I found this book to quite entertaining. Leo is doing his best to care for his family. He is suffering blackmail by boss. The challenges and drama abound within the whole story. I was wrapped up in the story from the beginning. Leo is they type of character that pulls you in by engaging. I found my favorite parts where watching Leo trying to protect his family. Everything he did was for them. It’s a wonderful debut book and I hope to see more from this author.

“Dex’s father took his hand, tried to pull the ring off again. ‘It’s the ring! Where’d you get this? It’s evil magic.” That sentence explains the story. I love a good book that can pull you in and just keep stringing you along to the end. This one did just that by keeping the story adventurous and challenging. The family and school drama itself made for some wonderful writing. The series will flow better if you read the first book in the series. This book is #1.5 in the order. The way the story pretty much picks up and continues from the last book is smooth sailing. The author throws in a few plot twists that can surprise you. What makes the book great is that the story picks up but the POV changes. Fantastic tale that left me with a cliffhanger. Time to read the next book. If you love paranormal romance, you might like this. It is geared to young adults but the adults enjoy it too.

This book is one heck of an adventure. I found that the adventure just grabs you from the beginning. Troy is still my favorite character. He’s trying to adjust from being out of prison and finds himself fighting a war. Non-stop action, great dialogue, intriguing characters all make for a winner. This is book 2 of the series and I’m looking forward to reading book 3.

Schneider – Review by Shelly Kittell
This is an incredible story. The characters are very well-developed and well-written. There is lots of conversation in this story, whether it’s inner chatter or among others. Kieran and Quinn have an amazing chemistry. The secrets being kept from the other and the challenges they are trying to overcome keep you roped in from the very start of the book. I found the plot to an intriguing tale with many twists along the way. Though written as a stand alone, I will be looking for the others in this series. This was my first foray into the Omegaverse and I’m enjoying the ride so far. Great book. I highly recommend.

Set in the period of 1880’s Chicago, Emma and her beau Jeremy solve mysteries together. Let me tell you, this book starts off with a bang and never lets up! We find Emma and Jeremy are victims of a train wreck and soon find out why the train was sabotaged. As Emma gets help from a town close by, she can help the survivors of the train wreck and collect the money they were seeking. Upon returning home, Emma finds herself wrapped up in a new mystery she found in the newspaper and Jeremy is looking into child labor and sabotage of the glass factory that hires and abuses the children. We find out more about Jeremy’s mother and the relationship between their two fathers. Wow, it’s an explosive story for sure. I appreciate this cute little book in the Notebook Mysteries Series. I just adore the relationship between Emma and Jeremy and find them to almost be the perfect couple supporting each other along the way. The characters are so well-written and easy to identify with. The story does not let up for a moment as we travel along with Emma to solves the mysteries and to keep her family intact. Such a great clean read and the best part of the story is that the main character is a very strong female knife wielding lead. Most enticing aspect was where Emma learned her knife skills from. A definite must read for a day at the beach or lounging around the pool. The words just flow off the page and images of bustles, horse drawn carriages, and Pinkerton agents just filled my head with delightful images. Mullins has done it again!
As our young heroes mature along their own story lines, the Agneson clan is wrought in war and epic challenges no one could have anticipated. The hidden folk present a new set of hurdles I really wasn’t expecting to see, but am totally here for. They each have transformation that propels them further into their own destiny’s.
Kara is my favorite character by far, which of course makes this my favorite installment in this saga (at least until the next one comes out…) Each sibling has such a unique role and character, I just love to see how Jay develops them naturally and so independently as well. It can be hard to keep up with names and places, especially if you are jumping in on book #4, but he actually does a really good job of making the distinctions in a way you can follow/remember.
The Forerunner series is an epic tale I am so glad that I picked up, and will definitely be putting these up on display and hopefully sharing with my friends. I can easily see myself re-reading and dog earing the pages (when I buy the hard-copy) to remember the laughter, heartache, and sheer epic-ness of this saga. My only question is…Is the next one out yet?!?

have loved this series so much. I never knew how much I needed the Mafia in my life until these books. Mia is a New York mob boss’s daughter who just wants out. Not of the mafia just from away from her family. Safe. For that to happen she needs protection. Nico is fine on his own, or at least he thought he was. Mia is a force all her own and she wants Nico. Will he take her up on her offer? I am so sad that this series is over. I see me rereading them in the future!
As Emma carries on from the third book, she is thrown into the world of bank robbers, while trying to find them they are pushed into trying to survive a horrific train wreck, but can they live a quiet life or get bored and want more adventures, you need to read to find out.
Emma and Jeremy have settled into life, but Emma is becoming increasing bored and with her new hobby scouring the papers for cases life will inevitable get more interesting, as Emma starts a case her time becomes more and more taken up and engages Jeremy to help with a second case but when there is a twist and both cases become entangled can the duo work to solve the cases.
There is just something about these stories where you can just let your self indulge within the pages and just let your imagination go wild. Emma as a character is brilliantly written and already the story is set within the 1800’s there is a modern feel to the character. Her relationship with Jeremy has grown in each book and that the feelings shown in each story feels you are on the growth with them and are invested in the outcome.
The story as always was well written and has you intrigued and involved with ever twist and turn which comes your way. This can be read as a stand-alone book but to be fair it is probably better if you read the first three books as you get to understand the dynamic of the characters and the progression they have made. I hope this series continues with more adventures and twists, can wait.

Emma receives a strange request that previous client has left a inheritance and that she needs to get to New York to review the business and papers. So, a trip is organised, and she invites Jeremy along were they start to become closer and need to understand how their relationship will develop as they are locked in a society which frowns upon co-habitation without marriage. They are thrown into task along the way which uncovers more than they are expecting but allows Emma to continue with her business and to expand her team, but when a new case lands which has them looking into murder, kidnapping and much more, can they solve the case and also help out a friend in need all trying to navigate their feelings for each other, you will need to read.
I love this series, Emma’s character is a kick ass woman in an era of conservative views and propriety, but the author navigates this with a understanding and not patronising, this story is well written and draws you into the mysteries as you follow Emma within the story. This story is full of action and intrigue and with the added aspect of Jeremy the love interest it keeps you reading till the last page. I love the interaction between the character of Jeremy and Emma as they are trying to try to have a relationship, they both would like but trying to bypass the traditions of society is challenging within their relationship but is relatable to society today in a way.
This the third book in the series and although I believe you could read as a stand-alone story there are some recurring characters from the other books and history which may be useful in this next instalment but as I say not necessary for your enjoyment in this story. I would recommend this book if you liked the thrill of a mystery with a ton of action and twists and turns which have you feeling you are involved in the action.
Can wait to read the next story in this brilliant series.

If you haven’t read any of Emma’s adventures you may just be missing out. This book starts off with Emma and Jeremy having been in a train accident. They were on a case trying to get back some silver that had recently been stolen. Once those robbers were apprehended they headed back to Chicago to be put on a couple more cases. These characters are so interwoven yet independent which, for the time period these stories are set in, I find fascinating. Emma gets to be a strong female character and show off her amazing detective skills and logical thinking. The author has been doing a great job keeping her readers engaged. I look forward to starting the next book as soon as I find some time.
Once again, I couldn’t stop reading this book. It was incredible once again and I enjoyed every aspect of this book once again. The adventures continue once again, and it amazed me and kept me on my seat once again. This author wrote this book with so much supernatural, Vikings, folk lore, historical events, traditions that it was hard to remember that this is a story and not real life. The way each character has its own like spin and different adventures I just couldn’t get enough. I was constantly rooting for whatever character I had been reading about. And even thou I know I would read more of each one I couldn’t wait to read what would happen next. We follow Finns boating adventure, Karas adventure from being sold into marriage, and cubs adventure of escaping slavery, I was hooked from the beginning of this story. This book is not one to pass on by, it’s a so must read. Just start from book 1 you won’t be disappointed, especially if Vikings, history and supernatural are all something that is enjoyable to read.

Notebook Mysteries- Unexpected Outcomes is the fourth book in the Notebook Mysteries series by Kimberly Mullins. We jump into the action right from the outset with Emma and Jeremy thrust into a rather big challenge. There is another crime to solve, bringing mystery, intrigue, complexity, and some adventure. Even though this could be read as a standalone without feeling like you are missing anything major, I highly recommend reading the previous book/s before starting on this one, as I feel that knowing what happened in the previous instalments will give you a far greater appreciation of the characters, motivations, and series foundations- and will enhance your reading experience of this book. The story is set in Chicago in 1887 where we are whisked off on an intriguing crime and investigation story with a train wreck, bank robbers, murder, sabotage, a multi-layered storyline, suspense, drama, danger, adventure, historical details, tough decisions, family dynamics, fight scenes, tension, and mystery. Looking forward to the next book in the series, ‘Haunted Christmas’… Happy Reading!
Love this book, it has everything that I need. From suspense to knowing who will be the Omega and who will capture the princess’s heart. But we know that there has to be a battle and brutal methods for these shifters to win a bloody battle. I love these characters, Kieran and Quinn. When is to rule the V-clan and the other wants to run away from it all.

This is my first read of this series. Each of the books can be read as stand alones and you don’t get lost or think you can’t keep up with the characters. Anne and Phillip will have you cheering their relationship on in not time flat. The author does use a lot of Scottish language terms that may have you trying to figure out what’s being talked of, but have no fear, she has gifted us with an extremely helpful glossary.

Once again, this author did an incredible story. The adventures from the previous book continued on into this book. This story also follows along on how Finn finds himself and becomes into this man he will be. The quests and things that he had to do really were challenging and it was hard to not encourage and cheer on Finn. Once again, an action-packed adventure, betrayal, struggles, emotions, and a little romance thrown in kept me reading this book till there was nothing left to read. the historical fiction and supernatural and Norse twists all into one was just amazing again. can not wait to read the next one.

My Darling Rogue is a historical romance and the first book in what promises to be a very entertaining series. This is my first book by this author so I didn’t know what to expect but I was definitely surprised. This deliciously delectable book had me hooked.
My God what a rogue – The mysterious Gabriel is an alpha male. He is a little dark, passionate and possessive, somewhat dangerous and knows what he likes. Cecelia is a bit of a flirt, beautiful and seductive in her own way. Together they are hot, hot, hot. Sexy, steamy and oh so sensual……
I enjoyed the push pull of their relationship and navigating things from their secrets and past.

Emma and her partner Jeremy are back doing their thing as super sleuths in Notebook Mysteries ~ Unexpected Outcomes. This is the fourth book in Kimberly’s YA historical adventure. Make sure you read the books in order as they follow on from each other and if you don’t you will miss out on the back stories of the characters.
Set in the 1880’s in Chicago the pair find themselves embroiled in another suspense mystery, this time with bank robbers and a train crash.
Notebook Mysteries is a for those who are a bit of a sleuth buff like Nancy Drew and those who love a good mystery.
I was instantly mesmerized with this story and how detailed it was. The adventures in it kept me reading more and having a hard time putting it down. I personally love any story that contents anything with Vikings and historical events together. It really makes for a great story when you’re reading from someone else’s thoughts and ideas of what the events could have happened. I Love the Norse mythological elements in the book. The supernatural aspect of the story really put a twist into this story but was so memorizing. I really enjoyed this book and extremely enjoyed it. And really can not wait to read the next one.

This fourth book in the Notebook Mysteries, Emma and Jeremy are in a train wreck just outside of Statesville and find out there is a mystery to solve. Throughout the book, they end up working on several mysteries both together and apart. The story is a fast-paced rollercoaster as Emma finds herself in one situation to the next. If you haven’t read the previous books, this one reads fine as a standalone. I found this cozy mystery a fun reading appropriate for a young adult audience. There is plenty of knife fights, gun battles, dangerous actions, tender reconciliations, lost love found and restored, and threatening thugs! There is also a fabulous recipe for Heidesand, German marzipan butter cookies included at the end of the book! Like the previous books in the series, this story is a quick, fast-paced read with Pinkerton’s thrown in the mix. Reviewed by @bilberrysweet Brandy Vaughn, August 2022 View all my reviews

I am OBSESSED with the Titans. I originally started by reading the second book in this series. It was recommended to me by my super picky sister. I was hooked the moment I picked it up and each one since has been the same. These are standalones but I guarantee you will want to read them all. Kristopher is trying to rebuild his life after a divorce that was an absolute blessing, and Alessia is trying to build a life outside of her work. When their vacation romance follows them home and they realize Kristopher is Alessia’s new boss, things cant help but get complicated.

This was a really good read! This was a great addition to the series and it starts off with a major bang! Because of that this book felt so fast paced, adventurous and energetic. It kept my attention and didn’t want to let me go. I liked this one a lot, it may even be my favorite! This was great story with a great series. I highly recommend it and I can’t wait for the next one!
This was a really good read! The storyline was enthralling and interesting and the characters were loveable, ones you can connect to. This series (and this book) can be read a standalone but it does help to read the previous books, because of certain character introductions. By one complaint (that seems to prevalent to all the books) is that the time goes back and forth in each story. I feel like it gets a bit confusing at times but other than that that’s my only complaint. This was a very gripping, cozy YA mystery story!
I could not get enough of this royal romance. Romantic, sweet, and steamy all in one! The character were amazing and easy to love with bouts of humor that left an impression. Philip wants the paparazzo to take some time away from him, and believes staging a fake relationship may be the key. With luck on his side the press gets pictures of him and his best friends sister Anna, and they spin the story from there. Anna is truly sweet and lovable, and its impossible to not love her. She has always had a crush on Philip and this newfound relationship allows her to see the lighter and more comfortable side of Phillip. While the chemistry is 100% there they still must face scandals, rumors, and the truth about their love.

Unexpected Outcomes is the fourth book in the Notebook Mysteries series, set in the late 19th Century. In this book, investigators Emma and Jeremy work on cases involving valuable artefacts, missing spouses and dangerous workplaces.
I particularly like the interesting bits of history that are included. I learnt a lot, and it added to the detail of the story.
There are some great supporting characters in this series, and it’s great to see them develop as the story goes along. Jake is a particular favourite of mine, and it was good to see him and his camera making a return!
Another thing I enjoyed in this story was getting more of Cole and Ellis’ backstory. That was really interesting, and added depth as I wondered how it was all going to resolve.
This is another five star read for me! I’d recommend reading the series in order – Unexpected Outcomes throws you right into the action and it’s good to already be familiar with the characters and their world. I’d recommend this to all fans of historical mysteries!
What a whirlwind of a story! Emma and the team definitely know how to keep you on our toes from one mystery to the next. Chicago is brewing with population, unemployment, and violence issues around this time and you can see them vividly in this novel. In this environment, it’s unlikely the Company and Pinkerton’s stay still for long! I felt like I saw more action here than in the previous novel, but I did enjoy watching Emma grow and mature in this part of her journey. Especially with her friendship with Thomas and Jeremy, her family, and her business! Emma is still someone I would love to be friends with or have in my corner no matter what. Though there were a few scenes I felt didn’t need to be included as they slowed the story down. I would definitely recommend it to young adult readers. There is a hint of romance but nothing detailed as we have seen in other books. It is tastefully done and doesn’t cross that line detail for young readers.

I’ve entirely enjoyed the Notebook Mysteries series and it just made me happy to pick up a book and go sleuthing with Emma and her gang! Book 4 is definitely my favorite out of the series! The maturity of Emma’s character and her sleuthing skills comes full circle in my view! Previously she always had to have a hand in what was going on, but as she grows older she learns to take a step back! (I feel this is very realistic and relatable!)Her hard work is definitely paying off with that she is getting noticed and making headway for women that aren’t domestic! GO EMMA! The relationships within this book, both platonic and romantic are the type we should strive for: supportive, communicative, and trusting. This took the character’s time, but I loved their journey here! I truly enjoyed the plot twists and turns she places throughout her novel but sometimes I find myself asking why did this go here? (This is most likely a reader/distracted with a toddler issue) The writing is amazing throughout, and the world just envelopes you from beginning to end! The author exposes the YA Reader to the history of the late 19th century with a twist of modernism and creates a story that is intriguing and enjoyable in some of the roughest times of the period.
The start of the novel is the best beginning to date for me! You are hurled into action, and intrigue, and just like Emma trying to take stock of what on Earth is going on!! The late 1880s are seeing Emma just grow into her skill set and the reader just can’t put this book down when she is on the case! I had to reread the last couple of pages of the previous book, but it had no connection. The way the author writes you definitely feel Emma’s emotions during this novel (as well as in previous) from frustrating to surprising situations her cases turn to the new figure that has brought drama into their lives! From trains to knife fights against the odds to kidnapping to thievery cases we see how the gang maneuvers to ensure the success of the case. I found absolute delight in the back story of Ellis and Cole, with Ellis being involved in possible intrigue! I don’t know why but it was one of my favorite bits of the novel! The whole group dynamic is tested in this novel, and you can just feel the intensity of staking claims and testing boundaries through all the characters!
Highspeed Trains, Knife fights, cases that bring drama for everyone, family drama what can make for a better novel?! NOTHING! Please read this series and enjoy!

I just finished this book and immediately had to post a review. This book is not for kids or the faint at heart. There are some intense scenes in here. With that being said I loved it from the first word. The chemistry between Kieran and Quinn is noticeable from the moment they meet. You can tell they are going to excite each and compliment one another and that they do. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they worked together once they got over their respective pride and fears. What I did not perceive was the truth behind Quinn’s motives for everything she did. Now back to the intense scenes. It took me a little bit to fully understand some of the terms used. But once I did everything fell into place. It was easy to visualize what was happening. The scenes were intimate, at times a bit crass, but enjoyable. Defining a good read. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
