As far as mysteries go, this one was a cracker. The story was set out brilliantly right from the very beginning. The plot well thought out and executed. It was evident that a lot of work went into each character and events were very descriptive. There was no wafting off through the story, and it is hard to believe that this is the authors debut novel. A combination of intrigue, danger, murder and a crafty lawyer ready to fight the good fight. Disaster, betrayal and a deep sense of honour and justice provide a story that was impossible to put down. A stunning first story that is 100% recommended. 5 stars.

I haven’t read a crime book in quite some time but I am glad I started back up with States of Grace! I loves Graces character and the growth you see in her from beginning to end. I engulfed this book and didn’t want to put it down. I thought I knew how it would end, but I was definitely wrong! I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who likes the crime genre.

This book was a very unexpected surprise. Its my first read by this author as well as my first real dive into historical fiction of this type. I enjoyed every moment of it. There was action, romance, wonderful historical detail, and amazing vivid imagery provided. This book truly takes you back in time with the story, and gives you the account through Jacek’s eyes being young and in the military with optimism and excitement of what’s to come. This book was a great read, and It took me outside of my box.

This is the 5th book in the Interstellar Rescue Series and it was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. Trevyn is part of the interstellar rescue operation and is sent to intercept a ship carrying weapons when he meets Lael. Lael is determined to free her people from slavery when she is caught. Is she really the enemy? There is something off about the situation and Trevyn is determined to find out what is going on. Will Trevyn get the answers he is looking for?
Overall I really enjoyed the storyline and all of the characters new and old. We got multiple POV and I really liked that, I feel like it adds more to the story when you can see what the characters are thinking. We get action, danger, adventure, romance and so much more. I was on the edge of my seat several times and we got some unexpected twists that added a great element to the story. The author does such a great job with her writing detail you feel like you’re right there with the characters. If you’re looking for a great sci-fi read. 1-click and get started today on this series. This a paranormal mystery and is the second installment in this series. If you haven’t read the first I would highly recommend reading it. Dahlia Nite is a consulting detective investing a string of mysterious deaths in Sentinel City. During her investigation she is coming up with more questions then answers. Can her and her partner Alex solve these crimes before things get any further out of hand? A fast paced, action packed novel that will leave you gasping for more and on the edge of your seat! This series is a must read for paranormal or mystery readers.
King of Pain is the 5th book in the Intersteller Rescue Series and it is the first book I have read by this author. It was an awesome sci-fi story that had a little bit of everything. Action, Enemies to lovers, rivalry & so much more. I enjoyed all of the main characters and I would recommend this to a friend! I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future! Wow! I have read many historical fiction novels, but the amount of research and knowledge that went into the writing was amazing. It was a period in which I had not read so I learned a lot. With great characters and an intriguing storyline this book took me for a ride I didn’t expect. It is one of the best historical fiction books I’ve ever read. I am looking forward to the next book!

Yet another hit from this author! I’ve really enjoyed this series and this book didn’t disappoint! I think Stefano and Emiliana may be my favorite couple yet. I also didn’t expect the story to unfold as it did. Wait until you find out who the rat is!! The story was well written and the characters relatable and likeable. I didn’t find a single part that didn’t hold my attention and keep me engaged. I rate this 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed the series thus far. Looking forward to hearing more from this author!

To say that I branch out far from my preferred book genres on a regular basis would be a lie. I do enjoy sitting down with an easy to read, melt my heart, HEA sort of romance, or a crazy, whirlwind dystopian novel, because I am a creature of habit. I am so very glad I took a leap into 17th century and met our main hero Jacek, who has just received news that he will be one step closer to his lifelong goal. Shortly after receiving said news, he comes across a devastating scene that completely brings his caring and protective side to light. Here, he saves our lovely Oliwia and her little brother, Filip, who have just lost their parents to Lisowski’s “lost men,” who are known as brigands to the Winged Warriors.
This is where our story really begins. From here, the reader becomes drawn into what could very well become the next best show, as that’s what it ended up being for me, a novel that drew me in and let me take my mind off of the personal turmoil that has been plaguing me as of late. The writing style, the way the characters have a slow burn sort of development individually and together, and the world building that is all encompassing, is just brilliant. As mentioned in other reviews, I certainly wouldn’t say that it is an easy read, nor would I recommend it to someone that is looking to read a novel in one sitting, as this novel deserves all the attention and time you can spare. I will certainly be reading the next installment and cannot wait to see what happens!

I absolutely love mysteries and this one just kept me hooked from the start. Grace is our main character and we slowly get her story throughout the book as needed. This picks up with a bang, pun intended, and really doesnt let up from there. I am usually pretty good and figuring out “the bad guy” but was proven wrong here. I will for sure be reading more from this author if this is anything to go by for the future.

I could not put this book down! States of Grace follows a down on her luck (seriously down down down) gal named Grace. The mystery, the action, everything was such a win for me. I think I was having a brain issue reading so had to back track to make sure I was following the story right but that was more a user error than the book itself. Great read! This was a really good story, but I didn’t feel like it was executed well. It seemed very spotty and choppy to me. I had a hard time getting lost in the story because the timeline wasn’t established well and it seemed to keep skipping from one spot to another. Just very choppy. I enjoyed the characters and really enjoyed the book before this one but for whatever reason this one just didn’t flow well for me. Maybe it was an off reading day but I just couldn’t get into this one. Overall the story was great it just didn’t enthrall me.

Do you know when you have a really good book? I know when an author really engages my emotions. This book had me laughing a little and crying a lot. It was beautifully written. The characters were bold and detailed. The subject matter on bullying was described well by the author, but really made me emotional with my thoughts. This book had all the feels and then some. That is why this author is one of my favorites with her angsty reads.

I am so glad I picked this book up to read as I do not read to much Historical Romance and this was a very pleasant surprise. The book is beautifully written and the author really brings this book to life with the intricate details. I loved Jacek’s character as he is young, strong, loyal and driven. Newly appointed as lieutenant and while trying to find supplies, Jacek rescues Oliwia and her brother. From this action, Jacek takes them with him back to Poland and the story takes off from here. I loved Jacek and Oliwia’s characters in this book. A true emotional journey read for me and looking forward to book 2!

I thought this book was written very well and Frelick did an excellent job of making the unbelievable seem believable. I was very engaged throughout the story, the characters were fantastic and the plot hummed along at a great pace. Ida Micken is a hilarious character that became crucial to the plot, and I was totally here for it. A great sci-fi, even for those who may not typically read the genre – there is more than enough to keep you hooked!

Another excellent book by Donna Frelick! I was a little trepidatious because the book sounded bloody and harsh, I wasn’t sure it would be quite my cup of tea, but I know the authour is great, so I gave it a go. Very happy I did! The story is phenomenal, very action-packed with lots going on. The two races on the planet, the Thrane (ruling class) and the Hinarr (poor and maligned) have been at odds for centuries. The Hinarr are treated abysmally, with few rights and are little better than slaves. A lot of the interactions echoed the racism that occurs in our world today, and so it was very relevant despite being set in a fictional world. The clash between these sects ultimately becomes one of the main themes in this book. This book has romance, adventure, space travel, fantasy and shape-shifting snow cats! What’s not to love? Read this book.

States of Grace is an amazing book by Mandy Miller! The characters are realistic and the story is believable, creating a combination that was hard to put down. Grace Locke’s fall from grace, pun intended, gives her a bit of an edgier, raw side that was very entertaining. And the mystery and crime behind the characters evolved so smoothly that the twists and turns were still easily navigated. The ending definitely left me wanting more of Grace. States of Grace was the first in a (hopefully) long series that I can’t wait to read more of!

Rebecca Steele Living the Dream (Rebecca Steele series Book 3) by Joanne Patterson. This book is a great ending to the Rebecca Steele Series. Its the continuing story of Becky who is living her dream out by doing concerts once a month and still doing the rodeo as well. She is so busy and loving every minute of it along with being a mom and new wife things seem perfect but of course things aren’t always as they seem. Going thru obstacles in her new life and even tragedies just seem to bring out the best in Becky. She has family, her husband and her friends to always be there for her and Becky herself has grown so much just in the past two books. This book is emotional but in a good way because you get to see so many positive changes in Becky. I do recommend reading the first two books first to get a real feel for Becky and her life. This is probably my favorite book in the series. I honestly hate to see it end.

This is such a heartfelt rendition of what unwed mothers faced in the 1960s, and even before and after that time. The story follows three women from completely different backgrounds; Faith is a minister’s daughter, Becca comes from a wealthy white family, and Sandra comes from a farm family but ends up homeless and alone. Though each girl has their own unique story, they all find themselves pregnant and sent to a home for unwed mothers in New Orleans where they become roommates. The girls learn to lean on one another and after their babies are born, they each return to their own lives. Twenty five years later, someone who threatens to expose their pasts brings them back together.
This story is unique because you get the perspective of all three women. You get three stories that are so similar but so different at the same time. The characters are well developed and you just fall in love with them right away, wanting to take their pain away and support them. It is so emotional knowing that this is based on real experiences of real women who didn’t have the freedoms we have today. They suffered and had to fight impossible situations where they weren’t given options like we are. It really makes me feel lucky to have the rights I do today.

I have enjoyed reading this novel. Stepped outside of my usual genre and I’m super glad I did. I loved reading each chapter and enjoyed each character whether good or bad they kept the story interesting and entertaining. The research put into writing this novel is extraordinary. The entanglement of history, battle, romance and survival makes this novel and must read and a share with friends and family.

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige. This book was amazing and it made me laugh, cry and turn the pages as fast as I could. Its my favorite so far from the series although they are all good. This one is the story of Jared Shaw who is in the very popular band “Thrill of the Chase” but Jared’s dad is very ill with dementia. He pays a facility a very large sum for him to have around the clock care. Deciding to go and check on his dad he meets his nurse Madison Cole who is very good at her job. One thing Madison gets very angry about is patients with family members who don’t visit like they should. Christopher (Jared’s Dad) is one of those patients and Madison emails with Jared daily so she decides to email him about not visiting. When Jared meets Madison he doesn’t realize she is who sent him the scathing email. Jared thinks Madison is beautiful and their chemistry is instant. Will Madison lose her job due to the scathing email she sent to a very important client’s family member. Will Jared forgive her once he finds out it was from her? Unlikely To Stay is the third book in the Parker Lake series by Olivia Sherwood . This book can be read as a stand alone, but I would highly recommend reading this series in order. The Parker Lake series is one of my top ten series I have read. The characters are believable and down to earth. This book features CC, who is the town beautician who has a confidence problem and Brant, who is a nurse practitioner that moved to Parker Lake to get his student loans paid off. Both are afraid of commitment, but the chemistry between the two is off the charts. Will they be able to overcome their issues, or will they go their separate ways? I had a difficult time getting into the story because I was not used to the style but as you read there is a lot of depth and character building. I enjoy historical fiction and it definitely took you back to the 17th century.

This was gripping and entertaining. The true meaning of mystery. I had no idea what was going to happen, That twist made me cry because just why. It is nice to see a female vigilante turned hero. So many struggles happened to our main character and Grace is a good name. With a fall from Grace she fund her way. It was not easy, we have murder and lies and mystery that have you truly guessing. I put this down a few times but overall it was entertaining and worth reading. This was a refreshing read for me, I will definitely be looking more into mystery.

Definitely found a good book to round out 2021 with! After reading the previous two novels in this series, upon discovering the third one had been released, it was a no-brainer for me to choose this one to be the book that I finished out my reading goal with. The story of Tasha and Levi continues in the third book of the series and the book does not disappoint! The entire series has been a roller coaster of emotions, this one included, and at the end of every chapter I was left wondering what would happen next. The author does an astounding job at keeping the writer on their tiptoes as romance and adventure consume the lives of Tasha and Levi, and as much as I needed answers to the many questions left behind by the second book, I was sad to see their story end. I’m excited to see if the writer continues expanding the universe and gives us the stories of the many other beloved characters in the series.

I was grabbed by the cover of the book. This is a new author for me. The adventure that I went on with this author was very engaging, I enjoyed the time period in the book written in. The author’s attention to detail is what makes this story work. The characters are relatable and real. Jacek has been promoted to lieutenant and he is hoping that he will gain the lands he desires. He finds a woman and her brother and brings them back to his castle. What happens next you will have to read the book to see what happens from here.

States of Grace is the first book in the Grace Locke series. I was blown away by the characters and the story. Grace is a wounded warrior and a prosecutor who is down on her luck. She is battling her own demons while trying to keep her life afloat. She is strong and determined but also has her issues. I love that she is not a perfect person but truly human and realistic. The setting is South Florida and it helps add an extra layer to the story. I really enjoyed the characters and storyline. The plot twists and turns were great. I look forward to reading more in this series and from this author in the future. I want more of Grace Locke.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderfully written historical novel set in Poland during the early 17th-century. This is the first book in, ‘The Winged Warrior Series’ featuring Jacek Dąbrowski, a young Polish lieutenant in the Hussar’s, an elite cavalry unit, who is determined to protect his country. In 1610, in Muscovy, Jacek just wants to be recognised for his valour but instead he has earned the animosity of his Captain. He is also hoping that his recent promotion will help him secure his own lands. However, when Jacek rescues a young woman and her brother from being slaughtered, the consequences are grave. Having determined that Oliwia and her brother have no family and are not Russian enemies he escorts them back to the castle in his homeland. Meanwhile, the rivalry with his Captain grows and becomes more dangerous.
Jacek has always put his duty as a Hussar first, but that was before he met Oliwia, now he just hopes that he can survive the hidden schemes and keep her safe. This was a real page turner, with an enjoyable and exciting storyline, plenty of action, vivid combat scenes, and of course romance. I was hooked from page one and the plot twists kept me guessing until the cliff hanger ending! The descriptive narrative really brought both the era and the setting to life and the historical details made me feel as though I was back in the 17th-century. The author has obviously done her research and knows the era well, I learnt about the Hussars and a part of history I knew little about whilst still feeling fully immersed in the story. The fast paced narrative and engaging storyline kept me happily turning the pages and I look forward to reading the second novel and continuing with Jacek and Oliwia‘s story.
