The beginning of the story brings the reader into what Buck Greene was dealing with prior to him moving onto a new life. The war does explain a lot of what the other characters that were in the war went through also. The author does a great job in describing how things were in that era, i.e., traveling on horseback, the building of the railroad track, and even how far Greene and his partner, Edward, had to travel just to question the men about the murder case. Overall, the story is very well done.

Beefy is a bully, but why? I read this book with my 7yo son. This story of how Beefy the bully becomes a friend has a lot of lessons in it. It explains why some kids may be bullies, and how we can help them become more friendly versions of themselves. There is a surprising twist that we did not see coming, but was very entertaining. My son and I loved it.
If you are looking for a book to transport you into a different world with wonderful adventures – THIS IS IT! All three books are long wonderful stories linked together to weave you into an epic world of adventure. They were exciting and transported me to another time and place. I can’t give too much away. Ian is a wonderful, compelling dark character who goes through so much and I was right there with him. Each book in this series captured my attention from the very beginning. They can stand alone but why would you want to stop, as the story continues. As you read through them, the story gets darker and darker. Each book links you into the next one. This author works with the imagination of the reader in creating this marvelous story. I am recommending this series to my adult family members & friends.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by her. This is the sixth book in the series which just keeps getting better and better with each book. This can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading the previous books as well. This is a well written story about Kat and how she witnessed a murder, not only that but she has to be placed in an emergency housing. What happens next is something you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story. An engaging story that has a twist of suspense to it. I found this book easy and entertaining to read. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to seeing the next book. I highly recommend this book.
This is an author that I enjoy reading. I enjoy her writing style and her creative characters that bring the story to life. This is one of my favorite books by this author. This is a well written story that is a fantasy with some romance and will show you how far these characters are willing to go for love. I enjoyed how the author pulled me into the story from the start with their engaging details. The characters are connectable and truly add so much to the story. This is an easy story to read about Petra and her determination to find out why her brother was killed. She just may find more than she expected along her journey. I really enjoyed her. This is a hard to put down story that you don’t want to miss. I really enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this book.

Donut the dog is sad because her best friend had to love away and now she has nobody to play with. She sees a squirrel and decides she wants to be friends but she keeps scaring the squirrel away. Donut learns how to be calm and quiet and finally become friends with the squirrel. A great kid story that teaches a lesson about thinking of the other persons feelings.

This is a quick read. The premise of the book is simple: When you are kind and helpful you’ll win in the long-run. I think the world needs more of a ‘kindness is a winning attitude’ mentality so I loved the book. It is an easy thing to explain to kids in this way as well. Helping other people with chores or with things they struggle with (for many different reason) is an important part of life. It makes YOU feel good to help others…and isn’t that what we all want?

She had met him as he led their group to see the whooping cranes. Despite going on the tour multiple times for years, Tasha is excited to see Daisy, a crane she had seen there for years.

Tasha and the Biologist is a romance story that unites two people who are recovering from their painful pasts. The tension as each one tells their past secrets is palpable. The unpredictable plot adds even more suspense when Tasha and Caleb are separated for several weeks. Will a brand new loving spark flicker out? I found the story fascinating, and the wildlife information was provided in an easy to understand way. This is a 5-star story with excellent character development.Barnaby, a wiggly French bulldog, was even involved in the story, which provided a light despite the dramatic nature of the human revelations.

Petra was on a mission to discover how her brother, Aldeny, had died in the Cloistered City. She knew her brother had become a courier and refused to believe the letter that he had killed himself. She was assigned to the Washing House, where she did the laundry for the city. She became friends with Winfred, who was the target of a hateful trio of girls. When one of the girls had stolen Winfred’s lotion, Petra tried to stand up for her. Winfred was whipped unconscious and became extremely sick. Petra stayed by her side until she could work again. One evening, Petra’s life changed. She encountered a courier who had spent the night with a man. The courier gave Petra the message, which was extremely late, and her courier cloak before leaving the city.
Petra became an official courier that night. On her way to deliver the message, she crossed paths with a group of Shilvary guards. Captain Larkin grabbed her arm and shook Petra, intending to punish her for not bowing in respect. Captain Rand Tsenturian instructed his fellow guard to release her, as she was clearly a new courier.
Emperor Cyprian’s engagement to Lady Theophania enraged Lady Sunniva. She had intentionally come to Vale to marry Cyprian and form an alliance with Bessaraiah. Lady Sunniva sent a notice to her home country, which placed Captain Tsenturian in place to lead the troops to defend the country. Petra had become Rand’s personal courier and learned that he was the Shivalry guard that buried her brother. Rand led Petra to the garden that held the Antediluvian stone. Rand confirmed that Aldeny did commit suicide and was buried in the garden. Petra refused to believe him. She placed her hand on the Antediluvian stone and demanded that he swear he spoke the truth, or she would take him as her sacrifice. Upon her declaration, Petra bound Rand to her. They both bore undeniable marks of the Ensign of Sacrifice and his Sacred.
Rand refused to live with Petra without being married, something that Shilvary normally did not do. She had made him break his vow of celibacy; therefore, going to war with his men was in jeopardy. Rand took her before the Emperor and Cyprian performed the ceremony. Petra’s action required her to join Rand and his troops in the fight against Bessariah’s soldiers.
A slow-burn romance builds from the tragic loss of a brother forced to work before his time. Petra’s view is relatable, and I could feel how she wished to find retribution for the loss of her brother. His letters had kept her and her mother alive with hope. The plot of the story is unpredictable, and the power of the Ensign adds suspense to a burning point. Rand was unable to pick between his loyalties, and I wondered how long he would continue to lead Petra on without committing even after they were married. The addition of Lindy created another element that forced reality to reach Rand and Petra. There were some questions left unanswered; therefore, I am rating Sanctuary four stars.

An opposites attract small town romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Health inspector Hailey attempts to save a lost dog during a blizzard, but causes a pickup truck to crash. Struggling tavern owner Noah did not expect to be rescuing the woman who caused him to wreck his truck. Hailey can’t believe Noah protected her from the storm and with her stranded in town she offers to wait tables for him. Noah is struggling to keep his tavern afloat whilst trying to impress his judgemental father and deal with a cheating ex-girlfriend and an obsessed hookup. Hailey can see herself having a life in the small town of Fall River, along with Noah. However, outside obstacles try to prevent their developing relationship. Noah and Hailey’s chemistry came across in the narrative, and I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story. Both the characters and the setting came to life making me feel immersed in the storyline. This lighthearted and heartwarming romance, with just enough steam had me hooked from page one.

This is an interesting story from the get-go! It’s a story about a teen, her brother and dog, and a social worker. The teen witnesses a crime while living out on the street (while the brother was deployed when he became her legal guardian without notice). The social worker has to take on the teen to help and the story tells the story of how all three of them (and the dog) have to work together for their common goal(s). Such an emotional story with so many twists and turns and I didn’t see any of them coming but that kept this story so interesting! I really loved all three of the main characters and enjoyed reading this so much!

However, Erebus69 doesn’t know that Brynn is the half-sister to Blair.
Brynn’s work environment has become uncomfortable because of Randall’s attempts to get her to go on a date with him. He is her boss, and she has always refused his invitations. After Brynn’s condo is broken into, the only item missing was a pair of panties that Erebus69 had sent her. When Adrian learns about the incident, he asks for her number and hires Barry to watch her. Adrian doesn’t have feelings of love for anyone, but he feels a strong attraction towards Brynn.
For a story full of suspense and a slow-burn romance, Shadows in the Dark is an exceptional book. A dark past mixed with the painful memories of a lost loved one plagues both sides of this story. Brynn never knew her sister’s affinity for being a masochist. Adrain’s guilty conscience for his twin sister’s death. The isolation of both characters puts them at risk of harm. If Adrian is possibly killing people in his sleep, Brynn is a prime victim. Their shared time on Olympus and trysts on Lotus bring the steam factor in a tasteful way. The emotions that the sexual acts are displayed, the primal desire for dominance driving both to trust the other. The intricate details lead the plot into unforeseen circumstances for both characters. The story sets a solid foundation for the trilogy, and the intense end left me anxious to read the sequel. This is definitely a 5-star book I recommend for mature adults who like to delve into the BDSM world, featuring two lost people meeting physically. Will they also connect on an emotional level?

Another enjoyable and engaging romance set in the small town of Fall River, this time with an enemies to lovers storyline. When Joy left the small dusty mining town for a city career she didn’t plan on returning. However, when she inherits her estranged mother’s dilapidated and crumbling building she returns with plans of demolishing it. For hometown boy and passionate preservationist Charlie he sees great potential in the historic building Joy now owns. Whilst Joy and Charlie clash over the fate of the building a battle of wills leads to a growing attraction. The chemistry between the likeable Joy and relatable Charlie really came across in the narrative. I loved how their relationship developed throughout the story and it kept me happily turning the pages. Once again the setting and small town feel was brought to life.

You will be drawn into the dark side of BDSM and club Lotus where there is plenty of sizzle, heat, pain, suffering and so much more. The story is mysterious, captivating and heartfelt and a quick and easy read. The deliciously hot and oh so sexy scenes jump off the pages. I was in need of a tall icy drink. Adrian might be a CEO by day but underneath that suit he is a Dom(inant) man. A man that is haunted by demons. Demons that lurk in the shadows. This brightly and colourfully illustrated tale takes us to a world of virtual realities and mayhem-causing goblins. Beefy learns a lot of valuable lessons, but courage, kindness, friendships, and teamwork are key in this tale. It also teaches us to be aware of the dangers that can come about when you don’t know what your kids are doing, especially in this digital era we are in.
Beefy Goes From Bully To Buddy is another educational tale in the Courage Tales series and a good way to show the old adage of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover.’ One never knows why a child does what they do unless you delve deeper.
This compelling tale helps tackle dealing with emotions, like feeling alone, angry, frustrated, being scared, and more. This is a valuable tale with bonus information available as well.

Such a heartwarming dedication. Michael, Max and Martin are trying to figure out what they are good at for a homework assignment. “Being kind isn’t just about the big stuff. It’s about helping in the small ways too.” Such a great quote in those book. Teaching and discussing kindness at the end for kids also. The illustrations and storyline is great. Definitely a good book to help little ones understand what it means to be kind.

Our whole house was excited to get our hands on a new book by this author and this was certainly did not let us down. We all loved the character of Gadrella. She was such a fun character to read about and watching her explore new ways of doing things was an absolute pleasure. Although this book was entertaining and joyful, it also encouraged kids to look at what makes them different and to celebrate these differences. It is such a positive message and one that I think most kids in this day and age needs to hear. This was a bit hit in our household and is one that will be read time and again.
Westerns are not usually my go to type book and I honestly can’t recall the last one that I read. However, I am so pleased that I gave this book a chance as it was such an interesting story. It was an exciting read from start to finish and I really found myself caught up in what was going on. I enjoyed the way the whole book unfolded. I wanted to know the truth behind the murders and wanted to see if our MC would figure it all out. The story felt like it was in keeping with the time, realistic to the era it was set in. This is still one of the first few books that I have read from this author but it has definitely reinforced the view that I will be reading more.

This is another great story by an author who never disappoints. This is one of those stories that has a real slow build to it and draws you in bit by bit. I thought the storyline was a really interesting one. I was pulled into this world and wanted to find out more. The characters each added such different dynamics to the book. It was easy to become invested in them as they were engaging and exciting to read about. I thoroughly enjoyed this book I am looking forward to my next read by this author.

What an original and refreshing story this is. I knew from the moment I read the description that I would enjoy this book, but it completely blew all expectations out of the water! For a start, I loved the fact that the main character was older. Most books that I read like this are of the YA category, with a character to match. So having the main character be older was such a nice change. I definitely connected with this character more than others and I really became invested in her story. I loved the overall story the author created. It was exciting, fun to read and one that I couldn’t seem to get enough of. Once I had started reading, I found it really hard to put down. This is a brilliant story and I am really looking forward to the next in the series.
This book is a great story about unlikely friendships and how they can develop once you learn how to communicate. It was so lovely to watch Donut and Peanut develop their social skills as the story went on. The whole book has such a sweet feel about it and is great for teaching kids about the importance of learning about other people and seeing past their differences. It was also then a bonus for me that my kids loved this book. They thought it was so entertaining and loved the idea of a dog and squirrel becoming friends. We get a lot of squirrels in our back garden and they have spend the last few days watching them to see if they make friends with any of the dogs who live nearby. This is a fun and educational story and is one I would highly recommend.

This is another unique and thought provoking read by this author. It is captivating with characters that draw you in and that have fantastic tales to tell. What I really love about this authors work is that there is no fear of mixing reality and fantasy. Making the everyday and mundane seems magical and filled with possibilities. And this story is no different. Molly is middle aged woman who decides to go on a holiday by herself. She feels she needs to go on a journey to discover herself but she doesn’t know why? So she now finds herself in Holey land. She can’t explain why, did she choose the place or did something about the place call to her? We also meet Al, Nate and Anna. These are 3 guides that watch over Holey land and everyone who resides and visits there. They have been part of Holey Island even since it came into existence although their names have changed over the years. Nate helps people to live, Anna helps people die and Al well he is a law unto himself and does whatever he likes. Just don’t annoy him. Through the story Molly meets all these characters as they help her on her journey to discover what it is she is really looking for. This story is a really captivating read. This author never fails to create stories that are thought provoking and magical. I always feel transported when I read stories by this author.

Wow, I sure enjoyed this story. The suspense and dark romance were an absolute treat for this old woman. I enjoyed the flow of the story. The characters were great. I was sucked into this story right from the beginning. I loved that it ended on a cliffhanger. That means there is more to come…. I can’t wait.

This book is the 3rd in the Young Sleuths Chapter Book series, but can be read as a stand-alone if you choose to. Dylan is a little boy who has a detective kit, a trusty dog and a younger sister as a side-kick to help him solve all kinds of mysteries. In this particular story, Dylan and his younger sister, Emily, are camping with their family when the Camp Leaf golden trophy comes up missing. Dylan and Emily and their dog, Theodore, set off to try to find it, with other friends along the way. This book is great for young children just learning to read on their own, or for parents or teachers to read to the youngsters in their lives. The story is cute, and the illustrations are fun to look at. Join Dylan, Emily, Theodore and their friends on an adventure to solve who stole the Camp Leaf golden trophy, but remember, be careful who you trust!

Shadows in the Dark is Book 1 of the Dark Lotus Trilogy…and wow if you love dark romance with sizzling BDSM like I do….I very highly recommend this story. Leaving it all on the table, this story of Adrian and Brynn, then tension, control, secrets, pleasure and pain….I love the connection that I have to the characters…and already cannot wait until the next book in the series to see what happens next.
The lingering darkness that shadows over Adrian and the demons he keeps within himself..he is methodical in every aspect of his life, from work to play and keeps everyone at a distance. Brynn is trying to figure out what happened to her sister, as she is notified of her murder, grieving, and trying to find the truth. As Brynn opens up detailed secrets that her sister had, she opens up a new world that she is now becoming part of…..and it starts with Adrian. As Adrian’s dominate side comes out more and is drawn to Brynn…..he is becomes more protective of her. Will Brynn find out any truths while trying to navigate this new submissive world with Adrian….
I highly recommend this read….totally dark and delicious indeed!!

This has been one of the more exciting detective series I’ve read so far. This story has a great story set up. It has a really smooth flow. There is an affair w3ith some deadly consequences. I love watching Jorja try to figure this out. She’s like a bulldog with a bone. She doesn’t give up. There are many secrets to discover I really enjoyed the characters It’s a good book.

This was a complete series of three books, so it was over 1600 pages. I previously read Troy, which was an extension of this series. It also follows Troy, but after the War. People know who he is and dont really like him very much. It is a descriptive read with great world building and character development
