Chain Reaction (Nite Fire #2)Chain Reaction by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Action, mystery and more
This is the second book in the Nite Fire series and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed book 1 and was ready to delve back into the world of dragons and monsters. I recommend reading book 1 first as it will help to orient the story. The author is brilliant with the world building and bringing a story with so much action, emotion and mystery but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The story has a natural flow that kept me turning the pages. So good to see Dahlia with her crew. Intrigued to see what adventure awaits in book 3.

Brilliant conclusion
I am conflicted because I am content with the ending but I don’t want the series to end. I absolutely love Tasha and Levi, they balance each other out. The barriers they face just keep coming but they push through them together. The author has really bought their A-game with this series – with drama, romance, action and paranormal – I was in my element. This is a series not to be missed – highly recommend.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Thrilling dragon series starter
A gripping start to an action packed supernatural dragon series. This book had it all: mystery, suspense, drama, romance, paranormal and of course, dragons. It is an intense storyline, with strong characterisation and excellent world building that draws you in from the start. Dahlia is a strong female lead, that has a natural appeal and keeps the story moving. The author does a brilliant job at ensuring every character is memorable in their own right and the use of imagery is spot on. Looking forward to book 2.

Emotional whiplash
This book had me raging one minute and then cheering the next. I was beyond frustrated as the events unfolded that I nearly threw my kindle across the room. It takes a good book to really affect my emotions on such a physical level – and this book did just that. I felt every bit of anxiety, pain and betrayal. The writing will draw you in but the characters and their story will keep you glued until the end.

A beautiful holiday romance drenched in history and emotions. The writing drew me in and the storyline kept me there. I felt transported through time and I could visualise the twin of Holiday and Cora Lee and Jace. The story is heartwarming and the world building fantastic. The little snippet of book 2 makes me want to continue this series immediately.

A wonderful well written fantasy romance that has beautiful imagery. A unique mix of mythology, paranormal and culture, held my interest til the end. The characterisation was interesting as I felt more connected with Ember as the story progressed. With such a strong first book in the series I am curious as to where the story will go.

This book had many elements that were presented in a way that kept my interest. The book is well written and keeps the multiple story lines in order. The elements of truth woven throughout the mystery adventure were well done and it stands out that the author has researched. A mix of history, drama, suspense, emotional turmoil and mystery makes this a very worthy read.

Sensitive and emotional
This was a very well written contemporary romance that embraces a very sensitive issue in a heartfelt way. The author shows the good, the bad and the ugly side in a very honest way. Even though this is the third book in the series, this is the first book I have read from this author. I didn’t feel lost at all but I am now very curious about the other members of the band. The characters are very easy to relate to. If you love rockstar romances, characters that are real, romance with a little bit of drama and a whole lot of feels, this is the book for you.

This was a beautifully written romance based in Cold Creek. Amber struggles with Christmas and Gio loves the season. Highly recommend.

Fantastic!
The last instalment in a brilliant series brings Lazarus and Sasha’s story. This was dark and broody meets impulsive and snarky. I really enjoyed their interactions. A roller coaster ride of events filled with high stakes emotions brings this intriguing and suspenseful series to a bittersweet end. The author has done an exceptional job bringing everything together and keeping true to the characterisation throughout the whole series. Highly recommended.

Magical possibilities
This is my first book by this author. The storyline and writing style were good. I connected quickly with the characters and the different aspects of magic. The idea behind the Liminal Realm was intriguing. The story ebbed in parts and flowed quickly in others but overall was an enjoyable read.

Unequivocally brilliant
Alpha mafia men and strong resilient women make this a winning series. This book is filled with romance, action, drama and suspense with strong family ties bringing it all together. Each book gets better and better. We finally get behind the scenes with Stefano and Emiliana in this book and I was not prepared for how ruthless Stefano could be. Took my breath away. This can be read on its own but reading the first two books will help you to really understand and appreciate the story so much more. Highly recommended series.

Intriguing mystery
This is a first from this author for me and it did not disappoint. I was hooked in from the first page and kept riveted as the story unfolded. This is a suspenseful thriller mystery with romantic tension thrown in. Lexi and Xavier are well developed characters that I just could not help loving. They are raw and real and I just felt such a connection to them. The mystery was brilliantly executed too with just the right balance of suspense and action. Highly recommend.

Christmas dream
A beautifully illustrated Christmas story about answering the question every parent faces. This story navigates the question in a slightly different way and focuses more on the belief of Christmas and keeping that belief alive rather than the magic of Christmas. The message is delivered well and the story has a heartwarming ending.

Hilarious fantasy adventure
I absolutely enjoyed this book. Such a fun read. Harlow was relatable and quirky with a strong sense of self. The storyline was original and well written. With a paranormal sword with a mind of it’s own, plenty of action and hints at romance there is a lot within the pages but the author delivers it with ease. A very strong series starter and I will definitely check out book 2.

Practical, personal, and plentiful
This was a journey through self-reflection and discovery. Absolutely resonated with me about how quickly we can forget about basic self-care and get caught up in the guise of busyness. This cuts to the basic roots of nature and magic and reminds us all that we have our own magic that needs to be acknowledged and nourished. So much is held within the pages of this book and it is so eloquently delivered. A very worthy read.

A wonderful romantic story
A little steamy and a lot of soul-searching. Paisley and Caspian’s story was very easy to dive into and I was very vested in their relationship. Caspian was a very alpha, dominant male who has had opportunities to create a better life for himself while Paisley has had to struggle all her life. I loved the backstory and also the multiple POVs as the added depth made me feel so much more connected. A solid story for romance lovers.

Enthralling series
I just can’t get enough of this series. Absolutely attached to the characters and the whole world of realms. More often than not by book 4 I start to lose focus in a book series or I find the storyline starts to become stilted but that is definitely not the case here. Each book is refreshing and has its own flavour. Book 4 finds Vanessa on another mission for an untrusting goddess and navigating her new found connections with the gods. Romance, humour, action and mythology had me glued to the pages. I just didn’t want it to end and now I am eagerly awaiting more. So if you love paranormal stories, characters that you will fall in love with and on-point world building then this author and series is for you.

Short and unique paranormal romance
This was a well written M/M paranormal romance. There is not much fluff as the author doesn’t drag the story out with unnecessary descriptions. It is a very unique storytelling style which I actually enjoyed. The characters were easily visualised and the storyline contained strong messages about discrimination and acceptance. I will definitely have to check out more of her work.

This story was an unexpected surprise. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series but it was easy to connect the dots with the other characters. I really enjoyed Brant and Aubrey’s characters and the romance was a slow burn sizzle. There was more mystery than drama which was a nice change. The writing and pacing was very good and I highly recommend for suspense romance lovers.

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairings Series Book 1)Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship by Parker Fairchild
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An afternoon quick read
This is a cute cruise ship romance. With Christmas cheer, Santa and Mrs Claus and hot Navy SEALs there was a lot of merriment (and drinking) going on. A couple of times I found the dialogue a little choppy and stilted especially between Olivia and Jace but this didn’t distract me from the story line. A light hearted romance with an abundance of Christmas cookies made this the perfect choice for an afternoon delight.

The author does an awesome job at developing the characters, with each one being so well rounded and unique. Cannot wait to dive into part 2.
