Revenge Honeymoon by K.J. Gillenwater – Review by Karyn Taylor
Revenge Honeymoon by K.J. Gillenwater
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a great, heart-warming, funny romantic comedy that I loved reading. I had never read any of this author’s work before so was unsure of what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised when I got a well written book with great characters.
You wouldn’t think that a book about a jilted bride taking her maid of honour on the honeymoon would be a funny topic but it actually lends itself to so much humour. In particular, the fact that the cruise is for newly weds so Ruby and Emily pretend to be a newly married couple which leads to much hilarity.
I adored Emily as a character as she’s so ditzy but very caring and loyal to a fault. I liked Ruby but wouldn’t say that I loved her. Max, however, is such a sweetheart. As hot and handsome as he was, he wasn’t cocky or arrogant as many male leading characters are. He was insecure and vulnerable which made him all the more appealing. I really wanted to give that man a huge hug.
The story flowed really well and kept me engaged and entertained throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely read more by this author.
