Seductive Prey (Relentless #1)Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW!!!! I don’t even know where to begin. This story is so captivating it just draws you in straight away. I need to read the second book like now… what a cliffhanger, I can’t concentrate on anything else. I’m so excited to see what happens next. Jordan and Grant meet in the recruitment program for the national guard and they both notice the spark straight away but don;t act on it. Later on down the line they meet again when Jordan fights an attacker who breaks into her dance studio and Grant is one of the officer’s that responds to the incident, as soon as he sees her again he knows he must do everything he can to protect her even if he has to put his career on the line.
Because of the content it is not recommended for anyone under 18.

Fake Fiancé (A Second Chance Office Romance) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Jenique Bornman

I read this book a while back but when I saw that it was on audible  I just had to get it, and i was not disappointed

Regan Brown did an excellent job with the narration!!
Here is my original review on the story

WOW what a rollercoaster ride…. the push and pull between these two was off the charts, chemistry out of this world.
I can’t believe how much Amy McKinley was able to put into only 158 pages. She put a jampacked story into a Novella. The character development is superb and the storyline great.
This was my first read by this Author but I’m definitely going back for more

5 out of 5 stars

Seductive Prey is the first book I’ve read by Vivian Fiano and the first book in the Relentless Trilogy. As someone that has grown up in New England, I was excited to see that Grant is a cop in Boston.  I always feel like a book is extra fun when there are aspects “close to home”. Seductive Prey is an edge of your seat read from the very first page and it was hard to put down. The chemistry between our two main characters was of the charts and the storyline wasn’t boring either! It has been a long time since I have read a book series that was meant to be read consecutively and not “okay” as stand alone books for the cliffhanger at the end added an extra element of torture. As if I wasn’t already going to be continuing the series, the ending did seal the deal.

My daughter and I LOVED this book!!!! I read this book with my younger daughter (6 years old) during her school’s reading contest time. All the kids read as many pages as they can in a few weeks. Well this one was perfect for it!!! I read it to her a couple times and then she read it to me. She LOVED the cute characters and the adventure they had. I LOVED what this wonderful author put in the back! PARENTS!!!! You have to check it out!! It has some great techniques to do with your kids to help them with things that might be scary to them. I like to ask questions about the book along the way and this was a great extra boost at the end to do with her. I recommend this book to ALL PARENTS!!!!

I absolutely loved this story! Each one is my new favorite and i think this one will stay that for some time. These characters, while I cant relate to the special beings they are i can connect and relate to their feelings and actions . This author is talented and hope she never stops writing as I will keep reading!

Seductive Prey (Relentless #1) by Vivian Fiano – Review by Mrs R

Seductive Prey (Relentless #1)Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This romantic suspense is the first book in the trilogy and does end on a cliffhanger.
I really enjoyed this book, the story and not knowing has certainly kept me on my toes.
Grant meets Jordan whilst both are attending their National Guard duties and there an instant attraction. But Grant is higher ranking and so the relationship is not allowed. They meet again whist working their civilian jobs when policeman Grant attends a break in at the dance studio Jordan works at.
Following the break in, both start to receive threats, but are unable to find out who it might be, or even if it’s same person.
This story had lots going on and lots of people, which made for an interesting story but also made it so hard to try and figure out who the threats were coming from. You just don’t know who may or may not be involved.
I struggled to like Jordan at first, she just seemed a little too ‘perfect’, but she soon grew on me. Grant was easy to like, he was determined to do the right thing but also had a set career path which definitely gave him a dilemma or two.
There is a lot of description for their time spent whilst on National Guard duties, so you really get a feel for that they have to do.
I’m looking forward to the next book, I really want to figure out who might be behind the threats!

THE HUSBAND (21ST Century Courtesan #4) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Jennifer Gordon

HUSBAND (21st Century Courtesan Book 4)HUSBAND by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was gripped by this romantic suspense which is book four in the ‘21st Century Courtesan’ series. I would personally recommend reading this series in order as having not read the previous books I was a bit confused and felt that the storyline was continuing and Evelyn’s backstory had obviously been explained in the previous novels. The main character, Evelyn Berlinger is a 21st Century Courtesan and an empathic. She is used to billionaires paying large amounts of money to be with her and for her to heal them. Evie is mourning the loss of her husband, Wyatt who she loved and sadly couldn’t help. Following his death everything has changed for Evie especially after a fortune is bequeathed. Evie is also confused over her feelings for Wyatt’s brother, Easton who has taken over the Ma Maison Agency and then there is Dylan McAlister who she has a complicated relationship with. I found this psychological thriller both enjoyable and engaging, the complex storyline and intriguing characters ensured I could not put the book down. The plot twists kept the story exciting and it’s filled with love, lust, family loyalty, deceit, revenge, and plenty of steamy scenes but it also deals with death and grief in a sympathetic manner. Since reading this novel I am keen to read the previous books in the series and I have discovered a new favourite author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Apocalypse Nope!! by Deidre Huesmann a five-star ride of a read. This wasn’t what I was expecting, but to be honest I didn’t know what to expect, but this made me smile so much, Ivy-Jean is relatable, I understood why she doubted herself and haven’t we all felt like that as a teenager. But it’s the four Horsepeople that really bring the story to life, they add something special to the story. This is creative, original, well written and just an overall great read.

Seductive Prey (Relentless #1)Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano a thrilling five-star read. This is the first story in the Relentless series, and I am so eager for the next story in the series, as my goodness what will come next. This story had me gripped, every page I just kept turning it quicker and quicker needing to know what was going to happen next, when it was over, I had to sit and have a drink as I didn’t think I could do anything, I was limp. This gripped me so much, I don’t want to give any part of the story away as its just so well done, there is chemistry and passion, and drama and just simply well written plots. The characters are so well done that you can really see them as the story unfolds you know what is going to happen and how they are going to react, but you are still kept guessing, its brilliantly done.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Relentless by Via Mari a four-star read that won’t allow you to give up. This is number four in the Billionaire Bodyguard series and its best to read them in order to get the most out of the series, as they do build and develop the characters and the overall stories, they could be read as stand-alone as they do focus on a main couple, but I have loved them as a series. This author brings something fresh to each story they write, there is some amazing banter in this one, and Layla kept me on my toes, it was so nice to finally get under Dereks skin, get his story and the sizzling chemistry he creates.

For Quinn Winters, life had dealt her a bad hand when it came to family. She started off as a model, then commercials, and then a made-for-TV movie actress. After being killed off in every role of a movie, Quinn had enough of the Hollywood scene. She took off for Nashville to try her hand in music. Little did she know that it was more difficult to make it in Music City than she thought.

Tucker is distraught when all of the sudden he runs into Quinn at Bellamy Records. Being a kind man, he offers to help her get her music career in motion by teaching her the guitar. Little do they both know that this will change the course of both their lives.

How will Tucker and Quinn handle their new friendship? How will Quinn’s niece play into their lives when Quinn’s sister falls into trouble again?

From start to finish this book held me on the edge of my seat. It’s a wonderful story of life, hidden pasts, and finding something that you never thought you deserved.

I did not see that one coming. Brandy has an intriguing writing style…. I was scared when it started with the twists and turns that I might get lost but with the way she writes I could follow along perfectly.
The only critique I have is that the first bit of the book needs a bit of editing work BUT it doesn’t take anything away from the story.

Date NightDate Night by K.M. Lowe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Date Night by K.M. Lowe a four-star read that will keep you warm at night. This was a good story, but I have read others by this author and they were better. I adored the characters, they kept me reading, as they didn’t have the best story to keep me hooked, but themselves were funny and had great timing. More detail would have made this a better overall story, but I am picky, I like getting to know where the characters are as much as themselves. If you want snarky and romantic without being flowery then pick this story up.

The Lightning Horse (Empire at Twilight, #1)The Lightning Horse by N.L. Holmes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book drew me in from the very beginning. I love historical fiction, and read it often but this was a very different historical fiction for me! It was fascinating to be reading and learning about chariots and history in the middle east at the same time! Oh, to live in that time and to be in the middle of all the intrigue of bringing a king into power and keeping him there.

The author did an exceptional job developing the characters in such a way that you could feel their pain, confusion, and heartbreak. The mystery of who the culprit was that attempted regicide kept me guessing until the end! If this is only book 1, I am definitely looking forward to book 2!

To start Valarie really annoyed me, her immaturity made me want to slap her at times. There are no nicer ways to describe her but she annoyed me all the way through this book.

I really liked that we saw the dark side of the entertainment industry in this book, the author did a really good job at showing that I really enjoyed the plot.

I also loved reading the banter between Valarie and Flynn banter is one of my favourite things to read in a story without a doubt.

Watching and learning how Jake deals with is unease in a new environment can help teach children coping mechanisms that they can also use in the future.
The interactive parts at the back of the book that help kids understand the story even more is GENIUS!!

This is a YA paranormal suspense. Not scary at all but more of an adventure/who-done-it thing. PERFECT read for a preteen or a young teenager (although I also loved it). Six new friends who have “developed” supernatural powers are going on a hunt to find the person who is taking things.
Really cool book and I hope to read more about Southland Academy.

This was a hot and steamy romance that had me racing through. I loved the cliffhanger at the end, it was perfectly done to get me wanting to read the next book as soon as possible. Jordan is a wonderful female protagonist, she is brave and ballsy yet also vulnerable too reminding you that she is a human with flaws. Watching the love story between her and Grant was intriguing and I’m itching to know how their future works out.

I really enjoyed this selection of stories. All of them are based around a myth or legend with a romantic twist. Each author does an amazing job of bringing their stories and characters to life and fully immersing the reader into their story.

One of my favourites has to be Dragon’s Heart by Carrie Austin Malone. I loved the fast pace in this story and it contains dragon shifters which I love reading about.

When Mary starts getting dreams of dragons and a very handsome man she assumes that it’s just dreams. What she does realise it that its her mate Geraint connecting to her through their bond.
As time passes Mary feels the body stronger. When something happens to Geraint she knows she’s the only one who can help him. Will she be able to save him in time? Will he be everything she dreamed off? Or will reality be so much better than the dream?

I really enjoyed this novel. Although a little slow paced at times it adds to the atmosphere and the fill in, slow chapters help to add to the overall story. There were several main characters to this story and I found myself rooting for them all wanting Kara to become the warrior that she dreams of, Sorven to avenge his father’s death and for Cub to find his freedom. i also found Finn a really interesting character to and it really helped to add an element of folklore and magic to the story. This is the first I have read in this series and although you can read as a standalone I am going to be catching up with the first two and look forward to the next installment.

I Will Bury You by Brandy Nacole – Review by Alexandria Richard

I Will Bury YouI Will Bury You by Brandy Nacole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Captivating YA psychological thriller/ mystery read. I’d say reading level is more upper YA for “murder mystery” content and talk of mental health, even though MC (Main Character) actually falls into the New Adult category.

Ann returns home to Newport, Oregon, to deal with her mother’s passing from cancer. While packing up her mother’s stuff she finds items that don’t add up to what she remembers, and things that were hidden from her. Meanwhile people around her end up dead or injured. Who’s doing this? And why is it all happening upon her return home?

I really enjoyed the unveiling and the conclusion of the mystery. Some scenes/clues come about via flashbacks while others from narrator introspection. The switch from one to the other kept me reading to find out what happened next. I also liked the interaction of MC with the supporting characters, between her grief over her mother, assisting her aunt, fighting with the neighbor, and talking with the therapist we are able to flesh out who the MC really is.

The Husband is the fourth book in the 21st Century Courtesan by Pamela DuMond. This series should be read in order to get the full effect of this series, besides they are all excellently written. In Fact, I don’t often reread books, but I just had to go back and read the first three books before diving into this book. This series is fascinating with all the twists and turns. Evelyn is a strong empathic woman, who takes care of important and influential men. With each passing book the tension is getting higher and I’m excited to see what is coming next. I highly recommend this book, series and author.
