I really liked the forensic anthropology angle of this. Trudy and Bend were great characters (Ben having a cat was an added bonus for me.) I liked the plot and would like to know some of the supporting characters a little more. I liked the feel of this book best of the ones that I read. I would definitely read more by this author.

I have enjoyed other books by this author, but this one certainly has taken the cake in my opinion! I loved the story line, the characters, and the romantic suspense that came with it!

The concept was thrilling as well as gripping. The characters were indulging as well as showing great character development, as well as how deeply with details the author had written them. Trudy and Ben were great lead characters, and enjoyed the other characters as well. The story was really intriguing. I am a girl who loves talking bones, so of course there was strong appeal for me haha. The story flowed nicely an was easy to follow. Enjoyed the suspense, and twists that the author gave us. Great read. Loved it!

This book is a must read for me, and I wish I could read it again for the first time! I was hooked and at the edge of my seat till the end! Highly recommend this author, book as well as series! For sure a must read!

Yesterday’s Over: Philly Heat Series #3 by Becky Flade

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Yesterday’s Over is the third book in the Philly Heat Series. The book had me hanging by a thread. The book contains two of my favorite things. Crime and medical people.

Trudy is the corner for the police department. When a building blew up they found bones. She has to call in for help and there she finds Ben. She finds herself in some trouble as they figure out what happened to the people. The quote I chose for Trudy is: “Thank you. Bistro Romano was a good choice. They’ve an excellent wine cellar. That painting? It’s local artist S.S. Welling; an amazing talent. She paints watercolor still lifes so vibrantly they look like photos. I have a smaller, less expensive print in my loft. It was the first thing I ever bought myself that wasn’t second hand and cost slightly less than my car.”

Ben is a professor and loves what he does. When he gets the call about the police finding bones he jumps on it. He finds that Trudy, the medical examiner, is hard to keep off his mind. He wants to see if they have more in common. The quote I chose for Ben is: “I’ve watched you perform autopsies, teach interns, and work with me while juggling administrative issues with aplomb and grace. I’d assumed you were already the Chief Medical Examiner.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.

Fall to Pieces (Philly Heat Series #2) by Becky Glade

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Fall to Pieces is the second book in the Philly Heat Series. We get to see the characters from book one. This book was very entertaining.

Lexi has lost her husband and now people think she’s getting special treatment. Some want her out of the department. She fights to stay and finds herself falling for her new partner. Can she take the hits as they come? The quote I chose for Lexi is:“I’d rather feel boxed in than watched.”

Xavier is new to the team and is under strict instructions to find anything on Lexi. When he finds that she’s passionate about her job things change. He wants her to be the best. The quote I chose for Xavier is: “Xavier Knight. I’d like to say it’s a pleasure, but under these circumstances, that feels inappropriate.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.

Yesterday's Over (Philly Heat series, #3)Yesterday’s Over by Becky Flade

I love this series. Trudy and Ben came together when a set of skeletal remains were found after a large explosion. This story has a way of pulling you in and you are totally engaged in the story. There is romance, drama, suspense and mystery. The story runs flawlessly through the book. There are some twists. These bring things back together smooth. The characters were well-developed and easy to relate to. I’ts been a real treat to read this series. This author writes in a way that makes you feel like you are there in the middle of the story with them.

When I was little, I thought everyone had stories in their head. When I found out only special people had stories to tell, I wanted to be one of the magical ones who shared their stories with the world. I wrote my first book in kindergarten with the help of my teacher, Mrs. Daniels. My mom – my biggest fan and most ardent supporter – has that my little crayon-drawn book tucked into the pages of her family bible. It took almost thirty years to get from there to published but here I am, making my own dreams come true, one happily ever after at a time.

A Love Restrained (Philly Heat Series #1) by Becky Flade

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. This book is amazing and I will be looking forward to the next book. A Love Restrained is the first book in the Philly Heat Series.

Kylee is a cop and when she sees a drug deal go down she chases the dealer. Then she realizes that she knows him. The one who broke her heart in high school. Now she’s got to figure out if she can handle what he does. The quote I chose for Kylee is: “No. I don’t. I felt small when you shut me out of your life today. It hurt me to think you were ashamed of me, of us. What we have, and I don’t know what it is or where it’s going, but it felt less. I felt less. I’ve been doing the same thing to you. I know that now. I’m sorry for it.”

Jayson comes from a bad childhood. When he runs into Kylee Parker. Officer Parker. He wants her, but doesn’t know if he should get involved with her. She’s a cop. He’s not a good guy. The quote I chose for Jayson is: “No! I’m ashamed of them. I spent yesterday with your family, and they’re perfect. So what do I do for a f***ing encore? I bring you here to see mine? To this— freak show? I don’t want their ugliness anywhere near you. Near us. I don’t want you to see what I come from.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.
