The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla, #1)The Hunted by S.B. Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I LOVE THIS BOOK!

The synopsis pulled me in right away, this book hits the ground running and is a fantastic start to a series.

The Author does an amazing job at keeping you at the edge of your seat, reading as fast as you can. The Authors writing style flows so smoothly, along with their characters and storyline, I read the majority of the book in one sitting. I love the main characters and how their witty banter slowly draws them closer.

This is my first read from the Author and it will most definitely not be last. I am looking forward to what comes next!

The Last Cabin Girl (Detective Josie Thompson Series) by Tom Swyers – Review by Wendy Wary

The Last Cabin Girl: A totally gripping thriller full of twistsThe Last Cabin Girl: A totally gripping thriller full of twists by Tom Swyers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A sleepy Nebraskan town with a top secret lab that holds federal contracts and a mysterious history tied to the river it’s situated upon sets the backdrop to this haunting tale. Josie seems to face impossible odds as she battles to protect her kids from her abusive drug dealing doctor of a soon-to-be ex husband, tries to unravel the family secrets that only she seems to not be in on, uncover the truth of the mysterious deaths surrounding her, and battle her own mental struggles as she navigates through a pandemic that no one else seems to seriously consider. This is a thrilling, dark, twisty tale that wasn’t as predictable as I first suspected. The author creates just the right amount of tension and suspense through to the shocking end.

Another fun read from C.A. King.
Spring’s Showers: Romantically Seasonal Spring is the first book in the Romantically Seasonal Series by C.A. King. It is a captivating paranormal romantic comedy with plenty of humour and sparks.
This is a shorter story- which I devoured in one very easy sitting. As I expected, Ms. King sprinkled this story with a lot of creative and originality, as well as a dash of quirkiness- which resulted in a captivating story.
What happens when you mix some gods, a bet, meddling mother nature, four seasons, a challenge, Valentine’s Day, a little chaos, cupid, and humour? You’ll want this book if you want to know what happens in this engaging story.
Bring on the rest of the series!
Happy reading!

Thank you, C.A. King!

This was another incredible book about Dahlia. Dahlia is an amazing lead role who kicks butt and is an incredible crime fighter. I do have to say I did not read book three and I’m really wishing I did, even thou I was still able to follow ago and know what was going on, I feel like I need to go back and read the last book, for a more in-depth understanding. This book is an amazing action-packed fantasy read. I seriously couldn’t put it down like the first two. highly recommend this book this is such an amazing series.

Nite Fire: Slash & Burn (Book 4) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Taylor K Stephenson

~Dragons, Darkness, Mystery, and Romance~

The narrator did an AMAZING job with this, I was so impressed by their ability to change voices for different characters. It was so easy to hear the differences and follow along with the story. Superb story telling!!!

What a fun ride getting into the next novel in this series. This may be my favorite one yet! Dahlia is continuing to develop not just her own innate talents, but the forces that be around her. Her world is changing, the humans world is changing, as well as other worlds all around her.

Dahlia is such a strong heroine, it’s really exciting to watch her band together with some likely, and some unlikely ties, to do the right thing. She answers to no one, and to everyone. I just love seeing how consistent her core characteristics are, but how capable she is and just how vulnerable she can be when it comes to saving the ones that she loves.

Pick up the fourth book in the Nite Fire series, you won’t regret it.

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In this next book of the series Luc is brought into the fold and offered his rightful position as a family boss and Summer, a temporary employee of his new company, is dragged along with him. She is running from danger created by the impulsive actions of another. Ending up with hanging out with a Mafia family while running from another is definitely not what she planned. She soon finds out however, there is so much more in common between her and Luc than she thought possible and that together they both may have just found the one place they truly fit in.
This author always keeps me on the edge of my seat while reading this series. Her talent for creating tough but heartfelt characters is truly amazing. I feel that this 5th book can be read as a stand alone but I HIGHLY recommend reading the other books of the series not only because they are fantastic but also because it will give you more insight into the storyline and other characters.

Zenni is such a handful. She is such a spitfire that Colton never sees coming. She confronts him when she finds out that he plans to tear down the plantation that her ancestors lived on. He doesn’t understand why she would want something to remain that has such awful memories attached for so many people. They both feel strongly about their stances on the demolition and as she tries to change his mind, they get to know each other and begin to grow closer. They’re both so drawn to each other but they each have issues they’re going to have to get past if they want their relationship to work, This is a beautiful, emotion filled romance that you won’t want to miss.

Vampires are one of my favorite supernatural creatures. I have loved vampires ever since I first heard of Dracula when I was in junior high. I am always looking forward to new novels about vampires and this book did not disappoint me at all. Sam and Layla’s story was a bit different but that just made it all the more interesting to read. This author created a really good book and I look forward to seeing more from this author.

Wow! This is an amazing start to the series! I mean the cover alone drew me in. First Layla is the strong sexy fighter we all admire. Then there’s Sam, the hot and bold vampire. Fate or life throws them in each others path, it doesn’t really matter. Now this is where the story gets real good. Some of these scenes will make your mouth water. Prepare yourself for the slow delightful burning romance between these enemies to lovers. I have already pre-ordered the next two books because yes it was that good! Fore warning it ends on a cliff hanger but is oh so worth the read.

This book is centered around Zee and Clara. Zee comes across Clara and immediately wants to possess her and tries everything to, but Zee has met his match with Clara. She doesn’t give in very easy and gives Zee a run for his money. This Good vs Evil was a great take on the whole Angel vs Demon and the forces around us. The writing was phenomenal and I couldn’t put it down. The author does a good job at bringing you into the story instead of bringing the story to you. This was a first for me from this author and I greatly enjoyed it. I cant wait to read the other books in this series!

(Layla is my spirit animal the way she stands up to people.)I cannot wait til the second one is released in a couple weeks I will be getting it the day of because ughhhhhh the cliffhanger in this should be illegal 😭😭. Beelzebub, Zee, a prince of Hell, the demon of gluttony, loves his job of tempting humans to overindulge. Clara, is a human Zee just can’t seem to tempt. This intrigues him and he continues to try going so far as to change some of his own habits. Heaven and Hell already on the brink of war take notice of this. Will Clara be safe? Will Zee? Will they end up in the fight? Will Zee and Clara be able to find their HEA?

I absolutely loved the writing style of this book. The characters were well defined, I could imagine them in our world. The scenery of the book was excellent as well. I recommend the book. Cant wait to see what comes next.

This is the first book I have read by this author, but they are going on my favorites list. Regan is the first in her family to graduate high school and isn’t really surprised that no one in her family is there to support her. Jeremy works for the family business and is ready to take it over. Poor girl meets rich boy and it is love at first sight. Sounds easy enough, then real life hits. Can these two see past their issues and social standings to make it work? I loved the chemistry between these two and was rooting for them from the first look. Thank you author for letting me live in a different world even for a short time.

Lily is a human and a servant to the royals while Jason is next in line to be alpha and king. Lily gets attacked by another person in the pack and is sent to the hospital where she runs into Jason. Jason realizes they are mates. He instantly gets the need to protect her. Against the odds will they make it. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Such a great read….and so happy I picked up this book. If you love a paranormal story with action, shifters and wolves definitely read this book.

I was intrigued by the concept of how the wolves were dominate and humans were used as “slaves”. Lily, who is a human, is a slave to the Wolf Hollow and truly is just getting by day to day. The king’s son, Jason, is the future King of Wolf Hollow. When Jason learns whom he is truly to be mated with, the King does not approve, especially since it is Lily. Jason is truly a protector and would do anything to keep Lily safe, even though at first she wants to keep her head down and not cause trouble. Will Jason and Lily’s fate keep them together?

I loved this story and I loved Lily’s character, even at times parts were heartbreaking but how strong she tried to be. I am so looking forward to the 2nd book as I cannot wait to find out what happens next!

Stolen from her home, Lily is a human servant of the royal family in Wolf Hollow. Jason, a werewolf, is the prince and heir. After a horrible incident Lily ends up in the royal hospital and the same time as the prince. Jason’s wolf is positive that Lily is its mate just by her scent. The two will face multiple obstacles if they want to be together. But the question is will they be willing to fight to be together?

This is the first book I have read by Ms. Howl. Overall, I enjoyed the book. There were a few of the major background facts that I wish would have been given more of a back story not that it detracts from the story I just thought it would add to it. I loved the story and I would recommend it; however, if you are like be and hate when a story it broken down into multiple pieces be warned. Even know that now that I have read the first part I cant wait for the second part to come out.

The-Know-It-All-Pencil (Invisible Magic Wand Series) by Lois Wickstrom – Review By Elizabeth Rose

The Know-It-All Pencil (Invisible Magic Wand)The Know-It-All Pencil by Lois Wickstrom

It’s Caspian’s Unbirthday and he can’t wait to see what surprise Grandpa got him this year! When he opens the box he finds a yellow pencil and a small pad of green paper but it’s not just any pencil, it’s a Know-It-All pencil! Caspian sets out on a “star adventure” on his way to school.

This is a cute children’s book that involves make believe, doing good deeds, helping others out and trading for things others want/need. There is a lot of diversity among the characters, which I think is really important in a children’s book. The illustrations are very colorful and super cute. I would recommend this book for kiddos age pre-K thru 3rd grade.

The Last Cabin Girl (Detective Josie Thompson Series) by Tom Swyers – Review by Vanessa Watts

The Last Cabin GirlThe Last Cabin Girl by Tom Swyers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is an undeniable thrill to read, so much so that 5 stars just doesn’t seem to do it justice! This one kept me guessing until the very end with so many twists and turns that it might make you dizzy. The plot is amazing and the author seamlessly combined the growing Covid19 pandemic that happened in 2020 into this gripping thrill ride. That kind of takes me back to dealing with the pandemic, shortages, and fear that was ever present!

Josie who is dealing with a terrible not quite ex husband named Eddie, her past discovery of a pink body, and growing concerns of a rising pandemic that everyone in the US is downplaying. As if that’s not enough she discovers a body floating in the river near her cabin, and she becomes a prime murder suspect. After multiple victims surface, Josie is arrested for the murders and is released on bond secured by her cabin and help from a wealthy bachelor who seems taken with Josie. Unfortunately for Josie things just aren’t adding up and she knows if she can find Eddie she’ll be free from murder charges and be rid of her ex. Only the more she finds the more secrets are unraveled. It seems everybody she meets is keeping some sort of secret from her. Can Josie come out on the other side after all these secrets are uncovered? Or is the past doomed to repeat itself and more bodies pile up?

Overall, I did not see where the author was going with this story until close to the very end. The range of emotions you go through while reading this book are immense. Some characters you start out loving only to hate them later on and vice versa. This is a dynamic book that I will recommend to all avid readers that enjoy thrillers. It makes you want to keep coming back until the story is finished and all the secrets are unraveled. Secrets are a terrible thing to keep and sometimes an even terrible thing to overcome!

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla) by S.B. Alexander – Review by Tia Martel

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla, #1)The Hunted by S.B. Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sam Mason is terrifying, sexy, and powerful. As a Navy SEAL he’s trained to do some serious damage, but as a VAMPIRE Navy SEAL, he’s downright lethal.

Everything about Sam Mason puts Layla on edge. Before they met she was determined to capture him and turn him over to her employer, now she’s doing everything she can to keep her distance and keep him out of her head and her bed.

When the job goes sideways and Layla’s sisters are in danger, she has to turn to Sam and the SEALs for help. She’s trying so hard to trust the enemy and save her family, but can she save herself?

The Hunted is a spin-off series with some HEAT! Layla and Sam have some serious chemistry and the fact that there’s so much tension really helps bring in the burn.

There are some areas that could use some detail work and some spots I felt a little lost, but I imagine if I had read the original series I’d be a lot more in the loop. It’s definitely not needed to learn about Sam and Layla, but it could be useful for some other characters.

It’s a fun, light-hearted romantic suspense for the enemies to lovers and paranormal trope fans. I’d recommend it for anyone who loves a quick read and a slow burn. I’m excited to check out the previous series and also to see what is next.
