This book was the perfect way for me to end a busy holiday weekend. I have been missing my bestie more than usual. As soon as I read this book, I had to tell her to read it as well. We decided that if one of us was ever to be stood up at the alter by our next husbands (cough Chris Evans and Keanu Reeves cough) we would not hesitate to revenge honeymoon together! I am so glad Emily, the great wingwoman that she is, has the opportunity to find some fun in the sun of her own. I hope you enjoy Revenge Honeymoon as much as I did!

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Revenge Honeymoon was a funny little read. Going on a friend’s honeymoon because an ex leaves her would be fun. I got to live that experience by reading this.

Emily is on a cruise with her best friend. Not just any cruise. A Honeymoon Cruise. Newly wed couples. Now Emily is stuck pretending to be Ruby’s wife. Things start to take an interesting turn when she meets Max. The quote I chose for Emily is: “You were? But you said you were a photographer and that Penelope—That she was a model for you.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Comedy lovers.

This rom-com is a new to me author and I enjoyed this story alot. The main characters in this one were great! Emily and Ruby are best friends. Unfortunately Ruby gets left at the alter and Emily offers to go on her honeymoon for her. The friendship between these two is awesome! On the cruise Emily meets Max. It was very whirlwind with them and the relationship between them moved very quickly. I like their story, it was fun and and I am looking forward to more by this author in the future!
Happy Reading!

Revenge Honeymoon

I was intrigued by this book from the moment I read the title and knew I had to read it when I read the synopsis and wasn’t disappointed.

The beginning doesn’t start off as happy, but that doesn’t last long. Emily’s an amazing best friend and will do anything for Ruby during this unexpected and unfortunate event. She had no idea what they were in for.

Emily broke my heart a few times with her insecurities over her body because I could relate to the feelings she felt when wearing certain clothes. I could also see a bit of my daughter Emily in her personality.

I got looks from my family while reading this book due to my laughing at times that didn’t match the room. Loved Ruby’s story about market in Cozumel, that may have been my favorite part of the book.

This is a new to me author and was happy I took a chance to read it. Hope to read more by her in the future.

Ooooooh revenge honeymoon was great! 2 best friends decide to go on the one friends honeymoons still, even though her soon to be husband left her at the altar. Emily wanted ruby to still have the time of her life even though her heart is broken. But what Emily doesn’t realize is that she will find true love on the cruise ship during this “fake” honeymoon. The 2 girls pretend to be married and it’s such a funny book! I love a good rom com! There’s drama, heartbreak! But there’s also a lot of love! Author writes the characters great and you fall in love with them instantly! I love reading a story about 2 best friends and seeing how good they are to one another. You have to have at least ONE great friend in your life! Amazing book!!

This was a really good read! I had a little trouble at the beginning telling the characters apart with the third person POV, but it didn’t take long to straighten out for me. I enjoyed the story and the plot, I laughed along with the characters and was immersed in the story. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I’m excited to read more in the future!

What a wonderful rom-com this is from the beginning to the end. It started out with a not so happy ending but turned out to be a perfect finale. This romantic comedy had everything I love and more. I laughed until I cried while reading this book over the holiday weekend. The main character is fantastic, but her best friend takes the cake and “that friend” that every girl needs in her life. The story reminded me of a friend of mine who ended up calling off the engagement two weeks before the ceremony and she and her sister took the honeymoon which was also a cruise. They did not have the types of adventures that Ruby and Emily did but did have a fun time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. This is a perfect gift for any of your friends that love romantic comedies. They will thank you for it afterwards.

This is a great, heart-warming, funny romantic comedy that I loved reading. I had never read any of this author’s work before so was unsure of what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised when I got a well written book with great characters.
You wouldn’t think that a book about a jilted bride taking her maid of honour on the honeymoon would be a funny topic but it actually lends itself to so much humour. In particular, the fact that the cruise is for newly weds so Ruby and Emily pretend to be a newly married couple which leads to much hilarity.
I adored Emily as a character as she’s so ditzy but very caring and loyal to a fault. I liked Ruby but wouldn’t say that I loved her. Max, however, is such a sweetheart. As hot and handsome as he was, he wasn’t cocky or arrogant as many male leading characters are. He was insecure and vulnerable which made him all the more appealing. I really wanted to give that man a huge hug.
The story flowed really well and kept me engaged and entertained throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely read more by this author.

Ruby is stood up at the altar. What’s a girl to do then? Have a BFF like Emily to say let’s take your honeymoon and have fun. What Emily wasn’t expecting was to meet someone like Max. This was a nice romcom that I needed. I laughed out loud so many times my family stopped asking what I was reading. Everyone needs a friend like Emily.

Revenge Honeymoon is a Rom-Com by K. J. Gillenwater. Emily offers to go on her best friend Ruby’s Caribbean honeymoon after Ruby is left at the altar by her fiance. After the two pose as a married couple on the cruise, Emily meets Max and there starts the dilemma. Will Emily risk possibly being kicked off the cruise to pursue Max? I liked the relationship between Emily and Ruby. It was nice to read how Emily was there for her best friend during her heartbreak. Emily and Max’s interactions were cute, but I felt they moved a bit too fast. If you enjoy stories of female friendship, this is an excellent story for you. It was fun and heartwarming.

After Emily’s best friend is stood up at her wedding, they embark on the honeymoon cruise together. Emily immediately sees a hot guy but believes him to be married as the cruise is just for people on their honeymoon. Max, as it turns out, is working as a photographer for the ship. With a little bit of insecurity, Emily shies away from him but she is all Max can think about.
Opinion
This is a great, laugh out loud book. With all of the adventure of a cruise, the setting is perfect for a romantic comedy. What I loved most about this book is that at the end of each chapter is a mini cliff hanger. I felt compelled to read this book in as few sittings as possible. Be prepared to not be able to put this book down.
The way the book ended is a perfect set up for another book in a series. I hope that to be true.

I thoroughly enjoyed this romantic comedy, which had me happily turning the pages and feeling immersed in the story. The heartwarming storyline starts with Ruby being left devastated at the altar, and best friend Emily stepping in to cheer her up by suggesting they take the non refundable honeymoon cruise together. As the cruise is for newlyweds only the best friends pretend to be a married couple, which is fine until Emily meets Max, the ships very hot photographer. Emily doesn’t want to let Ruby down or get then thrown off the cruise but, she also can’t keep her hands to herself around Max.
Whilst enjoying the Caribbean Emily needs to find a way of having her fling and supporting her best friend, and maybe she can have the best of both worlds. This fun, lighthearted romance had wonderful characters. I loved the friendship between Emily and Ruby which came across really well in the narrative. The chemistry between Emily and Max sizzled off the page, and the Caribbean setting was brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative. There were some really emotional moments and some laugh out loud moments, all of which kept me hooked from start to finish.

If you are looking for a fun romantic comedy that would be perfect to read poolside or while feeling the ocean breeze, then this one is for you.

Revenge Honeymoon by K.J. Gillenwater follows best friends Emily and Ruby after Ruby was left at the alter. What’s the best way to start healing that broken heart?…by still going on the honeymoon! The besties go on the already planned honeymoon cruise and pretend to be a married couple because naturally they are on a newlyweds cruise.

While Ruby is healing, Emily is falling for the handsome (single) cruise photographer. Will Ruby be able to be there for her friend while pursuing a budding romance for herself?

The characters are so fun, quirky and interesting. The author did a great job with character development while keeping the book light hearted and fun. Grab a frozen drink and dig into this quick, entertaining read!

Happy Reading

Emily was very rude and annoying and assumptive when she first met Max. I mean I understand she’s supposed to be awkward but I felt like it was taken too far. Both Max and Emily are too self-deprecating. There is too much internal thoughts, not enough dialogue. The book felt very repetitive and it was difficult for me to get through. It’s just not my cup of tea but I’m sure someone else will enjoy it.

This is the story of Emily and Ruby. Two best friends who definitely have ideas that aren’t always the best. Emily tries her best in everything but somehow always falls short when compared to her friend Ruby. Ruby is madly in love and about to get married… until she is left at the altar. Emily, as all best friends would, comes up with a brilliant plan to help Ruby. They’re going to go on Ruby’s honeymoon together. I mean, really, isn’t that what every best friend would do?
However, their plan hits a small problem when they discover that the cruise is for couples only! They decide to get creative and pretend to be a couple. There’s absolutely no way that this plan can go wrong, right? I mean best friends are close to being a couple.
When one of them falls madly in love with the ship’s photographer their plan begins to go awry. Will their trip be ruined if someone has a tryst? Will they be sent with their bags packing because they aren’t a couple.
Can they continue to have the trip they meant to when this happens? Will thier friendship falter?
I LOVE this book! The adventures that the girls have are wonderful and I definitely was left wanting more. I only hope that someday I have a friend like Emily. She definitely means well and I could relate to her so much! This was such a fun and easy red. I definitely want to read more of their adventures. This was the perfect weekend read that made me wanting a trip to the Carribean ASAP!

When I read the description of this book I knew I had to pick it up, because the descriptions of Emily and her bff reminded me so much of myself and my bff. I could seriously see myself trying to talk my bff into something just like this in order to have fun, distract her, and help her through her heartache. This is a fun Romantic Comedy that holds plenty of humor, some love, a smidgen of revenge, and a quirky fake relationship. The author did a phenomenal job writing these characters who are funny, loveable, and just people I wanted to read about.

What do u get when u mix one loud friend, with a heart the size of Texas and one friend who seems to have her life in order and everything going for her? You guessed it, you get one exciting, humorous, wild ride… I mean cruise. Do yourself a favor and pick this fun, fast read up I guarantee you won’t be sorry you did.

What does one do when left at the altar?
Well according to Emily, take Ruby on a Revenge Honeymoon!
Revenge Honeymoon is a romance of a different color. It’s sad but fun. The author wrote a playful story where getting over a horrible situation turns out better than expected!
Ruby, the jilted bride.
Emily, the maid of honor who has a plan to make it right.
And off they go. On the Honeymoon Ruby should’ve been on with her new husband. However things get interesting since it’s a cruise full of newlyweds. Reality the cruise line knows the deal, but to everyone else around them they are a newly wed lesbian couple to hide Ruby’s embarrassment.
One photo session later, they’ve made a new friend and one that could rock Emily’s boat. Which she is at war with herself about. On one hand she can’t take her eyes off of handsome Max. On the other hand, this trip is about Ruby not her. Which all starts to unravel the minute Emily has had a little too much wine. She can’t shut up! They have to keep changing their story to keep Ruby’s real reality under wraps.
What happens when Max becomes the enemy?
What did he do?
To answer those questions it’s time to join the author on the cruise of a lifetime. Well at least for Emily and Max. For Ruby it changes the trajectory of her life. The way the author wrote and depicted that throughout kept me hooked. The character development was phenomenal. Especially for Ruby she grew leaps and bounds and it was wonderful to see.
To reiterate a wonderfully fun read! Check it out!

What a fun read! Emily and Max are such fun and quirky characters who you fall for straight away. Emily convinces her best friend Ruby to go on the cruise she had booked for her honeymoon after Ruby is left at the altar. They meet Max, a fill in cruise photographer and the fun begins. I loved how the author had the male character show an insecure side as well as Emily. I also thought Emily’s knack for getting lost in her thoughts and spacing out from time to time was super cute. All the characters were completely relatable and this wonderful, talented author weaved a funny, creative story for us all to enjoy.

I really enjoyed this romantic comedy story. The author does an amazing job with the characters and I loved them because I could see so much of me and my friend in them. The friendship between Emily and Ruby is really special and you just know no matter what these girls will be by each others side always.

When Ruby is left at the alter she is understandable heartbroken but her best friend and maid of honour comes to the rescue with a great way to save something from the disaster. The girls are going to go on the couples honeymoon cruise and have a great time. What could go wrong?
This story is full of funny laugh out loud moments, twists as the story progresses and the main theme of friendship no matter what. These girls get up to so many adventures and things you don’t even imagine but you won’t wait to put it down until the end. I fell in love with this book as well as the characters. Ruby gets left at the altar and her best friend Emily suggests they take the honeymoon cruise anyway since it is already paid for and it will give them some time away.
This book is fun and funny. There are some points when you really want Emily to just get past her insecurities, but being the “unattractive friend” as well, I totally get her point of view. I do enjoy how she starts taking over her insecurities though. I really liked her dynamic with Max.

Revenge Honeymoon is a fun Rom Com that will have you laughing. It reminded me a bit of the movie Like Father with some of the situations and shenanigans these two get up to. This tale has all the feels and I enjoyed the wit and banter.

After she’s left at the altar, Ruby ends up on her Caribbean “honeymoon” cruise with her maid-of-honour and bestie Emily and the adventure begins. Unfortunately, happily married couples on their honeymoon are the last thing she wants to see but sometimes there is more than the eye sees.

Somewhere between trying to make her bestie happy, hoping not to be caught and de-boated and her attraction to someone out of her league Emily finds herself in some crazy places.

Grab a drink and settle in to enjoy a few hours of reading this delightful story.

Loved this!
Emily’s best friend, Ruby, is left at the alter on her wedding day. Emily and Ruby are now off on Ruby’s would be newly married couples honeymoon cruise and Emily is set on making her bestie enjoy herself as much as possible – including pose as her new wife. Emily and Ruby become fast friends with the dreamy photographer, Max and shenanigans ensue.

The premise was great and my favourite thing was the friendship between Emily and Ruby. The details of the cruise were spot on, felt like I was on the ship with them. The tension between Emily and Max was satisfying and the pacing was perfect.

I was hooked as soon as I started readying. Such an enjoyable read!
