee or be killed. Immediately, we realize how strong Jade is in order to have stood up to her ex and testify against him. She put her life in danger in order to bring him to justice. Jade expects a boring life, running a boring business, in a boring town. What she got instead was a life that she could never begin to dream could happen to someone like her. The life she had before suddenly dulls in comparison to the new life she is thrown into as suddenly, Jade is thrust into a world of demons, fae, angels, witches, shifters, magic, and the supernatural. A great read full of secrets, action, suspense, danger, drama, intrigue, and suspense.

Healing kiss by Amanda Uhl is a story full of love and the paranormal makes it that more interesting.
To save her sister, who is dying. Lillian Milano is a remarkable nurse because she uses energy from the healthy to heal the sick. However, a group that will do anything to take advantage of Lillian’s gift is putting her and the people she cares about in jeopardy. Rich computer whiz Tristan King is the only man with enough vigor to save her sister’s life when she falls seriously ill. However, being close to him poses a threat to her privacy and could dismantle the barriers she has put up to protect her emotions.
Tristan is leery of emotional entanglements and doesn’t believe in the paranormal. But since his mother is dying and his ex-fiancée won’t leave him alone, he forms a deal with Lillian to have her appear as him for a charity event in exchange for his assistance. They encounter a spiraling web of secrets that threatens their developing feelings for each other as they work together to defend their loved ones. They will make decisions that will either ruin their lives or mend their hearts.
Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique story with even more one of a kind characters. The story really transports you into their world. I couldn’t put the book down

Lillian returns to Cleveland to use her healing powers on her sister. She must do so undercover because there is an organization that will stop at nothing to get her and use her for what she can do. However, her get in-heal-get out plan hits a snag when she runs into Tristan. The two strike up a mutually beneficial agreement in order to gain the other’s help…but they never expected feelings to get involved. Each has built walls around their hearts due to others using them for their own gain…but can they open up to each other before it is too late?!?
I enjoyed reading this story. Lillian is always looking over her shoulder and lives a life of solitude to protect those around her. But, it is at the expense of her own happiness. Tristan works hard to get past those walls…but, once again, Lillian is trying to protect him by sacrificing hers own wants (even through it is super frustrating as a reader!). When tragedy strikes, will they find their way back to each other? (You have to read to find out). Overall, a good paranormal romance story that I enjoyed reading.

I really enjoyed this paranormal fantasy. It had everything in a story I love. It is action packed, with secrets being reveled, magic, shapeshifters and the never ending battle between good and evil, and a added spark of a romance that shouldn’t work but does.
Jade is on the run. Part of the witness protection programme she believes the only worry she has is avoiding the grasp of her abusive ex and trying not to die of boredom in the new dead town she finds herself in but how wrong she is. When a stranger arrives in her bedroom she worries her ex has found her, however she couldn’t be more wrong. Baal is the first king of hell. He needs the help of a fairy to help him find a special key. However there is more to Jade than he realises at first. 1st she doesnt know she a fairy and has magical powers, 2nd according to the prophecy she has the ability to save or destroy him. How is he going to cope especially when he realises that the feelings between him and Jade become more than just attraction. Jade has always been attracted to a bad boy and Baal is no exception but how will she react when she learns the truth about her existence and the part she is supposed to play in Baal’s life. Can their budding romance overcome prophecy? Can Jade trust Baal or will his forked tongue make him out to be a lier and the snake that he is?With magical beings,Jade’s murderous ex after her and a fight between 4 different Realms do Baal and Jade stand any chance at all?

This is the first book that i have read by this author and I enjoyed it more than I expected too. The summary of the story sounded interesting and nothing like what I have read about before so i was quick to get it downloaded and read it on my free evening. There was a lot that happened in this story but it didn’t feel rushed. It had elements of romance with a little bit of the supernatural thrown in and that made the story even more interesting. I enjoyed the main characters and the author’s writing style.. so I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future! Happy Reading!

The Serpent and the Firefly is my first book by this author. We meet Jade, who does not know or understand the power she possesses. Baal, the first king of Hell and a serpent shapeshifter, is there to stop Jade before the prophecy is fulfilled. The characters are interesting and help guide the story through the paranormal world. I like Jade and her interesting backstory. When Baal enters the picture, it adds another dimension to her story. I enjoyed the tension between the two characters and how after meeting Jade, it challenges Baal’s plans. If you enjoy paranormal fantasy stories with a lot of action, I recommend this book. After reading it, I will be searching out more to read by this author.

I love finding new authors and new sort of twists on old tales. This was exactly the audiobook I needed. I love how the author is able to twist the tale of creation. The author brings the characters to life and brings the twist and turns along for the ride. I really could not stop listening to this book. The narrator brought so much to the characters and story. I really love how the story unfolds. Just when you thought you knew how creation started this book really adds a spice and flavour to the story bringing the listener along for the ride. I thoroughly got lost in this audiobook and cannot wait to hear more from this author.

The Serpent and the firefly was everything that I want in a fantasy novel. Honestly it would also make a fantastic movie or show.
Jade has always been into the dangerous life. She’s attracted to bad guys and trouble always seems to follow her. She has no family of her own and when her ex puts a hit out on her head she enters witness protection and starts over in a new town. Little did she know it was the start of life changing events for her.
Baal is the ultimate bad guy. Literally a demon. He seeks out Jades help but does he have ulterior motives? The prophecy speaks of a woman that could be his undoing. But will be risk it all for love?
This story was full of suspense, thrills, romance and a bit of action. I smiled and gasped while reading. I really hope there’s a follow up story maybe featuring one of the other associates of Baal? Who knows. But please give this story a chance and start reading!

This is such a beautiful story. Lillian and Tristan are drawn together but fight so hard against the pull. They are a perfect complement to each other in so many ways. Can Tristan get her to let down her walls before it is too late? Can she out run those who would want to take her power for their own?

Healing Kiss by Amanda Uhl. This book was so good and it had just enough of a different story line to set it apart. I truly enjoyed it and hope there are more to come. Its the story of Lillian who has returned to Cleveland because her sister, Hannah has become very ill. Lillian who now goes by Zoey because she is in hiding due to the natures of her powers. The organization that is hot on her tail is the one that killed her mother and she’s not about to let them use her or her powers. Zoey tries her powers on her sister but its not enough so they end up in the hospital and she meets Tristan who she knows can put his powers with hers and maybe save Hannah. In return Zoey agrees to go as Tristan’s date to a event. While they spend more and more time together feelings evolve and they want to see each other more. When Tristan decides to look into Zoey’s past will he find things he can’t live with? Read this fast paced paranormal, romance to find out!

This is an enjoyable short story that really packs a lot into its pages. This is the second book in the series and I would highly recommend reading book 1 first so you get a full understanding of what is going. This is a great story and I enjoyed the unique take on shifters. It isn’t often an author can be original with this trope and it is even more rare for them to do it so well. I thought the characters fit really well with the book. They were interesting and all had their part to play. This really is a great book and definitely worth your time.

This book was amazing, it was so well written, the worlds and the characters were all so well written it felt like you could be right there in the story. I really liked the way the author did a mix of hybrid fantasy characters; I enjoy reading other people’s take on how vampires and werewolves are perceived. This story was very fast paced and packed with action with the battles that you will not want to put this book down till you are done. I however didn’t read the first book, but it was still easy to follow and know what was going on, but I can tell you I will be going back and reading the first one. I do believe I would understand a lot more if I started with book one, but it was still an amazing read and easy to follow and wasn’t that confusing. This book was very enjoyable, and I am happy I picked it up and can’t wait to know if there will be more from this author. Highly recommend this amazing book.

Immortality, hybrids and adventure This paranormal urban fantasy is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight series. I really enjoyed the characters, storyline and world building. Book 1 is definitely the place to start, as it provides a foundation for this book. There is so much between the pages from wizards and magic to vampires and shifter hybrids with action and mystery interwoven throughout. A great read. Recommend.

REIGN: The Rise of the Lich: The Silver Blood Knight by Carol McKibben is the second book in the series and it is a great vampire paranormal.
They are the only hope for Italy. All of Italy is in danger of being destroyed, and James, God’s chosen knight, a hybrid vampire wolf, a young wizard, and a few related Lycans are the only thing standing in the way.
Matisse, the corrupt politician, has spent years changing into a Lich. He now leads hordes of undead warriors across Italy, determined to destroy every living being in his way since he has the power to resurrect the dead.
Other mythological predators emerge with the intention of obliterating James and his comrades as Heaven’s small band battles to resist the Lich and his wicked warriors.
Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique paranormal duology. The story brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down. I had to binge-read the series.

Humans, demons, fairies, angels, vampires and much more.
I loved this book. I read through it so quickly. The characters have great dimensions and change as they interact with each other. I was bored with this story ever.
Jade (JD Williams), is a woman that has been used by a crime boss. He is now in jail because of Jade, his reach is far and wide and Jade is in hiding for testifying against him. Jade has lived in the human world all her life and now she is getting her eyes opened. She wakes one morning to find a man standing in her bedroom. Fiery Jade gives him a piece of her mind even though she is scared witless.
Baal, was the king of the underworld until he was ousted by his brother. Can he be trusted? Is he telling the truth? The story will keep you guessing.
I recommend you go on this amazing ride with this story. Leave the real world behind for a while and curl up with this book.

I really enjoyed this paranormal romance. The story is unique and I love the characters. Lillian is a really strong and determined character. Because of her abilities she is being hunted so she was forced into hiding but when her sister becomes ill she returns to save her, however she doesn’t have as much energy as she needs. She needs someone different, someone full of vitality energy to help fight and save her sister. And she finds that in a Billionaire Tristain. Can she get him to help her sister? What will happen when she is seen with a popular Billionaire? Will her cover be blown after all these years? Tristan doesn’t believe in anything paranormal. She when Lillian tries to explain her abilities he doesn’t believe her. However he has his own problems, with his mother dying could Lillian be the answer to saving his mother? This is a very emotional story about 2 people trying to save the ones they love no matter what the cost. Even if that means Lillian’s cover is blown and the people she is running from finds her again. I was really invested in these characters and their story. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down.

Undying Light by Aurora Wildey is the first book in the Stella Maris series. It follows Kaela (a glowing healer), the Immortal Seth, and werewolf Terran. After saving Kaela from robbers, Terran works to keep her safe. Seth knows something about Kaelas’ supernatural abilities amd the dangers ahead. These two men are very different but with the same goal which sets up a fascinating counterpoint. This book has great world-building and intriguing characters.

Undying Light is the first book in the new paranormal fantasy series entitled The Stella Maris Series by Aurora Wildey. Within its pages you find magic, adventure, danger, intrigue, and a whole lot of suspense as characters try to keep secrets hidden.
There are three primary characters, Kaela, Terran, and Seth, who have a bit of a love triangle as the two men both try to protect Kaela. You get to see more of all of their thoughts and actions as the book is written with different povs. Each chapter is marked with whose POV we are in at that moment. Books written in this format can be a little confusing at times, but the author handles it well.
Kaela would probably be dead had Terran not swooped in and saved her, but he was seriously injured in the process, causing Kaela to reveal her guarded secret that she has healing powers. Terran, a werewolf, also hides his true nature, because they would be killed if anyone knew about them. While she uses her powers, Seth senses her as she is one of his kind and he hunts her down. When her life is threatened a 2nd time, both Seth and Terran want to protect her and try to block one another, as neither trusts the other. This leaves Kaela more confused than ever, because who is she supposed to trust and why does anyone want her dead? Did they find out about her abilities? Is that really reason enough to try and kill her? Will the two alpha males team up to protect her instead of competing for her? Will Kaela ever truly be safe again? Find out this and more within the pages of this fast read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Undying Light, which is the first book in The Stella Maris Series. I hadn’t read anything by this author yet, but I can tell they are definitely making it on my “Authors to Watch” list! Aurora Wildey had me hooked from the beginning and kept me engrossed until the very end. I really love books that have multiple POVs so this was right up my alley. You immediately feel the drama from a horrible attack that nearly killed Kaela, but a magnificent stranger named Terran saved her. Kaela felt somewhat indebted to Terran for this powerfully kind act which leads her to use her powers to heal him. The two do their best to hide and keep each other safe, but a new individual named Seth enters the picture. He feels Kaela’s presence and gives her the option to work near him while also teaching her who she really is. Seth and Terran don’t really see eye to eye, but Kaela must make an impossible decision. Will she stay with Terran since he has proven he will protect her, or will she feel pulled towards Seth? I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us. I highly recommend picking this up especially if you enjoy the fantasy and paranormal genre!

Reign: The Rise of the Lich was well written. I do suggest reading the first book first or you will be confused. The world building and characters was well thought out! If you enjoy a good fantasy book, then this book is for you. I recently found a love for shifter books, but this one was different from what I’m used to. It was a great shifting book.

Kaela Morrow is a young woman with a bit of an overprotective father, but she is determined to live her life on her own terms by living alone, spending time with her best friend and studying, all while working part time, but all that changes one night when Kaela is attacked, but thankfully for her, there is someone nearby who comes to her rescue. Terran Montgomery is just finishing work when he hears a scream, he has no idea what he is about to run into, but he cannot just stand by and let something bad happen to someone, so he takes matters into his own hands and rescues Kaela, however, he does not escaped unharmed and Kaela is worried that her saviour might be in danger of losing his life, so despite knowing that she shouldn’t, she uses her inner light to heal him.
The next morning, Terran and Kaela realise that they both have something to hide and that the other is now in full knowledge of both of their situations, so albeit scared and uncomfortable they decide to keep the secrets they have discovered close to their chests and hope that their paths do not cross again, but if she needs him, he will do everything he can to keep her safe. While Kaela tries to come to terms with everything that happens, she has to again call on Terran for help, however, while this is going on, they cross paths with Seth Lazarus, a man who has seen a lot and been alive for a long time, he is an immortal and one of the few of his kind left, however, as soon as he senses Kaela, he realises that she is another of his kind, but that she is a new born and that is a rare thing which needs to be celebrated. He introduces himself to her and makes her acquaintance, but it soon becomes clear that she has no knowledge of her special status, so he decides to keep an eye on her, especially when he hears what has happened to her recently, but he is in no position as of yet to do this.

Undying Light is Book One in The Stella Maris Series. The book is told from the point of view of three different characters. Each character has a unique power and secret that they are trying to hide which makes them unlikely to trust many people. As the book progresses it starts to intertwine the lives of the three and give a bigger storyline.
Character number one is Kaela, an eighteen-year-old girl that is different from other girls her age because she has healing powers. She tries her best to disguise it which can be difficult because she glows when she uses her powers. Kaela is intelligent and is just finishing college to be a nurse and wants to use her healing powers to help others.
Character number two is Seth, who is an undying, which is like a vampire. There are very few things that can kill an undying. Most of the undying were eradicated by a tyrant king so there are very few in existence. Seth is on a quest to find his possessions that have once again been stolen. He enlists some shady characters to do his dirty work for him.
Character number three is Terran, a werewolf. He is the only son of a family of old school money in which the males are all born with this special “affliction”. He works as a public servant which angers his mother who feels that he should be a wealthy lawyer and be married to the right woman. Terran leads a secret life that nobody knows about in which he brings justice to those who escape it. Kaela crosses paths with both Seth and Terran at different times and under different circumstances. She must decide if she trusts either of these men. When Kaela is attacked by a group of men at the clinic, she works at it is Terran who comes to her rescue. He is badly injured in the process, so Kaela uses her healing powers to save him. In the process, both learn of the other’s well-guarded secrets and trust the other to not tell anyone. Things are going well until Seth comes along. He recognizes her as one of his own and wants to protect her and teach her. Seth offers to protect Kaela but then Terran gets in his way. Can Kaela really trust either of these men?
A great urban fantasy book with paranormal elements, shapeshifters, magic, intrigue, suspense, secrets, tension, secret vigilante activities, and danger lurking around every corner. The characters were well written, and their back story explained in a manner that made their individual story easily understandable. Kaela, Seth, and Terran were all supernatural beings with their own unique abilities that they kept a secret. They trusted nobody and each kept to themselves. It was easy to understand why they felt as though they may not have been able to trust one another. Looking forward to book number two.

This story was quite interesting. First, the narrator had a fantastic voice. I really enjoyed listening to this with him chatting. I do want to say that having to hear about the dirty body parts dragging in the dirt wasn’t really a part of the story that helped it. I found the story to be intriguing from the view of Lucifer, Adam and Eve. The other characters were al right. It had it’s good points and weaker points. I think fans of romance with a bit of erotic in it may enjoy this story.
4/5 stars

Life is hard but it’s harder for Lillian. She can heal people but she can’t let anyone know but there is always a catch, her sister is dying. She needs help but the one guy who can help her puts her at risk. This story is an original tale about love overcoming everything. A great story to read with wonderful characters. Something new at every page turn.

Intriguing characters, a well written story, very diverse and well developed. This is the 1st book I have had the pleasure of reading by this author, definitely won’t be the last.I did find myself staying up later than normal to read. I suggested it to friends. I strongly recommend this book.

I have said before that I am not usually a fan of shorter stories BUT this one is so damn packed full I just have to shut my mouth. Story length in no way matters with this fantastic book. I unfortunately started this series on book 2 which I will be rectifying as soon as possible as well as exploring this amazing authors other books. How much she managed to pack into this book is truly amazing. It’s filled with such unique, wonderful characters and is such a creative storyline that you wont be able to put it down. You will want to see how this battle unfolds! I am hesitant to comment on the actual storyline itself because I just know I’ll give away something that I shouldn’t. Just do yourself a favour and get reading!!

This book is an original and interesting story that I enjoyed much more than I expected when I started reading. Although it is predominantly a romance story there is a supernatural element to the story that really adds such a depth to the book. I really connected with the characters and enjoyed the intricacies of them. The author managed to pack a lot into this book without it feeling like it was rushed or too much. All the elements worked well together and made for a fantastic book to read. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I cannot wait to read more.

I’m going to say my rating is more of a 3.5 vs 4. Undying Light is different. A book I wasn’t a fan of when I started to read it, however it got better the longer I stuck with it. In the past I’ve abandoned books long before I’ve given them a chance. This time I went with my gut and gave it a chance. To say I was confused at first, extremely! It took till about 20% of the way in that things started to come together and make sense. So what the author did was write this book in the perspective of 3 different characters. Every 3rd chapter or so you made it back to a particular character’s point of view. Which is why it was confusing. Why tell a story in this way? What do these 3 characters have to do with one another? Well that first question I posed only the author can answer, but you can speculate. I will say this, in the end it worked but you need to make sure if you felt as I did you push through. The 2nd question gets answered around the 20% point when these characters start crossing paths and start becoming fixtures in each other’s lives. Kaela a young girl beyond extremely smart and beyond her years. She’s a homebody and doesn’t really have any friends besides Gavin. Being outcasts brought them together. She’s different though and she knows it. She knows she has powers but doesn’t have the answers as to why. Well our next character does. Seth has been around a long time. He has been living a life of immortality and endless loneliness. Because though he’s had and felt love it never lasts, due to his condition. When Seth crosses paths with Kaela he knows immediately she’s someone of his kind. One he didn’t know existed. One he pledges to protect from that moment on. Also has hopes that she will grow to want him as well. Then there’s Terran. Terran has his own secret. prosecutor by day, vigilante supernatural by night. Yet not that anyone knows it’s him or what he is. Until he saves Kaela one night. She sees him in his true form and he sees the little bit of magic she can currently do. He’s also the prosecutor on the case of the man who survived that attacked her. All 3 characters are supernatural beings. That you will just have to read to find out about. Are Terran and Seth able to keep Kaela safe? Is there an even bigger danger lurking in the wings? Like I said early on, the author’s use of 3 different perspectives is confusing at first. More because of the questions it creates and less due to the context. I say that because those questions start to resolve themselves once these 3 are in each other’s lives. Was it worth pushing through for? Yes, I think so. I look forward to other books by this author in the future. As well as the potential of other books in what looks like to be the beginning of a series.
