Date Night by KM Lowe – Review by Kerry Baker

Date NightDate Night by K.M. Lowe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Date Night by K.M. Lowe is a fantastic quick romantic story about two cynics finding their happiness. This is a nice easy read but also has enough about it to keep you engaged. The main characters have a strong connection between them. I thought it was obvious from the moment they met.
The book itself it well written if a little predictable. However that is exactly what I want from this kind of book. It is perfect for losing yourself in for a few hours on a lazy afternoon. You get swept up by the characters and really can just switch off. I also personally loved the fact that it is based in Scotland! This is a book certainly worth your time.

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

Welcome to 10 plus hours of Paranormal Suspense. With romance in the story as well. No spoilers here. You have to read it to believe it!

Maggie has haunted this old house for years. Naomi, a writer has just moved in with her cat. The cute little cottage is next to a cemetery and is the perfect place to write her next book. Naomi had just left a bad relationship and wanted a new start. When she meets Ryan, he is perfect in many ways, always hungry and never late, and Bryce is the handsome neighbor, with one cutie of a daughter. She is torn who she wants to spend time with. Well that is all you get for now.

Mya O’Malley wrote this suspenseful paranormal. It is well written and fun to read. If you like ghosts and solving crimes. I read this story years ago, I loved it then. I love it even more as an Audiobook. The characters are well explained and true to their descriptions. The story is fast paced and will keep you reading until the end. I absolutely recommend this book in Audio for the bone chilling intense storyline. Well Done Mya O’Malley!  Well Done!

AJ Renee has done an amazing job with this book series so far. I fell in love with Serena and Ethan from the beginning. Serena is fiercely independent and strong, the head of her coven. She helped Ethan grow more into himself and his powers. Individually they are incredible but together they are a force to be reckoned with. I loved the appearance of old and new characters that molded into their story. I’m so excited to see what’s next for this incredible family!!

I really enjoyed listening to this story. The narration was good and definitely brought the story to life. I really enjoyed the story; it was engaging and the characters’ story was great to listen to. I was really impressed with the authors attention to detail and because of the narration I really did feel like I was right there with the characters, I could imagine everything I was listening to. I haven’t read or listened to any of the other stories in this series but I definitely will be seeking them out now. I loved trying to solve the crimes and guess what was going to happen. A highly recommended audio book!

I’m always fascinated by the ride this author takes me on. And this book was no exception. For me it was parts romance, parts supernatural situation, with some adventure sprinkled throughout. I kept trying to figure out how everything would resolve and it kept me completely engrossed to the end. Well written and fun.

Flowers in December – Audio Book

By Jane Suen

This was a really lovely audio book and I enjoyed listening to it.

I really enjoyed Connor’s story and could feel all of his emotions. I can only imagine the kind of loss that he is currently going through but he was really well supported by the local community. They all clearly loved his mother very much as did he. The way in which the author wrote this story felt like I was going through the grieving process with Connor. Along with Connor were some really lovely secondary characters, I especially liked Mary Ann; she seemed so sweet and genuine. The narrator really got the emotion of the story across well.
A beautifully written story and i would definitely recommend the audio book.

Oh my word!
Can I say Max is my favorite so far?! Who doesn’t love a man with a passion for animals? Max is a veterinarian with the ability to actually speak to the creatures he cares for. Claudia is a werewolf with a monster of a past and the mother of the sweetest little girl. My heart broke multiple times for them throughout the book. Max and Claudia’s story will have your heart all mushy. I loved seeing Max’s family wrap around them both. Renee has a way of writing in old and new characters to allow you to see more of their story even when they are not the focus. I’m so excited for the next book and it will certainly be on my TBR list!!

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss Book 1) by Carmen Richter – Review by Katie Matthews

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss #1)My Lips Are Sealed by Carmen Richter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My Lips Are Sealed was a really great read, I like a forbidden romance story so this was definitely my kind of book. I was quickly engaged in although I will say I did struggle to connect with the main character Zoe at times, this may have been due to her age but there was just something however it didn’t mean that I didn’t like the story because I really did. There is definitely. Lot of angst and drama in the story and I did really feel a connection between the characters at times. I did feel for Zoe and the things she has been through. The author did a good job with getting the emotion across in the story. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

The synopsis for this book didn’t really give much away for what I was in for but I loved it! I loved going in blind and not knowing what to expect, I also love that I have found a new author to follow! The story was really good, I liked that it was original and something really different to read. The authors writing was engaging and entertaining. I was dragged into the story easily and my attention was held throughout. I liked the unpredictability of it. Lillie was a great character, I really liked her and I’m looking forward to the second book in the series!

I really like this author and I was really looking forward to this story and as usual I wasn’t disappointed. It was such a lovely book to read, the story flowed really well and I loved the characters. Sunshine really was a joy to read about, she certainly lived up to her name! I loved the mystery of the storyline and it definitely kept my interest throughout. One of the many things I love about this author is how she makes her characters so body positive, it really makes her characters so relatable – I just adore the way in which she writes.
I loved this book; it is definitely one of my favourites from this author and as always, I can’t wait for her next book release! Betrayal at the Beach is a must read and I highly recommend it!

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Alexandria Richard

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3)Auctioned by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A slow-ish burn romance with Dom/sub personalities.
What do you do when you’re hired to help someone and they don’t want to be helped? What do you do when you’re trying to just survive but someone is doing all they can to change that? And will it be for better or for worse?

I enjoyed that the narrator POV switched between Damien and Bryanna, so that we can get insight as to what each is thinking and feeling. I also enjoyed that we got some overlap of scenes from the other’s POV so to give more insight. I did sometimes feel like scenes were written quickly and could have been fleshed out to give more information, but it did not take away from the story and may have been more my inquisitive nature (I want to know more!). I appreciated the interaction that the secondary characters had, from Damien’s colleagues, to the others who were currently in Bryanna’s life.

Some trigger warnings of characters being drugged and prepared to be sold. Trafficking, and battling it, is a common theme throughout.

Note: Book 4, Relentless, basically occurs at the same time with a few cross references.

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor – Review by Tamisha Janay

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This one was good, y’all! From page one, I was hooked. It tells the story of a seemingly ordinary girl who grew up believing that the Zayeds were something to be feared – which really hits home in today’s reality. The men that she meets are so sweet and caring, only further proving that you can’t always believe what others tell you. It’s best to go with your gut and see for yourself. I was definitely feeling a smurf vibe – as I’ve seen a few reviews that may me feel not so alone in that – but it was a welcome adult change to the memory. I’m looking forward to reading book two and finding out more about the Zayed, Lillie, and what is next for them.

An Unexpected Bonding (The Unexpected Trilogy Book 1) by Lilly Rayman – Review by Tamisha Janay

An Unexpected BondingAn Unexpected Bonding by Lilly Rayman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I went into this book worried that I would be put off because of the constant jump in POV. Instead, I found it intriguing. It was nice to be able to get the perspective of everyone in each important moment. There is background and history that needs to come from certain characters and it comes at just the right times. I enjoyed the Egyptian history as well as the present day Texas spirit. Vampires, wolves, and fairies – OH MY! The separate stories going on while the main story was happening and the jump back and forth from past to present day left me on the edge of my seat. I finished this book a bit too fast and am excited for the continuation of this series. Because of this, I am a huge fan of Lilly Rayman and will be reading as much from her as possible from this point forward!

This is a new author to me, but one that I can see myself reading more of from now on. I found this love story quite enjoyable. There was a lot of romance, some disappointment, drama, and tears on my part. But it was worth the read. Oh, and it left me starving in the end. For food. As in the delicious delectables that she describes in such a way that had me salivating. I thought that the characters were amazing, and I would love to be friends with them. The author did a great job of pulling at my heartstrings with this story. I look forward to reading more of the books by this author.

My Sweet GI by T.L Wainwright is a historical romance set during WWII. This is my first audible by this author but definitely not my last. I absolutely love Historical Romance and especially ones during this time period. This is a sweet story that once you start listening to you wont want to stop . There were moments my heart hurt for these two characters . I loved the narrator her tone of voice was actually kinda soothing. This is a story about Jenny and Teddy. They meet when he steps into the shop she works in. These two have a instant connection but will war take that away before there relationship really gets started? This is my first book by this author and it was a very enjoyable steamy quick read. I have a bit of a weakness for alpha male romance books and this did not disappoint. I really liked Jules and her no bull approach. The story moved along at a good pace and there was some added plot lines to keep me vested. The connection between Jules and Adam unfolded easily and did not come across as forced. I recommend this book.

Its a slow paced story and very cliché at points. I liked the dual POV however it was nice to see the story from both sides.

Try Right (Aloha Series book 3) by Jill Brashear – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Try RightTry Right by Jill Brashear
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Try Right is book three in the Aloha series by Jill Brashear. This racy little story is set in the late sixties, in Hawaii, and the two main characters are Claudia and Henry. I have not read book one or two, and while these are stand alone stories, I think I would have benefited from reading the first and second books before reading Try Right. Nevertheless, the story was enjoyable, with energetic characters who were witty, passionate and magnetic. Claudia was an actress and Henry a stuntman. Used to the finest of Hollywood, Claudia is given a career lifeline in Hawaii, where her first love is from. There were shenanigans galore and the laughs were frequent. A flashy, fun and crafty little romance, with a little sass and lots of heart. 4 stars

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Apocalypse NOPE!! By Deidre Huesmann is a wonderful YA story that kept me entertained the whole way through. It’s a modern retelling of the four horsemen of the apocalypse story, but with a Deidre Huesmann twist. This is paranormal LGBT romantic comedy done well- with emotion, drama, teenage issues, angst, and more.
I have read many of Deidre Huesmann’s books now and can always count on her to deliver a wonderfully original, entertaining, and yet thought provoking read. And this story was no different. I love the quirky, off-bet characters- and the modern spin that Ms. Huesmann gave to the old classic. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Thank you, Deidre Huesmann!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is H-O-T! It has it all; mystery, drama, and of course some hot romance. Dereck and his team are determined and pros at what they do. He is a take-charge, get what he wants guy and he wants Layla. I love her independence and determination to find her sister. This is definitely a more mature read as the sexual nature is hot, hot, hot! I rooted for them throughout the whole book. Even though this is the fourth book in the series you can totally read it as a stand-alone but if you do I am sure you will be searching for the rest of the series the moment you finish. It is definitely a page-turner and I highly recommend it.

WOW WOW WOW!!! I am so hooked on this series!!

Relentless by the wonderful Via Mari had me hooked from the very start and kept me captivated until the very last word. I was literally on the edge of my seat towards the conclusion of the book. Part of the story does run along side the previous book in the series so I found it very beneficial that I had read the previous book. My recommendation would be to start this series from the very beginning not just because the characters story lines will flow better for you but because its so AWESOME and you don’t want to miss anything!!

Relentless Brings us the story of Layla, a very strong willed determined woman, hiding a genuine soft tender side, who is looking for her sister and the man who killed her cousin. Along comes the Super hot, determined and VERY dominant Dereck. He wants to protect her and be with her but knows she is hiding things from him. Lies is one thing he does not tolerate but at the same time he knows trust must be earnt, he just hopes he can earn her trust before its too late.

Do yourself a huge favour and grab a copy of Relentless today!! you wont be disappointed

Ready For Flynn, Part 1 (Ready for Flynn Series) Audio Book by K.L. Shandwick – Review by Charlisa Wahtomy-Alba

Valerie is a 15-year-old who developed a crush on her brothers roommate when he was brought home for Thanksgiving. Sparks fly between the two, but Flynn is warned off by her brother. Because of his love and respect for his roommate he doesn’t act on his feelings. Flynn feels that the best course of action is to leave Valerie alone until she is ready to move forward with a relationship if she so chooses. At first she is upset that he left without a good-bye, but over time she does her best to get over him. She soon starts to date a young man that she grew up with and whom her family seems to like very well. Flynn of course has always been in the back of her mind and she has kept up to date with him once she found out he dropped out of school to become a rock star. When tragedy strikes and she loses several people she loves in an accident, Flynn is there by her side to help her though it all. Will there ever be a time when he doesn’t answer her call? He is a big celebrity now and has millions of people watching every aspect of his life while Valerie is a small town girl living on a farm. Listening to all the heartache that Valerie endured while she was going through her teen years was tough. I admit I cried a bit, but there were also moments that made me smile and laugh. I enjoy reading books, but to hear the emotion behind words is sometimes more powerful than what is written on the page. Both the author and narrator did a great job bringing these characters to life and making them relatable.

RelentlessRelentless by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great 5 star read that pulled me in right from the beginning. You could say that Dereck was relentless in his pursuit of Layla.

Dereck and his team are working on keeping a woman safe. When he has to talk to Layla to try and get more information from her, things take a dangerous unexpected twist. There is something about her that pulls him right in and calls to his dominant side.

Will Layla submit to Dereck? What will happen when her secret comes out?

Layla has a plan and Dereck wasn’t part of it, but he is determined to keep her in his sights. As we move forward in the story, things get even more interesting. Overall this was a great read. I really liked both characters; they both had strength and challenged each other. And their chemistry was off the charts. The author does a great job with her writing and I look forward to reading more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

Mia works for a publishing company as a graphic designer who also happens to take professional photographs. When she attends a Community if Creatives in Publishing meeting, she finds her dream guy Nicholas who happens to be a presenter at the meeting. Several months later Mia is offered a new position when the publishing company is going through a reorganization. Wouldn’t you know it, Mia is now working with Nicholas.
