Southland Academy for Supernatural YouthSouthland Academy for Supernatural Youth by Sandra Tentler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Southland Academy is a whimsical and fun middle grade book. The different and creative characters make the book funny and interesting. The supernatural characters include the more main stream (witch and werewolf) along with the not so usual (ferret shifter). The characters become fast friends at the supernatural youth boarding school they are sent to and quickly start solving a mystery together. This book is a pretty fast read and is enjoyable. Boys and girls both have relatable characters to choose from and will find the book entertaining.

Murder at Honeybee Lake (Shadow of a Doubt Book 2) by Jessica Aiken-Hall – Review by Kerry Carr

Murder at Honeybee Lake (Shadow of a Doubt, #2)Murder at Honeybee Lake by Jessica Aiken-Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this paranormal crime story. It is book 2 in the Shadow of A Doubt series. It can be read alone but if you read the first book you will already know the main characters.

In this story we follow Randy and Ben. After getting together they start to settle into their new life on Honeybee Lake. Things are good until a dead body turns up underneath the Dock of their home. Who is it and what is it doing under there?

Once the body is identified Randy is the prime suspect and is arrested for murder. While he is in prison he suffers homaphobic abuse but with the help of his sister Mandy and his lawyer father can he get out of prison.
While Randy is inside Ben leaves. Turns his back and runs? Is Ben guilty of committing the murder?
With Mandy trying to solve the murder and clear her brothers name she turns to their friend Tessa for help. Tessa is able to speak and connect to spirits so can she connect with this person to find out the truth?

The Book is full of twists and turns that leep you guessing and all the way through it points to the murderer being either Ben or Randy but you never know who.

Tapestry of Worlds, Part Two: Running and Gunning by Hadley Thorne – Review by Mikaela Insinger

Tapestry of Worlds, Part Two: Running and GunningTapestry of Worlds, Part Two: Running and Gunning by Hadley Thorne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow, what a great novel. Suspenseful, mystical, and thrilling. I really enjoyed the interlacing of world’s in such a creative and descriptive way. This was my first introduction to Thorne and I am very excited to continue reading more of their stories. I disliked some of the language used to describe characters as it shows a lack of intersectionality, but it doesn’t take away from the story. Can’t wait to read what comes next in the Tapestry of Worlds!

A Gentleman’s Stipulation by Jean Wilde – Review by Rosemary Martinez

A Gentleman's Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon, #4)A Gentleman’s Stipulation by Jean Wilde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this read. I liked Victoria a lot and her way of not really caring what people think about her. I liked how she says what is on her mind even when she probably shouldn’t. Blake is intriguing to me in that in reality he and Victoria are so much alike in personality that it makes them oil and water. I’m always a fan of a match where two that don’t want to be together are thrust together and have to find their way through. This very much delivered on that score. It was a real page-turner and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. The characters had a great banter that was really fun to read. Definitely recommend!

Fake Fiancé (A Second Chance Office Romance) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Bobbi Wagner

I enjoyed this audiobook.  The author and narrator made this fun to listen to.  This is a romance story that I had no problems listening to as it was brought to life.   The narrator’s voice and the changes in tone just added to the story.  Adeline has her dream job all set up in Italy, the city of love. Once she gets there, the city of love isn’t what she expected. She now finds herself playing the role of fiance to her boss, Stone. Now they are faced with keeping their relationship business or crossing a professional line. Will they cross that line and give in to the attraction?  Great story and I highly recommend this audiobook.  It is worth the pick up.

Eye of the Storm (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 2) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Bobbi Wagner

This is the first audio I have listened to by this author.  The narrator pulled me into the story with the tone of voice.  The narrator made the characters come to life with each word.  It was a fun, entertaining story to listen to.  The characters are strong, lovable, and connectable. Chris Shaw opens his eyes and finds himself staring into the eyes of a beautiful woman. Mari Dias has some secrets of her own but she may be his only hope of survival.   They have one mission, to get to sanctuary but what will happen when revenge becomes more important? Can they battle the storm that is raging or will they find shelter? What will happen to them when her secrets are revealed?  I highly recommend this audio.

Jake is nervous when his family goes away for a weekend and he is being sent to doggy daycare. Will the other dogs like him or will his growl scare them away? A refreshing story for young children, Jake shows that it is okay to be nervous about new adventures, but that great things can come from it. Written in rhyme, the story is fun and the illustrations are beautiful. A wonderful story of facing fears and new experiences, Jake can help children adjust to changes and overcome fears.

This is a young adult story that any age would enjoy. This is a story of fantasy brought to life by the characters. They made the story fun and entertaining to read. This is a well written story about a place called Storey. Some say it is a myth but Luella is about to find out differently. From her she takes you on a fantasy adventure of discovery. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into the story. They are engaging and I had no problem placing myself on the adventure right along with Luella. She really made a great character. I highly recommend this book.

This is the series I have loved from the first book. I highly suggest reading this series from the beginning to enhance your enjoyment of the story as well as the characters. This story does have some triggers but if you can get past those you will find a truly great story. This author has continued to impress me with her writing skills and attention to details. This is a well written story that has characters that are engaging and brings the story to a new level. In this book we get to see Lucca and Lexi’s continuation of their journey together. I won’t say much more about this as I highly recommend reading this book and this series. The characters are relatable and bring the story to life. This is worth the pick up for sure!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this romance story. This is a newer author for me which I really enjoyed and look forward to seeing what is next in the future for her. I found the story to be well developed, fast paced and engaging. The characters are realistic and made the story pop. Jules has kissed a stranger one night who she never expected to see again. Fate has other things in store for her and this stranger. Adam, is the stranger, doesn’t do relationships until her. He knows that he is no good for her. Fate has something else in mind. This is a great story that the characters really made the story for me. I enjoyed watching their growth and chemistry throughout their story. I highly recommend reading their story to find out what fate has in store for them.

Flowers in December AUDIO BOOK by Jane Suen – Review by Lorralei Hoerner

Great story…. pulled at my heart strings. No doubt this story makes you think of the “what if’s” in life. The story was heart felt from a lonely man and trying to process his thoughts and grief. The voice of the narrator really pulled me in right from the beginning. The story was great and looking forward to continuing this series to see how Conner’s character evolves. 💜💜💜💜💜

This walks the line between sci-fi and paranormal and does it brilliantly. The story is told in multiple POV – which I really like. The FMC is so easy to relate to and I enjoyed her inner monologue. The world building is good and the story is fast paced with a underlying message of acceptance and not judging a book by its cover. There is a slight cliffy that had me really wanting to move straight onto part 2.

Bake Believe by Cori Cooper – Review by Cora-Lyne Ethier

Bake BelieveBake Believe by Cori Cooper
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love anything to do with baking so when I found this book I HAD to have it.

This is unlike anything I have read before. It is a very cutesey novel where each chapter includes a recipe for the item they talk about during that chapter. I do not recommend reading this book on an empty stomach. You will be starving thinking about the delicious recipes.

Cat.. yes like the animal not short for anything has some magical powers to bake emotions. Whatever she is feeling transpires into her baking. This is such a funny concept and brings to life the saying “I made this with love”.

The characters in the story are fun and you get attached to them from the beginning. Robyn is hilarious and wants to live vicariously through Cat who had no clue how to manage her powers.

The book ended to complete the story however there is potential for a sequel there.. fingers crossed!!

The interaction between the two main characters made this story feel real to me. It was easy conversation where both pretty much said what they were thinking. I dont have the correct words to explain what I mean by that but it was just so easy to read and imagine.

I loved this book, it was a quick one sitting read that wasn’t full of a whole lot of drama and problems at every turn. I’m so used to reading twists and turns, which I love, and at first I kept waiting for that to happen in this book, but they never came and I was truly ok with that. It was a nice break from the kindle throwing LOL

I love this author and I love how her stories flow so easily. I have to admit Jesse was one of my favorite characters in this story. His loyalty to and friendship with Hannah seemed real and I felt that! There are some steamy scenes that will make you blush and some fun back and forth that will make you smile and in some cases laugh out loud a little.

Loved it!

This is the type of book to sweep you right off your feet and into the lives of both characters to be a fly on the wall in their story. It was romantic, funny at times, but most of all charming as it teased you with these two falling in love but doing so naturally and innocent. Pretty easy to read and straight to the point. Entertaining till the last page with characters you can’t help but fall in love with. By having read previous works of the author’s I highly recommend this one and many more.

Love Unexpected by Marina Hanna – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Love UnexpectedLove Unexpected by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love Unexpected was just that. Unexpected. I did not expect to absolutely love Jules and Adam. I did not expect to be enthralled by this new to me author. But I was. The blurb intrigued me. The story blew my mind. It was more than your typical taming of the wild man that never intended to settle down. The author penned this with a clever eye for detail. And one crazy wicked sense of humour. There was serious moments, and the tension was palpable between Adam and Jules. They complimented each other perfectly and gave me endless thrills and feelings of delight and enjoyment. Love Unexpected was a blissfully captivating story and I have found another ridiculously talented author to add to my ever growing bookshelf. 5 stars.

I’m gonna keep this review simple and in plain English because I enjoyed previous works from this author. This reminds me of “Bridgerton,” the books and TV shows which made me fall deeper into it without a doubt. Like a guilty pleasure to read LOL. What I enjoyed about this is how they’re opposite attracting and mistaken identity is also inter testing to see how it will or would play out. Basically, a great book filled with intrigue, mystery but even better ROMANCE! Catch this one to see how this timeless classic is worth the read.

For a 300+ page book, this book was fast-paced and of course, you’re smack dab in the middle of the action and it’s suspenseful and full of impact. From the characters to the very end, you feel like a part of the squad. It’s so riveting to read you’re excited to see how and where it ends. The truth is that I loved it from start to finish. Every aspect of it was fun, action-filled and of course, after reading previous works from Mr. Mark Nolan I couldn’t have been more excited to get started on this one.

K.L. Shandwick yet again surpasses my expectations.
In this unexpected dare I say inner struggle with his sexuality the rock star changes my mind about him.
I developed a love hate relationship early on with these characters and I’m still undecided. BUT that’s a good thing, it shows how extremely well developed K.L. Shandwick’s characters are. They are multilayered with complex emotions that jump of the pages.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

The narrator is new to me, I struggled a bit to get used to his voice, but maybe it’s just because it’s the first book I’ve listened to from him.

K.L. Shandwick is fast becoming one of my go-to authors.
Ready for Flynn is an AMAZING coming of age story with lots of emotional ups and downs. K.L. Shandwick takes you on a superbly crafted emotional ride with young Valerie’s love story.
The character development is perfect, as the book takes you from a young puppy crush  to love without borders.
I especially appreciated the development of Valerie. The way she changes from a you naive girl into a strong independent young woman, but she her heart doesn’t harden after all the turmoil she’s gone through.

Anne Marie also did an amazing job with the narration. Her transition between characters is flawless.

One of my favorites of this year.

This was my first time reading anything by this author, but I would lookout for more books in the future. I loved the fun and enthusiasm that runs throughout the book. The pace was really quick and the story was finished sooner than I would have liked! The pages just kept on turning.
The storyline was a bit different and just when I thought I had things figured out a whole new twist would be introduced. The characters are fun, and the main character Mathilda is relatable in her struggles in both her career and her love life.
If you’re looking for a fast-paced and lively read I would recommend this book.

Betrayal at the Beach by K. L. Montgomery is the first in the Dangerous Curves Series. Sunshine Baker is a Young Adult Librarian in Bryce Beach. This year, she is planning the annual Gala. Since the funds at the library have been cut short, the Gala is the only hope of maintaining the library and it’s employees. When the Bible signed by the town’s founders and the proceeds from the Gala go missing, Sunshine makes it her personal mission to find the person responsible.

This is a feel good, must read! I love the way body positivity and Christianity were both encompassed in this story. Light-hearted and a joy to read.
