If you’re looking for a great page turning sci-fi book, this is definitely the one! I truly enjoyed that there was romance in this story (it’s not always included in fantasy or science fiction) and I was impressed with the friendships were well developed for a sci-fi book. For the setting to take place about 2500 years in the future, it is a well written, well thought out book. I definitely want to see what happens next. I seriously can’t wait for book 2!

I love stories of forbidden love. It gives that feeling like anything is possible regardless of what anyone else says. Raven is the little enchantress who doesn’t believe in division, and Master Romano is one who is about truth and honor. Together, they do an amazing job at dealing with the chaos around them every turn. Absolutely beautiful characters and story. I am grateful that I got to read this.

This was such an amazing story; I loved reading it so much! Melodie/El and Wil had such great chemistry and dialogue and pacing was perfect. This book had so much emotion and feelings enveloped within it. It was fantastic to see how the characters were able to grow and develop throughout the story. I also loved the relationship between Melodie and Sven, her bodyguard, I definitely feel like Sven has more of a tale to be shared and so I am hoping we might get to learn even more about him in the following book. I loved all of the relationships that Wil created and was able to introduce El into and be a part of. We get to see as the Rockstar’s daughter, she isn’t really able to make friends and it was so sweet seeing her get to be a part of something special with everyone and feeling like she belonged. This was a fantastic story and I can’t wait to see more of them in the following book!

Rock and Becca are my new favorite couple. This book definitely has its ups and downs but never disappoints. I have yet to read/listen to anything from this author that I haven’t absolutely love. Her talent for storytelling is out of this world. This book was narrated by Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister as are the first 6 books in this series. They are awesome together. This Is a great YA book that will grab your attention. The main character is relatable and pretty interesting. Her experience on the first year at the Academy is so interesting and have some fun moments. I love the little details of the story that make all fall together. This was a fun, quick read about a young witch who just wants to find a way to fit in to the paranormal world. MaKayla is the only daughter in a family of bright sons and is trying to prove her worth when it seems her powers aren’t ready to shine.
Grave Digger Academy is her first year and with all the normal teenager drama comes a little more than they all bargained for. I loved this book and I’m so excited to get started on book 2 and see what happens in MaKayla’s next year! I think my only complaint is the timeline seems to run a bit fast.

Breathless in Love by Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully Narrated by Eva Kaminsky Five Stars
This is the first book in the Maverick Billionaires Series. This is also the first book I have listened to by either of these authors. I’m hooked. This was such a feel good listen. I can’t wait to hear the other brothers stories. Eva Kaminsky is an awesome narrator. Her voice is really easy to listen to. I felt like I was right there with the characters. This book was a fun interpretation of the world of witches. I enjoyed meeting the main characters and following them as they learned about themselves and where they fit in the madcap world they are a part of. The main character, Makayla, is funny and interesting. It was a joy to travel with her on this journey to discovering her magic and how she fits into the magical world. I have read other books from this author and was not disappointed with this book. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I really enjoyed reading about Moby. The lesson it teaches young readers about not giving up and putting the effort in is definitely needed. My girls loved the pictures and and want a flute for themselves now. I’m definitely going to be looking at the authors other children books.

I love all things Supernatural, so this book got my attention. It promised fire and chaos, and it delivered. There wasn’t a dull moment. A lot of times when you start reading a book, it tends to start off rather slow. It usually dives into the background story or characters and drags a little bit. That wasn’t the case with this book. It grabbed me from the very first page and I was hooked.

I really enjoyed this fun, witty, paranormal read from the get go!! Honestly the cover was fire 🔥 and is what compelled me actually to give the synopsis a read to then later reading the book!! LOL I am very glad I did too!! The world the author created was nothing short of amazing and loved the character Makayla she created even more. It was most certainly full of surprises && had many twists to keep you reading. May be read in one sitting quite quickly. Actually an overall GREAT start to a wonderful series. A really good take on the magical school style of novel for teens. This one focuses on when a student goes into their chosen school through some arcane ritual. We follow Makayla as she winds up at the disreputable Gravedigger academy. Through her studies, some rumors and the other students she finds out some secrets of the school, her world and about herself and family. I felt this was a really good take on a concept that can be hard for authors to do well without being repetitive. King manages to hit it out of the ballpark though!

Master Romano is a member of the Vampire Consulate and has been for centuries, he is cool headed and calm and a well respected member, however with recent events he has been sent in a mission to try and stop the ongoing feud between the vampires and the witches. Raven is a young witch in training, but she has always felt trapped between two worlds and not having many powers, she feels like she is wasting her time learning all this witchcraft and is just waiting for her time there to be finished so she can go back to her life.
As Master Romano is heading back to his home in Romania, he checks the security footage and sees someone creeping round his garden, the don’t move, just watch, so before the sun comes up, he goes to investigate. Raven has an itch to see what a vampire is like, are they as bad as the other witches say they are? She is insatiably curious and so decides to go and stake out the proverbial vampire next door, however, when he catches her in the act, she runs away.
As time passes, neither Raven or Master Romano can keep their minds off of the other and seem to find reasons to run into each other, but as the tensions between the witches and vampires escalate, Raven lands right in the middle of it and ends up having to trust Master Romano to help her, but when she is suspected as a spy, will Master Romano be able to take her life, or will the undeniably strong feelings between this witch and this vampire hold true?
This is a paranormal romance with a streak of forbidden love and steamy scenes of an adult nature with a good dollop of action in between, it is a fantastic continuation and one which you will not want to put down.

What a cute fun story. Wednesday is in love with her best friend but that’s one secret she can’t share, with anyone. They both need to find their mates sadly it isn’t each other…or is it? Wednesday is a free-spirited mage while Ryker is a panda shifter. Surely, they can’t be mates. Best friends yes, friends with benies, well of course but only until they find their true mates.
This is my first book by this author what a great discovery! This story is the 7th in the Paris in Springtime Series however there was no reference to any other story that may have been missed. Since this story was so fun to read, I am looking forward to reading the other stories.

Oh boy, did I enjoy this novella! Emma is back in an A Christmas Carol-type mystery. I loved the light-heartedness mixed with a bit of spookiness. Emma is back at it, helping a friend investigate a haunted mansion. This book was the perfect fall/Christmas read. There are some twists and turns and it keeps you hooked. This book is fast-paced and a page-turner. It is also a quick read. I was very sad to be done reading it. The ending is clever. You will definitely enjoy this book.

To put in the simplest terms, Action Packed, Page Turner. Schneider doesn’t skip a beat, you jump right into the action, no room for leading story lines, your are transformed into an apocalyptic world first sentence. This was a very fast paced read, truly a page turner, certainly one that could be read in one sitting. And despite all the action happening, Schneider still manages to build on character growth. This is certainly a 5 out of 5 and honestly that says a lot since Zombie Apocalypse is not something I typically enjoy reading.
I really loved this story. The characters were very heartfelt and I felt a bond with them immediately. I saw that this is the first book in a series and I truthfully cannot wait for the second book. El is the stepdaughter of a rock star. She has lived her life in his shadow. She has always struggled with doing anything but music. However, she doesn’t want to be the child of a rockstar who thinks they can make it based on their last name. She is determined to make it in the industry at all costs, which will prove to be hard given being under her parents thumb. Wil is the product of a single mother and his grandfather. He has traveled to Las Angeles for a film competition. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for more reasons than just the chance to become known for what he loves. Wil and El end up bumping into one another by chance. However, there doesn’t seem like there is going to be anything ordinary about the two of them. Their chemistry is undeniable. They are both keeping secrets from each other, and when those come to light things become tested between them. If you are on the fence about reading this, please read it! It is such a fun, well written read.

Haunted Christmas is another book in the Notebook Mysteries series. It could probably be read as a stand alone, but with some difficulty. There are a lot of characters, which I know from past books, and their relationships and professions. While you may follow and enjoy as a stand alone, some might struggle keeping the characters straight. This is a quick read, much shorter than the others in the series. It takes place around Christmas time, and has many references to Dickens “A Christmas Carol”. I enjoyed it, and like how the case was wrapped up. The author is so creative with the crimes and methods used, as well as fitting of the time. I look forward to more adventures with Emma and her family.
I haven’t read a good YA book in quite some time and this was a good start! To start: The only reason for 3 stars is because I feel like there was a LOT going on and it was a little clunky trying to connect everything.
Now what i liked: I liked the premise of kids attending magical academies- and the way they discover which academy they have been accepted too was super neat. The staff were interesting with varying personality, and the familiars were super cute. Makayla is your typical teen- mischievous, curious, and loves to break the rules! Thomas might be my favorites of the side characters- he had some of the funniest lines (and who doesn’t love squirrels?) There’s a little bit of drama but nothing too earth shattering. If you like magical academies and a quick read- give this one a read friends!

I was between books and decided to find something to fill my time before I decided which book to read next. Little did I know I’d end up reading it in one sitting instead of a couple days like I planned. I’m glad I’m no longer in the dating game now, as I feel like even without the illness, dating can be hard and even harder when you are trying to find someone who won’t try to eat you. What a sweet and enjoyable read this turned out to be. I was a bit concerned that I wouldn’t connect with the story when I realised it was the 7th book in the series but it wasn’t something I needed to worry about. It can easily be read as a standalone and was a great and entertaining story to read. I thought the characters were likeable from the start. They had such a sweet connection that you couldn’t help but want them to make things work. The story was quite a quick and easy read. I engaged with it no problem and was carried along by what was happening. It was great to see the relationship develop as the book went on. This was a great book and I will be checking out more of the series.

This is a great story written by two clearly talented authors. The characters have been put front and centre of this book, with their story and development being what it is all about. The overall storyline feels like it is there to support and compliment them and to make you, as the reader, engage with them. This is the first time I have a read a book by these authors and I enjoyed the collaboration. The book flowed well, seamlessly moving through the story. You couldn’t tell who had written which part of the book and I enjoyed that. it kept the pace of the book and didn’t break your connection. This was an enjoyable story and I look forward to discovering more of their work.

Grave Digger Academy by C.A. King is a fun, fast paced, ya, paranormal read that you don’t want to miss. This series gives you a Harry Potteresque feel as you learn magic with the witch, Makayla and her unique friends.
When Makayla gets denied by her top three paranormal academies she is sent to the academy that no one wants, GraveDigger Academy. It’s here she meets a unique group of individuals, some who become friends while others are better left as enemies. Makayla faces a lot of unique twists, turns, and challenges in this book.
Personally I loved being immersed in this new world of magic. This series has everything you want in a ya paranormal book such as: action, humor, interesting characters, great world building, and an interesting storyline. I’m really glad I found this book and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

True Colors by K. R. Raye is the final installment in The Colors Trilogy. I truly had so many moments of “oh my gosh” in this book that I lost count. I mean, I had JUST started the book and I was already sad! And then there was an attack that left me with my mouth open just staring at the book. So much happened in this book between all the lives lost and the new ones coming. All of the crazy twists that these friends have experienced. I am so happy they each got their happily ever after. This was a fantastic series and I’m sad it’s over.

The Colors of Love by K. R. Raye is book two in The Colors Trilogy. Wow this one was full of sooooo many surprises, secrets and crazy happenings! And just when I thought the book was almost over, I’m only 44% of the way done?! Hello what more can happen!? Melody’s rant toward Imani was perfection. I loved every word. Between all of the friends getting their own chapter it seemed, there was so much development. It sometimes became hard to keep up but because it all ties together it does come back around. I am so rooting for Lance. He is turning into a better guy although he does still have his moments. The love this trio of friends has for one another is so obvious and I am here for it.

The Colors of Friendship by K. R. Raye is book one in The Colors Trilogy. I took a chance on this book and overall I did enjoy it. Some of this was hard to read and not necessarily because of content. There seemed to be too many parts of the story. Too many different peoples voices to read about. I wasn’t sure whose story this was supposed to be or the trio as a whole. I did like that you seemed to get the full picture if what was happening but just felt like too many voices. I really liked Imani, she was the perfect best friend. Though their friendships seemed a little weird for only knowing one another a short time, I think back to my own freshman year of college and absolutely bonded with a “random” guy on the first day and we are still friends to this day. So the story felt realistic. And shoot I wasn’t expecting that ending! What a cliffhanger! I cannot wait to read book two!
