“Night Sweats and Hockey Nets” is the third book in the Hot Flash Hookups series. I love a good rom-com with a single dad trope as well as a forbidden romance. This was a fun, fast paced book and I couldn’t put it down! I’m giving it 5 out of 5 stars.

Such a cute book about forming friendships. Donut is lonely and wants to make a friend. Donut tries again and again to reach out to Peanut the Squirrel with no success. When Donut finally learns why Peanut runs away, she is able to form a friendship with Peanut. Love this book and plan to buy the physical copy for my grandkids.

Gadrella is the second book my kids and I have read by this author and my favorite thus far. It was a great book to read with Halloween upon us. The illustrations were as adorable as the characters were likable, especially Gadrella. This book really illustrated how it is okay and encouraged to be yourself as well as if something isn’t working… change it!
I absolutely love this story and how we get the perspective of the kids. As parents, we often forget that sometimes kids don’t understand the nuances of culture and can come to conclusions about themselves and it’s our job to make sure that we are teaching our children. I love how Varghese addresses these issues in her story. It’s lighthearted and completely as a child would (I suspect this comes from personal experiences) and the way it’s handled by the mother is phenomenal. She uses it as a learning opportunity to teach her children not only about their culture, but also about their family. I loved this book not only for the story but also the illustrations and the bright colors. Definitely pick this one up today!

This story introduced children to the idea that just because they aren’t celebrating their culture everyday doesn’t mean they aren’t a part of that culture. In this story the little boy asks his mom if he is Indian that day because they are getting dressed in traditional Indian clothing for a wedding. The mom explains where their family is from and how they are always Indian. The illustrations help the author paint a beautiful portrait of this family and the country of their heritage. This is a very short story and doesn’t deep dive into the idea of cultural self. What it does do is open the conversation for families.

5 Stars India is one of my go to authors so clicking to get this book was a forgone conclusion. I love that more authors are embracing slightly older characters. Midnight Deception is a complex and seductive read and packs a punch. I loved this original and unique story. What a page turner it turned out to be not that I was surprised not with India at the helm. It is well written, a little dark, sexy, and a touch of emotional read. India has done such a fantastic job weaving a multi layered tangled web this story that you could literally feel the emotions jumping off the page. With secrets, lies, danger, suspense and tension this story and the characters makes for one captivating journey. It is one of those stories that I didn’t want to be over, as I fell in love with these characters. Sabrina is in danger of her nightly persona coming to light. Unfortunately, it appears that she is now front and centre in a game of cat and mouse. Follow along as she sheds her layers like Superman and becomes the mysterious and sexy Nightshade. This is a must read.

The Holy Land is a cleverly written charming and fun tale full of unique and quirky characters some like spirit guides and guardians both seen and not seen that have been around since the start of time. OMG AL is just hysterical. A place where time seems to stand still and the past and present intwine. There is a mystery, a peace, a sense of belonging and most of all discoveries. Molly isn’t herself and not sure why and taking a holiday by herself and not with hubby is not something she usually does. What she needs can only be found in the Holy Land she just doesn’t know it yet. Did she pick the place, or did it pick her? You only have to look, really look to see what is there and what she discovers is exactly what she needs. Now I know that is all cryptic, but I don’t want to spoil things for you. You will need to read it to find out. Laura is known for her unconventional tales and The Holy Land is just that, but it is so much more, it is an intriguing read and full of mystery and magical realism. It may be a short story, but it is packed full. Journey along with Molly as she discovers some wonders in the world.

Bradbury is known for his historical fiction novels, and “Railway to Murder” is the first book in his new Buck Greene, Railroad Special Agent, Mysteries series. Buck was looking for a fresh start, but he ends up entangled in an unexpected mystery. Now, he must uncover the identity of the murderer before they strike again. The book highlights the challenges of the time, as well as action, drama, intrigue, danger, survival, resilience, strength, and struggles, making for an interesting read. “Railway to Murder” is a well-written, multilayered, and intriguing murder mystery. Even if historical westerns aren’t usually your thing, this book is definitely worth a read.

This book is another interesting and unique story from an author who really isn’t scared of pushing boundaries and writing something different. I really enjoyed this book and watching how it all unfolded. Everything felt interconnected and yet I always felt like the author could have taken it in a new direction at any time. The characters were all brilliant. Each fit with the story in their own way and added so much to what was going on. This is the kind of book I would love to rave about, but equally don’t want to spoil anything at all. I would recommend everyone read this and be prepared to be sucked in.

As always, Loriana Cappello does it again, “Strings Attached” is emotional and heartfelt. The characters are well developed and relatable, making it seem like you are right there in the moment. Music and love makes for a great cozy read.
I didn’t need to see what this book was about when I saw who the author was. I instantly picked it up and did not put it down again until I had finished reading it. I was pulled into the story straight, which is exactly what I have come to expect from this author. I loved the characters in this book. They were both so complex and interesting. They each had so much going on in their lives and yet, their connection was undeniable. I loved watching their relationship develop and could have easily kept reading about them. The story was well written too. I was completely invested in what was going on. This book is a fantastic start to a new series and I am really looking forward to the other books.

Knight On Edge by Alice Bienia is like a campy murder mystery. The story writing blended really well with the murder but also with hearing about Jorja’s life. This book is great for people who love who dun its books, people working in detective agencies, and people who love action-packed books. The book also talks about how the wife suspects her husband of cheating and killing his lover because her gun is missing. The book also focuses on the police doing their job but also how the wife keeps calling to get more clues about the case of the murdered victim. Who do you think the killer is, was it the wife trying to frame the husband for murder or was it the jealous husband thinking that the wife is cheating? Find out in this new murder mystery book. This book is part 7 of the Jorja Knight Mystery Series, and is no less amazing than the other 6. Jorja is a private detective in Canada. Her cases are usually run of the mill investigations into missing people, adultery or similar situations. Her latest case, however, turns into a mess that is most assuredly not what it appears from the outset. Sherrie Langcaster hires Jorja to find out if her husband is cheating, and when she discovers the truth, Jorja assumes she is done with Sherrie’s case. What neither of the women could possibly foresee is just how connected their lives would be from that point, and just how twisted everything around Sherrie and her husband was just about to get, when his mistress turns up dead, and Sherrie’s missing gun is the murder weapon. This mystery is great and will pull you in from beginning to end, but there is plenty of story line to remind you that Jorja is more than just a detective.

This is the first book in the Buck Greene, Railroad Special Agent, Mysteries series. I really enjoyed this murder mystery story and I can’t wait to read more from this series. The author does an amazing job of transporting the reader back in time and fully immersing the reader in the way of life back then. The story is so well woven that I couldn’t guess which turn would be next. It kept me guessing which is what I love. The chapters are short which for me means I read them quickly. I had a constant feeling of reading just one more chapter and then realising I had read 3. The story is so immersive that I couldn’t stop reading once I started.
Buck Greene has just got back from fighting in the Civil war. After fighting for a better life he finds himself returning home to nothing as his parents have been killed during the war. Now he knows he needs a new start so he sets off to find his fortune along the railroads. When he discovers the body of a railroad worker he places himself into the investigation in the hopes of getting a job as a railroad agent. However what he soon realises is that this is not the first murder and it is now a race against time to capture the murderer before they strike again and claim another life.
Will he solve the case before another life is lost? If he does solve the case will this give him the break he needs to become a proper agent?

Woo Hoo Hoo! What a tangled web we weave! I really enjoyed this suspenseful romance. It easily kept my interest between the story and the characters. The story went places I did not expect it to go. The characters are wonderfully driven. The two MC have an idea in mind and will pursue it but not at all costs. They seem to have good chemistry and seemed believable. Secondary characters are somewhat delightful. I really like his roommates and hope they get their own stories. I look forward to more in this series

This book is intended for young children around the ages of 7 to 9 years old, but can probably be read and understood by children of other age ranges as well. This book tells the story of a group of friends who are trying to find what they are best at. As the friends explore and try to figure it out, they discover that for each of them, what they are best at is helping others. The illustrations were well done and colorful, making them engaging for young readers. I would recommend this book for any parent or teacher of young children who is trying to promote kindness and friendliness in the little humans around them. Toward the back of the book, there is even a guide on discussing kindness along with a couple of “games” that can be played with dice to help get the point across even more.

A Tale of Two Crushes by Cori Cooper is a great romance book
Holland Morriss has never really met a guy she could crush on. It makes sense. She lived her whole life in the same town with the same people. It’s just really hard to have a crush on someone you’ve seen eat crayons in kindergarten. Then at the start of her junior year of high school, her family makes a sudden move to a whole different state. Holland’s new life plan is to keep her head down and graduate early so she can hightail it back to Colorado and start college with her best friend Alicia.
Every page had you hanging on every sentence and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique story with even compelling people. The story really transports you into this world. I couldn’t put the book down

This was a cute book. It was a little advanced for my 4 year old. I like how she explained to her boys a little about their heritage. They understood a bit more. I liked that it told us the names of the garments that they wore.

While I am not generally into extraterrestrial stories, I wanted to give this book a try. I’m glad I did. It’s difficult to give much detail without giving things away that were important points in the book and I’d hate to steal the presentation to anyone.
There was a fantastic female lead in Scully that was fun to read. While this is the first book of this universe that I’ve read, it introduced pieces of Sarge’s past and past characters introduced that I’d like to lean more into this great world the author has created. Submarines and covert operations, aliens, suspense, working together, intrigue, suspense and drama – a new author for me, but I really enjoyed how much of themselves and their passion they interjected into this story. Going back to read more of Sarge and his world right now!

Their road to HEA wasn’t easy and they’ve got a lot to deal with and work through but again they’ve got a brilliant support system in friends and family . I enjoyed their tension , steam and banter almost as much as I enjoyed Noah and Hailey but each couple owns my heart in a different way now it’s up to Reece to see if he can take their place 🤩😉 ( I’m excited for his story)

Rover aka Alex Luthor aka Chance is a real sweetheart 🥰🦮🐾 and could melt any ice capped heart especially with his history but fear not he’s landed with his furry butt in the gutter and is adored by all 🥰
I loved every page of this read and the people of Rivet Fall just climb into your heart and it’s a place where friends become family ❣️

This book was so much fun to read. The characters are well developed and has you wanting to learn more about them. I really enjoyed the fact that there is a strong female lead character and other strong female supporting characters given the time period this book is set in. Every character is under suspicion and I couldn’t wait to find out who the true killer was. Ms. Butler has you guessing till the end in this historic who done it.

Holland is new to school and is running late on her first day. Luckily she runs into Asher who is able to help her find the office and then he gives her a tour of the school. Chandler comes to her aid when she has issues with her locker. Finding out that Asher and Chandler are fraternal twins further complicates things. Both boys are handsome and kind and helpful and Holland finds herself wanting to be with them both. This book will make you feel like you are BFFs with the main characters are that you are right there in the story. Pull up a comfy chair and relax as you will not want to put this down.
