I LOVED this box set of books!!! What can I say, definitely worth the read and HOT HOT HOT!!! I loved how there were 5 different Alpha type guys with each story and they were each so different. I cannot pick a favorite as I loved all 5 main alpha male characters since each were so unique in their own way. I definitely laughed, smiled and swooned over each story. Highly Recommended.

Very Good Read. I really liked the stories behind Hudson, Mason, and Willow and their different struggles and how different each character is growing up and coming around the corner of adulthood. I really liked how the story also unfolds with Bruce’s character as well especially the connection with Hudson, Mason, and Willow. There is definite deep issues within the story along with mental health triggers that really pull at you. This story is very well written and I recommend this book.

Very very very good read! May I say……… Oh Lucca!!!! These books are so full of pure raw emotion. Lucca makes my heart swoon! The love between Lucca and Lexi cannot be denied. The emotional roller coaster ride that Lexi went through, especially as a child growing up, just tore at me. Her strong, sheer determination to get through is just wow! I am very excited to see what happens next. If you are looking for love, lust, twists and a strong story, this series is for you!

Flowers in December AUDIO BOOK by Jane Suen – Review by Heidi Schoolman

This is the first book in the series. This audio book is just over two hours long.  This story follows Connor as he travels back home to lay his mother to rest.  Connor has barely been back to his hometown in over 20 years and he is not looking forward to it.  He has so many feelings of regret that he has carried with him throughout his life since he left.  Now he is all alone except for his cat, Tom.  This was such a heartfelt story of a lonely man facing his past and wondering what his future holds.

HUSBAND (21st Century Courtesan Book 4)HUSBAND by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give THE HUSBAND (21st Century Courtesan Book 4) by P.S. Dumond, 4 stars.

This is a continuation to a captivating original story. Evie has really grown through this series and in this book, she really has to deal with a lot of pain and suffering. She manages this in her own way, while struggling to make sense of things. She is a fixer though and she tries to move on. But can she? This is a very emotional book, but there is more going on. Another client and another love (or two) throw more wrenches into this story.

I do recommend reading the previous books first, but they are all so good, you will be glad you did. If you like hot romance with some suspense thrown in, this book is for you.

I’m one for young adult books and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The different perspective on each character gives you an insight on just what’s going on in a 13 year old’s mind. It reminded me very much when I was younger and wishing I had awesome friends like Vlad, Damien, Lily and the other misfits in the group. I had a good chuckle about the situations these kids got themselves in. I highly recommend if you need a good chuckle or want to remember being a preteen again.

Steamy scenes!

Vivian has outdone herself with this book! Jordan and Grant are one of my two favorite characters of all time. I love how she paints Jordan as an independent woman but doesn’t overdo it. Grant is an amazing man and I wish there was more if him in real life! The scenes are hot and steamy but not too overwhelming. They aren’t the sole reason of the book. They are just enough to keep you hooked and the story itself is very well written and thought out and that cliffhanger is a sinker! I can’t wait for book 2 to come out and read it!

This is an exquisite piece of writing. The story grabs you from the opening line and takes you to another place in time. The author is on point with the world building and characterisation. The plot line had me turning the pages and I really enjoyed the mystery. Historical fiction is not a usual genre for me and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed N.L. Holmes’ writing style and I will be definitely checking out more of her work.

Queen of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Chrissy Spulak

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won't Wait Book 1)Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Queen of my Heart is the first installment in author Nikki Lynn Barrett’s Life Won’t Wait series. It is a Contemporary Romance, and I found it to be delightful. This is the first book I’ve picked up by this author, but I know it will by no means be the last. The author has a wonderful way of threading together the character’s lives along with meaningful, real-life situations that make this book a page-turner. I was engrossed from the very beginning with Quinn Winters and Tucker McGinnis. Quinn is an actress who is making the career shift to the country music stage. Tucker is already the King of Country who has lost his zest for the music. When the two get together, will they become the next King and Queen of Country? Will they make sweet music together? I had to find out for myself, and those pages kept turning. I love a good story that has a lot going on to keep me interested, and this definitely is one of those stories. I am looking forward to book 2! 5 out of 5 stars!

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won't Wait Book 1)Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Queen of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series. This is a sweet contemporary romance featuring the characters Quinn Winters and Tucker McGinnis. Set in Nashville, the story focuses on Quinn, a former actress, wanting to start over as a country singer. Tucker, a reality singing show winner, needs a muse. The two meet and Tucker offers to help her through all the obstacles in the singing world. I enjoyed these characters and enjoyed the emerging romance as they worked together. Also, there are some obstacles they have to overcome. Music City is a great setting and gives a different flavor to New York or L.A. and lends itself as a background character. I enjoyed the characters and appreciated Quinn starting her career over to follow her dreams. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in this series.

While I love reading this authors novels, this one was hard for me to get into. I liked that it had suspense but the story line just wasn’t me. This novel takes fantasy to a new level. This book combines a world of sexual fetishes, pornography, terrorism, royalty, secret agents, human animals, and romance. I love Seelie Kay novels but this one may yet grow on me if I read it a second time.

But wait, like all great suspense romance novels, there’s a catch. Enter bad guy. When said bad guy decides to make Jordan his prey, Grant comes to the rescue. This novel had me sitting at the edge of seat. I cannot wait till book 2 comes out.

Our Wicked Lies by Gledé Browne Kabongo – Review by Erin Clemence

Our Wicked LiesOur Wicked Lies by Glede Browne Kabongo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Our Wicked Lies” by Glede Browne Kabongo is a gripping and suspenseful domestic thriller. Fans of Gillian Flynn, Ruth Ware and B.A Paris will find a kindred spirit in Kabongo!

Alicia Gray has the perfect family; her lawyer husband, Elliot, is devoted to her and their two teenage daughters. After a twentieth anniversary trip to Paris, Alicia feels that her relationship with Elliot couldn’t be any better, but as she soon finds out, having everything you ever wanted comes with a steep price. When Alicia discovers that her husband has been having a long-standing affair with a woman named Faith, her entire life is turned upside down. Just as shocking is when Alicia discovers the true identity of Faith, sending everything she knew into chaos, and when a tragic death occurs in their elite neighbourhood, more secrets are revealed that has everyone, Alicia included, questioning what they thought they knew.

The story is well-written and the characters are well-developed¬. I rooted for Alicia from page one (and cursed Elliot throughout the entire novel). Right from the beginning I felt an immediate connection to the characters, and I wanted to see justice served.

The novel is told mostly from Alicia’s perspective, although we do get a bit of Elliot and Faith’s story throughout. The short chapters kept me engaged, and I found myself breezing through this page-turning novel!

Each and every character was seemingly just as guilty as any other, which made guessing the ending all the more enjoyable! The ending itself was unexpected, although it definitely wasn’t uncommon in novels of this genre. I thoroughly enjoyed how Browne Kabongo kept the tension throughout the entire plot, not letting up until the very last page.

Browne Kabongo is a new author for me, but she has many novels (and awards) under her belt. After reading “Our Wicked Lies”, I can absolutely see why! This genre is one of my favourites, and to see it done so well and in such an engaging and entertaining way, Browne Kabongo will definitely be on my radar from now on!

This book is very unique. I’ve never read a book with this story line. I loved it! The characters are unique and broken, and use each other to heal. This just goes to show, we don’t know what famous people’s lives are really like. It helped me remember that everybody has troubles.

This is a series about a highly paid escort who is an empath. She heals her customers. I highly suggest that you read the series from the beginning. There is a lot that is going on that you need to know about. Evie heals everyone but who will heal her? In this book, she’s finally realizing that she has been through so much and is near her breaking point. I have always loved Evie. She is strong, caring and wants to take care of everyone. There were a few who wanted to care of her but not in the way that she needed. I’m pleased to see that that she has met her match. I hope that she had the courage to let him in.

The plot thickens and her adoring fan is getting bolder. Danger lurks around every corner for Evie. I went through a slew of emotions in this book. I was happy, heartbroken and nervous. What an ending! Can’t wait to read the next book.

Murder at Honeybee Lake (Shadow of a Doubt Book 2) by Jessica Aiken-Hall – Review by Naomi McDonald

Murder at Honeybee Lake (Shadow of a Doubt, #2)Murder at Honeybee Lake by Jessica Aiken-Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Murder at Honeybee Lake is the second book in the Shadow of a Doubt series. It can be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed this book. Great plot and well-written characters. The paranormal element doesn’t overwhelm the story and it feels very natural. There were a couple of places that felt a little slower, but not enough to put me off. The back and forth of emotions between Randy and Ben in the beginning was like whiplash because it happened several times in a short space, but you understand the flip-flopping a little more as their backstories come out in detail later on.
Overall, great read!

Grant and Jordan are so adorable when they first meet at training, and when they meet up after they get back home the temperature turns up to hot, hot, hot! Jordan starts getting little “love notes” from an unknown “admirer” (read “stalker”) after an incident at her work. Creepy…as…heck! Then Grant starts getting texts? This is a hot love story with a creepy stalker and it ends on a cliff hanger! I am totally invested and can’t wait to read the next book!

This is my first book by this author. I loved the synopsis of the book and couldn’t wait to get started. I love giving a “new to me” author a chance. I wasn’t disappointed. This book was great. Our main female character is Jordan and our main male character is Grant. Jordan is a ballet instructor who has decided she’s going to join the national guard to help her get some more education under her belt. Grant is a Boston cop who just so happens to be in the same squad as Jordan. Their relationship is fast and steamy. However, they don’t have such a great love story without some bumps in the road. Read it to find out what (or who…) those bumps are. Can’t wait for book 2!

The Husband is book 4 in the 21st Century Courtesan series. I have not read the first books so I am sure that I lost some of the history of the characters. However, this book is still really well written and I love the main character Evie. She, like many people in real life, has a hard time figuring out who she loves, and who she is. However the ending does lead into the next book which I will be looking forward to reading. I highly recommend this book.

The Lightning Horse (Empire at Twilight Book 1) by N.L. Holmes – Review by Erica Shoebridge

The Lightning Horse is a well-crafted book with interesting characters and a brisk plot. The personalities were layered and interesting, so much so that it was easy to get lost in this book and pretend I was with them. Tiwatipara is a great hero, with energy, loyalty and humour, but is also not presented as perfect either; his temper can get the better of him, and is prone to bouts of depression. As a whole, he’s very relatable and I was interested to see where this book would take him. There are lots of twists and turns in this plot, some I was able to guess at, and some that took me by surprise. The skillfulness of the writing kept me hooked, and I bet it will for you as well.

Murder at Honeybee Lake (Shadow of a Doubt Book 2) by Jessica Aiken-Hall – Review by Erica Shoebridge

Murder at Honeybee Lake (Shadow of a Doubt, #2)Murder at Honeybee Lake by Jessica Aiken-Hall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Murder at Honeybee Lake is a continuation of the characters from Book 1, with an emphasis on the story of Randy and Ben, family of Tessa. The plot begins quickly with the titular murder being discovered in the first chapter. As the investigation begins, and the clues come together, Randy and Ben themselves become key to unravelling the murder.

This story is a cozy, easy-to-read mystery that fans of that genre will enjoy. It’s quite similar in structure and arc to Book 1. One thing I wasn’t a fan of was the insecurity of the characters. They all seem quite fragile and melodramatic, swinging wildly between loving deeply to accusations of hate. I wanted to find a strong hero to follow, but didn’t quite. Despite this, it is a relaxing read with a fun whodunnit plot.

Seductive Prey (Relentless #1)Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano is a romance thriller that kept me fully engaged with the story. Jordan Smith has come home from her National Guard training and is ready to start working at a dance studio. When she enters the building one morning with a coworker, a strange man is inside attempting to steal music speakers. Realizing he has been caught, he tries to attack Jordan. When the police arrive, the man flees. Jordan recognizes one of the officers is Staff Sergeant Grant Summers from her National Guard unit. A few days later Grant and Jordan begin dating only to find a stalker is after Jordan.

The story is written in first person view that alternates between Grant and Jordan. I have three people as possible guesses for the stalker. First is Sloan: Jordan’s friend that wanted an intimate relationship, but she turned him down. Second is Officer Lynch: Grant’s partner that starts acting strangely and randomly disappears. Third is Piper Smith: Jordan’s sister who is jealous of Jordan’s ability to be praised by their father. The abrupt ending is at a major climatic point that had me begging to read the sequel. This is a 5 star romantic suspense book that I would recommend for adult readers that like a good mystery.

I very much enjoyed this book and would definitely read it again! I adored the relatability of the familial relationships and empathized with the real life struggles that were happening. The relationship building was extremely realistic and made me wish for a love like theirs. All of the songs were extremely well written and made me want to look them up so I could hear the melody and harmonies. Music is such an amazing way to say the words you sometimes don’t have the words for in normal conversation, and I love that she used that as a platform for communication within the story as well.

Jake the Growling Dog Goes to Doggy Daycare was a great feel-good children’s book. I loved the way that it showed that it’s ok to be scared, and shows children how easy it is to not be scared anymore if you put your best foot forward. The illustrations are bright, cheery, and Jake just looks so fluffy that you find yourself wanting to pet him. The story flows easily and it’s the perfect length for all young children. If you are looking for a great children’s book to read to your kids before bed then I highly recommend Jake the Growling Dog Goes to Doggy Daycare.

This was such a delightful book to read. Who hasn’t experienced these feelings? We all have, and children especially in today’s world are experiencing this. I really enjoyed the main character Jake and was able to connect with him. The story flowed easily and had me wanting to turn to the next page to find out what happens next. The rhyming and “fun” of the words also made you feel like cheering on Jake and supporting him as his friend did. This is a book that could and should be read to anyone who is feeling either stressed, or about to have a new experience. This book shows what a little Kindness and friendship can do. I give this book 5 stars.

This is the 4th book in the 21st Century Courtesan series. After reading other reviews recommending to read them in order I was a bit worried about starting with this one. However, after taking a short while to get into it was a gripping story. I am so hooked I’m actually going to go and read the full series from the beginning to get a proper feel for it. It’s an amazing story and I can’t wait to read the rest of them to find out what happens and what happened before this point.

In this book we have Evie who’s living her life helping wealthy men overcome their problems and heal. However she is also dealing with problems of her own. After her husband Wyatt passes away this leaves Evie in a state of grief and confusion. Add to this her boyfriend Dylan and the hot passionate feelings Evie feels for Wyatts brother and Evie has a lot to sort through.

Along with all this confusion she also has a stalker who called themselves her devoted fan. Who is this person? Why are they so obsessed with Evie? And could this person be a random stranger or someone in front of Evie all along.

WOW!!!! I don’t even know where to begin. This story is so captivating it just draws you in straight away. I need to read the second book like now… what a cliffhanger, I can’t concentrate on anything else. I’m so excited to see what happens next. Jordan and Grant meet in the recruitment program for the national guard and they both notice the spark straight away but don;t act on it. Later on down the line they meet again when Jordan fights an attacker who breaks into her dance studio and Grant is one of the officer’s that responds to the incident, as soon as he sees her again he knows he must do everything he can to protect her even if he has to put his career on the line.
Because of the content it is not recommended for anyone under 18.
