I loved this book when I read it for the first time. It felt like such a fresh and imaginative way to retell a classic tale. So when I saw the audio book version I just knew I had to give it a try, and it was definitely worth it! I felt like I become so much more involved and invested in the character and the story. I found myself getting lost in the narration and pulled into the familiar story once more.
I enjoyed the fact that it really does feel like a new way to reinvent Cinderella, a story that has been told time and again. The author has done a brilliant job of making the story their own and the audio book brings that to life. This is a great book to try today.

This book was the perfect combination of murder, suspense, and happiness. It was a page turner from the beginning an did not stop. Angie the “Sole Survivor” goes mute after not one but two brutal attacks, until a K-9 dog Cody comes to the rescue. He also comes with a steamy sidekick Jake.

This book is so emotional and raw but such an amazing insight into a life that is genuinely incredible. The author has done an amazing job at creating a window into her world, giving her readers the chance to learn and experience so much about her. I have always enjoyed her works of fiction but this book is something special. I connected with it in a way I did not expect and it has stayed with me long after I have finished reading. Even if you read nothing else but her I would highly recommend this book.

This is not normally a book that I would read but it was great! Azreya is the warrior princess you didn’t know you needed. Join her on an adventure unlike any other. When a twist happens, she sets out on her own to help the Aztec people. Will she be able to keep her “demon” under control and save her people or will the Spanish take them all down? I love supernatural books and this is the first one from this author I have read and man I was not let down. I like how the author brings the characters to life. The chemistry really is flowing between the characters. I like how there is a big mix of drama and intrigue mixed in with action. The author does a good job of creating the world and drawing in the reader into it. I felt as though I was right there in the midst of the adventure as it ensued. I really cannot wait to read more from this author in the future.
Wicked Treasure (The Charm Collector Book 3) by Melissa Erin Jackson. I loved the 2nd book in this series so I was so excited about reading this one and I was not disappointed. Its the continuing story of Harlow and also the story of her best friend Kayda. Harlow is on the hunt for the magical sword, Caspian, to solve the mystery of the origins of the sentient sword. Kayda has been left behind to deal with Collective who is creating chaos. Kayda is not happy about this. Kayda and Harlow have always been friends, partners in crime in everything so when Kayda is ghosted by Harlow she is not happy at all and doesn’t understand. They both find themselves in dangerous situations during their quests. Will Harlow find the magic sword and will Kayda be able to hold the fort down without everything falling apart? A Love Restrained by Becky Flade. I really enjoyed this book. Romantic Suspense is one of my favorite genres so I was really excited this one was so good. Its the story of Kylee Parker and Jayson Donovan who grew up together in the same neighborhood and had mutual crushes on each other but they never told each other. Kylee has gone on to become a police officer to try to right all the wrongs unfortunately she arrests Jayson after she witnesses him in the middle of a drug deal. Kylee has to do her job so she does but she feels bad for Jayson and after seeing him realizes that she still has feelings for him. Kylee comes from a hard working family and she’s a strong, independent woman. Jayson comes from a broken home where alcohol was the main thing along with yelling and sadness. When he gets involved with a drug king he knows he has to change. Will Kaylee’s influence help him get on the right side of the law? Read A Love Restrained to find out!

What a good good story! I enjoyed the world and the characters this author created. I liked meeting Ava and her friends. The author did a good job of getting me to worry and wonder about each of them. Are they good or bad? What are their secretive powers? Will they all be able to survive?
I loved all the activity and action. It easily kept me interested and reading. My biggest and really only issue is the Spanish speaking without translation throughout the book. It frustrated me since I didn’t understand what was being said. So I usually just ended ip skipping them.

What a wonderful YA story. I Loved that this is a play off of Cinderella. The characters are lively and I could empathize with them because they are so realistic. I liked that Ashley worked in a mortuary and lives with evil stepmother. How different yet Intriguing. Harry I was prepared not to like but somehow the author made me change my mind. I ended up really enjoying his kindness and thought process.
The ending give an implication that there will be another story either more of these two or another couple. Either way I will check it out. The writing is easy to read and flows very nicely. This is filled with drama, cliques an surprises. I enjoyed every second.

In Plain Sight is Book 8 in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series. Logan is now married to her best friend Ben and has settled into a routine. She still plays her beloved violin, Bella, and her music career is blossoming. Life is good and Logan has time to do the things she enjoys like going for morning runs by her home on the Oregon coast. It is during these runs that she becomes fascinated with the beauty of the owls, hawks, and eagles she encounters along the way. Wanting to learn more about these majestic creatures she decides to volunteer at the Cascades Raptor Center.
Through her volunteer work at the Cascades Raptor Center Logan not only learns more about the owls, hawks, and eagles but all the work involved in caring for them after they have been rescued. She meets an amazing team of volunteers who have dedicated their lives to the care of these majestic creatures. When Logan goes into volunteer at the Cascades Raptor Center early one morning, she is shocked to discover the body of one of her beloved co-workers in one of the wards. At first glance, it appears that her co-worker has died from natural causes, but Logan cannot shake the feeling that something is not right. When the police investigation seems to be going nowhere fast Logan enlists the help of two of her friends and the three of them set out to solve the mysterious death of Logan’s co-worker. Thankfully, her friends have connections, and they can uncover answers that even the police and the coroner have been unable to discover in their investigations. This sleuthing by Logan and her friends has the killer’s attention now focused on Logan. The deeper her and her friends dig the more sinister secrets are revealed putting Logan’s life in danger. She is now racing against time to solve the mystery before she becomes the killer’s next victim.
I found this book impossible to put down because I needed to find out who the killer was. This book had wonderful characters and was action packed throughout. I became immersed in the lives of Logan and her friends and fully invested in the mystery of her co-worker’s death. I found myself trying to guess at the killer’s identity based on the subtle cues the author gives throughout the book. Boy, was I surprised when the killer was not who I thought it was! The killer truly was hiding in plain sight all along! I highly recommend this book and am going to ensure that I read the rest of the books in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series. If they are half as good as this book, I know that I will not be disappointed!

I really enjoyed this book. The premise of the blind date is one I have never come across before. Made the portion of the actual blind date extremely interesting. I couldn’t even imagine. Not too sure of how I would feel. Jake is talked into going on this blind date by his friends (the boys club). How it turns out is hysterical and you really feel for the guy.
Lauren is an PA for Cade. He’s a wonderful boss and doesn’t want to ever lose her. Things get tense and unnerving when the previous owner is a disrespectful and extremely rude man. Since Lauren is the first line defence, she gets the brunt of this disparaging man.
This book will have you swooning and tense and on your toes throughout.

This is the first book I’ve ever touched by this author…and I’m very upset with myself that it has taken me this long to discover this talent! This is one of those stories that, starting out, I wasn’t sure if it would grab me, but it sure did. I appreciate or don’t appreciate a book mostly based on how well the characters are written and how they come alive for me. This book has some great characters, not to mention a furry one that, for me, is the icing on the cake. The way this author makes a dog one of the most exciting characters is wonderful. I really enjoy a good-paced story with an interesting plot to keep my attention, and I wasn’t disappointed there, either. I will absolutely be looking into getting my hands on more books by this author because it is definitely worth the time.

I have read a handful of novels by this author, and she has yet to disappoint. Her ability to bring the characters to life, and to have the reader feel as though they are standing inside the world of the characters, is something to cherish. I was very much looking forward to reading this series, as one of my favorite television shows has the same sort of feel and antics so I dove head first. And came up for air at the end of this novel, that same day. It appears that this is something that a few readers so far have done. Devoured it.
All families have secrets, and much to Makayla’s dismay, she discovers more and more throughout her stay at Grave Digger Academy, through her own research, and the information presented to her through other characters. The way she handles and stands up for herself is wonderful, and she is a strong, independent female character that I look forward to experience further adventures with. I cannot wait to jump into the next installment, which will likely be this weekend. Goosebumps, shivers and laughs have me highly recommending this experience, well done!

This is a very hot and steamy read. The connection and attraction between the main character is electric and jumps off the page. As a reader you are completely consumed by this couples feelings and attraction. You feel the fight that they go through to not give into their feelings but sometimes there is nothing you can do to fight the attraction.
Callie has lived a protected life with her over protective brother but she is a grown woman and feels its time to go after what she wants. And what she wants is her brother best friend Noah. When she goes to a club hoping to bump into him she gets more than she imagined when she witnesses him with another woman. This vision caused her crush to go from simmering to boiling hot and she knows there is no turning back.
Noah spots Callie in the crowd watching him. He is shocked but also completely captivated by her. His feelings for her change and grow and he wants her so bad.
When Callie is attacked, he takes her in with the intention to protect her as a favour to her brother but as time goes on he realises that he’s also doing it for himself. He is falling for her and can’t help himself. However, this romance isn’t going to be plain sailing. By being with him Callie is in danger and no matter how much he wants her he needs her to keep her distance to protect her from someone in his past.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and had my work life balance allowed I would have read it in one sitting. It is an emotional, dramatic and occasionally dark best friends little sister romance. This is the second book in the series, but is great as a stand-alone, I can defiantly say I am going to go back to the start and read the first book. Callie Rose has for years hidden the fact that she has feelings for her brothers’ best friend. After her parents are jailed, she is raised by her brother so her relationship with him is extremely close. And his view of his little sister is that of one that he needs to protect, as their father is not around. Studying at College Callie makes the decision to try and win the affection of Noah. Noah an Army veteran has a past that he is trying to keep in the past. He has someone who is threatening those he becomes close to. His boss and best friend know nothing about this, and although he has feelings towards his best friends sister, he knows he cannot put her at risk by having a relationship with her. He vents his sexual feelings at The Stable, the local sex club. This works well until the night Callie Rose sits there watching him. But who else is watching, as his past continues to follow him, car accidents, attacks and drugging all add up to an all-encompassing read with a healthy smattering of explicit content.

Make sure to read these books in order and especially read Unbreakable Darkness book 1.5 in the series. It is Dexter’s story and is the prequel to this book Scepter of Fire which is book 2.
The Vigilant series is YA paranormal supernatural stories. Mix in some fantasy and science fiction and you have this adventure where suspense, betrayal and mystery, danger and sacrifice, paranormal beings/creatures and magic will lure you in. The story is action packed and fast-paced.
In this book we see Dexter trying to fix things he did in the past. Once again it is time to face things head on and hope he can save the others.
The ending of this book sets us up for the next.
It took me a while to get into the flow of these books but now I am enjoying it.

Wow this book is such a cute fun read for not only children but the adults reading this for their kids! The story revolves around two friends at a picnic talking about ice cubes and science. One of the children, Maia wants to make a necklace for her mermaid friend, Trezzie, after she asks for one. The other child, Fig, could not see Trezzie and was then letting her friend know the science behind ice cubes and water. It was a super cute, fun, educational read that all children will love. The illustrations are very colorful and wonderfully drawn which made reading this book even more fun and captivating! If you are looking for an author who writes amazing children and adult’s books, then look no further because Lois’s writing is PERFECT for all ages!

Sessrúmnir is the fifth book in this great dystopian post-apocalyptic story. Unfortunately, it is also the last book in this series. I have read all the books in this series and will tell you to make sure to read the books in order. If you don’t you are missing out on so much and each book gets better than the last. The characters have become favourites as I have journeyed along with them with their struggles and lives so far.
Tanya’s writing draws you in and makes you invested in the what happens. But expect the unexpected when reading her books.
Emotions run high as once again everything is in peril and everyone must come together once again to fight for what they love most. Who can they trust?

Brilliant! The girl who escaped is an engaging read and is well written. The characters are intriguing and easy to love. Angie has been through a massive trauma and I felt all her emotions. Brenda is such a strong character and is so driven. I haven’t read the Jake Wolfe series by this author and didn’t realise that Jake and Cody from this book had their own books but I am definitely going to check them out. I loved their characters. With suspense and edge of seat moments, this crime thriller is a must read. Highly recommend.

I love this series!! The men and leading ladies give every story such life, and who doesn’t love a good vampire story. The Consulate is still set in their way or no way and are hell bent on fellow Vampires carrying out demands. Romano and Raven have chemistry that’s beyond Lust, but the vampire and witch thing doesn’t sit well on any end in this world. As tensions high and loyalty vs love comes to play we see just how true a mate bond can be.

When an author does a fairytale retelling it can go wrong or like in this case it can go AMAZINGLY RIGHT.
This modern day retelling of Cinderella was done with respect to the original. The storyline took some twists from the original that just made this book even better then I thought it would be.
Be warned there is some heartwrenching parts that will make you ugly cry. But it’s totally worth it.

Unearthly Magik is the first book in the Black Cauldron Detective Agency series by Matilda Reyes. It is a superb urban fantasy full of mages, action, adventure, drama, magic, the supernatural/paranormal, suspense, danger, agendas, wonderful world-building, crime & investigation, tension, secrets, and mystery. I really loved the premise of the story, and having read a few of Ms. Reyes other books, I couldn’t wait to dive into this one. I loved the characters, the whole supernatural detective agency trope, the missing (powerful and dangerous) grimoire, the plots and agendas, the wonderful world-building of the hidden ‘world’ within New York City, the friendships/banter/quips/antics, the adventure that results from the search for the grimoire, the other ‘jobs’ the agency investigates, and the fact that there is more to come in this series- as I am definitely hooked by Ava and co. Whilst I did enjoy the story, there were quite a few editing issues with this book that I am sorry to say definitely detracted from my overall appreciation of the whole story. Little things, like missing words, wrong words, unfinished sentences, and repeated info, meant that I was regularly ‘pulled out’ of the story- which left me frustrated. This should/could have been a 5+ Star read, but unfortunately it was let down by simple editing issues. The story does have a lot going on in it, and has a fairly fast pace, which the author does choreograph quite well. The story easily captured my attention and imagination, and pulled me into a wonderful adventure (minus the editing issues). I also appreciated that the characters were really well-developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws- who continued to evolve, develop and grow over the course of the story. I am looking forward to seeing where we go from here. Bring on Book #2! Happy Reading!

A delightful, easy read! I really enjoyed this historical, cozy mystery following amateur, teen sleuth, Emma. Set in the late 1800s in Chicago, this story gives the reader a rich history and insight to the time and provides great setting and cases for Emma to discover.
The character and story development were excellent. Emma is an independent, compassionate, and lovable character. Though the story begins with great loss, her resilience shines through. This action packed and often unpredictable cozy mystery is highly recommended. I will be picking up the rest of the series!

This book was the PERFECT ending to a wonderful trilogy. True Colors completes The Colors Trilogy and I loved every minute. I’m sad that it’s time to let these characters go. I guess it’s time to go back to book 1! This author brings to you a trio of friends throughout this series who have literally been put through the ringer. Every bad thing you could imagine to happen does, but it’s evenly balanced because it’s the same with the good. Lance, Melody, and Imani are the friends I want in my life. Completely dedicated to one another, to protect and love each other. I loved all three equally, but I felt this reading book 1 and now that I’m finishing book 3, I can say that I’ve been partial to Imani. She’s so strong, yet so stubborn. I absolutely love everything about her. My heart breaks for her at the beginning of book 3, but she rises up and perseveres and I would expect nothing less. To embrace these books and, yes I mean books, you need to understand that there’s going to be some heavy and strong themes running throughout. That could be potential trigger warnings, I don’t want that to deter you though. These books are wonderful and this author has me looking for her next book. In conclusion, if you read books 1 & 2, what are you waiting for?!? If you haven’t please get all three and dive in deep into book 1. One you won’t want to put them down. Two you will fall in love with these three main characters and their supporting cast. Finally you will have found yourself a new author to love. That will test what you can handle, but give you some enlightening perspectives on viewing life.
