The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Rayne East

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance, #3)The Fighter by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brilliant conclusion to the trilogy
This is the third book in the Underground Bad Boys Romance and it’s Jonathan Gage’s turn to face his battles and discover not all of them can be solved with his fists. I really enjoy this author’s writing style and the way this series has unfolded, especially catching up with characters from the previous two books. Gage and Juliet sizzled and having Ten thrown into the mix – holy hotness! There’s drama, action, and lots of soul searching. Loved it.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Captivating and delightful
A very entertaining and tantalising read. This is a contemporary romance with a real story line and well written characters. Jeremy has his charm and Regan has a backbone. These two together are so easy to fall in love with. It is a fast paced book and I was very quickly swept away within the pages. A worthy read.

Shifters, mates and monarchy
This is the first book in the series and it was brilliantly written. A perfect balance of paranormal, romance and action had me turning the pages late into the night that I ended up reading this in one sitting! Dual POV, which I love, had me falling hard for Jason. Lily is an emotional roller coaster but I liked her character too. Can’t wait to see where this series goes – there is still so much more to uncover. Highly recommend.

Angels, demons and temptations
Filled with a unique storyline this book is a page turner. Beelzebub is a flirty, mischievous and sexy demon who is confident with what he wants and what he does. Until he meets Clara, a baker and empath. I enjoyed their banter and connection. Once the battle between angels and demons starts the story takes a life of its own. A sinfully delicious read.

Paranormal action romance adventure
This book had it all. Loved the characters, the setting and the storyline. I was vested immediately in the characters, especially Sam. The writing is really good and this book is a very strong start to the series. Told in dual POV, Sam and Layla each hold their own. Their passion and connection is off the charts. There is a cliffhanger which makes me eager for book 2.

Wraps up the series brilliantly
Loved being back in Bunya Junction and back amongst friends. I did not want this book to end as it is last book in the series. I fell in love with the Carruthers clan and the town of Bunya Junction from book 1 and have loved watching them all get their HEA. This is Yolanda and Michael’s story. It’s all about the volatility of keeping secrets and working through the hard times that can happen even in the strongest relationships. This can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading the series from start to finish. Going to miss Bunya Junction.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Addictive series
Every single book in this series is just pure brilliance. I just love the whole mafia family. This book brings in Luc and Summer. Each has their baggage and must face the trials of their past. The action, drama and romance is off the charts. With old and new characters this book doesn’t miss a beat. I devoured every page and at the end I just wanted more. I recommend starting from book one as you will get a deeper understanding of the five families but each book can be read as a stand alone.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brilliant
I really enjoyed this book. A great start to a series that I will definitely be following. Being the first book there was a lot of backstory and establishing setting but it was totally worth it. Deacon and Olivia are a great couple and I loved the dual POV. Second chances, drama, passion and fast bikes makes this one not to be missed. The group is not small, so this has the potential to be a larger series. I can’t wait to get to know more about the others. Warning – There are some pretty raw and real moments that could trigger.

This story draws you in, spins you around and leaves you hanging. Brilliant writing and world building. Zombie virus with a twist and an unlikely MC in Baron. He is a very complex character with a mysterious background and who is thrust into a viscous cycle of survival with immortals. I really enjoyed this book. Interested in seeing where this series goes.

Twists and turns that had me guessing
This was an unpredictable psychological thriller. The author weaved a story that was deep and cleverly layered. I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride as the story climaxed and sped down the other side several times. The characters were well developed and as the story unfolded the events were clearly detailed. Based in the early days of the pandemic the author diligently communicates the real life struggles associated with the virus alongside the main storyline. A very worthy read.

Grief and healing
This is a slow burn clean romance that deals with tragedy and the fall out that follows. The author handles it realistically and with sensitivity. This book has all the feels. Colt and Evelyn are a mature couple and are very confident within themselves. I enjoyed this book, reading way past my bedtime. It draws you in and doesn’t let go. A worthy read.

Love's Full CircleLove’s Full Circle by Cherry Christensen
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sweet, second chance romance
This book is a clean Christian romance. I found the story stalled a bit in places where Kayden and Liam kept being hung up on events from the past. The back and forth was a bit overdone and some of the added angst seemed forced. That being said, I found the writing easy to read and the overall message sweet. This is a good choice for an afternoon escape read.

The Thunderbird Academy Trilogy by Valia Lind – Review by Rayne East

The Thunderbird Academy TrilogyThe Thunderbird Academy Trilogy by Valia Lind
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brilliant trilogy
The Thunderbird Academy is a trilogy not to be missed. It has everything -action, paranormal, magic, shifters and romance all in an academy setting. Maddie is an awesome and strong MC and the teenage angst with Aiden was not overdone. The storyline moves at a great pace and doesn’t get caught up on trivial issues. The flow between the 3 books is flawless and even though I had not read the Hawthorne Chronicles (which this series follows on from) I felt there were enough references that I didn’t feel lost. It would give a better understanding of Maddie’s background though and the events that happened there. The story develops wonderfully across each book of the trilogy and the author’s execution of the characters and world building is to be commended. I was excited when I came across this box set and devoured it immediately. So, if you love paranormal action with romance in an academy setting and having the whole series at your fingertips this one is for you.

Sugar, spice and everything nice
Book 3 of the series and we have Mason and Rhyann’s story. I loved the previous Titan’s books and have been patiently waiting for this instalment. I devoured it. There was the right balance of emotional drama, sexy times and storyline to keep my glued right until the end. The characters are well developed and there was a natural flow – the relationships did not feel forced. Each of the books in the series can be read as a stand-alone even though there are crossovers from each book. But, there is information in each book that gives more depth to each book. Now to wait for the next book.

Book 3 sees Emma evolve so much more. There are new mysteries to solve as we catch up with many characters from previous books and meet new some ones. I absolutely adore Emma and her crew, especially Jeremy. The story is delivered flawlessly and historic era bleeds through the writing. I am thoroughly enjoying this series and totally recommend.

This was a brilliant whodunnit filled with great characters, mystery and polished writing. I really enjoyed the voice of the main character, and the setting in the Texan depression era was very well portrayed. This is the first book I have read from this author and even though this book is part of a collection, I did not feel lost at all. Class ClownClass Clown by Allan Evans
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Crazy Clowns and ghosts
A fast paced paranormal adventure involving crazy clowns, ghosts and well developed characters. There was action that kept me turning the pages. The build up was lengthy which meant that the ending was a bit rushed but good nonetheless. This would make a wicked movie by the way. If you have a fear of clowns it could get a bit scary but that’s the thrill of the ride.

This little gem did not disappoint. Coffee, cookies and an afternoon quickie (read). The town of Cupid Cove is charming and Graham and Lara were a cute couple. Even though this is a short read the author did not skimp on details. I loved the recipes and the short snippets from the radio hosts, had me in stitches. Highly recommend as a romantic afternoon escape.

Steamy medical with a twist
Another great instalment from this author. I enjoyed Stella’s character, her confidence was a refreshing change. With hot guys, a little drama and a whole lot of steam this book had me fanning. Fair warning that the cliffhangers at the end are the real deal and brutal. I even flicked back a couple of pages to make sure I hadn’t missed something. If you are into books with a self-assured female lead, sexy doctors and romance this is a book not to be missed.

A romance full of twists and surprises
I went in blind and was totally thrown for a loop. This is a book that I don’t want to give too much away. The writing is good, characterisation great and the plot amazing. My only gripe would be the use of the word ‘soulful’ felt a little overdone but that is such a minor observation. This book takes you on a journey full of secrets, mystery, romance and challenges.

(Un)Loved (Mixed Emotions, #1)(Un)Loved by Katy Hunter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Romantic soul searching
This was a book of mixed emotions to me. It was very slow in the uptake and then felt a bit lost in the middle with a rush at the end. Sophie’s character was a bit the same – full of mixed emotions but lacked personality. As for Gil – I struggled to connect with him. There was still substance and a good plot to the story. I really enjoyed Gil’s family and the writing was polished and easy to read. I will definitely check more from this author as I’m curious enough to see more.

This took a bit for me to get into though it us written well and the story unfolds nicely. Lots of steam with the romance. There are many issues interwoven throughout the story such as interracial relationships, slavery and even sexual orientation. Once I found my groove I flew through the book. Definitely worth a read.

When it’s right – it’s right
This is the fifth book in the series and it’s Amara and Petro’s story. Fake fiancée, older woman and office romance all rolled into one. This is easy to read and is well written with good characterisation and a depth to the story line. I really enjoyed the slow build and the development of the relationship. A very good addition to the Love Grows series.

What an introduction to the town of Bunya Junction. I really loved meeting the locals and following Sindy and Ryan’s journey. The writing is easy to read and the story draws you in. Absolutely brilliant series starter.

I just love Bunya Junction and the Curruthers family. The third book in the series is Scott’s book, Sindy’s twin brother and a doctor with a lot going on. He meets Franceen and sparks start to fly. This is another brilliant addition and I just love the Aussie flavour. There were laugh-out-loud moments, especially with the twin bond between Sindy and Scott. So happy to see there is a fourth book with Yolanda’s story.
